BREAKING NEWS: 🚨 Chelsea HIJACK Arsenal’s £105m Rogers Deal

Hi and welcome along to AFTV here with a bit of breaking news which is absolutely massive this evening and right out of the blue that Morgan Rodgers is leaving Aston Villa for a record -breaking £117 million.But he's not going to Arsenal, he's going to Chelsea.This is absolutely incredible news that has broken today.I was reporting on this morning's Transfer Daily saying that, you know, It looks like he's definitely going to be going.Arsenal have been talking to senior representatives at Aston Villa.They're in advanced talks that Villa were willing to sell and that personal terms weren't going to be a problem with Arsenal.

But big breaking news tonight that he has chosen to go to Chelsea instead.Exclusively broken by the respected journalist David Ornstein.in a tweet, or should I say on X, where he said, Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Aston Villa to sign Morgan Rodgers.A bid of £170 million, that's a record for an English player, has been accepted by Aston Villa and is being finalised.A six -year plus one contract is being offered.He's having his medical on Monday at Chelsea.

He goes on to say that Arsenal were interested but the 23 -year -old wanted Chelsea.Crazy!And Xavi Alonso was instrumental in the move.This one has really come out of the blue.Chelsea have not really been active in trying to get Morgan Rodgers up until now.You know, there's been little rumours around Chelsea may be interested.

The team that, actually the other London team that seemed quite interested in a possible deal was Spurs, but he has chosen to go to Chelsea.He's notgoing to be coming to Arsenal and that will be a big blow you know make no mistake about it that would be a big blow to Andrew Roberta to Mikel Arteta because he was the number one target for Arsenal this summer and he now by the looks of what David Ornstein is saying he's not coming to Arsenal it's been hijacked and that he wanted to go to Chelsea over Arsenal now he What's so significant about that and what's so kind of very surprising about that is that, listen, a couple of seasons ago, two, three seasons ago, you might have said, it's not a surprise.A lot of players would choose Chelsea over Arsenal.

Chelsea were being, spending big money, Champions League football, you know, the spending power of Chelsea has always been there for about over the last decade or so.But in recent times with what Arsenal have done, they won the title last year.

And what does this do to the market?£170 million.The agreement for Elliot Anderson went up to around about, well, it was slightly under that, but taking it up to $118 with add -ons.What does that do to the market now with all these players?I mean, if Arsenal do go in for a Barcola, it's going to be round about the same sort of price they're going to be expecting.
