The homeowner says that his yard has become a popular spot for dogs to go to the bathroom and as a result he says it's killing his bushes. So what he's done is installed these mats. They're called scat mats and they have rubber spikes on them. Well, it's really frustrated some neighbors and dog owners both here and on social media. The dogs passing by seem to know just not to step on this. Eric Wang said he meant no harm when installing these mats with rubber spikes on a portion of his lawn.
It doesn't puncture and for animals I think they just feel a little bit of discomfort.
He did it a few weeks ago after having to re-landscape when the original bushes died.
