Did Mamdani just dox a bunch of famous wealthy New Yorkers and did middle -class New Yorkers get caught in the crossfire?That's what you have a bunch of right -wing media rolling with right now after Mamdani published a searchable database full of names and addresses of homes worth more than a million dollars.And this is connected to a tax, right?The key target of this tax actually isn't for primary residences.And you have this list meant to be a warning about a new tax on those types of homes, but also you have a lot of critics saying it this could expose a ton of high profile people to harassment and even security concerns.Where you've got everyone from Anna Wintour to Woody Allen on the list.

And you've got places like the New York Post saying, if you just go off this list, nearly a million houses are affected, including those in middle -class neighborhoods since property values are so high in New York.Though you have New York's Department of Finance, which published a list arguing that it's required by state law and it's standard for any new housing tax.And they also stress that just because an address appears on the list does not automatically mean that it is subject to the tax.

And yeah, right -wingers, they're gonna use any excuse they can to go after Mamdani.But also what you're seeing is that he has fully leaned in even taunting people that this tax is designed to target on Twitter saying, check your mailbox when you're back in the five boroughs because you got mail.With them arguing that this tax is gonna bring the city $500 million a year that it can then use on parks, libraries, and schools.
