‘Arrogant’ Albanese dismisses One Nation’s $2.2m ‘Fire the Liar’ campaign as Labor plummets in polls

Today more on the millions rolling in for One Nation and that attitude from the Prime Minister you just saw there with his head in the sand denying reality.Today One Nation's fire the liar donation drive has hit a whopping 2 .2 million dollars just 36 hours on from its launch and it's real money from real people says the party leader Pauline Hanson.

I can't imagine One Nation getting the support that we have.And that just says, to get that amount of money says the Australian people have had a gutful of him.They want him gone.

Now after all, as she says, if I'm running a campaign that's branding the Prime Minister a liar, well, I'm hardly credible if my own claims don't stack up.

Why would I call out the liar, fire the liar, then go and do something like that myself?It would destroy me.

Spot on.I've got the report for you, too.I'll get to that in a moment.But the prime minister, well, he doesn't believe her.When asked today about One Nation's donation campaign that insiders say dwarfs the paltry amount that's been raised by Labor, Anthony Albanese couldn't be more dismissive if he tried.Dismissive, indeed arrogant.

So what's driving that arrogance from Albanese?Because politically, it's a dumb move.All he does is fire up his supporters more, not less.Is it a glass jaw response there?given that the whole basis of this donation drivethe PM's lack of integrity and the fact that it's his lies that are torpedoing Labor's primary vote.

Is that what it is?Because now, instead of being Labor's lion killer, as he was last May with the federal election, Albanese is like an albatross for Labor.He's the bloke that's dragging down the Labor vote now, not boosting it.After all, Albanese can spit it whatever way he likes, but his lies are on camera for all to see.And that's really what's hurting Labor here.Because you can't deny reality or say your opponents are making it up when this is what voters see everywhere they look now on social media.

Negative gearing is off the table.

Not much you can say to that, is there?This morning on Breakfast Radio, Hanson's Chief of Staff James Ashby spoke with radio host 2GB host Ben Fordham.And even he expressed surprise at just how successful the campaign's been already.

I set this goal for the end of financial year because people can get that tax deductibility status when they actually give a donation up to $1 ,500.I thought that might prompt a few people, but not the 28 ,000 people that have made a contribution to this campaign.I think it will go down in history.It certainly goes down well in my history books.So look, it is big.It's going to give us that firepower.

Fordham then asked him how much he thought Labor had raised with their own anti -One Nation campaign that kicked everything off on Monday.And this was his startling response.Because if it's true, if what Ashby's being told is true, then the ALP really is in trouble.

I heard rumours yesterday that was 20 grand.It's not good.Labor insiders are saying it's very small.

Now, as I said here last night, In 2026, political campaigning demands that you react fast, that you're nimble, and to have any success, what you do must go viral.And that's where One Nation is right now.Just look at how quickly it took that line from my show on Monday night and turned it into a full -blown online campaign by Wednesday morning.It was something that Ashby was good enough to acknowledge this morning on Fordham.

Lastly, who came up with the line, fire the liar?

You wouldn't believe it, but I was talking to Peter Credlin and I was watching her show and I stole it off her.Nothing quite like a borrowed line right then.

I didn't give it to him.I said it on air, it was anyone's to steal.Others didn't steal it, that should have stolen it, but he did.In the political world, Ashby's winning because he's fast and he gets things out quickly.The turnaround times, they're sharp.He's sharp.

I reckon he's one of the best in the business and I've seen a few.So this says to me that One Nation's back end is professional and they are able to create opportunities from nothing.And look, forget any idea that these donations aren't real.That's a cheap shot from a very worried Labor.Given the risks involved to her credibility, there's no way these donations are fake.And more than that, if one nation is consistently polling a 30 plus primary and they have been doing so for months, well, blind Freddie will tell you, any appeal for donations always going to turn up big numbers.

Now, clearly, Labor can't count.But more than that, it shows me that even when faced with the reality of multiple polls showing that they are in trouble, Labor still doesn't want to believe it.Now, earlier today, to shut down their critics, including the PM, One Nation brought in independent experts to audit their website, proving that these donations are real.Well, the report's now in.I have seen and I've read through it all.And as I thought, as I've said to you just now, that show of support, those donations are real.

The millions and millions, two and a half million almost now, rolling in to fight Labor, are real.Now the PM's big problem with all of this today is he just doesn't want to believe his numbers are falling off a cliff.But that's dangerous.That is very dangerous.Because there's an iron law in politics.The moment you start believing your own BS, you're done.
