Now he expects to have gushing media coverage for going on another trip signing fake MOUs and giving dazzling speeches.

Donald Trump is now declaring a new world order, and I'm curious, between his and Mark Carney's, which one do you want to be a part of?If mainstream outlets are now saying Polyev was right, That should probably tell you something.Even the architects of climate policy are now agreeing that this is really not worth it.What are we doing here? It's kind of funny how those tough questions start getting asked once it is politically safe to do so.And that's going to make a lot more sense to you as we get through this.

Lots to get through today including a new report from CSIS saying that kids are getting radicalized online and it's much younger than we previously thought.

1:04

Finally time that premiers like Doug Ford reconsider this policy if it means movement on tariffs.

1:09

I think it's time for Mark Carney to actually do something.Like let's be honest we have a 1 .2 trillion dollar trade relationship with the United States.Alcohol exports from the U .S.to Canada are less than a billion dollars. So let's focus on the big picture.

1:30

After a year of Mark Carney promising that he would negotiate a win by July the 21st of 2025, there's no win. There's no elbows. There's no deal. All we have is double the tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminum, and lumber, and a broadening of tariffs onto many more goods. It's time for Mark Carney to actually take action.Just the other day, he said they would only take about 10 days to negotiate a deal.

1:56

Those aren't my words. They're his words. So what is he waiting for?Why doesn't he get this behind us so that we can get back to focusing on making Canada affordable and safe here at home again?

2:07

What? But Mark Carney is doing something. He is officially in EuroVan attending the European Political Community Summit. This is actually the first time ever that a non -European country has participated.CTV News had political commentator and son who works for the Prime Minister's office, Scott Reid, on to discuss the notable absence of Donald Trump from being invited.Take a listen to what he had to say.

2:35

And of course, it almost goes without saying that Donald Trump isn't there. But I wonder, how do you imagine his presence is being felt by the leaders that are gathering there over the coming days?

2:46

It's definitional. It's definitional.Trump's absence is definitional in the sense that people are coming together in common cause countries across Europe.including Canada, saying, what do we do against this hostility?

3:00

Scott Reid's framing there, I would argue, is probably intentional because the way that he lays all of that out, it leaves you with the impression that the hostility he's referring to is America and not Russia, which is actually what most of this meeting is about. So, you know, he says that Trump's absence is definitional and these leaders are coming together in common cause against hostility. But at the same time, the reality is that the U .S.is not a part of this forum, never has been, neither is Canada. And officially, this meeting is about European security, energy infrastructure, Ukraine.

3:36

So to frame it as definitional that Trump was not invited to this thing that he's not a part of is not a fact, it's an interpretation and it matters because it, again, re -centers something that has nothing to do with the USA around the USA because that sells really good in Canada. And that's not to say that the U .S.doesn't have very goodinfluence with every single one of these nations and the things that they're going to be talking about, but he turns it into the central storyline and frames it as Trump versus the world. So again, this meeting isn't about Trump, but the fact that we keep making it about Trump might tell you everything that you need to know.

4:12

Just this week, as your report pointed out, out of the blue, Donald Trump says to Europe, well, I'm going to raise tariffs. And they say, well, hold the phone. We have a deal.We took on political criticism in our own countries for rushing into a deal with you to try to get certainty, to get clarity on what our trading relationships would be, what those tariff rates would be.And now just the stroke of a pen, you're going to turn all that upside down? The message, of course, is what is the virtue, what is the value of a deal with Donald Trump?

4:40

And the answer is zero. You can't count on him. When you don't have a deal with him, you can't count on him. When you do have a deal with him, you can't count on him. There are no rules when it comes to Donald Trump. And I'm not even touching on Ukraine and Russia.

4:52

So non -binding deals are a joke and something to be made fun of unless Mark Carney signs them.

4:58

Now he expects to have gushing media coverage for going on another trip signing fake MOUs and giving dazzling speeches, all while delivering no real results here at home.

5:13

Is that are we picking up on the same thing there?I don't know about you, but when I catch myself in a contradiction or hypocrisy, I recognize it and I sit with it for a second. And it's like, why are you holding these two conflicting ideas at the same time?Right. And that just doesn't really seem to be the case here in the slightest because Mark Carney signs deals and MOUs, agreements of intent with countries like India and China, and those deals are framed by people like Scott Reid as strategic wins, historic progress, global leadership. But then when Trump does it, it's you can't trust him.

It's non -binding.It's meaningless. It's political theater. So could we just please have a consistent standard?Because this is very hard to follow. If non -binding deals are meaningless, they are meaningless for everybody.

6:00

And you do not get to mock them when one leader uses it and celebrate it when another does.

6:06

Would it not be better, in your opinion, for us to focus more on a trade deal with the U .S.and focus more on Kuzma?for Canadian values instead of putting irritants like this EV trade deal in place?

6:21

My own view is that yes, it would be better to focus on KUSMA, particularly with this Section 301 investigation.See what we can do to improve KUSMA, to get as much as we can under some new version of KUSMA.and set this aside for a year, two years, and then see if we want to come back to it.That would be my preference.

6:50

And isn't it kind of odd that Scott Reid, who says himself that he cares a lot about people sticking to their word and being trustworthy when they're signing these non -binding MOUs, that he would be so hard on Donald Trump and be completely silent on China?Because in a bid to diversify away from the American market, which is weird because China is not.an import country, they're an export country. So I don't know how much that's going to work for us.The Carney government fundamentally traded automotive market access for agricultural relief. And there's some really important things that happened after that one that have been met with silence, I guess.

7:31

So Canada drops its surtax on Chinese EVs to 6 .1 % for the first 49 ,000 imports per year.China promised to cut tariffs on canola seed down to at 15 % by March 1st and they also.agreed to remove visa requirements for Canadians and suspend anti -discrimination duties on lobster, crab, and peas throughout 2026.And at the time of signing, It was stated that Beijing is a more predictable partner than the United States of America and that government officials were hailing this as some masterclass in pragmatic diplomacy. However, what actually happened is when the implementation started, China rolled out tariff relief for some products, but left canola seeds out entirely, which was the main export that that deal was supposed to protect. And they did end up readjusting it later, but there was certainly damage to confidence that was already done.

8:27

And then within weeks right after the deal, China imposed new anti -dumping tariffs, 13 .8 % on Canadian rubber exports for five years. So while one part of the trade was being eased, another was being restricted at the exact same time. And then came the conditions from China, which are very concerning, such as them saying that our relationship would be damaged if Canada sends warships through the Taiwan Strait or allows MPs to engage with Taiwan. And as Kate Harrison writes, that strategic partnership with China seems to have some pretty big strings attached, including dictating Canada's foreign policy.

9:11

about our foreign policy position on Taiwan.I do not think that it is just about mixed communications.I think that because of the demonstrated activity in the South China Sea by China in recent months, which Canada and other countries have condemned, the decision to pull back government members from an existing trip in Taiwan speaks volumes about where our foreign policy may go.

9:31

So what kind of a position does this put Canada in?What are the priorities?Truly, as Robert Fyfe reports, China and India among countriesactive in foreign interference and spying in Canada, according to CSIS.So what exactly is Mark Carney's New World Order?Because part of his plan to diversify trade included a collaborative RCMP security cooperation and media access agreements with China, which for the record, they still have not detailed or published publicly.

10:00

any more information about. When it comes to India, a collaborative agreement on national security and law enforcement slash defense dialogue was included in that.Oh, and by the way, much like Pierre Poliev said, but still gets vilified and smeared over, the Supreme Court just drew a line on what MPs can say. They have upheld a law that limits what certain MPs and senators are allowed to say publicly, even inside of Parliament. The ruling, eight to one, confirms that members of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of parliamentarians, known as ENCICOP, do not have full parliamentary privilege when it comes to classified information, which means that they cannot disclose what they learn, and if they do, they could face up to 14 years in prison, which is precisely why Pierre Palliev has not gotten this clearance, especially because it's not mandatory, so they could just make it mandatory any day that they want to if it wasn't anything more than a wedge issue, and it's also why he has had the ability to actually speak on these matters in a way that we have heard the Liberal government themselves say that they are not allowed to talk about.

11:06

The Liberals will tell you that high gas prices are just the result of global matters. That's interesting, isn't it?Oil is high. It's about $100 a barrel. You know when it was last $100 a barrel? In 2014.

11:21

And you know what the gas price was then?$1 .38.45 cents cheaper, even though the world oil price was exactly what it is today.Clearly, you cannot explain that gap

11:35

And what else does Mark Carney's New World Order consist of?A lot of ideological policies that nobody asked for, the world doesn't need or want, and we are falling behind as a result of pursuing them nonetheless. This should come as a major blow.because even climate insiders are now saying that it isn't working.Martha Hall Findley, who is a former Liberal MP and architect of Canada's carbon capture strategy, which is a mandate that the Liberal government has pushed in order for Alberta to simply exist, I guess, and the cost of this is billions of dollars in taxpayer support, and they do not generate revenue. They may work, But in terms of an economic situation that we face right now, that we are in after 11 years of ideology over practicality, this is not the right time to be forcing all of this stuff.

12:31

And it's funny, though, because at the same time, the narrative to us is that Canada must invest heavily in climate projects to do its part.McCarney's book Values is almost entirely written about that. But now advocates are questioning, does the cost actually match the impact?Because Canada's economy, after prioritizing doing things that sound good politically but practically don't actually make much sense or work, is hurting really bad.To the point where even the Toronto Star is publishing headlines like, Carney's Sovereign Wealth Fund Proves Polyev Was Right About One Thing All Along.Mark Carney Has Forgotten Who Helped Him Get Elected.

13:11

Mark Carney Fiddles While Canada Burns. So let's compare that New World Order to what the United States is trying to do here.Which one makes more sense to you?Let me know in the comments down below.Take a listen to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

13:45

They're not even in this continent. This is the Western Hemisphere. This is where we live. And we're not going to allow the Western Hemisphere to be a base of operation for adversaries, competitors and rivals of the United States. We also want to see that oil and the proceeds from it.Hold on.

13:58

We want to see the oil proceeds of that country benefit the people of Venezuela. Why have eight million people left Venezuela?Eight million, the single largest mass migration probably in modern history, left Venezuela since 2014 because all the wealth of that country was stolen to the benefit of Maduro and his cronies in the regime, but not to the benefit of people of Venezuela. You know how destabilizing eight million migrants is?The number one fear that Brazil has, that Colombia has, that all these countries in the region have about what's happening in Venezuela and our involvement is they're afraid of another mass migration event. That's what they feel.

14:28

This is deeply destabilizing stuff. It's not going to continue to happen. They are not going to come from outside of our hemisphere, destabilize our region in our own backyard and us have to pay the price for it.Not under President Trump.

And you don't have to like Trump. You can dislike MAGA.You can dislike Republicans all you want. That's fine. But their motivations and their goals have been very clear that they're trying to stabilize the Western Hemisphere, this continent that we share. They are our neighbor.

14:55

Whereas you have Mark Carney getting global fanfare.for attending summits and meetings in Europe over things that don't really actually concern him in the slightest. But he's such a great leader for being there. The first time in history, and gosh, Trump is just so awful.Well, here's what's happening on our continent. Here's what's happening in our country right now.

15:15

CSIS has now warned that youth radicalization is getting younger. They're actually raising concerns about a growing trend and pattern, where more minors, some as young as 13, are showing upin counter -terrorism investigations.Nearly 1 in 10 investigations now involve someone under the age of 18.

15:33

The realities of this trend are already becoming clear.Just weeks ago, in an Ottawa courtroom, a youth was found guilty of terrorism charges involving Islamic State -inspired plans to attack Jewish people.

com.Do you detect sort of this sense that Pierre Polyev is the enemy and the CBC is out to get him?

17:08

I think this is a problem for all of the media outlets right now.And I'm really thinking here in terms of how we've talked about the Canada -U .S.relationship.It seems to meand I actually think it was Althea Raj who pointed this out on CBC, a journalist with the Toronto Star on CBC, but who spoke about the media love -in that happens for the government and for the prime minister. It's

17:33

It's almost as though right now talking against Mark Carney is unpatriotic.Like you're actually, if you level the criticism of the current government, you're somehow anti -Canadian or not a patriot or you're Maple Maga.I mean, I've heard it all. That is a really dangerous place to be as a democratic society, to feel that you can't speak out if you have journalists that feel they can't ask questions, for they might get accused by their colleagues of being nefarious actors.I think that's a really dangerous place to be.And I would say that we see a lot of corralling around the current government and whatever they espouse.

18:16

As being a universal truth, not worthy of follow up questions. It's particularly bad right now.I remember it being bad in 2015 with with the election of Trudeau and everybody has their honeymoon, but given the seriousness of Canada's problems.and where we sit right now, especially in the relationship with the U .S., I think there needs to be a lot more spine from the media in terms of questioning the Prime Minister.

18:43

And it's hard to do that when you're also accepting taxpayers.

18:45

What do you think?Do you think that our media is prioritizing the right things, that Mark Carney is doing what's in the best interest for Canada, given everything that we face here on this continent? What do you think is going on?I'd love to know in the comments down below.I'm Jasmine Lane.Like, share, subscribe, and I will talk to you very soon.
