"Crisis" Talk TV ratings COLLAPSE by 20% over Mike Graham exit amid Reform UK propaganda accusations

So, some good news for you, which I hope that you would have spotted, but if you haven't, it is good news, is that Talk Radio's audience has collapsed by 21%.And the reason it's collapsed...Sorry, my condolences.Well, they finally admitted it.

There's only one reason why Talk's figures have fallen off a cliff, as they have, and that is because Mike Graham has gone off to set up his own independent news show.

Breaking today, Talk TV in crisis as its ratings collapse amid a surge for GB News.Indeed, new figures show listening hours at Talk down 21 % in just a quarter Many saying this is as a result of Mike Graham being axed from the station to set up independently.We will hear exclusively from Mike in just one moment, but first I want to bring you the cold hard figures.These are the radar figures and the report really focused on the surge of GB news up 30 % 4 % year -on -year, which is pretty extraordinary.But then if you look at the Breakfast program, this is where Mike Graham previously presented, and it's now Jeremy Kyle who has taken over, you will see those 289 ,000 listeners are well below both GB Newsradio, which is just a simulcast of what's on TV.and Times Radio too.

There's some more reporting on this.The news radio market saw significant movement.GB Newsradio was one of the fastest growing stations in the UK, increasing its audience by 34 % year -on -year to 731 ,000 listeners, overtaking both Talk and Times Radio.Talk reached 543 ,000 weekly listeners, down 3%.Its 4 .9 million listening hours represented annual growth of 15%, although, and this is the key point, hours were down 21 % quarter on quarter.Calvin McKenzie posting astonishing numbers from GB News Radio who have seen their audience jump by 34%.

The latest radios also showed that hours for the station, it's the important trading currency, leaped an amazing 78%.But he added, talk radio crashed 21%.Talk's shocker will be due to Mike Graham moving his breakfast show from them to UK Live at the turn of the year.And UK Live is, of course, the new station that Mike Graham and Kelvin McKenzie have set up.And so Kelvin actually decided to celebrate the slump from Talk live on the show today.Watch.

Well, they finally admitted it, right?

Because you know what they did?No, but hold on a second.The reason is, as I've pointed out in the tweet, is your move from talk radio to UK Live, right?Now, UK Live will one day be a behemoth.At the moment, it's just a bee.But the moth is on its way.

So congratulations for causing the problem.Of course, the bloke who took your place is a friend of yours, isn't it?Jeremy Carr.Right.Now, Jeremy Carr was good at insulting thick council house tenants.You don't have a good word to say about him, do you?

Well, I have a word for him, but it's not a good word.Look, I'm in favour of talent.

Jeremy Kyle is a very, very decent guy, right?He was very helpful to me during my time of trouble.

Between you two guys, one, you are a natural broadcaster in the sense of, you know, whether it's YouTube or radio or whatever.Whereas he, he made his money by abusing dim council house tenants.And when it was found out that this actually had led to a number of the audit, a number of people that he was cross questioning, killing himself, his job then disappeared.

But you know what's interesting about Jeremy?The reason he's good at what he does is because he actually started in radio.And proper radio people know this, right?

But it was music radio, it wasn't speech radio.

No, it was speech radio.I thought he was in Birmingham or something.Yeah, but he did an overnight show.Oh, did he?Yeah, he did the whole business of, you know, he had an agony aunt would come in, he had people ringing up about sex problems.Actually, we should do that.

So, you know, we should have.I know that is a good idea.

But there is another factor, and I've actually seen loads of you in the live chat mentioning this.It's another big problem.Of course, Mike's departure was a massive problem.He was a huge star, the biggest star on the station by far.But it isn't the only problem.The other big problem is that Reform UK and Talk TV have become increasingly aligned, and lots of people on the right who maybe feel like, oh, I want to support Restore Britain, or I support the Conservatives, or UKIP, or whatever it happens to be, feel feel like they've been forced out and that's because clips like this are going viral.

Do you remember Alex Phillips and Young Bob?

Listen, can you not see where I'm coming from, Bob?That we need to be very clear about this, because otherwise we're on a slippery...I don't see why a right -winger has a problem with this.We're on a slippery slope to something quite frightening, because...Witches?Witches, like I said, going door to door and saying to people...

But who suggested that?That's what I'm asking you, because I don't think anybody...Has Rupert suggested that?Well, no, but not Charlie Downs nor you are able to answer me how you execute...

No one has suggested this hypothesis that you've posited, so of course it's not the policy of reform.

prosecute a policy where people who don't integrate are being deported?It's a great sentence.

Very, very simple.I understand it.How?If you have ideas that geometrically oppose the ideas of the native British people, you then begin to ban those ideas, then you enact a British ICE to deport these people if they don't adhere to the laws of the land.

You're banning and deporting people based on ideas.Ideas exist inside someone's head.Do you not see why this is so dangerous?Practices.Practices.

And there have also been examples this week, like Kevin O'Sullivan, really not giving the brilliant Ola Minihane of Restore Britain much of a go at all.

Really, really, Orla?You really think Nigel Farage is going to say to Rupert, fair enough, I'll in effect sack Robert Jenrick, Suella Braverman and Danny Kruger?He's not going to do it, is he?

It's called negotiation.Any business person...Well, why did Rupert put that in?Why did he make it difficult?He was a starting point.Every businessman or woman goes into a negotiation with term.

Why not just say, let's work together?

Introducing you to the real world.Nigel Farage...Kevin, I don't need to introduce you to the real world.I'm in it every day.Nigel Farage...Well, I'm going to introduce you to the real world because Nigel Farage will not accept that order to get rid of...

Well, then there's no deal then.Well, OK, there won't be a deal then, so we've sorted it out then.That's good.OK, so we've sorted it out.So this is all a waste of time then.

You call Farage, I'll call Rupert and we'll say no deal because me and you decided.Look, at the end of the day, they need to have a conversation.That is what men do.

And then, of course, there was that clash between Julia Hartley Brewer and Charlie Downs of Restore Britain.

I noticed, by the way, that yourself and others in the mainstream media have actually routinely failed to mention all five of our politicians.

I must have mentioned about five times on air yesterday.

Well, many of your colleagues have routinely failed to mention one of the most important ones, I would say the most important one, which is demographic security for the white British people.

Why is there being fewer births to white British as opposed to, say, black British or brown British people?Why is that a threat to our country?

Well, I think you've just answered that yourself, Julia, and that is that this is a very recent change in our nation's demographic.

So what's it all about?What is the collapse of talk all about?Is it down to their coverage or is it down to the rise of the independent media?Mike Graham has been investigating today exclusively for Outspoken.

Good day.And this is a very good day.It's a very auspicious day.And it's a day that many people in the radio business dread, because it is, of course, Rajar Day.Now Rajar Day, when I used to work in the radio business, was one of those terrifying events that came around once every three months, where you get to find out how many people are listening to your show, how long they're listening to it for, how often they listen to it, and exactly how much it's going up, or whether it's going down, or whether it's going absolutely nowhere.For many people, Ray Charles Day is incredibly nerve -wracking for executives in broadcasting companies and for media executives and media bosses everywhere.

It is an absolute nightmare because obviously if you're in commercial radio in particular, the Ray Charles are so important because if they're going down, then advertisers are not going to be that keen to come and advertise.And if they're not going up, you're not making as much money as if they were.So it is absolutely do or die for an awful lot of radio executives today looking at their fingers to see how they're going.Now, there are plenty of winners and plenty of losers, and I'll talk you through what those are.Right now, for example, the BBC as a whole has lost something like 750 ,000 listeners over the course of a year.That will probably be down to the fact that Radio 4 is losing listeners hand over fist because it's become so woke and awful.

Five Live is going the same way.That's not exactly what you might call a festival of fun, is it?And of course, an awful lot of the local radio stations are going to be shut down or merged anyway.But of course, if you work for the BBC, you don't have to worry too much in terms of the actual survival of what it is that you do, because you're not really measured in the same way as you are in commercial radio.In commercial radio, if your figures go down and they continue to go down, then pretty soon you'll be out of a job.And if your show and the numbers on that show keep going down, you won't have a show anymore and they'll give the show to somebody else.

And that's kind of how it works.It's pretty cutthroat.

It is cutthroat.So will Talk be able to continue?Watch.

So here's what happened, right, today.I was informed this morning, actually, by Kelvin McKenzie, because I wasn't aware of Ray Jars, that they were coming out today, because I'm no longer in the radio business, I'm now in the YouTube business, the independent media space business.So I wasn't really particularly paying attention to what the Ray Jars were saying.But Kelvin McKenzie put out a tweet, because he found out that, first of all, a couple of headlines, right, GB News has gone up massively I think 34 % up to 730 odd thousand people listening to GB News radio that's every single week that's on top of of course the people they've got watching on television so big result for them very good result for them and they've now overtaken both talk and times radio times radio does about six hundred and sixty thousand a week and talk is now down to just over half a million five hundred thousand odd per week so But what Kelvin said was interesting, because what he said was that, in fact, there can only be one reason why talk's figures have dipped.And talk's figures have dipped in quite a significant way, because what's happened is they've lost 21 % of their hours.Now, the hours are the amount of time that people actually listen to the radio for.

And the longer and the bigger the period of hours is, the more people like the station, effectively, because it means they stay tuned for longer.Now, however,the hours have gone down by 21 percent that's a fifth have gone down by a fifth that means that fewer and fewer people are actually watching and when they are watching and listening they're doing it for less time okay now you can measure a tick in a box for a radar point by simply listening for five minutes so if that figure has gone down then people are not even listening for five minutes which is quite a serious problem.

It's interesting how it works, isn't it?Mike's been quite modest for him, though.

Now, obviously, Kelvin McKenzie has an answer, as he always does.He's a former editor of The Sun.He's worked in broadcasting.He's run Sky TV.He knows an awful lot about the business.He said there's only one reason why talks figures have fallen off a cliff, as they have, and that is because Mike Graham has gone off to set up his own independent news show, The Mike Graham Show, which goes out every single day at breakfast between 7 and 10.

I don't know if he's right.and listen I don't wish any harm on the talk tv audience or on the talk tv personnel you know because I worked there very happily for a very long time and there's some very good friends of mine who still do work there but you'd have to say It doesn't look great for the listeners if the listeners are dropping off.But it's great for me if the listeners are coming to me.And the reason they like coming to the independent space is because I'm free to say what I want.I'm unencumbered by any kind of senior management figures who might have different agendas about politics, about how they expect me to behave, and exactly what kind of opinions they don't want me to have.people are getting fed up with all of that sort of stuff so they much prefer to come to a place like this where you're watching Dan Wooten or on my show from 7 to 10 every single weekday morning because they know they're going to get the truth, they're going to get the whole truth and they're going to get nothing but the truth and they're not going to have to worry about whether I'm taking money from one particular advertiser or another particular advertiser, all our advertising is run through YouTube and

so we really have no control over who advertises with us and they never ask us to do anything for those adverts.

So let me bring in Ben Haviv.He is the chair of the Great British Pack.And Ben, I'm fascinated to know your view.this, because you've had quite an interesting little ride with these channels over the past few months.Over this period, actually, of course, because my summation would be that you were treated as the enemy on talk when Advance UK was a political party and you were the leader of that political party.Ben, you have now moved away, I guess, from sort of frontline politics in the sense that the great British past is a brilliant thing, but it's not necessarily trying to destroy reform.

You care in the same way.It's not party political.Yeah, and they seem more open to you, you know.When you go on now, they're not attacking you in the same way.So what do you think this slump for talk TV is down to?Is it Mike Graham?

Is it the fact that they've become like reform UK propaganda or maybe a combination of both things?

Yeah, so I mean, I think it's a shame.that any sort of so -called right -wing channel should dip because, you know, we need as many voices out there as possible making the case for the kinds of things we all believe in and want for this country.And so I take absolutely zero pleasure in talks, listeners going down.But if they have gone down and the number of hours for which they listen has also reduced, then I think that probably does have something to do with Mike Graham leaving.And, you know, you've got to be brave.when you're a radio station, when you're a platform for free speech, to allow people to say some things which may not, you might find repugnant, but need to be said in order for the reveal, for the revelation, so that we can have the debate.

And then people can listen and decide whether or not they agree.And I think Mike was sacked unnecessarily over something which seemed, which he denies, which they insisted on in the debate.to the nth degree and then filing against him.And he was very, very popular.And it was a great shame, I think, for talk that Mike was sacked.But I like Mike, I know many people at talk, and I like them a lot.

But the other channel, I think that's actually more at fault.I know you agree with me on this is GB News.GB News has, you know, GB News won't have Rupert Lowe on.It doesn't matter what you think of Rupert, no.His party's polling at 8%.He will deny Farage the general election unless something happens.

He will deny Farage the general election.Anyone who thinks otherwise isn't thinking straight.So he should be on GB News.And not because he needs to be promoted, but so that people can listen to what Rupert Lowe has to say, and so that people can make up their minds whether Alistair Heath is right, or whether young Bob is right.You know, they've got to have that debate.Anne Widdicombe used to be so brilliant on this.

She said the best way to debunk people you don't like whose opinions you wish to shut up, is actually to allow them to express their opinions liberally, because you can then make up your own mind about it.And if you find yourself being converted by them, convinced by them, well great, that's the rich benefit of debate, isn't it?And GB News has really fallen, I think.It's really fallen.It hasn't had me on since the day I launched Advance.It doesn't have Rupert Lowe on.

It's completely gone pro -Farage.And with all these scandals... multiple scandals about finances over in reform, which are fundamental.You know, you don't just have one institution investigating reform, you've got the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner, you've got the Electoral Commission, you've got the National Crime Agency, you've got the Metropolitan Police, you've got the Financial Conduct Authority, HMRC might also be looking at all of this.That is not the establishment versus reform, but GB News hasn't covered it yet.it doesn't cover this stuff.And understanding a party's finances is crucial to understanding what's driving that party to making the decisions that it makes.

And so GB News, I think, is at real fault here.It's a shame that Talk TV's numbers have dropped.And I wish you, and I wish Mike, and I wish all the independent broadcasters who are of our disposition, who want to make the case for a proud, sovereign, prosperous United Kingdom.I wish you all the very best of luck and the biggest numbers possible.

Thank you so much.I mean, it is sad for me to see five years on what GB News has become, if I'm honest.I mean, they did keep some of my brilliant guests, if they were Reform UK aligned.So like Anne Whittakam, the late, great Anne Whittakam.She was someone who I brought into the channel very, very early on, and they kept her because she was Reform UK aligned.But I think of other people like, you know, you know, Rod Liddle, like Rupert, like yourself, and all of those people one by one, if they sort of move away from Reform UK, that they end up being dropped.

But look, I'm just looking at the live chat on this.Nyla Rock says, just need to listen to most of the interviewers on talk, they're so full of themselves they do not let their guests speak without interrupting and shouting.GCP1248, and I share this worry, says, thank goodness for YouTube, I just worry Ofcom will try to control it.And Val Twinedina saying, my lefty woke brother told me I no longer exist when I told him I love Lawrence Fox.And I mean, this is what we're dealing with.And that's why we do need to really keep a strong community.

This guy, so this guy is phenomenal.In 2019, I think he did something that has never been done in the history of mankind.He climbed the 14 peaks in the world that are all over 8 ,000 meters.He's a British citizen born in Nepal, former Gurkha, went from the Gurkhas, I think the only member of the Gurkha regiment to go into the Special Boat Service, seriously hard, hard -nosed, capable, aspirational, driven, ambitious embodiment of that British go -getting spirit, even though he was Nepalese.But a Gurkha is one of us, in a sense.And as I say, he made it to the SBS.

But sadly, he died on the 1st of August, climbing a mountain in Pakistan.And his body was discovered shortly after that.But I think there's a Netflix series where you can watch his phenomenalin 2019, doing those 14 peaks and the way he did it.And he fills me with inspiration for that go -getting, daring do that used to be so fundamentally part of our DNA.And so I recommend him highly as your Britain for today, the Great Britain for today.
