Baguio City / Transportation
All bus and jeepney terminals are within walking distance of the city center. However, traversing long distances is tiring due to the mountainous terrain.
Some examples for hikers:
Malcolm Square to Wright Park: 2 hr;
Malcolm Square to Mines View: 3 hr.
Malcolm Square is commonly called "Plaza". Practically all jeepneys going downtown have "Plaza" on their signboards; however, just a few of them actually go to Malcolm Square. Many jeepneys showing "Plaza" on their signboards wait on some side streets or corners near Malcolm Square, but never go directly to "Plaza". Jeepneys usually stand at the terminals until they are full. For details, please see "Jeepney Terminals" below.
Taxis are a pleasant surprise in Baguio. They are equipped with meters, and they are used, too. Flag down rate is 2 P; one can get to many places in the city for less than 10 P.
