We have some major breaking news out of British Columbia. The head of the RCMP for the entire province has just been relieved of his duty. His name is Dwayne McDonald, he's deputy commissioner, basically the guy running the RCMP in British Columbia. As for why, we don't know.Other than unnamed allegations from 2016 to 2018, they're still investigating, whatever that is.There is also an interim commanding officer in charge now.
The RCMP is saying what the RCMP will do at a time like this. They have full confidence and so on.Also, and this is unrelated to the commissioner's removal, the CBC and other media today want access to documents showing the RCMP's investigation into the Tumblr Ridge shooting.
Interestingly, the CBC says the documents that they got from the RCMP blacked out timestamps on the chronology of events. So it's not clear how much time elapsed between the events documented. For example, while the report seems to show how much time passed between the first 911 call and police entering the school, we the public can't tell how much time that was because of those redactions. Also blocked out, almost everything about the shooter's social media accounts, seven pages worth.
