a week alone in NYC: walking the city, book shopping, photo booth, matcha

I'm going up.It's very quiet so I feel really awful vlogging.I've come to Barnes first up today because I want to buy myself a book to read whilst I'm here and I'm thinking I'm gonna go straight to Central Park after this because this is very close to Central Park and I'm staying so close to Central Park which is just like my dream life so I'm gonna buy myself a book to read.I'm gonna have a better day.I'm gonna have a better day.Definitely want a summer book.

Look at this.Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful.I'm obsessed with how quiet it is in here however.Okay, I think I was back camera shy before.It was also just very busy when I was vlogging before so.Central Park.

My favourite place in the world!I found a relatively quiet spot.I don't think I've ever been this far up Central Park.I've mostly spent more time down the bottom of it.This is my view.You can see the city, that's the huge lake over there.

You're kidding, how is this place real?And this is the other side.I've found myself a tree, and wait...Let me chat you through what's been happening.It is also so unbelievably hot and that's me saying it.That is me saying it.

Someone who loves spending time in sauna.Someone who hates the cold more than anything.Like I love feeling too hot and I'm struggling.I'm struggling.Yesterday I think it was 32 degrees?No, 34 degrees Celsius.

Don't know what that is in Fahrenheit.And then today I think it's top of 36.Tomorrow's top of 38.Yeah.I called the subway yesterday.I felt like I was in a sauna and I was on there for maybe 20 minutes and my face was dripping in sweat.

My arms, like everything, my whole body was covered in sweat.And I was wearing the tiniest little, as in like the lightest little dress.And I was still so hot.I'm kind of loving it.I'm like complaining about it, but I love it.I went and got myself a coffee.

All of the ice is already melted, but I just feel like it's the weather where you constantly need an ice drink.On you at all times to not overheat.I found a quiet, shady spot in Central Park.Like, this is just my dream.I tell you what, I landed, well, as I was saying before, well, this is who I think I was.I think I started to say it and then I got to Barnes, but I arrived to New York not yesterday, the day before, like in the evening.

And yesterday I just spent the day walking.the whole day.I started at my hotel and I walked into Central Park down and then ended up in Soho which was such a long walk and then I caught the subway home.Subway home.Just kind of like meandering, looking around, going into shops, getting drinks, getting juices.I'm really on my juice grinder right now.

It was honestly perfect.It was just like, I just wanted a day where I was just walking and looking around and I had music in the whole day and it was just perfect and now today I'm just having another perfect day.I really wanted to, because, so basically, well, long story short, not sure if anyone cares, but Sam and I had booked this holiday, doing a big road trip around, and then I got the opportunity to go to L .A.last week, which you would have seen that vlog, to go to L .A.

, and so I was like, well, instead of flying back home to then just fly back to New York, it doesn't really, like, that doesn't make any sense.I flew from L .A.to New York.So I have a week in New York City alone, and then Sam meets me at the end of the week, and then our big trip starts, so.I'm so excited and I really just wanted to cosplay as much as I possibly could living here because I've been to New York a few times now and I'm also going to be here with Sam, who he is.

been here next week.I'm kind of like I don't really need to do any of the touristy bits or trying to like pack in my days full of so many activities from like I know I'm gonna do them with him.I just kind of want to pretend I live here and I just want to go for walks in Central Park and go to coffee shops and I booked a Pilates class for the morning.Take a book around and read in all of the reading spaces.Walk around the city and just pretend that I live here for a week.Really?

Is he going to say that?I think he will.Okay.Barnes Hall.I only bought one book I wanted easily four.Easily four.

Am I sweating?Surprisingly not.I am.You just can't see it.Oh, hot.Wow.

I'm going to take this off.Very excited.I've spent probably an hour in that Barnes just looking around.It was so quiet and I absolutely - Do you know what?Wait, I'm showing you my book.I was trying to choose between three books because I know I'll buy more books.

I'm like, I don't need to just go crazy right now at the first bookstore I go to.So.basically my my um criteria for this book was a summery read that i don't know if i'll finish it whilst i'm in new york but because then we're going to some beachy locations so i want it to be kind of like beachy related just like summer summer on the east coast i think i actually don't know if it's on the east coast but just like summery vibes because i want to just soak up all the summery feelings but i also want to read try not this one but as much as possible read books that are set in the place that i'm in so This is the book that I picked up.It's called The Shampoo Effect by Jenny Jackson.It's a signed edition, which is just crazy.Ellen Hildebrand said, in absolute delight, every single sentence feels fresh and alive.

The Shampoo Effect is a must, must, must for your summer reading list.And honestly, that kind of sold me.But also, it sounded, it just sounded quite interesting.It almost feels a little...

I'm jealous.

It almost sounds a little, a little, well okay one of the other books I was looking at was Happy Place because I really want to reread that but I was like I shouldn't buy another copy of Happy Place.I have so many at this point and I I kind of wanted to read a new book.Anyway, this kind of gave me similar energy because it's about a group of friends.It's set in Massachusetts, born and raised in this picturesque coastal village.Van runs with it.It's about a group of people.

Okay.

Yeah.

Just listen to this.This is like what the group does.Drinking on houseboats and spending long afternoons sunbathing with their children and playing games the way they always have.But when Bailey discovers that she's pregnant with Van's baby, which I think is like a bit messy because I think it's her ex -boyfriend, she falls pregnant.I'm not sure.The delicate balance of the group's friendship is thrown off.

Soon, Caroline is cast out of the circle on what she does next.The Shampoo Effect is a story of late night parties, early mornings with small children, the dawn of midlife, and a group of old friends finally growing up.Finally growing up despite all of their best efforts to the contrary.Do you know what I mean when I kind of said, like, happy place?Like, obviously not.Obviously not.

But I think I just felt like reading about a group of friends, bitter secrets, bitter drama, set in the East Coast.Sorry, I have my book.And I have my coffee, and I just walked into Central Park at the closest entrance that I had.I've stumbled across this absolute gem, and I'm like, well, now I want to spend my whole day here.Now I don't want to leave.And I have plans.

I have things that I wanted to do.What is the degrees right now?I just have to tell you.35 degrees right now.It's getting to 38 degrees today.I didn't realize.

Yeah, today and tomorrow.Look at that.I don't remember the last time I experienced 38 degrees.

Anyway, I actually just can't let this fall apart.

You know I've said this so many times about how I feel whenever I land into England.I feel like a lot of us have that one city that you're like it's I always feel like I could move there or whenever I go there I just feel so at peace or at home and london has always been like that for me and it'll always be like that for me or just england in general i just love it but as soon as i got out of the car and then was just like oh my gosh i'm in new york i kind of got the same feeling I can't believe I'm here and I'm so happy to be here and this is just going to be the best week ever.Anyway, can you tell I've been alone and not blogging for the last few days because I can't shut up?I'm going to sit here and read my book.Just, I don't think I've ever been happier.It's very nice in the shade as well.

I think being in the sun for more than five minutes in this heat isn't that good, but I'm very happy.I need to mark this.Where's my phone?I need to mark this location on my map so I can come back to it because I already know I'm obsessed with it.It's just so beautiful.unbelievably peaceful here and you just wouldn't expect that for the heart of New York City.

People watching in New York is probably some of the best people watching as well ever.And I feel like when you're alone, the people watching is just unmatched.Anyway, I need to actually stop talking.I'm going to sit down in my pool.I'm very sad.I feel very Horry Gilmore -esque with my tree and my book in Central Park.

Also, this is my second kind of, I suppose, proper me saying I'm going to stop talking.This is my second time, I suppose, solo traveling.I love it.I love it.I mean, obviously, I cannot wait until Sam is here and we can experience everything together.But I do love the feeling of being completely alone on the other side of the world from everyone that I know.

There's something so calming about it.Oh, my gosh, I'm reading about Boston.I'm going to be in Boston soon.This is so exciting.

I just love this so much.I know.

This is obviously my second time doing it, but I love solo traveling and I love the feeling that it gives you ofkind of like you could just do anything.I think as well being on just a complete opposite time zone to everyone that I know.No one I know wakes up until 4, 3, 4 p .

m my time and so it just feels so unplugged.

And in New York City of all places to be alone I think this is probably one of the best.Surely it has to be.Okay, I'm gonna stop talking.I actually need to stop talking.This clip is way too long.Um, but I just feel like I had to catch you up on everything and I'm so excited.

Let me start my book.This book smells incredible.This right here is perfect.This is perfect.Have I ever been happier in my entire life?I'm not sure.

This is my view when I look up.

Is that not magical?I hope you can feel how peaceful it is through the screen.This is seriously the most perfect thing I've ever done.The tree also has that perfect little divot for me.There's a bit of a breeze and it is warm but it is nice.I started this asset in New York City but she just talked about the Strand and I went to the Strand yesterday.

Down to, oh there's a Crestfield!Didn't know that.Took the subway down to Soho area I think, that's where I am, around there.And I just got a 12 matcha, which I had last time, and it's so good, they're so strong.I remember feeling last time I had it on, and I just had it last time, and that was not a good idea, let me tell you that.But now obviously I'm in Soho area, and so I think I'm just gonna wander around.

This area, maybe go to West Village.It is so unbelievably hot.I actually can't even describe it.It feels like some of the hottest sun I've ever felt.I might do a photo booth as well.There's one around here.

But honestly, if I've been out walking around for more than an hour, I start to get overheated.So then I have to walk into a store or get a drink or something.But I feel very wired and full of energy.I think they put six grams of matcha in each matcha there.So no wonder I'm like absolutely painful.I'm just gonna continue wandering, continue walking.

I will say the one thing I always am worrying about and I need to get some sort of power bank is my phone running out of battery and me being so far from where my hotel is. I think I'm only close to that like 40 or that 30 to 40.I'm about to get a bit nervy.I should also just bring my charger around with me because I feel like a lot of cafes and things have chargers or charging points.I'm just like if I, if my phone dies, i have no idea what i'll do oh my god it is actually so stupid hot out there i've come back to my hotel room however it is 6 15 p .m it's just so like i feel like i'm wasting so much time i'm wasting just being in it all because the sun doesn't set till likeI feel like it doesn't get dark until 9 p .m.

m.and so I'm like I should be out, I should be out, but I left at 9 a .m.this morning, it's 6 p .m.I did spend most of the day out.

I feel like that's pretty good.My feet are so sore.I did 25 ,000 steps yesterday and 18 ,000 steps today.So, as you can see, my feet are so sore.I'm gonna go for a walk and get dinner soon because I have been going to sleep.so late than last week.

I've been going to sleep like seriously at midnight every single night, which is obviously, as you know, not what I do.The last few days I've still woken up like 6 .30ish.I feel like today specifically is the first day where I'm like, I just feel so tired all day.And I think it's just because I've got, I'm just not sleeping long enough.I'm sleeping, I'm sleeping, but just not long enough.So I'm really going to try and have an early night.

I would love, I would love to be asleep by 10, 10 till six, like a solid eight hours.So I think I'm going to go out and get myself dinner soon.Not sure what I want.Like, I could go another Joe's.Also, I could kind of go Chipotle.I don't actually know where the closest is, but I could also go Chick -fil -A.

But I don't think there's a Chick -fil -A around.Here's the thing.The Joe and the Juice is 150 meters away.Okay, there is a Chipotle 400 meters away.See, that even feels like, that's almost a kilometer there and back.My feet hurt so much.

I mean, you know what I'm gonna do.Oh, I actually didn't buy that much, but I went to Brandy.Yep.It always manages to suck me in.Oh my God.Well, I tried this on last week if you saw.

my LA vlog.I didn't even buy it last week and then I was watching back the footage and I was like, I really actually do like it so I bought it.I really like it, I really like it.I'm loving pink right now, that specific pink.And then I also got this as I just thought this was such a mean top for our next couple locations when it's not 38 degrees.I thought this would just be the sweetest.

It has a little chuck on.I just loved it.So that's all I bought and obviously my book.Which I'm, how many pages, 32 pages in.Loving so far, I'm currently on the next character, or the next POV.Oh, I also, as you would have seen, but I also did a photo booth.

And it was so cool, there was so many different vintage photo booths, and there's no line, so.Did a little solo photo booth.I think I'm gonna use this as my bookmark.which I love doing, but I've had the best day.I'm currently just uploading my vlog.It's just so, I know I'm going to sound like a broken record, but it's just unbelievably hot.

Unbelievably hot, but I just meandered and I walked into shops and got the March of that 12.March was so good.I want another one.The line is just, I think it wasn't too long.I probably waited for like 20 minutes, but it was so good.I think I'm going to go to another March place tomorrow that I have been to before.

There's also another one called Rhythm Zero that I've been recommended.So I want to try that one as well.I also went.Whole Foods and got some chocolate and a kombucha.Let me show you the chocolate I got.Oh, wait, I actually got a few things.

I got True Fruit, obviously.Two of my favorite chocolates, Almond Crunch and Cashew Butter.This one is so good.And then a couple of B6, just to have on the go with me if I get a bit peckish.That's my whole, I think I'm, oh.It just feels like I haven't seized the day enough, but it's almost 6 .30 p .

m.Like I have seized the day because it's beautiful weather outside.I need to go out and do more, but I just don't think my feet can take more.No, I'm gonna walk and get dinner, and then I'm gonna come back and maybe watch some Sex and the City, because that's been my comfort show, although I have been kind of craving Gossip Girl whilst being here as well.And then I'm gonna read and have an early night, because I just think I need that reset.

m., and it's 35 degrees.I've never experienced this kind of heat in my entire life.This is insane.Good morning.Um, where am I going?

I just went to pull out my camera.No SD card, I'm just filming on my phone.But I am on my way to a Pilates class.I'm so excited.It's called Aura, Aura Yoga and Pilates.Yeah, this is it.

I'm very excited.I'm really cosplaying living here.Just got ready for the day.I put on one of my lightest, coolest feeling dresses that I have with me for today.I think it's the hottest day yet.When I left for Pilates this morning, it was already 35 degrees at 7 .45am.

Yep.I'm dressing as cool as physically possible, even though I know that just like, even if I was out there naked, I would still probably overheat.Also, I woke up with the sorest pimple on my cheek.Love, love, love.But this is the dress.It's just the Princess Polly one.

It kind of has shrunk a little, I fear.But it's so airy and flowy, so I feel like that would just be the best thing for today.All I want is an ice matcha, so I think I'm gonna go to Cerate.Probably not how you pronounce it, but I went last year, and I remember really, really liking it.I just need an ice matcha in this heat.Here's my issue.

Here's my issue.I didn't bring a tote bag with me. I had a specific reason for this.My specific reason was that I was going to buy myself a Trader Joe's bag as soon as I got to the city.It's probably my most used tote bag.It's perfect.It's perfect.

It's like $3.Anyway, I love my Trader Joe's tote bag more than anything, more than anything.And so I was like, well, I'm just going to buy myself a new one.I was really hoping to find a green one.Also, most unimportant thing I've ever talked about, by the way.I have been to Trader Joe's.

upwards of seven, maybe more, Trader Joe's in the last 24, 48 hours that I've been here.

None.

I haven't seen, I haven't seen one, haven't seen a single tote anywhere.I just thought I would be able to find one, at least one Trader Joe's.And my issue is, is I really want to take my book with me.However, the two bag options I have, this little bag and then this bag.Those are my two bag options.Obviously, both don't fit a book or my backpack, but I'm not going to move my backpack around.

But I really want to take this with me, but I also don't want to just carry it around the whole day.Like, every single day, I'm like, today's the day I'll find my Trader Joe's bag, and every single day, I haven't.She's nowhere to be seen.What shoes am I wearing today?Do I go sneakers again?I think it is the best option.

It just does require socks, which feels a little gross in 38 degrees.

So am I taking my book and just carrying around all day?Oh, it's such an important decision, I know.Cause I would love to go and read.It is a bit of a trek down to Soho from where I'm staying, cause I'm staying in the Upper West Side.The Upper West Side doesn't seem to have that many good market spots.They're all in Soho or down that area.

So I'm venturing to Soho every single day to get myself a market.So I'm like, do I want to trek around on the subway?walking around everywhere with a hardcover book, probably not.I need some luck today and I need to find my tote.It's me putting it out into the universe.I'm gonna be finding my tote today.

Every single time I walk out of my hotel, like I get used to being in the air conditioning, I walk out and I'm like...Like, it just genuinely feels like walking into a sauna.That is the best way I could describe it.It's insane.Anyway, I'm off to get matcha.I'm very excited.

What do you mean, this is my view?

Oh, I just love it here.Having one of those classes, like, I could so see myself living here while staying in the nicest part of the city and living completely above my needs for three days.But I could see myself living here.Is this the entrance?Yes.I tell you what, I have nailed, and like, I'm gonna treat my own horn, I've nailed the subway every single time, and I'm quite proud of that.

She doesn't even know that she's living my dream.I mean, maybe she does.

I was going to try and go to Madison Square Park, but I was on an express train and it was an air -conditioned express train.I was like, I'm not getting off.I was like, I'm just going to go back to Central Park.aren't I?This is my view and I went to Friendly Grocer which is basically New York's Air One and I got this chickenBLT wrap which looks so good I'm so hungry this tree is as good as my one yesterday it's no place to put you oh my god it smells good oh my gosh my stomach is rumbling I'm so hungry this is good I didn't go to Joe's I know I was like I should try something different oh my gosh wasp that's what it looks like yum okay look at me branching out Mmm, that is good.

I also loved it in there.The Happy Grocer.I spent a long time.How far have I walked today so far?It feels like a lot.9 ,000?

So I'm hoping I'm actually going to do it tonight.I'm actually going to do it tonight.Lights out reading by 9 .30 cause my eyes just still feel so tired.HIV from yesterday, when I was saying the same thing.Anyway, I didn't find a Trader Joe's bag today.I did only go into one, but when I went to the friendly grocer, they gave me this.

kind of fun so I'm gonna put my laptop and everything in there, maybe my book as well and then head off to my favorite place in the world.world.It's the way that yesterday I was walking around, I was like, could I legitimately, like I'm saying this with my full chest, legitimately franchise a gelatine juice on like August.I was really like, I wonder what it would involve, because why would I do it?Like completely serious, what would that look like?How much would it be?

Because I think it would do so well.Anyway, I'm saying all that, I'm gonna go to gelatine juice.I'm back at my happy place.Fourth of July today, which is wild.And for some reason I was expecting the city to be so busy today, but it's so quiet.It makes sense that everyone who lives in the city would go out.

They would go out to their beach houses in the heavens or something.But it's so quiet and it's so nice.I've come to the four story barns.I've already been in here for maybe half an hour and there's just, I'm almost overwhelmed.There's just so many books to look at, but I'm just having another day wandering the city.I kind of am considering going to Brooklyn today.

I'm not 100 % sure.I definitely want another matcha and I'm deciding whether to go back to 12 matcha because it was my favorite.However, it is a long way.But if it's quiet in the city, will it not be a long way?Does my outfit fit today?It's super cool because it's 36 degrees.

Actually, look, tomorrow's supposed to be 29 degrees.Next day, 23.Like going from 38 to 23 in two days.Insane.Anyway, that's my update.Just chilling.

I don't know.I think I said this in this vlog.I truly just think New York is one of the best cities to be alone in, but I'll probably spend quite a while in here because it's so nice and the aircon, which is something I never thought I'd say.I usually hate aircon.The fact that this book right here is on this table.I just waited too long for it to march up but it's too late.

It's so good.I don't regret it.It's probably the longest wait I've ever waited for matcha, but look at it.It's so good.Now I'm just walking to Cezanne, which I've seen.I've shopped, well, I've never actually bought anything, but I love it.

Saved so many of their pieces on Pinterest and stuff.And I didn't realize they had a store here until I was on TikTok yesterday and I saw someone go to Cezanne.I was like, well, I'll be going.I really thought that 12 Matcha would be really quiet because the city is so quiet.No, no, no, no, no.But like, tell me this isn't so quiet.

Like, look at this street.It feels kind of weird in a good way.It's morning, but it is now 7 p .m.and I've just gotten home.My feet hurt so much.

I did, I think over 20 ,000 steps today.I bought this shirt and I love it so much.I knew I would buy some sort of oversized shirt on this trip, so I didn't pack one with me.And I've missed, I've missed just coming home and putting an oversized shirt on.I love this color.I'm not sure if it's coming up.

very well on camera and I got it in a large so it was super oversized.I love it!I love it so much.Anyway, I ordered myself German juice.I went to the one close to me and it was shut at 6pm today because it's the 4th of July.You're kidding me!

So I just went on Uber Eats and ordered myself some to the hotel and I'm so happy.Oh!I got myself a DYS juice, of course.I'm very excited about that.And then a Joe's coffee.

Oh yeah!

Oh, I'm excited.I've never really been a juice person before, but ever since this juice, I'm obsessed with them.I think just walking around so much too.And the heat, it's the best.8 p .m.

, and I'm leaving.I'm leaving the house.It's supposed to be raining or a bit overcast the next kind of week in New York.I'm hoping it'll change, but just in case it doesn't, I needed to experience Central Park again in the good weather.And I haven't been outside for a sunset, I'm not sure.how sunset it will be because it's kind of looking a little bit overcast but I brought my book.

I got a tote today with something that I bought so I've got my book.I also check out tomorrow and go to the next hotel which isn't as close to Central Park and then Sam's gonna meet me there.I can't believe he's gonna be here tomorrow.He's literally just boarded his first flight.This time tomorrow he'll be here which is crazy.I'm so excited.

I was saying before I feel like I'm like gonna be a local showing him around.I'm obviously far from a local but I just he's never been to New York before.This is my fourth time in New York and he's never been and so I'm just so excited for him to be here.But yeah we originally had New York booked before I knew I was coming to LA and then gonna be spending the week here solo first and we're staying a bit further down.So I thought I'd just make the most of being this close to Central Park and take my book and hopefully see a nice sunset.in the park, I'm very excited.

I think the sun sets at like 9pm, so I won't, I don't really want to stay out past dark, or as it gets dark, so I probably won't stay there for too long.I also saw that there's fireworks at Brooklyn Bridge, which would be amazing to see, it would be so good to see.But I'm a bit scared to go all the way out there by myself at night, so I'm not gonna.

I can't get over how quiet it is, like, at this.

Is that not crazy?That's the start of Central Park just there.I'm staying so close.I just have to let you know, this is the best Joe's sandwich I've ever had in my entire life.I don't know what they've done differently.This is, I'm literally sitting here shaking my head because I can't believe how good it is. I checked into our new hotel, which I am shocked at how big this hotel room is in New York.

Like, this is, there's so much room.I got my suitcase out and like, look at how much I can walk.i'm still going it's crazy and then the bathroom is massive as well i'm so impressed it's hotel henry if anyone's wondering and i researched so much on hotels like i was on tiktok i was on instagram i was on google reviews i was on bookie .com reviews i was on like every single every single website you could possibly imagine i was on i wanted great location cheap like relatively cheap and like relatively nice so we didn't need we didn't need anything crazy like comfortable for a few tiktoks of this one and it was i believe it for for the area and for the hotel it was very reasonably priced in my opinion so i'm honestly so impressed with it it's a very easy check -in um they also actuallyI got here early because I checked out of my other hotel, which that hotel also is beautiful.They were so nice there.

But I checked out at 12 there and then I came straight here and check -in here is until three.And so I came in, I was like, hey, is my room available yet?Or can I just leave my bags here?And he was like, oh, well you are three hours early.And so that would normally be 75.And so we charged $75.

um that would be usd always like 75 dollars i was like there's no way i'm paying like what would that be 130 120 aud to have the room for the next couple hours i was like that's so fun i can just leave my bags and he was like but i'll give it to you well what do you say i was like i'll waive it i'll waive it and give it to you for free if you give us a google review and i was like well i can do that but how nice is this bathroom I'm so impressed.It's just so big also.Like it's a full -size bathroom.This is bigger than my bathroom at home.I will say though, I can't see any aircon controls and it's a little too cold in here for me.I've been complaining this whole vlog about how hot I am.

I'm like, no, I'm too cold.I'll be there.I've just been editing this vlog so far.I think I'm going to end it here because Sam is literally on his train from the airport to here right this very second.I'm so excited.I looked who he was walking around before when he was texting me and being like, I just landed.

He flew to somewhere in Canada, I can't remember where in Canada, but that was his lair.He landed there this morning and then flew into New York today.He's just landed and now he's on a train.And I was just thinking, I was like, I literally feel like butterflies, which is crazy.It's only been two weeks, but I feel like I haven't seen him in so long.And I'm just so excited for him to be here and for our trip to start.

Like obviously I have been away for a couple of weeks now but I feel like as soon as he gets here it's kind of like when our bucket list trip begins.I'm really calling this next month that we're going to be traveling our bucket list trip because we have talked about doing this for so long and I just can't believe we'redoing it.They've just been on my bucket list and our bucket list for so long.

I just can't believe it, I'm so excited!

But yeah, I think I'll end this vlog off now because this kind of wraps up my solo week here and then start a new vlog as soon as Sam gets here of the upcoming week.I think the upcoming week will be way more action -packed with I suppose some of the more touristy things and eating all the fun foods because I was literally, I was talking to Rach actually, she was like, have you eaten anything like other than Joe's?I was like, not really.But I also, and here's my reasons, here's my reasons.One, genuinely it was too hot.You know when it is too hot to eat anything other than like really, really cold foods, or if you're just too, too hot, you don't really feel that hungry all the time.

That's kind of how I felt this week.I mean, I had my first bagels today by the way, which was incredible.I went to Butterfield Market, loved.I got a smoothie and a bagel and it was so good.I also, for those playing along at home, it's not a Trader Joe's bag, but it's a Butterfield Market bag.And I thought it's really cute and I thought I'd use it a lot back home as well.

And it's a great size.I just thought it was a very me place.And it was like the most bougie, it was almost like a bit of an air one as well.Most bougie supermarket on the Upper East Side that I walked.I literally, I had the best morning, the best morning.I got up and I walked through Central Park because I was obviously staying on the West, the Upper West Side.

I walked through Central Park with my headphones in, listening to music.I've had Noah Khan or Olivia Rodrigo on repeat this whole time.And it's so funny because I'm walking around feeling the happiest ever, listening to the most sad songs.Anyway, walked through Central Park.to Butterfield Market on the Upper East Side and then I like walked around the Upper East Side and I spent some time in Butterfield Market.I definitely want to go back, I really want to take, well there's so much I want to do when Sam's here, but I really want to take him obviously to Central Park and I was thinking we could go to Butterfield Market, get a bunch of like picnicky bits and then

go have a picnic in the park.Sounds perfect.Was I saying something else?I feel like I was saying something else and I've forgotten what it was.Also, I was editing the footage from yesterday and I had a pimple patch on all of yesterday because I was like, it hides it more.I fear it just actually made that pimple, which is like kind of still there.

I don't know.

So much more obvious.That was good.Anyway, I just got my nails done!That's right, I was talking through my nails.So, did that, went to Butterfield, went back to my old hotel room, packed up, checked out, and then caught an Uber straight here.Had the Joe and the Juice, which is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life.

I think they just put a lot of pesto... like a lot of chicken the avocado was so creamy and a lot and like they put a lot I think they just really packed it and like the the bread was perfectly toasted like it wasn't too toasted it was just so good I will be going back to that location every single day um and then I decided to go get my nails done because I think I've decided that the natural nail life isn't for me um I really gave it a red hot go and maybe if I was like being a bit more proactive with at -home manicures and like keeping my nails a bit nicer.I would have liked it a bit more, but I just, I didn't like it.So I went and got my nails done.The most basic color.I went to Spa Blue, which I was recommended and it was so good.I just walked straight in.

They were so lovely.I was like, do you take ball pins?And they were like, yeah, absolutely.Take a seat.And they were so quick.Wasn't too expensive.

Like I was, I was a bit scared of how expensive it was.I think it was $59, which I honestly feel like it's kind of the same price when you convert it to Australia for gel.So I feel, I feel myself again.I do.I just feel very clean.Very happy about that.

Anyway, and then what did I do?I just walked around a bit.Classic.That's all I've been doing this week, just walking around.And now I thought I would try and get some of this vlog done.so I can be up to date.

That wraps up my solo week in New York.I really hope it's been interesting.I know I haven't done anything that crazy but I, again, just kind of wanted to cosplay being local for a week.So I hope you enjoyed.This next week is going to be action -packed, I bet, with so much food.I can't wait.

I've got a whole list on my phone of a bunch of different food places I want to go to.I think this is what I was saying before about not feeling like any food because it was so hot.Oh my gosh, I also...I don't think I...I was filming a reel of my day, so I don't think I was vlogging on top of it, as I should have been.But I went to Happy Grocer.

I went back to Happy Grocer yesterday, and I got the soft serve.It was one of the best things I've ever had in my life.It was so good.I think it was so hot.I got a sandwich, and then I had the soft serve.It was so good.

So I highly recommend.I will be back.I will be back.I now have just the biggest list on my phone of everything I want to eat this week, this upcoming week.Yeah, I have an NYC.notes app, I've got food, matcha slash coffee, bookstores, which I have been to all but one, photo booths, and then general like activities and things.

This is my food list.Yeah, I'm so excited.And the other reason why, this is what I was saying before, wow, I got so sidetracked, the other thing was I wanted to do all of these food things with Sam and I wanted to either experience it for the first time if I hadn't tried them yet, or I wanted it to be the first time in a long time that I'd had them with him.so it could really, you know, embrace the moment.Basically, those are just my excuses for how boring, even though, in my opinion, I did not eat boring at all, I ate this week.It honestly does kind of shock me that I'm still not yet sick of Joe and the Juice, and I wonder how, okay, if I had Joe and the Juice near me, how long would it take for me to be like, meh, like the novelty to wear off?

Would it ever wear off?Anyway.this doesn't need to be a whole chat this has now been recording for 14 minutes i need to shut up thank you so much for spending the week with me this week i was thinking i was doing a lot of thinking being alone and i think filming and taking my camera around and just being able to talk to my camera and document everything makes solo travel or makes being alone so much better like I just kind of don't really feel like I'm alone and I don't know it just kind of feels like I'm weirdly experiencing things with others which like I suppose I kind of am but anyway I just had the best week and I know I was kind of talking about this earlier on in the vlog was I?I think I was my camera running to watch back.I just believe that solo travel is one of the best things that you can ever, ever, ever do for yourself if you have the opportunity or the means.I think everyone should do at least one, it doesn't have to be massive, but at least one solo trip in their life.

I just couldn't rave about it enough.I think it is just incredible.I love it so much.Hope you've enjoyed spending the week alone with me.
