Visa Formalities / Non-Immigrant Visa

Non-immigrant aliens are those who are on a temporary trip for business or pleasure. A non-immigrant visa is valid for a 90 day stay. Before the expiry date, it can be extended for another 90 days at the Immigration Division on Soi Suan Phlu off Sathorn Thai Rd, Bangkok.

When an alien who is permitted to stay temporarily in Thailand wishes to leave and re-enter, he must submit to the Immigration Department an according request before leaving, otherwise the period for which he was granted permission to stay will expire. To avoid the need of applying for a new non-immigrant visa after each travel outside Thailand, re-entry permits can be requested as many times as desired. The fee for a re-entry permit is 500 Baht.

Application forms for non-immigrant visas must be accompanied by a letter from an employer stating an applicant’s employment.
