The Trump administration is taking back what they said about vandals who they accused of destroying the reflecting pool on the National Mall this summer.Remember, Donald Trump had had that pool drained and then had a liner put on it by contractors very hastily in May and June because he wanted the pool to look nice for the July 4th celebration. That was drawing people to the National Mall. They were looking at the pool.It was filling with algae and the liner was peeling up throughout. One of those people was an ex -Olympian named David Hearn.

He was arrested on the spot and accused by the park police of peeling up some of that liner. And then later, just before the 4th of July, Jeanine Pirro, the U .S.attorney in Washington, she indicted David Hearn.Oh, he damaged it.He damaged the pool.

Now, Just this Friday, Pirro and her office say they didn't have all the facts about how badly the construction work was on the Reflecting Pool liner, that it had been peeling up before Davey Hearn was ever arrested on the National Mall, and that they needed to drop the criminal case against him.He had been indicted for a felony in Washington, D .C., and had had a number of supporters saying he was just being singled out by the Justice Department and called a vandal unfairly and not consistent with the facts.
