🛒 Did SNAP Crash Walmart on November 1st?

I love that. Okay it's a little busy at the Walmart. I wouldn't say it looks abnormal though probably for a Saturday. Welcome to Appalachia's Homestead. We thought we would check a few things out here on November the 1st see how people

are behaving James is gonna get a good parking spot over here no you're not oh it's handicap Welcome to Walmart.

This person behind me is like, ooh I want that hand kiss.

So we just got done working out and we had to go to Home Depot because I need a new metal trash can for the barn. And there's one or two items I need. I could go to Publix or Ingles or something to get it, but I thought I would check out the status here at Walmart. I'm looking around out here in the parking lot. Like I said, it's busy.

People are going in and out, carrying bags. Two women over here putting their stuff up. I don't see any drama so far. I will say before we go in, so last night, yesterday, last night was obviously Halloween and we ran a few errands yesterday and James I don't know

if you paid much attention. We talked about it a little bit but we were in some places where people would trick-or-treat and did you did you really see any trick-or-treaters? No, and it was already dark. Yeah, it was getting dark I mean there were some few a few kids and stuff out and about we saw an adult dressed as uh, where's Waldo? Couldn't find him for a while. Yeah, we couldn't find him and And it was rather uneventful

I mean, I know people were probably having personal parties and I'm sure a bunch of folks down at UT were partying it up I don't know. We don't know. Okay, but I will tell you people just didn't decorate this year I don't think so. Tell me where I'm wrong We just really didn't see people had some pumpkins out and there's a few houses that would have you know This or that out, but if you were to compare how people decorated say 10-15 years ago. I mean there's all kinds of stuff hanging out at Home Depot the ugly

Stuff but as far as what people were putting their money towards here and putting out I Haven't been seeing it not like we used to which that's fine by me, because it grosses me out. So I love pumpkins and all the cute fall stuff, but Halloween grosses me out for many reasons now. But anyway, we thought it was rather uneventful, at least by what little bit that we saw, so, which were kind of boring.

So we're gonna head in here at the Walmart. There's one or two things if they have them I'm gonna pick up and We'll report back So, my family has asked me to make some traditional Thanksgiving desserts. We're not eating them, but they are, so I figure I might as well go ahead and get the stuff. Better just make it instead of fight about it. Am I doing... So I bet if I used my Monk sugar instead of the regular sugar, I don't think they're gonna

know the difference. What do you think? I'm gonna have to watch this video. Okay, so everything is calm at the Walmart except one thing. So I'm looking for some, my Nana loves to color and do art stuff. So right, this is supposed to be calm.

Calm and relaxing and it's really like psychedelic.

It's calming. Well, I found it rather uneventful. I don't know if people are still getting their benefits, partial benefits. It's like you can't really get an answer. Some of you all already know, but I didn't see... we've driven past Ingalls, parked next to the Dollar General, Aldi, across from Food Line. Now we've gone into the Walmart. We went into the Lion's Den and I didn't see anything. We talked

to two Walmart employees. I said, how's everything going at the Walmart today? And they knew what we were talking about. And they were like, fine, everything's good. I said, well, your parking lot is a lot busier than the inside. And they were like, yep. So James, what was the saddest thing

that you saw at the Walmart? I'm gonna say mine first, cause I'm still devastated. Not the fact that I'm gonna be buying them to eat but chocolate covered cherries you get ten didn't we used to get a dozen or something like that and Instead of them being 97 cents, they're $2 and 97 cents That's so wrong that's worse than somebody yanking my buggy and trying to take off with it. What about you?

We want to update our 9-volt battery So well, he's mad about the batteries for the fire alarms and I'm worried about chocolate covered cherries. So I don't know what's going on doesn't look like much of anything doesn't mean that anything won't happen in the future obviously you want to keep an eye on things and a pulse on things I can tell you that I got on Twitter today and yesterday and I

was telling him it's enough to just make your skin just crawl all the time and things are going on around us all the time but you just have to try to do your best and stay positive and help those that you can help and understand where we are as a people and where we are as a nation. We all should know by now, but at the same time, you can't lose your cool. So, clearly we're watching the situation.

I don't know. I saw this morning, you know, we heard it yesterday about the judges trying to force payment through and then now Trump said he was gonna ask permission and everybody's arguing about it so just keep an eye on everything obviously keep yourself protected if you go into places and We're not reporting any problems here in East Tennessee where we're at See, maybe we all got wrapped around the axle once again for nothing. It's a game of chicken most of the time, but at the end of the day, always be prepared.
