A-10s came back from Iran with some WILD paint jobs

A -10s returning from Iran were just spotted with some fresh tattoos detailing exactly what they did over the desert.

A flight of 11 A -10C Thunderbolts from Moody Air Force Base just touched down in the UK on their way back home to the US after a high -tempo deployment flying combat missions for Operation Epic Fury.And these warthogs were sporting some incredible new nose art and combat mission markings They give us massive clues about what exactly went down in the air war over Iran.First off, the squadron fully bought into the Nintendo theme for their A -10s, with jets boarding King Dedede, Diddy Kong, Fox, and Kirby.But the fate of one specific warthog, nicknamed Toad, is completely unknown, leading to heavy speculation that it might have been the A -10 reported lost during the conflict.Even crazier, though, were the bomb silhouettes painted right behind the cockpit showing exactly what they were dropping downrange.as apparently they dropped the massive 2 ,000 -pound GBU -31 JDAM, laser -guided bombs, Maverick missiles, and thousands of rounds from the legendary 30mm Gatling gun.

But I think the most unique silhouette has to be the kill markings showing exactly what a specific A -10 actually shot down.For example, the SAMUS Warthog is sporting two distinct Iranian naval vessel silhouettes during the heavily armored anti -tank jets were successfully deployed as maritime strikers to shred fast attack boats.Meanwhile, there was another A -10 with a Strike Eagle tail silhouette painted on its side with the words, so others may live.Heavily implying that this specific hog was flying low altitude overwatch during the high stakes combat search and rescue mission for the downed crew.The Air Force might still be trying to go ahead and retire the A -10 and it's coming down the line, but these markings, how funny they are with the Nintendo ones, but also the bomb dropping silhouettes and what exactly they shot down and killed downrange further proves the A -10 is still very much relevant.
