Carney's Arrogance on Full Display After Reporter Calls Out His Concessions

He's bringing it back.Welcome back to Moose and Loose.Today, we've got Carney bringing back his arrogant side, showcasing it for the world during a press conference with Daniel Smith.We've got liberals blocking investigations.We've got some other stuff here.Let's jump into this.

So they go to the vote here.Yes, no, yes, no.Obviously the Liberals voting yes to adjourn the meeting wouldn't want to have any sort of oversight into the financials of what's going on with the Gordie Howe Bridge, considering Mark Carney lied to Canadians.Conservatives vote against this.

This is an embarrassment.How many times has this happened now?I lost count.Five, six, seven times the Liberals have blocked investigation into things.This should be against the law, what they're doing here.You know, look at the comments.

There's a lot of angry people.What's the point of having committees of even discussing anything if they can just shut stuff down?Like we're turning into a dictatorship.Moving ahead, we got Mark Carney and Daniel Smith doing a press conference on housing.And well, Carney gets heckled on his way into town.

What brought you up today?I've been standing in freedom for the last six years.I'm from Northern Ontario.

He finally just said it, he's creating a new industry, one that Brookfield's invested in, he's invested in, that he'll get stinking rich off of.He finally said it, creating a new industry.Why would we pay 20 to 30 billion dollars to suck CO2 out of the air and don't create any value aside from creating a carbon industry that he and Brookfield are invested in?Like, this is absolutely absurd that media across the country are not calling this out.Why is he holding energy prosperity and selling our energy to the world markets hostage so he can make money with Brookfield?It's just unbelievable.

Now I want to point out Daniel Smith's video here, talking about the pipeline.

So she goes over all the different reasons.

Jobs, it creates more jobs, $400 a day.,000 new jobs.Number two is royalties and revenues.This brings in royalties to Alberta, pays for health care, education, public safety because they have low taxes.That's how they pay for things.It's a very well done educational video.

Talks about how much money this will bring in over the long term, 50 years, this pipeline.Number three is pipeline investment returns.These pipelines make money.Number four, world class expertise and speed of construction.And number five is decreased regulatory risk.Now, why bring this up?

is because when she starts talking about the previous administration, Stephen Guybaut, Justin Trudeau, she is very, very, very careful not point any of this at Mark Carney.

Not to mention their economy -killing production cap intended to phase out Canada's oil and gas sector, our country's largest and most lucrative industry.What on earth were they thinking?Thankfully, those two are now gone and things are starting to improve.For example, we are now rid of that oil and gas production cap and the net zero power regulations.And the new Building Canada Act helps us address most of the issues created by Trudeau's Bill C -69.

Canadians.I don't like the route she's going with this.She is kissing the ring here.It's not worth it to get the pipeline going to bring in a carbon market that saddles us with more debt and taxes that will be really hard to get rid of.And that's why she was praising Carney on CBC the other week.She has to kiss the ring or this is not going to happen.

I would rather us go to another levelin two and a half years, get rid of Mark Carney and then build a pipeline versus doing one and starting one now and getting saddled with a new carbon market.That'll be hard for Pauliev and the conservatives to get rid of.I do not like what she's doing here.

Called no new pipelines legislation passed several years ago, but undoing the damage to our country's investment reputation cannot be accomplished overnight.It will take many months and years of sustainability.

take any of their port economy that has to move through Alberta, emitting tons of CO2 via trucks, train and airplane.There's valid arguments here.And there's plenty of pipeline projects we could be doing and forcing or extorting Canadians to have carbon capture, carbon credit system as the only way to do a pipeline is ridiculous.Now, moving ahead here, we got Mark Carney snapping at a reporter from the Globe and Mail.He does not like this question.And just think about all the things I brought up on the channel reading body language.

Mark Carney, when he's uncomfortable, he always looks for the mouse under the podium.This is the biggest example ever.I don't know if it was a mouse under there or if it's a raccoon or a full -grown cougar, but look at this.

What has Canada gotten in return for these concessions?

Well, let's do a couple things.Sorry, I'm going to do a little premise surgery for your question.

Wow, premise surgery.He got it so wrong.Don't worry, Mr. Arrogant Mark Carney here can sort all this out for you because your intelligence is too low, reporter at the Globe and Mail.

Let's be clear about the bridge.First off, the bridge is open.The bridge is open in a region, a narrow economic region, that has $300 billion of economic activity that goes across land connections between the United States and largely the province of Ontario.$300 billion of economic activity.$6 .5 billion cost of that bridge.It's less than 5 % of that amount.

Less than 5%.

Less than 5 % of that amount.You notice he keeps using his finger like this.He's talking down.He's treating this reporter and talking down to him like he's a child.

Less than 5 % of that amount.That is then reinvested in support, economic support for that economic activity to enhance that economic activity.So we put it in, put that in perspective.That's, that's being, pragmatic and moving forward.And we've got to bridge this open.We've got opportunities open.

And in terms of where we are as a country, we still have the lowest tariff rate of any country on an average basis.We still have north of 80 percent of our trade, 85 as we speak today, but north of 80 percent of our trade is tariff -free with the United States.And we're engaged in discussions with them.Now, we're engaged with discussions, working to have a more permanent, or more stable is a better way to put it, nothing's permanent, but a more stable trading relationship with the U .S.that addresses issues in some of our largest industries.

It's really hard to believe this when he just said, I showed you the clip in a more dangerous and divided world, exactly what he wants.He doesn't want a stable relationship with the United States.He needs Donald Trump to be the big scary monster to keep his polling numbers high.

And that recognizes the new U .S.approach to trade.So we're starting from a strong position.I'm going to go back to one other thing and I'll head back, which I said at my prepared remarks.And we're stronger than we were when this started.

We are stronger than we were when this started.We're growing jobs twice the rate of the U .S.Our FDI is twice the rate of our nearest competitor.That's the United States.It's twice the rate of the U .

S.We're the best country in the world judged for infrastructure investment.We're focused on the right things, affordable housing, community, becoming an energy superpower, diversify.

With all these numbers, he skews them like largest in the world for infrastructure investment.American companies are buying Canadian companies and they use those numbers to fudge data and talking points like that.There's not money coming in and building new things.They're just buying up the stuff we have.

Everybody wants to do more with Canada.except the United States.Everyone wants to do more with Canada.So we're engaged in all these trade negotiations.

He doesn't buy his own lie.That's why he smiled there.He doesn't believe this himself.He moved his money out of Canada.He's 91 % invested in America.He voted to move Brookfield's headquarters out of Canada to the United States.

He doesn't believe the words coming out of his own mouth.

Everybody wants to do more with Canada.except the United States.Everyone wants to do more with Canada.So we're engaged in all these trade negotiations, and we're delivering them, and we're on track to have access, free trade access, to 3 billion consumers.

On the streaming decision, how should Canadians interpret that decision when ministersLeBlanc and Canadian officials are at an event yesterday?We made that decision two months ago.

We made that decision with a focus on affordability right out of the gate.It's not the time, you know, Canadians are under I'm sorry, I should let you finish your question.Canadians have been under great pressure since COVID from overall inflation.Price of groceries.

These guys get extra revenue from that oil and what do they do?They keep flushing it over to projects that don't help Canada.

and we'll give the direction accordingly.

If there's a better way of doing it, if they really believed in this, they would repeal the Online Streaming Act.

It's that focus on affordability.Sorry.Can you say what we're getting in return from the U .S.right now in terms of the trade negotiations?We have this list of things that are happening right now.

Hi, Jordan Kanigan with CTV News.Thank you for taking my questions.The first question is for both the Prime Minister and for the Premier.As we move towards the referendum in October, some of the separation angst, if you will, is...

Do you see Carney's body language there?He waves over Daniel Smith.Get over here.I don't want to answer another one of these questions.Get over here, minion.

In October, some of the separation angst, if you will, is driven by concerns over equalization payments and the feeling and the belief that Albertans are being taken advantage of.Certainly there's some disinformation when it comes toto equalization, but do you think that the program should be reviewed before its renewal in just a few years?

Well, thanks for giving me the opportunity to lobby the Prime Minister on this.I've lobbied my fellow premiers at the table, and you can imagine that those who are benefiting from equalization want to keep the program as it is.But it's not fair, because the growth in the program grows with the size of the economy, which is kind of counterintuitive, because if the economy is growing and everybody's doing better, they should be less reliant on the equalization program.In fact, we've calculated there's overcompensation to the Have Not provinces of seven billion dollars over the last five years so my pitch to my fellow premiers and now my pitch to the Prime Minister is let's just get rid of that escalator.Let's equalize to the point of need.And then let's take the excess that's in that fund and distribute it back to the provinces on an equal per capita basis.

That'll help us with our funding pressures.And I think it will be a demonstration that just because there's extra money, you don't just cut a check to Ontario, who clearly doesn't need it.They're a powerful economy.They shouldn't be getting equalization from smaller provinces.So that's been my consistent position.

We think ultimately, He's just smiling about it.He knows he's using that money to his benefit, just squeezing Alberta and Daniel Smith capitulating to him, kissing the ring to get this pipeline to go forward while having to saddle Canadians with this new carbon capture.She cannot go forward with this.She cannot agree to this.She should say, why do we have to build this $20 billion facility?How about this?

We'll take profits and we'll build water bombers.We'll build them right here in Alberta.If she said that to him, well, obviously he would rip up the deal because he's not going to make money off this, but it would make him look like a environmentalist.mental charlatan.She has an opportunity to expose him as the charlatan he is. I don't think she's going to do it, unfortunately.I'm not happy with what she's done here in the last week.

We should change the equalization program so that we look at per capita spending.as well.We shouldn't be over equalizing provinces so they can pay for more generous social programs than we're able to afford here ourselves.I haven't made much headway yet with my fellow premiers on who are the recipient provinces but I can tell you that the the ones who are kind of the net contributors, I feel as well that we've got to get a bit more fairness into the program.

So I don't know.You can see what she said.I haven't made headway.Carney smiled about that.He knows he's not going to give up the money.He's going to do what's best for him in his political career.

The prime minister wants to respond to that.But thanks for the opportunity to put our position on the table.

Thank you.There you go.Well, he did say it was it was for both of us.And he just, you know, sort of, you know, Nice little softball straight across the plate there, telegraphed.No.Look, these are hugely important issues, all seriousness, whether it's equalization, whether it's health funding, other federal programs.

And one of the things that... underpins the country is a sense of fairness.And then you move into the interpretation of that fairness and how it's applied.And at the heart of fairness, and this is true within a province, it's true across the country, is that Canadians have accessed reasonably comparable services, whether it's health, education, reasonably comparable.It doesn't mean it's exactly the same, but it's reasonably comparable.

It isn't reasonably comparable.These guys are giving out hundreds of billions of dollars to First Nation chiefs who then don't build out their nations as they're supposed to be.And interesting, you have nations that can't support themselves.Should we really be calling First Nations nations anymore?That's another question.When you have these Aboriginal chiefs who are not providing clean drinking water, even though taxpayers are already paying for it, clearly the system doesn't work.

And I know they're talking about equalization across provinces, but I mean, this is another form of this.It's not working.The system needs a clean water system.You also notice Daniel Smith's take on this to have people less reliant on the equalization program as the economy grows.I get she's got to kiss up to Carney to get some stuff, but bringing in a 30 billion dollar carbon capture facility when we need to buy water bombers is not operating in Canada's best interest.

I'm really disappointed with Daniel Smith.
