Sea Transportation

Twice a day, there is a ferry connection between Matnog on Luzon and San Isidro on the northern tip of Samar (old pier at Allen).

The MV Tacloban City of William Lines passes by Catbalogan every week (Tuesday around noon) on its journey to Tacloban, and then again (Wednesday around 18:00) on its way back to Manila. Travel time between Catbalogan and Manila is 22 hours.

The MV Cebu Princess of Sulpicio Lines touches Calbayog in the middle of the night between Saturdays and Sundays on her journey to Ormoc (Leyte) and Cebu City. On her return journey to Manila the vessel again passes by Calbayog on Tuesday evening; this ship, however, does thereafter not proceed straight to Manila but makes another stopover at Masbate; travel time between Calbayog and Manila is 36 to 40 hours, considerably longer than the travel time on the MV Tacloban City between Catbalogan and Manila.

Local shipping lines connect Catbalogan as well as Calbayog with Cebu City several times a week (travel time around 14 hours)
