So let's bring in Danny backstrom now with the forecast

4:20

and Danny time this one out for us Rachel Sunday and Monday, let's talk alerts winter Winter storm warnings. Blizzard warnings already posted that blizzard warning from the Delmarva Peninsula up through Boston. That warning as much about wind as it is snow. So what's going on here? The perfect storm. Atmospherically, we've got atmospheric blocking, which means the low has time to develop. It looks like a mix or rain for the mid

4:40

Atlantic tomorrow afternoon, turning to snow as cold air ramps up. Then we'll see the gusty wind and heavy snow up the I-95 corridor from sunday night into monday morning. That storm system starts to pull away the second half of monday. We're looking at a foot plus for really highly populated areas. This is going to be a significant snowstorm, but again, we have to touch on the wind near the coast up to 60 MP per hour gusts. That can produce damage that can lead to power outages. It also creates whiteout conditions making travel dangerous if not impossible.

5:07

And it also leads to the coastal flooding, up to three feet of inundation during high tide. I know it's being compared to that storm four weeks ago, but remember with that wind component, the impacts will be worse with this one. I guess one silver lining is we moderate temperature

5:20

by the middle of the week, so hopefully we'll get some melting. And it can't come soon enough, all right, Dani. Thank you. We turn now to President Trump. He is defiant one day after that landmark ruling from the Supreme Court. The president now saying he will impose a 15% global tariff to replace those struck down by the nation's highest court. Here's ABC senior White House correspondent, Selena Wang.

5:40

Tonight, President Trump defiant, digging in on his trade war, announcing he's raising his new global tariffs to 15 percent. An increase from the 10 percent rate he imposed a day earlier, just hours after the Supreme Court ruled most of his sweeping tariffs are illegal.

5:57

The president moving swiftly to replace them using other legal authorities.

6:02

We have alternatives, great alternatives could be more money will take in more money. And will be a lot stronger for Trump

6:10

announcing that effective immediately he would be raising the 10% worldwide tariff on countries to the fully allowed in legally tested 15% level, adding that in the coming months, his administration will determine

6:24

an issue the new in legally permissible tariffs, percent level, adding that in the coming months, his administration will determine and issue the new illegally permissible tariffs. But those tariffs lasting only 150 days without congressional approval, Trump lashing out at the high court, calling its tariff decision ridiculous, poorly written and extraordinarily

6:40

anti-American.

6:41

I'm ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed for not having the courage to do what's right for our country. The decision

6:50

striking at the heart of Trump's economic agenda. But the court says he went too far, writing only Congress has the power to impose taxes. Economists say tariffs are actually taxes on American businesses who pass the cost of consumers by raising prices. By one estimate, the president's tariffs have cost American families an extra $1600 a year.

7:13

We're still looking at tariffs that are at, you know, the highest they've been since at least the 70s. There's a lot of chaos and uncertainty and that itself can take a toll on business decisions.

7:27

And we're just days away from the president's State of the Union address a chance for President Trump to tout his economic agenda. But the Supreme Court has just struck at the heart of that strategy and the justices behind that decision are expected to be seated right in front of the president. Trump for for his part, Rachel, says he couldn't care less

7:46

if the justices attend.

7:47

Selena, thank you. And as Selena mentioned, the State of the Union is on Tuesday. Join David Mir, myself, and our entire political team for special coverage Tuesday at 9 p.m. Eastern right here on ABC.

7:59

We move on now to other news in the U.S. military building up in the Middle East as President Trump weighs new strikes against Iran. The region on edge with Iran vowing to retaliate against any military strikes. Here's ABC's chief foreign correspondent Ian Pannel.

With the region on edge, a fresh wave of protests in Iran. Many chanting, long live the king. A few hundred protesters seen in the capital of Tehran after a bloody crackdown that left thousands dead just weeks ago. The demonstrations come amid mounting U.S. pressure on the regime. President Trump confirming the U.S. is considering a limited strike on Iran to force it to agree to a nuclear deal. But today, Iran's President Pazashkian defiant, saying, we won't bow down in the face of pressure

8:47

from world powers.

8:48

They better negotiate a fair deal.

8:50

They better negotiate.

8:52

You know, the people of Iran are a lot different than the leaders of Iran. And it's very, very, very sad situation.

9:00

Satellite images show the USS Gerald Ford sailing into the Mediterranean. It will be joined by more than 100 cargo planes, refueling tankers and fighter jets. The USS Abraham Lincoln strike group already in position. All told, there are around 35,000 US troops now in the region. Tonight, US officials telling ABC News they're relocating hundreds of personnel at a major military base in Qatar ahead of a possible strike on Iran. Another round of diplomatic talks is expected, but Iran warning if it is

9:35

attacked it'll respond decisively and that all US bases, facilities and assets of what it calls hostile forces would be legitimate targets. Rachel, as the US amasses its largest military force in the Middle East in years, the diplomatic process is still technically on track, but there are growing concerns that unless Iran makes major concessions on its nuclear program, then an attack by the US might be unavoidable.

10:02

Rachel?

10:03

President Trump urging Iran to make a deal quickly. Ian, thank you. House Speaker Mike Johnson is facing criticism tonight for denying a request to allow the late Jesse Jackson to lie in honor at the US Capitol. The civil rights icon and two-time presidential candidate died Tuesday. Johnson citing precedent, not politics, for denying the request. Next tonight, the search for Nancy Guhrie now entering its fourth week. Investigators are turning to Mexico for clues

10:28

to see if the 84-year-old was possibly taken across the border. And a non-profit group that works in the region is raising awareness about the case. Here's ABC's Melissa Dawn.

10:38

Tonight marks three weeks since Nancy Guthrie was last seen. The FBI is now in touch w over Guthrie's disappeara sources tell ABC News the was taken across the bord are exploring given Tucso

10:57

Mexico. Today we cross th billboards for Nancy Guth States. Now a neighboring has for Nancy Guthrie across neighboring states. Now a neighboring country here in Mexico has now Nancy Guthrie missing flyers posted up. It's a group of moms that are hoping that somebody just driving by this highly trafficked street straight into the border may see something and say something.

11:18

Elizabeth Lopez is part of Madres Buscadoras de Sonora, a group of moms who search for missing people in Mexico. Elizabeth tells us her son has been missing for over a year. is buscador as this Sonora who searched for missing tells us her son has been a year. She says she is d family going through this the Guthrie family. So th

11:40

send in a tip, it can be just so meaningful for yo

11:44

it means.

11:45

You say that you feel their pain, you feel the Guthrie's family pain, and that's why you all are stepping up to help and hoping that any effort, any tip can make a difference.

11:55

Back in Tucson, the Pima County Sheriff's Department putting up barricades near Guthrie's home today, turning the road into a one way street to accommodate residents and public service vehicles. Rachel, we're seeing a growing number of flowers being dropped off here at Nancy Guthrie's driveway. This as there's dozens of yellow ribbons across this neighborhood as authorities urge anyone with any tips to call them in.

12:17

All of us hoping for a break in this case, Melissa, thank you. Now to the investigation of former Prince Andrew. Police are searching his home after that stunning arrest this week. The king's brother is the first royal, arrested in almost 400 years,

12:31

and he's now facing removal from the line of succession. Here's ABC's Lama Hassan.

12:36

Tonight, detectives scouring the former home of the former prince for a third straight day, launching multiple lines of inquiry. Officers are believed to be looking for evidence that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor passed on confidential information

12:50

to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in his role as Britain's trade envoy. The Metropolitan Police now urging Andrew's protection officers, both past and present, to come forward with information that could help their investigation.

13:02

Authorities saying they're also working with U.S. law enforcement to determine whether airports in the U.K. were used to traffic young women for sex. Something Virginia Giuffre alleged, claiming she was trafficked by Epstein as a teenager

13:16

to have sex with a prince. Andrew denying these claims in that infamous BBC interview in 2019.

13:22

I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady.

13:27

None whatsoever.

13:28

Geoffrey died by suicide in 2025. The King's brother arrested on Thursday morning at Andrew's home on the King's estate in Sandringham on suspicion of misconduct in public office, an offence that carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. Andrew was held for almost 11 hours, then released without charge,

13:46

but remains under investigation. He also remains eighth in line to the British throne, for now.

13:52

I think that the pressure will mount and mount for that to happen. I mean, we have to remember that ultimately these things are a matter for Parliament. We are in a constitutional monarchy. But I think it's pretty straightforward.

14:04

It's a short piece of legislation.

14:05

I think it will happen.

14:06

Rachel, British lawmakers are discussing legislation to remove Andrew from the Royal line of succession. But that won't happen until the police have concluded their investigation.

14:16

Rachel.

14:16

All right, Lama, thank you. NASA is now taking steps to potentially roll back the Artemis II rocket and a spacecraft for unexpected repairs. The issue is now pushing the launch date to April or later. This will be the first crewed mission around the moon

14:30

in more than 50 years. So let's bring in ABC's Andrew Dimbert. And Andrew, how big of a setback is this?

14:36

Well, Rachel, it's a setback for NASA's next giant leap forward in terms of space travel. The Artemis 2 rocket is poised to carry astronauts around the moon for the first time in over 50 years, but now faces a potential delay after engineers detected a problem with a critical launch system. NASA says overnight monitoring revealed an interruption in helium flow inside the rocket's upper stage, and that is a system crucial to getting the spacecraft off the ground. Teams at the Kennedy Space Center are now preparing for the possibility of rolling this massive

space launch system and Orion capsule back into the Vehicle Assembly Building for a closer inspection. And as the NASA administrator put it, quote, this will almost assuredly impact the March launch window.

15:17

And the logistics of even just moving the rocket could also be complicated or even further delayed by approaching high winds in Florida, according to the space agency. The Artemis 2 is designed to send four astronauts on a historic lunar flyby. It is a pivotal step before NASA attempts to land humans back on the moon sometime later this decade. Rachel?

15:36

Andrew, thank you. Overseas now to the U.S. winning a record-setting 11 gold medals at the Winter Games. And more gold is up for grabs in the showdown between the US men's hockey team and Canada tomorrow. ABC's Marcus Moore is at the Winter Games. Hi Marcus.

16:07

16:23

The game will conclude just before the closing ceremony, and tonight it's been revealed that ice hockey legend Hillary Knight and ice dancer Evan Bates will carry the flag for Team USA during the ceremony. And Rachel, it will be extra special

16:35

as Team USA celebrates a new achievement, breaking the record for US gold medals in a Winter Games at 11.

16:41
