Dalupiri Island
Dalupiri island, off the northwest coast of Samar, has a resort hotel, called Flying Dog Resort, which is built of native materials - bamboo, coconut wood and nipa. Accommodations offered range from beach cottages to hillside cottages, the capacity is more than 80 persons. Flying Dog Resort has a Filipino restaurant, a snack bar and a beach music bar. Electricity is limited to bathrooms and the power needs of refrigeration, pumps and bar services.
Various services are available: a children's playground, baby-sitting, horses and guides for the mountain villages. The resort management stresses that nearby are a fully staffed hospital and two clinics. There is also a 24-hour radio link to Manila. A 1.2km airstrip completes the infrastructure back-up. To reach the resort one best takes one of PAL's daily flights to Catarman or Calbayog. There will be a jeepney ride of at least 1 hour and a boat ride to the island. CALBAYOG City
Calbayog is the only chartered city on Samar and by far the most populous urban agglomeration on the island. But it's not only a poor city, economically, but also poor in attractions.

CATBALOGAN
The capital of Samar province has practically no tourist attractions, however, it can be a stopover place on a Luzon-Mindanao trip.
