Carney Just Made a Dangerous Mistake

Mark Carney slipping in the polls and what's the natural reaction?Oh, we know what it is.It's attacking Donald Trump.Welcome back to Moose and Loose.Today, we've got Carney taking a jab at Donald Trump because that's what any rational world leader does when they're trying to get a deal with this guy for their country, right?We've got a bunch of other stuff here.

Let's jump into this.Starting this episode off, we've got this from the Prime Minister of Canada account.It shows Prime Minister Mark Carney speaks with President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Zayed, you can see this from August 5th, has Canada's largest export market in the Middle East with two way trade growing 10 % a year.This agreement with lower tariffs create new opportunities for Canadian workers, Canadian businesses with greater access.I mean, how many businesses are going to be sending products to the UAE unless they're like big machines that cost a lot of money where it's worth it because they're selling these things for hundreds of thousands of dollars.People making dishrags and widgets and this and that.

They're not selling this stuff to the Middle East.It says here access to the 700 billion economy.Like, let's get real.Most of the stuff gets sold to either Canadians or Americans.That's it.Moving ahead, seeing this in Calgary, Alberta.

What is this?Apparently this says in Punjabi, it translates to hail strikes with force.Prepare your home for every weather.So they do get some pretty gnarly hailstorms in Alberta.Why is this in Punjabi?It's not even in English.

group helping Jewish families flee Canada urges Trump administration to offer refugee status.I mean, this is an embarrassment.There shouldn't be a single Jewish person in Canada that votes for the Liberals ever.Moving ahead, we got Mark Carney here talking housing measures, except, well, the question's not really talking about housing measures.

But first off, we know he's tanking in the polls because what does he bring up in this press conference?allies to withdraw membership and funding.Are you doing anything to defend the ICC?And why haven't you spoken up for the Canadian judge under American sanctions?

Well, first, Canada is a proud member of the International Criminal Court.We support it with funding.We support it with personnel.We support it with our values.We support it with our actions.And we will continue to do so.

It provides an essential service in a world that is more dangerous, more divided.In fact, in many respects, its responsibilities are ever greater.

This guy is such a clown.He just, he couldn't help himself.You know what I noticed here?Most of these questions are crappy.Even one of the questions they're asking about the head of FIFA.Like, who cares?

That's not a problem in Canada.His whole scandal thing going on there.But the best questions come from people with the thickest accents.These are people who immigrated to Canada at some point.They love our country.They're invested here and they don't like what they're seeing.

They're asking the best questions, period.Now, jumping ahead in this press conference, we got Carney getting asked about getting a deal with Donald Trump and all of this.

On the trade front, we understand that there have been detailed discussions on steel and aluminum tariffs, but significantly less on autos.So would you accept a deal that punts auto tariffs to the more extensive USMCA negotiations next year?

Canada has been very clear.We want all 232s addressed.All strategic sectors, which to be clear,clarity so it cuts out here works but it's not stopping well you don't know that you don't know that I know what's being discussed I'm part of those discussions so Canada's position is, as I just stated, and that's what we say in the room.

Next question.Jumping ahead here, well, technically, this was earlier in the press conference, Mark Carney giving his initial remarks.As he's going through French here, he realizes the teleprompter stops working.What does he do?He takes a jab at Donald Trump.

I would like to inform you that the teleprompter has ceased to function.Unlike a certain world leader, I do not view this as a conspiracy.

It's such a joke to him.I mean, there's steel, auto, lumber, tool and dye workers who have lost their jobs.This is not a joke.This guy is a clown.He's not a serious prime minister.He's an absolute loser.

Going back to September 25th, 2025, this is what he's referring to.Donald Trump speaking at the UN General Assembly.

Thank you very much.Very much appreciated.And I don't mind making this speech without a teleprompter.because the teleprompter is not working.I feel very happy to be up here with you nevertheless, and that way you speak more from the heart.I can only say that whoever's operating this teleprompter is in big trouble.

That look is like, oof.It just goes on and on.This speech, he just went off.I remember this one.He was just straight off the cuff.Now, towards the end, this is what he also said.

In any of them, I ended seven wars, dealt with the leaders of each and every one of these countries, and never even received a phone call from the United Nations offering to help in finalizing the deal.All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that on the way up stopped right in the middle.If the first lady wasn't in great shape, she would have fallen.But she's in great shape.We're both in good shape.We both stood.

If you're not aware, when as soon as he went to step on the escalator, they clearly shut it off just to kind of stick it to him and made them walk up the escalator.It's an embarrassment.

And then a teleprompter that didn't work.This is these are the two things I got from the United Nations, a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter.

So this is Donald Trump, clearly, I mean, if he's giving an hour speech, clearly he's pissed off about not having the teleprompter.Meanwhile, what's Carney got to say?

I would like to inform you that the teleprompter has ceased to function.Unlike a certain world leader, I do not view this as a conspiracy.

I mean, it's not a conspiracy.It's quite obvious.I mean, a lot of people in the United Nations don't like Donald Trump.They cut off the teleprompter.They shot off the escalator.Like, it's obvious.

Like, let's get real.Carney has zero interest of getting a deal and helping Canadians get their jobs back or help the stop of job losses.He'll take shots whenever he can, wherever it makes sense at Donald Trump, trying to steer this up, get people all scared.Oh, the scary Donald Trump's going to invade us and steal all our water.Dangerous and divided world.This madness must end.

Canadians have to wake up.at some point.Moving ahead we got a panel here on CBC talking about Mark Wiseman, Janice Charette, the whole crew going toonce again to Washington to negotiate a deal.

Stevie, I'm going to start with you.What do you make of the fact that both LeBlanc and Charette are back in D .C.

?I think that they are doing what they've said they're going to be doing all along.Conversations are going.You can sort of disregard some of the performative aspects of Trump's negotiating style and some of the rhetoric and all of the cliffhangers and say, no, the Canadian government is working on this.And they are, they're there, they're ready to intensify negotiations, they're ready to put, you know, put in the work.And I think what we, what we're looking for here is not a quick deal, it's the right deal.

So while maybe things are intensifying a little bit with this new looming deadline, the latest in these sort of cliffhanger, Trump cliffhangers, I think what we want is for our negotiators to not just sign anything, but to sign something that protects Kuzma into the future.

Kate, what do you make that they're back already in D .C.already again?I think you'll find cross -partisan consensus that it's a good thing to be at the table.We can probably quibble over whether or not that should have started.kind of before that looming deadline, I think, as Stevie put it, was put into place.

But the deadline's here.We have a date to work towards.And, you know, it can't be understated how important it is that those conversations go well.They're about 20 billion dollars worth of goods that could be impacted by the 50 percent tariff.And that's, yes, in part paid by by American consumers.But a lot of exporters of goods, of course, absorb those costs, which means then Canadians are paying them.

They also have there's also an impact in terms of businesses losing out to American competitors.

And so on top of that, businesses will stop making money and then they have to shut down and then they lay off people.If you can't make a profit doing it and some of these profit There's some.low, well, then businesses in Canada go bankrupt from it.

The stakes are enormously high.I do think that given how important this is to the national economy, we deserve some more transparency from the government.Nobody's looking right now for term sheets between countries.But at the same time, we seem to only really get upstates from whenever Jameson Greer takes the screen.on U .S.

media and not so much from the Canadian side.And so I do think given the prime minister campaigned on this, they could be more forthcoming with where we currently sit and what's actually on the table.

Nathan, what do you make of this?

Yeah, Carney's not going to be forthcoming aside from it's a dangerous and divided world.And, oh, I want to include all the sectors.So a deal will never be done.We have more than enough leverage, positive leverage, as PolyEv has pointed out, to get this deal done.We've got this one on 604RAW showing more newcomers dumping drywall in a field.So this is the only shot we get of this guy, but I mean, clearly, if I'm a betting man, I mean, this guy's clearly from Pakistan or India.

He may have been born here, but dumping drywall in a field, that's not a Canadian thing.That's not a Canadian value.This is a dead giveaway that you're from another country.So there's the license plate XB8562.There's the drywall, a big pile of it.Like this needs a serious penalty.

$10 ,000 fine.Take away licenses.Deport.Looks like a fake license plate.I think that's a British Columbian one.I don't know if that's fake, but this needs an immediate 10K fine.

No excuses, no exceptions.Are you kidding me?I'm retired, but if any of my crews ever got caught doing this, I know my fines would have been in the tens of thousands.Fine, cleanup, environmental tests, and so on.And that's just it.I think a lot of these newcomers, they don't like really care.

They don't really know the rules or it doesn't matter.They don't really care.they could get fine $10 ,000 for dumping their drywall in a field.People don't respect their own land.Everywhere they go, they dump their garbage, which makes the West a third world crap hole little by little.I mean, we need to have newcomers sign off on this, literally sign off.

If they're caught dumping garbage, it's immediate deportation.We're doing this again.We've got a map of India.We've got Google Street View.Let's drop this up in the north here somewhere in Punjab.What do we have?

What do you know?It's garbage.It's lots of garbage.Every single time there's garbage on Google Street View in India.And granted, they got serious waste management problems there.They've got big population.

But the culture, the people are used to this.They're like, oh, I got some garbage.I got too much here.I'll just go throw this out in the environment.We have to get people to sign off that you're not allowed to do this or it's immediate deportation.It needs to be that serious.

I don't want my country to look like this.We'll do one more.Let's do something in the south, like way down here.What do you know?More garbage.Garbage, garbage everywhere.

This is India.We're literally just every side of the street, every market.These look like hotels.It's just garbage everywhere.It's time for the Liberals to wake up and realize what our country's turning into.Moving ahead here, we've got once again another case of someone dumping garbage in these green fields of Canada.

You take it to the dump, you pay your 10 or 15 bucks, they'll take it.They'll take everything.So good on this guy for shaming these people.They have to be shamed every time because I have a hard time believing this guy was born and raised in Canada because Canadians don't do this.We don't dump garbage in the woods, in the forest, in the farmer's field is what this looks like.We don't do that here.

You want to do that, then go to another country.Probably cost more to rent that truck than it would be to take it to the dump.I mean, that's the truth of it.You could call one of those companies that comes and picks up the stuff cheaper than renting the U -Haul and taking it out there.Everyone's saying it.That should be a deportable offense.

People dropping hot carls at the gas station.Deportable offense.Like we need to have strict rules and people don't want to adhere to Canadian rules.You're out of here.Just boom.You're gone.
