It really is up for grabs now.The words that Arsenal fans are desperate to hear have just been uttered legitimately.It's up for grabs now.Congratulations, Arsenal.You are the greatest club in the country.Arsenal Football Club are champions.

They are deserving champions.And ultimately, it was never in doubt.Arsenal deserve it.Mikel Arteta really deserves it.The way that he has built this team, the way that he has evolved as a manager, the way that he has tactically improved and the way that he has got it right.It is huge.

It really is huge.The way that he has steered this ship through some rocky, rocky waters.It's very impressive.And now, His name is etched into Arsenal folklore.His name is etched into Arsenal history.When you think about Arsenal, you always think about the same things, don't you?

Like, we all do.The second that you hear Arsenal Football Club, there are just connotations that come straight into your mind.You immediately, you start thinking about George Graham.You start thinking about Bertie Mee.You start thinking about Herbert Chapman.You immediately think about George Graham.

Guess what?Mikel Arteta's name is in that pantheon of greats.Herbert Chapman?Yeah.Michelottetta.George Graham.

Oh yeah, icon.Michelottetta.Bertie Mee.Oh yeah, Michelottetta.That is what Mikel Arteta has done.Arsenal have waited 22 years for a title.

There are an entire generation of Arsenal fans who have never really felt this feeling.They don't quite know how to act.Even if they were born, they haven't been able to acknowledge it and celebrate it in the way that they can now, thanks to Mikel Arteta.Arteta has taken this Arsenal team, this modern day definition of Arsenal, and he's taken them from nearly men to title winners, from also rams to champions.and The way that he has done it deserves so much respect like they were vulnerable Arsenal They felt toxic at times.They felt all over the place.

It felt like they had a weak underbelly.It felt like they'd lost their identity.Things were not good for Arsenal for a long time before Mikel Arteta got there.And then, at the very early years of Mikel Arteta, it wasn't great either.And it was, what, a year ago.Do you remember that banner at Anfield?

That banner.Always the bridesmaid.Do you remember when they made Mikel Arteta, rather terrifyingly, look like a bridesmaid?

Because they were second, they were second, they were second.It felt like they just couldn't get over the line.He's redefined them.He has made them winners.And that is so in keeping with Arsenal traditions.

Arsenal, up until Mikel Arteta came in, they won 13 league titles.Their record in the FA Cup is glorious.They are a title -winning machine.And that kind of stopped, that kind of paused.And he has put the Arsenal back into Arsenal.He has made them understand who they are again.

He has given them a kind of tenacious quality, filled the club with warriors.Like gladiatorial performances.Like that's what they are, they are bullies.They are hateful and they are bullies.And when I use words like that, it sounds really aggressive and awful, doesn't it?But words like aggressive, words like awful, words like hateful, words like bullies, words like gladiators, they're positive words when it comes to football.

In everyday society, no.But in football, absolutely.Absolutely bully your way to a title.Yes, please.Yes, please.Be cynical.

Be hateful.Be brilliant.And that's what Arsenal have done.It's very easy, you know, to go, oh, Arsenal have been ugly or whatever.And I find it so boring.Like, you know, that kind of conversation that I just don't engage.

But I'm going to kind of do an impression of it now, just to just to kind of dismiss it, because I think it's so reductive.

It's so pointless.You know, this whole, I'll do it, right.Arsenal are the worst champions ever Arsenal are worse than the Blackburn Rovers team that contains Stuart Ripley and Graham Lassoe and Mike Newell.They're not, are they?

They're not.And even if they are, who cares?They have won the league title.They don't have to entertain you.Arsenal's so boring.Yeah, you don't have a God -given right to be entertained, you bozo.

Nobody at Arsenal will care whether you are entertained at the moment.Do you know what's happening right now?

Right now, you've got really cynical, dull people talking to each other and trying to make each other feel better by going, this Arsenal team are really boring, this Arsenal team are the worst title winners ever, this Arsenal team couldn't compete with previous Arsenal teams, and do you know what's happening for the people that matter to Wateta?

The Caledonian Road is awash with red flares.The Gillespie Road has people climbing on bus stops, celebrating, going mad.People are currently lighting flares on the Barnsbury Estate.All over the world.There's a pub in New York, isn't there?The Pig, the Blind Pig, something like that, which is a very Arsenal -heavy pub.

That pub, right this second, right now, literally now, while people are kind of trying to make themselves feel better, telling them how rubbish this Arsenal team are and how boring they are, These people are lighting flares having the time of their life.These people are making history while everyone else tells each other how boring they are and pats each other on the back.It's pathetic.I just can't be doing with it.Arteta's rubbish.He's limped to a league title.

Won the league, you idiot.And they're in a European Cup final, you idiot.

Please stop talking to me and never talk to me again, you idiot.That's the kind of thing that's happening.And the way that he has built the team, I think he deserves credit.Bad day at the office.If you're one of those Arsenal fans that have existed on YouTube, I think, social media, you know the Arsenal fans that support to be Arsenal fans, but seemingly hate Mikel Arteta.I've never really seen that before.

When a manager, from the outside looking in, always looked like he was doing a good job, it always looked like MikelArteta was taking Arsenal in the right direction.But there seemed to be this swathe of Arsenal fans that just weren't having him at all.Look at what he's done.Look at the evolution of Arteta.Look at the tactical masterclass.

It's already there for all to see quite what a good manager he is.Yeah, has Arsenal ridden their luck?A little bit.Every title winner has ridden their luck, you fool.Have they got a bit lucky with VAR calls?Possibly.

But have they clearly been the best team in the country?Yes.Has Mikel Arteta driven them to be the best team in the country?Yes.Has Mikel Arteta's keen eye in the transfer market created this scenario?Yes.

Has Mikel Arteta's vision for Arsenal led them to this glorious moment?Yes.And for that he deserves credit.He deserves so much credit.People were very cynical about him when he came in.He came in and he was meant to be like a BTEC version of Pep Guardiola.

He was going to try and play the Guardiola way and they did to a degree.They played some beautiful football.There was that period where Arsenal were the best team in the country to look at.Aesthetically beautiful.Odegaard into Gabriel Jesus scoring goals galore.It was wonderful to watch.

Didn't win the league.

Didn't win the league because they weren't robust enough.They weren't ugly enough.So what did he do?He stopped trying to be a version of Pep Guardiola and he came up with his own vision and his own answer to combat Guardiola.And then people didn't like that either.So they played the expansive football and people called him a loser, called him a BTEC version of Guardiola.

Then he came up with his own way of doing things, which was to bully and be compact and make the most out of set pieces and whatever else, which again, there is nothing wrong with.That wasn't good enough either.So I think it's, I think it's just, it's just ridiculous.He's created a winning machine and he's done it by filling the team with gladiators and creating an us against them.You know his posturing on the touchline?It's going to be inspiring to his fans, to his fans.

You know, getting Gabriel Heinzer in amongst it.Like, Gabriel Heinzer, according to Roy Keane, is one of the most combative, aggressive men that he's ever played with.According to Roy Keane.Yeah, you want him on your side.Good appointment.Very good appointment.

And creating that kind of atmosphere amongst the players, that kind of belief and togetherness amongst the players, it bleeds into the support.Now, I don't think this is controversial.I don't think any Arsenal fan who goes to the Emirates, who's ever been to the Emirates, will think that this is inaccurate.And if it comes across as being snide, I really don't want it to be.I'm trying to make the point that Arteta's done a good job.But there was a time when the Emirates Stadium felt very flat.

There was a time when it felt very sanitised.There was a time when it didn't feel like it was the most tribal, or intimidating place to play football.It felt like you could go there and get a result.It was the antithesis of what Highbury was.Highbury was glorious.I'm old enough to have been to Highbury many times.

Seen us win 5 -0, seen us knock you out of Europe, but also seen us get beat, seen Thierry Henrys go like, yeah, you know.

Highbury was intimidating, compact, difficult.The Emirates hasn't always been like that.It has under Arteta recently.He's created a voluminous, passionate, colourful, engaging, intimidating stadium.The Emirates now pipes up.It makes a noise.

It's a difficult place to go and win.Very few teams go and get a positive result there.Because Arteta has made it home.Your home form is so important.Your home form is everything.And Arteta recognised that.

And he's made Arsenal so difficult to beat there.And now, when you think about all of the famous moments over the years of Arsenal, you know, just off the top of your head.Arsenal moment, go.

I'll go, okay, Mark Overmars scoring at Old Trafford.Sylvain Wiltord scoring at Old Trafford.Nicholas Anelka scoring at Wembley.The Wembley Cup Final where they sung Hot Stars.Started off the season, nothing stopped us.Everything was going right, right, right, right.

Remember that?Walking in a Bergkamp wonderland when Parlor was our ray of light.What am I doing?That, right?You can think of all these Arsenal moments, right?Thierry Henry flicking it up, scoring past Barthez.

What's up?Right, Thierry Henry running the length of the pitch against Tottenham.Seth Fabregas scoring from kick -off against Tottenham, right?

Whatever your moment, whatever your moment, you think about those, and all of a sudden, all of a sudden, this team are in it.You know those iconic Arsenal moments?

What?Tony Adams.Steve Bold chips it through, Tony Adams goes, scores against Everton, does that.They built a statue to that, haven't they?That's an Arsenal moment.Charlie George lying on the floor.

David Roecastle, it's up for grabs now.Michael Thomas, right?George Graham's team.You think of all those moments.This is that.Do you know the one I will always think of now, when I think about it?

So I said over Mars at Old Trafford.Do you know what else I think about?Trossard at the London Stadium.Trossard at West Ham.That's how big it is.That's how big it is.

Odegaard's performance.Odegaard's performance at West Ham is one of those moments that you just think, oh my God.So when I think about Arsenal now, right, and I can think about Ian Wright scoring against Chelsea, one of my first ever games, kind of back -kicked it in.This is now it.Arsenal are making history.Do you see what I'm saying here?

So you think about all of the Arsenal moments that define Arsenal, and you go, Bergkamp at Filbert Street.But then what do you do?Then you suddenly go, Max Dalman at Everton.Do you see what I mean?It's now.They're making history.

You start thinking about getting to a European Cup final and the way that they did it.Thierry Henry dancing past challenges at the Bernabeu.And now what's happening?They are coming.making history.And it is, it is truly, truly amazing.

Everything that you think about Arsenal is kind of now.Like all of the traditions that I know at a club, like you know that famous thing that they do about wearing the yellow ribbon?I feel like it's all being injected back and it must be brilliant to be an Arsenal fan now because it feels like you are potentially at the tip of the dynasty.Like, I know that we're getting way ahead of ourselves, and it's almost not the place for the conversation.But when you look at what's happened to the Premier League, you look at last year's champion Arnaud Slot looks like he's a busted flush, right?So kind of that.

Xabi Alonso's coming to Chelsea.Brilliant.I'm over the moon.I'm excited.But first season in the Premier League with this squad, with the owners, who knows, right?Who knows?

Unai Emery, Arsenal fans know enough about him to say that he's not the main man.Enzo Maresca, At Man City, probably.No Guardiola to worry about, no Klopp to worry about.And you suddenly start thinking about who's going to win the league next year.Arsene Wenger is a great of the English game, no doubt.Great of football, forget the English game, great of football.

Never retained a league.You start looking at the setting of football in this country, and you wonder if Mikel Arteta as champion, and we must always extend a courtesy to a champion because they are a champion.

Are you going to retain a league?Are you going to marry up the league with a European trophy?The European Cup no less, by the way.And you're suddenly like, oh my God, like what is happening here?They're building something that is, that is huge, like huge.

And this team, it feels like they're on the cusp of something amazing.I always think about that Declan Rice moment, you know, when he's going, it's not over, it's not over, he believed.And I think people mocked.What a boy he is, by the way, what a player.You know, when you think about the, like, swashbuckling arsenal with Fielders.Early I said Arsenal were going to win the league.

Not right at the beginning, I thought Liverpool were on for it.But very early it became clear that Arsenal were the best team in the league.Do you know why they were always going to win the league?And why I said it?I said it last night.I did a review last night, I put it up 24 hours ago, where Arsenal fans got quite annoyed because I said it was over.

Do you know why it was over?Because Declan Rice was never going to let you lose the league.It's never going to happen.Saliba was never going to let it happen.David Ryer, oh my God.What a keeper, best keeper in the world, was never going to let it happen.

And I tell you what, anyone that doubted Rice, remember all that, it's not over.He's been ridiculed.He's a champion.He is now a champion.And people will say, and try and be cynical and say, oh, they do it in a boring way, or they don't do it in the right way, or they don't really play the expansive game.And you're like, you're an idiot if you think that.

You're an idiot if you delight in that.You're an idiot if you think that Mikel Arteta has a duty to entertain you, whoever the hell you are.

If you do truly believe that you aren't entertained and that your right to be entertained should be right up there on Mikel Arteta's priority list, you're the most conceited man in the world.

It is amazing.I mean, it really is amazing.Ultimately, Arsenal are champions and anyone that's trying to belittle them or trying to be cynical about them or whatever, there is just nothing to say.And I'll tell you what, Paris Saint -Germain are up next.They could be making more history.You could doubt them.

in that Paris Saint -Germain game.It's kind of an epiphany.It's like, you could doubt Mikel Arteta, but now he's a champion, so shut the hell up.You just can't.You could almost go, oh, Paris Saint -Germain are going to wipe the floor with Arsenal.And you might have had a foothold in your opinion.

You might have been able to rationalise it.But not anymore.They're winners.They're not also rants.They're not nearly men.They're not contenders.

They are champions for the first time in 22 years.

This is history.In 100 years, when we're all dead, this will be being discussed.As we know, what happened under Arsenal previous era is Herbert Chapman.That's relevant to today.Mikel Arteta is now part of it.He's part of the furniture.

He's part of the fabric.The rich tapestry that is Arsenal now includes Trossard, Odegaard, Saka.And you can't say that they aren't capable.

And I tell you what, you don't want to talk about Dynasty on the day that they win it because it's not really the point.They've won the league today.That's all that matters.But no Pep, likely to be Maresca at City.Slot's gone wrong.Xabi Alonso, who knows?

I mean, it's a good time to be an Arsenal fan.Not a good day to be me.Begrudgingly, I must say, they're the best team in the country.They deserve it.Fair play Arsenal, we're coming for you next year, but this is your title, you well and truly deserve it.Best team in the country, no doubt, it's up for grabs now.
