Welcome back to the channel everybody today's episode starts at the cabin, but not for long because Tomorrow we're leaving what many of you guys may not know is that I actually have a second cabin And it has wheels. This is my 2006 Mercedes Sprinter van Those of you guys who've been here for a while
Obviously. Oh, no, it's locked van those of you guys who've been here for a while, obviously.
Oh, no, it's locked.
Y'all know about the van last time I was in the van. I kind of left you guys on a cliffhanger. My van had some issues took it to the dealership got most of it fixed, but there's still a few things that I want to get squared away before I take it on another big road trip. So it's kind of just gotten pushed to the back burner because then I purchased the cabin,
jumped head first in on projects. But now that I've got my screen porch pretty much finished, it's time to revisit this project and get this van up and running so that we can do some traveling later this year. To fix my van, I'm gonna be taking it to Kansas City
to a shop that specializes in T1N diesel Mercedes van sprinter engines. I'm gonna have him go through, tell me everything that needs to be serviced and get that done once and for all. I got some front shocks for him to put on.
Pretty much took everything out of the van. Definitely ready to get back in here Do some exploring. So what does that mean for this week? Tomorrow I am headed up to Kansas City and waking up at the butt crack of dawn driving out to Kansas City Dropping my van off and then my neighbors are actually out of town right now and they're gonna be passing through Kansas City so they're gonna pick me up drop me back off at the cabin and that is all gonna happen tomorrow. It's gonna be a
very long day of driving but I am excited to get the van into the shop and get that baby back up and running. My goal for this week at the cabin is to get a few little tiny projects crossed off my list so that I can start on my next big project. But I'm telling myself I have to get these little things done before I start another big project. I'm not gonna lie, I am a little overwhelmed right now. Just there is so many things to do at the cabin my list just keeps getting longer and longer and longer also dealing with the van and you
know just other things in life so knowing that I have to take the van up to Kansas City and that's gonna be a big ordeal I'm not putting a ton of pressure on myself this week to get everything on my to-do list done I will be happy if I cross you know one or two things off the list. That's the goal for this week. We're gonna get things done and set ourselves up for success for the next big project. It is time to put all of my stuff away in my Hoosier.
I have all sorts of like kitchen stuff. I finally have dishes and silverware, which I haven't had since I moved in.
I got like an old crock pot.
I got all sorts of stuff that I have a place to put finally luckily, I had a silverware set that was passed down to me and a Corel dish set that somebody Somebody gave to me. I'm very grateful for that. I'm just gonna wipe this out and set this up. This is my Bentley cup set. My best friend Tess that I went to high school with,
I'm not even in the shot, her family owns Bentley and they make these plastic cups and they're my favorite ever. So I got the orange set because basketball, fighting Lana, go Lana. Here's my glasses. We're definitely gonna have to have a little burn pile. My Corral dishes are this brown design. I really like the traditional old-timey green design everybody thinks of when they think of Corral, but I like this. I feel like it goes with my cabin very nicely. Okay, I thought I had way more than I did, but now that I have everything in here
it looks like I have barely anything. Got my plates here. This is my little matcha set Got two different sizes and then I got two smaller size ones I'm gonna get that stackable with the shelf so I can have the plates little small bowls I don't know where my big bowls went only small bowls in this house favorite coffee mugs down here I got all my cups and then down here I got just bowls, Pyrex, miscellaneous stuff. I still
need to get a silverware organizer for my silverware but I just put some of my other stuff in here and I'm sure as I get more things and live in here a little bit more I'll have this a bit more organized. Down here I have my blender, the pitcher, the crockpot. That is a grill set. Got just Pyrex lids in there. This thing can hold a lot of stuff but for now this is everything that I need it works out quite nicely okay next thing I want to do today is hang this quilt hanger another estate
sale find you hang a quilt from this and it's nice and pretty $15 such a steal. So cute. Also can put it right here. And then you can put like little figurines on the top there.
I think that's what I'm going to do. Alright, how does it look?
I like it.
It seems pretty sturdy up there. And I have a hanging quilt that matches my quilt on my bed. I gotta find that. It's in storage somewhere, but I can hang that there and just switch it out. Maybe get some cute little thingies to put up there.
I think it looks really nice right there. I am about to eat cold watermelon on my screened-in porch, on my rocking chair, with a fork, because I have that now. It truly is the little things in life that are just the best.
One of the best parts of being back in Arkansas this summer
is the watermelon.
I've been eating watermelon all summer. Today I've just been chilling.
I'm gonna go to bed early tonight.
And I'm gonna be waking up early tomorrow
to go to Kansas City.
Oh man, it's beautiful out right now.
There's a nice breeze.
♪♪ I'm going to make a simple and delicious breakfast. I'm going to make a simple and delicious breakfast. I'm going to make a simple and delicious breakfast. I'm going to make a simple and delicious breakfast. I'm going to make a simple and delicious breakfast.
I'm going to make a simple and delicious breakfast. 🎵 Okay, let's try one. I did not follow a recipe. I just kind of like threw a bunch of stuff together so they're kind of strange. They're almost more cakey than cookie. The only thing I'm missing is milk. So good. I am not a morning person at all, so waking up this early feels like I'm a zombie, but I got to enjoy a really beautiful sunrise over the Boston Mountains. And of course I had to stop for some coffee and I gotta say Love's Colombian Blend coffee is so good. I love Love's when I'm traveling.
Alright guys I'm here early and I'm gonna stop in IKEA and see if I can find anything for the cabin. I love IKEA. Another thing I love is going to an IKEA. If y'all have never been I highly recommend but make sure you carve out some time because this store is huge. My watch clocked me walking over two miles in here. There's a map and a walkway and it leads you all through the
sections of the store.
Successful little Ikea haul. Now let's head to the shop. I started making my way to the sprinter shop and I was a little early so I routed to this cute little lake trail for a short hike. As you can imagine after using my phone all morning for directions I was a little early so I routed to this cute little lake trail for a short hike. As you can imagine after using my phone all morning for directions I was running a little low on charge so I was happy I brought the Taurus Flexline 67 watt retractable charger with me. I love this charger because it's a charging box
and a cord in one. So you can see here the charging cord is attached to the charger and it really nicely retracts right back in. Meaning all I have to keep up with is this box. I don't have to worry about the cord separately. It keeps it nice and organized where I can just throw it into my travel bag. It also has an extra USB-C port here so I can charge two things at once. And it has a 67 watt output, meaning that I can charge my phone really fast, up to 65%
in just 30 minutes. It's also equipped with advanced technology to keep the charging block cool while charging all of your devices. In addition to the Taurus Flexline 67 watt charging block, I also brought with me this mini mag charging block which is really cool because it's completely wireless and it just magnetizes to the back of your
cell phone so I can just pop this on and go. This little guy is really useful when I'm not near an outlet and need to charge my phone. I can take it with me hiking. Both the Flexline and the MiniMag are great solutions for on-the-go charging, and if you'd like to check them out for yourself, you can visit the link in my description. And thank you, Taurus, for sponsoring today's video.
Meanwhile, I successfully dropped my van off at the shop, got picked up by my neighbors, and started the five-hour journey back to the cabin. Hello! I always like to come talk to you guys on the porch. I'm back at the cabin! That was a long trip there. A lot of driving and just a lot in a very short time.
But, happy to be back in my peaceful oasis and I should hear back about the van within the next two weeks so I'll keep you guys updated on that hopefully I get a good report back pick it up and we'll be on the road to somewhere cool and now that we're back we need to get a few more things done this week I just meal prepped some food for the rest of the week and now I am going to go set my burn pile on fire finally because I have
not done that yet and I have a lot of cardboard and stuff. I'm working on getting one of those burn bucket things but for now it's just gonna be a pile. On the list of to-dos is to build a little fire pit for campfires. I just haven't gotten to that yet because it's too hot to do a campfire. Fall will be here before we know it and I'm so excited. One of the things I'm most excited about is just experiencing all
the different seasons. I can't wait to explore this trail once it turns winter and all this stuff dies. You can see there's a trail that goes down in there. We will wait until fall, winter, once all this poison ivy and stuff dies. Yeah, I can't wait to go up there. Good morning, everybody. I don't know if you can see me.
I have a lot to do today,
but first I'm going to show you guys
what I got from Ikea.
I didn't get much.
I got this little vase for this little fake plant. I wanna get real plants for the cabin, But once I get everything moved in and settled I am gonna move my cat Fifi in here with me a lot of House plants are toxic to cats and even if they weren't she would never leave them alone So fake plants it is and then I just got a metal cauldron strainer thing some knives Yeah, Ikea knives are so good.
Spatulas.
That it?
Oh, I got a toilet brush, but that's not important. The next important task that's happening today is going to be in the bathroom. I'm finally going to caulk my bathroom, which admittedly, this should have been done a long
time ago.
But, who wants to caulk their bathroom when they can build a screen and porch? Unfortunately, nothing in here is popped.
I don't know how anything works.
Okay, am I not crazy?
I think this is broken.
Look.
It's not supposed to be that way. Like, it's supposed to be... It's that way. Am I not crazy? I think this is broken. Look. It's not supposed to be that way. Like it's supposed to be... If that's broken, that means I have to drive...
Like an hour round trip. Why? Just... Just why?
I guess we're going on a road trip. So there I was, do dopping around minding my own business.
And then.
Guys, oh no, she's gonna get my downy.
I just found this kitten on the side of the road.
Oh no. What are you doing? Oh, it's okay girl.
We're gonna get you some food, sweetheart. Oh my goodness, what is going on? The cat distribution system picked me, why?
Guys, oh my gosh. Oh, how, how does this happen? Nothing, come on.
Oh, gonna have to go all the way back to town
and get your things. Come on, Finn.
She's so thirsty.
Why do I always find cats?
I guess I'm giving the cat no lunch.
Okay, I still haven't eaten my lunch. The roofing guys just came back because I added a few things to their docket I got kitten locked in the room, and I'm gonna head out and search around my this road to see if there's any more kittens And then I gotta go to doll here general and get her some food and a litter box and all these kitten things And then I'm gonna have to give her a bath because she probably has fleas I'm supposed to be caulking my bathroom! Come here, I got all sorts of stuff for you. Truly what is life? I don't know guys. I don't know. I can finally eat my full pork sandwich.
Anybody want a cat? No, she's not gonna live outside. Okay, baby girl has fleas. I just gave her a flea bath and she still has a bunch of fleas on her. So I'm going to run to the local vet and I have a bunch of bites and on my face already get her flea medication. And I'm sure that my house is now covered in fleas as well. Just figure that out later. Just ran to town, got kittens flea medication.
She said it should start working in like two hours. I just vacuumed Again, so hopefully I don't have fleas in my cabin now. Hey, what time is it? It's 230 I have spent all day and I have to work now computer work and stuff Editing so I can get you guys this video on Sunday Yeah, I don't know cocking the bathroom is gonna happen today, but now I have a gun from Walmart, so um, yeah. Good girl.
I think it is so incredible how cats are just like naturally potty trained.
You're so smart.
She went in her litter box.
I just went for a little walk to see if I could find any more kittens. I did not find any, but Kitty has eaten dinner. I brought her litter box out here and I spent the last little while trying to pick all the fleas off of her. Before it gets dark I am going to take down my string lights that I just put up last episode. These ones are super cute I got some incandescent in incandescent is
that how you say it? Bulbs from Lowe's and they're really dreamy and cute but they shatter really easily and they're only 13 feet long so I bought four boxes and it only covered half my porch and I was like alright this that's kind of ridiculous this is not what I need. I decided I'm gonna give these to my neighbor. I got in the mail today my new lights from Amazon. I'm gonna try my best not to crush little kitten who's under my feet while I do
this. Oh they're beautiful. Wow. Yay!
It looks so good! This Amazon set was the way to go. I think I have... I had the perfect amount of lights. These are LED lights, no shatter bulbs. And it came with a remote and I think a timer.
Cool.
You can make them brighter. Or dimmer. Wow. And you can even set them on a timer. I'm gonna make a Amazon page with everything I buy for my house because I got a lot of questions on the last video about the magnetic shelf thing. So anything I buy that you guys might like, I'll put in my Amazon store front so that if you guys want to try it for your house too, you'll know where to buy it. Now I'm going to make this into a little cat house for my kitty.
She's just laying around making biscuits. She's just happy, she knows she's safe, she's fed.
You're so cute. 🎵
Good morning!
Finally doing it, guys. Kitten is on the screen and porch. Good morning.
Finally doing it guys. The kitten is on the screen and porch.
I am going to get to work. Let's do this.
If y'all happen to see caulk in places that it's not supposed to be, mind your business. This is just as annoying as I figured it would be, which is why I've been putting it on for so long. My grip strength is not crawling over this. Silly, silly, silly, silly. This is, oh no. Oh All right guys, the bathroom is cocked finally. I did all that it was all around down under here and then all the way down to the floor. I don't know if I need to caulk like
these little
creases and then like Underneath don't mind that it's my dirty iron water that stains everything. Yay another thing Checked off the list. All right. I want to film just a real raw, honest moment right now. It's too hot in my bedroom. Only having one mini split isn't cutting it. So I wanna get another mini split for the bedroom. I'm gonna ride it out this summer,
but next summer for sure. Two, the mattress on that old bed is 50 plus years old and it's extremely uncomfortable. So I have been sleeping in my living room on my pull-out couch and it's very comfortable and it's cooler in here anyway so it just works but I've been so frustrated
for like a week because there's all these things that I want to do with my cabin, big projects, But I don't know how to do them and I don't know where to start. I want to do things on my own, like I don't always want to be asking people for help. And of course I do a ton of research and everything but maybe I'm just fearful of starting projects because like I said the projects I want to do are big and if I mess up on them then that would be really unfortunate because I would
Ruin my brand new home that I just bought so I don't know that's like what I'm stuck in right now And I know I'll get over it and just I need to just start and maybe it's fear That's holding me back from starting on these projects. There's so many things to do, but I'm stuck because I don't know which one to do first
or where to start. I don't know, I'm just blabbing, but that's where I'm at right now, real and honest from a first time homeowner. I'm just a girl, you know? We're gonna figure it out and it's gonna be fine, so.
All right, guys.
I think that's gonna do it for this week's episode. I gotta find this kitten a home and I kinda wanna do something fun this weekend, like hang out with my friends. And I feel like I need to step away for a little bit and let my ideas marinate in my head
and then come back with a clear mind to do what I want to do. This girl is so sweet!
Thank you so much for watching this week's episode. What a plot twist. What a turn of events we've had. Thank you as always for watching,
and I will see you on the next one. and I will see you on the next one.
Bye.
