Let's make $1,000 for me and a $20 dinner for my husband and kids. My stomach became paralyzed about three years ago and I can't eat or drink. There's no cure and it's not hereditary. This is a little reminder before I share more. Just because I share my health journey with you does not mean that you have the right
to comment on my mouth.
This is my TPN. It has all of the calories and nutrients, hydration, everything that you could possibly need inside this bag. I also do run one liter of IV fluids every day. And now we inject my multivitamins. And yes, I do have to change my batteries out every day too.
We're not allowed to use rechargeables. We use what the pharmacy sends us. Now let's do my meds. Also, by the way, every step I'm doing is actually necessary so I don't get a blood infection because this central line that you see right here, the tip of it goes to my heart. It's like a permanent IV, but the tip of it right before your heart
instead of in your arm. But mine doesn't come out. So I think I forgot to say, but yes, all of my food and water goes through my bloodstream. It does not go in my stomach whatsoever
because my stomach doesn't work, which means it also doesn't make me feel full because fullness is a stomach sensation of your stomach being full of food. But don't worry, I'm not hungry. TPN, everyone thinks is so amazing until you actually learn about it. It's extremely hard on your organs
and over time damages them and I'm sure you can figure out the rest. Now it's not to say I'm not grateful for it because I would not be here without it. I'm so grateful for it, but it's not miracle food. Today we're going to make some slow cooker pot roast and if you're new here, here's my disclaimer. Just because I can't eat doesn't mean that I can't cook. I only cook a couple times a week when I can. My husband
is working, which is completely normal, and I'm perfectly capable of making a delicious meal for my family. Since the smell of food makes me super nauseous, I use these little peppermint inhalers, which helps just mask the smell of food. And they're pretty amazing. It just smells of peppermint. It looks like a little clear septum piercing.
And there you go.
Let's get to cooking.
Let's get to cooking. Let's get to cooking. Let's get to cooking.
