Hi, welcome to my channel. My name is Emma and this is my abandoned general store that I'm turning into the homestead of my dreams. So in today's video, we are cleaning out the upstairs of the homestead. I have finally looked through everything. I know what's what and now I can start moving it out and preparing for the renovation. I have some help from my dad's crew. They are preparing the cabin to get everything moved over and they're gonna help me move stuff over as well. So in the cabin they have been building shelves so that I can kind of get everything organized and just make the most of the space. Basically we're just throwing everything into the back of my

0:34

truck and then driving it over and unloading it. It's gonna look so different when it's all cleared out. It's gonna feel so weird but amazing and I'm so excited to see it when it's all clear and empty. I am also so excited to share that my online store is now live. I will share more details at the end of the video if you are interested in purchasing anything that I found in the store. Antiques Ephemera bottles. The name is Heritage Rowe. The first owner and his son who I think also ran the store at one point, their last name was Rowe. I really wanted to keep the name authentic

1:10

to the store itself. There were other owners and it's nothing against them that I didn't choose their name and Heritage because I wanted to honor the heritage of the town, the building, the community. So I am so so so excited to have that in the world. So let's get to work but before we do, cheers to my mom and cheers to all of your loved ones that you're missing as well. Cheers! Oh that's a good one. That's a good one today. All right let's get to work! So if you've been a longtime viewer, you can see by looking

1:59

at the cabin that the cabin is a lot cleaner than it was when I bought it. I haven't really shown this cabin transformation on my channel. I was thinking about showing this in a future series. Here's where we are right now with the cabin. It was jam-packed full of stuff when I bought it over the winter. So today, the plan was to start building some shelves in the cabin so we can start moving stuff from the homestead to the cabin.

2:25

So that's what I'm getting started on and these shelves that I wanted to build, I didn't want to buy brand new shelving and I didn't want to put a lot of time or energy into the shelving. So these shelves are just going to be built out of literal scrap wood that I had laying around. So they got started on that while I went over to the homestead. So while the guys are working on the shelf I am going to start bringing stuff from

2:49

upstairs, put it in the truck, and then take it over there. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you I just saw this.

3:56

I've never seen this before.

3:59

Famous Food Virginia. That's pretty cool. This, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this Is that why? We're free Alone We're free Is that why? We're free Is that a lie? Is it?

5:12

Is it a lie? Is it?

5:43

Is it a lie? Once they had the first shelf built, it was time to start putting things that were already in the cabin up on the shelves to make room for more things to come over from the homestead. So I got started on that. So that shelf took care of a ton of stuff. A lot of that is stuff that was in the cabin already. Some of it is stuff that I found along the way and a few things are from the homestead that I've already brought over here. But this is where we just put everything that came from the homestead. And I am this week probably going to add more shelves in here and use this as sort of like an organizing space for everything that I'm going to be

6:20

shipping out from the online orders. And yeah, this is just all gonna be storage. I love baking and one of my dreams is to start making sourdough. But between my long days out here and my lack of a full kitchen, I don't get to bake as often as I would like to.

6:36

And that is why I continue to partner with Wild Grain, who is the sponsor of today's video. Wild Grain has created the first Bake From frozen subscription box for sourdough breads, artisanal pastries, and fresh pastas. And yes, they have a full gluten-free box and that's what I get. Everything is small batch made by real bakers with clean ingredients. No preservatives, no

6:58

artificial colors or flavors, no bleached flour, and it's all non-GMO. You go to the website, build your box, choose how often you want it and boom it shows up at your door. Keep everything in your freezer and when you're ready to bake you have healthy high-quality food in under 25 minutes. Every single thing that I have tried from Wild Grain has literally been a smash hit in my household. So if you want to try Wild

7:21

Grain you can click the link in my description below or head to wild grain Calm slash Emma 30 and use the code Emma 30 at checkout for $30 off your order plus free croissants for life Thank you so much to wild green for sponsoring this video That is the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life and let's get back to work. And while I was working on organizing everything in the cabin, the guys switched me places and went over to the homestead and started working on getting

8:01

these ceiling joists out of my bedroom and over to the cabin safely under the tarps. And here's what the room looked like after the guys got all of the joists out. So now it's finally clear again and that makes me so happy. We had started this work day midday because the guys were already working on something else and by this time we were all super hot and tired so we called it a day and then came back for day two. This area in the cabin was a bedroom and will be a bedroom in the future. Everything you see in here is stuff that was already in the cabin that we decided to keep, although some of it

9:10

I'll probably still end up getting rid of. And after I saw the first shelf in the cabin, I realized that I wanted more, so I asked the guys to work on another shelf and I got started at the homestead working on bringing more stuff over and the guys got to work on another shelf. Just as a side note and a reminder, these are temporary shelves just to use this space for storage for now. These are just shelves that I asked the guys to make out of what I had lying around, so they're not the most

9:48

magnificent shelves, but they look great. Awesome. That's perfect.

10:01

Kind of what you were thinking?

10:02

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking.

10:04

Now I kind of want to do shelves everywhere.

10:06

On everything. Oh, that's a snake.

10:09

Oh my gosh.

10:10

That's a little one.

10:12

Of last week?

10:12

Yeah.

10:13

That's so crazy.

10:14

We were just talking about it, and then all of a sudden it's here.

10:16

Do you think it could be like a moccasin or anything? see. so Do you want to see something creepy and disgusting? Uh, sure.

11:25

There are those.

11:26

They're like skeletons or something.

11:27

Mice or something? That is crazy. Look at the skull.

11:30

Look at that mice.

11:31

Right there.

11:32

Oh yeah.

11:33

That actually is.

11:34

It's like a bunch of baby mice.

11:35

Baby mice?

11:36

Skeletons. Oh.

11:38

Oh no.

11:39

Those are bats.

11:40

No.

11:41

That's a bug. That actually is, it's like a bunch of baby mice. Baby mice? Skeletons. Oh. Oh no, those are bats.

11:47

No!

11:48

That's wild, it's got wings on it.

11:49

Woo! No!

11:50

See it?

11:51

Do you think it could have been a bird nest that was hatched in there? I don't see any beaks, so... so We didn't get every single thing out of the homestead, but we got a lot done and sometimes you just have to go with the flow. I'm just glad nobody died of a heatstroke because the heat was pretty unbearable that second day. I'm hoping to recruit some help to get the

12:45

rest of the items out from upstairs because they are all too heavy for me to remove myself. I'm also still getting quotes on the brick parapet wall rebuild. I have another brick mason coming next week to look at it and I'm really hoping to get that done ASAP so we can put a new roof on. But until then, there is plenty to do, so I'm just gonna keep rolling with it.

13:06

13:16

Haha dude!

13:17

Ooh!

13:18

Haha dude, you're gonna leave a little bit.

13:20

Haha.

13:21

Thank you all so much for sticking around, I hope that you enjoyed this clean out session. If you want to check out Heritage Row, the link is in the description below. You can also go to heritagerow.co.co.co. And there you will find some postal ephemera, some bottles, a couple books. And I'm so excited to keep sharing items that I have found over the next couple years on the site. There's so many things that I've found that I haven't actually

13:51

taken a good look at. There are envelopes that I haven't opened. I mean there it's just there's so many things I'll be getting to look through and add to the site kind of just as time goes on. In some ways it kind of feels like a kickstarter But you're actually getting something really cool when you donate aka buy an item Also, just a quick disclaimer with the items that I found you'll notice that I gave a description and that's just based on the research that I found online That may not be a hundred percent correct

14:19

So please don't take the descriptions as absolute truth the bottles I did soak them and try to get some of the dirt off. Clean them first if you're gonna like drink out of them or something, but I don't think most of you are doing that. So yeah, heritagerow.co. Link is in the description.

14:35

Enjoy shopping around. There will be so many more things uploaded to the site over the course of the next year or two, however long it takes. If you want to follow me on Instagram it's at holistic underscore underscore Emma. TikTok is at holistic underscore Emma. I am taking a little break from the daffodil post, which is my blog, just until I get heritage row kind of up and going. But if you want to go look at all of the old blog posts that I have written, the link is in the description below. I hope you all have a beautiful week and I will see you next week in
