✨DOUBLE WIDE LIVING ROOM DECORATE WITH ME✨mobile home decorating + Q&A
Fearfully CREATED
Hey my name is Marina. Welcome back to my trailer. If you're new here, my name is Marina. My husband and I and our four kids live in the hills of East Tennessee in a double wide that is as old as me. I'm 33 by the way. But it is my absolute dream home and we're completely renovating it and it is insane at the change that this house has seen in the last two years. Today we're going to work on this living room that we've redone. We're smack dab in the middle of a living room remodel slash makeover slash refresh slash etc. There's different parts to the living room that I have to focus on because we do all of our DIYs, all of our projects, our makeovers on a
budget and I save specifically for the thing we're going to do just to try to help manage money because my husband and I aren't the best at managing money. We were better now than we were then, but we're still not the best at managing money. So we're trying to teach ourselves. And a lot of people on YouTube are teaching us too. Because I look on YouTube on like tips and tricks to save money or things that every
child should know when it comes to saving money. I'm not a child, but my knowledge level on money is that of a child. So we're teaching ourselves and learning as we go. And I've always done our makeovers on a budget and with the money I've saved to do those with. If I don't have enough money, the project does not get done, period. So we started on this side of the living room.
We're gonna continue to work on this side of the living room but we have all of this behind me that we still gotta tackle to. This wall right here and that wall right there. I'm not gonna drive y'all crazy with yapping though. I'm known to talk a lot. I'm known either to hit y'all like a freight train with my intros or talk for 30 minutes and I ain't doing that today. Let's do the daggone thing. A lot of people ask me why I don't
use plastic on the floors and it's because it ends up looking just like when I got dressed today. I don't know what we're doing here. But right now I've got to get this mess. Shane told me he was gonna get up. Really? He should be the one cleaning this up, but I'm not pointing fingers. And when y'all sent me this forever ago and I absolutely love it. It's a little nifty silicone razor thing and we're gonna use it. It won't mess up the floors. Because it's silicone. We're going to get these floors tackled and get them shining.
And we're also going to do a lot of decorating in here. I've got to bring the rug in here. I've got to bring the rug in here. I've got to add stuff to the walls. We gotta do quite a few things. Get the curtains back up. I took them down because it was super dusty
where we were playing with joint compound and sanding. We gotta do all that, but I'm also gonna do a Q&A while cleaning these floors up because I have a backlog of questions from you guys that goes on for days and I'm slowly trying to tackle them without repeating them so I'm doing the best I can but I just usually pick at least five or six or seven and then just run with it. This is for the birds and I'm mad at Shane y'all can tell him that. I feel at this point in my YouTube journey
you guys pretty much know exactly who I am. I try to be as authentic and as open as I possibly can but today I chose questions that will kind of give you a look into my brain and my heart in a different way. I don't really talk about stuff like this. I mean sometimes I do, but like some of the stuff I don't talk about. So I thought it would be a good opportunity to go that route. The way that I'm doing this is I'm getting it sprayed down and then waiting a second
and then going in with this trusty silicone scraper thing and it's taking it right off without hurting my floors. Everybody and their mama ask me how much I love these floors, like if I like them, do I regret getting them? How's the quality? And I'll just tell you this much I have put these floors through the wringer the last year and a half they have been here. I put them through the
wringer. They're the best floors I would say that I've ever had but I've always ever had just carpet or like this peel and stick vinyl flooring like in the old trailer I put the peel and stick down and I loved it, but it wasn't to the quality of this stuff. This stuff, I have two areas where it's separated and that's because we built on top of it.
So we put a two by four on it and we built the pantry thing and that caused pressure on it. So it kind of separated the pieces of wood. So if you're gonna put down the floor, make sure you know the layout you're going to go with if you're going to like build different areas and stuff. That way you're not building on top of the floor and making it separate.
Because before we started doing that, it didn't separate at all. We had no problem with it. And then there's one area, if I can remember where it is, I'll show you guys. I can't remember where it's at, but I saw it the other day. There's one area where I messed it up by scraping a big giant bookcase. I think I was doing a video that day. I probably was. I do a video pretty much daily, every day of my life. If I'm not filming a video, I'm editing a video. So I was either filming or editing it. But both. If I was editing it, I was filming it. But that was my bad. That was my B. And yeah. That being said, I scraped so much paint off of these
floors. I scraped so much joint compound off of these floors. I've had epoxy on these floors accidentally. Like little epoxy drops, tear drops everywhere. I've had all on these floors accidentally, like little epoxy drops, tear drops everywhere. I've had all sorts of stuff, like all sorts of stuff. And the only problem I have is it separating in two areas and then I scratched the eye and flicked it on it. So I absolutely would recommend the brand.
And the color, I mean, I used to have a big problem with the color because I didn't know what color scheme I was gonna go with. Did I just put the wrong compound on my head? I didn't know what color I was going to go with in this trailer. When I first moved here the first year was wild. I was floating around everywhere. I didn't know what to do. I was so overwhelmed in the best way. No, I'm not complaining
at all. I was so overwhelmed in the best way and so I just started doing things and I had to learn and get a new groove of what I wanted my style in this double wide to be or it was gonna look exactly like the old single wide and I kind of wanted like a new start. This was one of the biggest thing that's ever happened in my life. So I kind of wanted to make a new start and not go back to the old single wide like wall for wall design, you know. A lot of the themes that are in this trailer
come from the first single wide, but they're not identical. I've omitted the Stone Harbor greige. I've omitted the Jacobian stain, and we go pure white by Sherwin Williams and hickory now. But a lot of the themes like the brick and stuff, they stayed around. They just went different places and they look a little bit different because it's a different vibe. So I used to have a problem with the floor color. It looked warmer on camera than it was in person and it looked a little bit warm in person and I didn't like that. It's grown on me and it feels super homey now. I literally
thought I was going to regret it forever because I was like there's no way I can afford to refloor this entire double wide build main living area, it costed thousands of dollars. I ain't got another envelope saved for that one. I was saving for that back in the trailer because I was gonna switch out the peel and stick vinyl. I was gonna switch it out with this kind eventually,
the luxury vinyl planks. I was going to switch it out, but I literally, that envelope kind of bled over into the double wide. But I hadn't started an envelope for new flooring and I had no intention on it so I knew I was gonna
have to live with it. Thankfully it grew on me and I like the warmness it brings because a lot of the other colors and a lot of the other vibes in here is cooler, is colder, not really like cool colors but it's just very modern. It's turning very modern and the floor kind of brings it back to where it's just very modern. It's turning very modern and the floor kind of brings it back to it where it's not too modern. It's still that modern farmhouse, but it has some warmth to it and I like that. I'm gonna finish getting
all this stuff off and I'll show you guys what it looks like when I get done. While we're doing this, let's do a Q&A because we got a lot of floor to cover. Hit me with it Marina. Okay girl, they want to know if you wish that you could speed up the remodeling process on your double wide. No, I'm okay with the the speed it's going. I know a lot of other people would like for me to do things faster but I'm a home channel. So like you see my home and a little bit of my family and stuff but I don't do like the DIYs like on a career level like a lot of the DIY channels on here they do the remodel videos and they get
them done really quickly they do a lot they do ten times the amount that I do but that's what their channel is like that's what they do for a living so like me I'm a mom first and foremost and a wife first and foremost. Y'all come right below that. And when I say y'all come right below that, I don't mean the content on the channel. My people come right below my family.
You guys. So I make you guys a priority, but sometimes that doesn't always look like I'm making the content a priority because my priority isn't Remodeling my home as fast as I can in order to make a lot of money. My priority is sharing Jesus with you in a different way. I want you to go to church without going to church. I
Want you to see that God can change people. I want you to go to church without going to church. I want you to see that God can change people. I want you to know that God changed me. I want you to see that faith goes beyond the church doors and it starts at home. And I want you to see that loving Jesus can be so fun. It's not stiff necks and and collars and hymnal books all the time. It can be a lot of fun. And we're all on a journey and we're all messed up in a little bit of a way and none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes and that's
okay as long as you're trying to be better than you were. That's what matters. And that's the main priority. My main priority, the whole reason I'm on the internet is because God told me to get on here and tell y'all that he loves you. If you ain't been around that long my people in the comments can tell you some woozy stories that I've told when I first started. Some things that happened to me, supernatural things that happened to me and that supernatural thing people would question all the time if it's real or not and I can tell you if it was not
real I would not be here because I would not do what I do. I would not come on here in front of all these people without it being real. If I even thought for a millisecond that I had not had an encounter with God and he had not told me to tell y'all that he loves you, I would not be here. I love everything about YouTube. I like filming. I like the editing. I like, you know know making over my home, and it's it's turned into
My dream job, it's turned into my dream job like I love it so much
But I didn't know that I would love it that much so when I first started I definitely didn't start it because I wanted to be a cool fancy youtuber I started because God told me to one thing about me is I'm always gonna do what God says. Next. The next one wants to know if there's a kind of comment that just annoys you. It gets under your skin and you just don't like it. None of them really annoy me. I mean, to each their own. Everybody has a right to voice their opinion.
Even though this is kind of like my corner of the internet. Like here lately I've heard a lot of youtubers say um well I'm blocking those people because this is my space and this is my house per se and I agree with them. I think they should be allowed to to block people if they feel like it um because it is something they built. It's a corner that they have. It's a it's their home per se and you wouldn't walk into somebody's home and start disrespecting them. They'd kick you out and that's exactly what they're doing. So I don't disagree with those people,
those YouTubers. I think that they have every right to do what they need to do in order to keep their their peace because being a YouTuber has a lot of perks but if you let it, it can sometimes steal
your peace. So I think it's important that if you need let it, it can sometimes steal your peace.
So I think it's important that if you need to block people in order to keep your peace, block them. I don't block people. Shane's blocked a few. Shane's, share Shane in the comments. Shane's my moderator, and boy, he'll get on.
But I've told him to be there, ease up on him, because I was like, I told them, I said, Shane, you ain't just blocking everybody, are you? Because I have a mission on here. And what's the point in getting on here and telling you if Jesus loves you, if somebody's blocked and they can't hear that.
Because they can come back as many times as they want to. And they can be rude as many times as they want to but one thing's for sure, two things for certain, they're gonna leave here knowing Jesus loves them regardless. I can't do that it's their book so I told them that the other day. So as far as like annoying comments, I don't really find any annoying. I try to listen and have an open ear for everybody whatever anybody is saying. I try to have an open ear and listen and try to understand where they're coming from. Some people, it's really hard to understand where they're
coming from. Some people, my mind can't wrap around why they're so mean. I don't know, but I still try to understand it because I've been the mean person that's been mean to people before. I've been the hurt person that's hurt people before. And boy I'm glad Shane and Jesus didn't give up on me. So I'm not giving up on them. I always tell y'all you can slap me in the face, you can call me any name in the book,
but if you come here and want to be my friend, water under the bridge. We're friends.
Consider it done.
Not thinking twice about it neither. I've had people on here that have literally been so mean to me. And this is God's honest truth. I've had people who have made fun of me and been so mean to me. And years of me dealing with that. Okay, years of me listening to them being rude and hateful and just, just mean. They'll come
on one day and either they'll apologize or they'll begin to be kind without apologizing and I accept both nonetheless and and that's happened at least six times in my five years here on YouTube. At least six times. Where a hater turned into a friend. So I don't count anybody out because I've seen it happen before and I know it can. I know people can change. I changed. So, so nothing really annoys me. It's really
hard to get on my nerves unless you are Marina. Marina gets on Marina's nerves more than Marina gets on anybody's nerves. I can promise you that. I don't want to glaze over that question. So like, let me think of a comment. Okay, okay, okay. So, I have the blog post right?
And I haven't done the blog post in a while. And if you've missed me talking about it, it's just where the last blog post I did put me in a really bad head space for a few weeks. And I talked to Shane about it and I prayed about it. And I asked God for grace about me stepping away from it for a minute. Because that's... that blog post is for other people, but it's for me too.
I'm letting out a lot of stuff and it's feeling very therapeutic. It felt very therapeutic until that last blog post. But that's just what it is. It's therapeutic. So when people get on here, I've got emails, I've got messages, I've got DMs and they're like you need to finish what you started. You need to you need to obey God. Like I haven't already had a conversation with God. I've already had that conversation with God. God is graceful and merciful and He has shown me so much grace in that
area. But they'll be like you were you were laying out all your sins and you need to get back to doing that. And that is what bothers me because I don't have to lay out my sins in front of anybody. That's not a requirement. I'm doing that. I'm doing that to help others, not to air out my stuff. I've said my apologies.
I've said my apologies to Shane. I've said my apologies to Shane. I've said my apologies to God. I've said my apologies to the people affected, the women, the wives that were affected by the crap I did. I've done that. I've paid that price and I've humbled myself and made sure that I didn't miss anybody. So the blog post isn't about me airing out stuff. I would not air out my stuff for fun. It's about helping people. And while yes, God called me to do it, God has also shown me a lot of grace and has okayed my paws on it. And I'm thankful for that. So that's kind of comment slash message slash email.
I've got a few times, probably about four or five times, and that kind of just like makes me scratch my head. It doesn't really annoy me. Don't get me wrong. If you're one of those people who have sent that comment or message or something, don't get me wrong, I'm not mad at you. I just scratch my head because you don't know the story. You know, you don't know, you don't know the price. You don't know, it's like those people say, you don't know the price of it. You don't know the story. You ain't heard the prayers. You haven't been present during the conversations I've had with God. There's been many a conversation I've had with God over that blog post.
Many of them.
Next.
How does it feel to get to witness Shane get progressively better with all of the DIYs you do? I feel proud. Mostly of Shane. Because when we first started doing DIYs, I always laughed and said Shane couldn't. And him running down to the wall, he could. But he struggled. started doing DIYs, I always laugh and say Shane couldn't hammer a nail into a wall. He could, but he struggled.
He had a mini hole in the wall.
He had a mini hole in the wall. He struggled and to see his growth over four, almost five years is insane. I think my favorite part about doing the DIYs is seeing him Continually getting better and better and better at the stuff that he used to struggle with or the stuff he used to swear He could never do he's doing it and he's getting better and better with it And I love I love the making home over the home process. I love like making it pretty and letting my my ideas come to life and the creativity of it all but that would be my favorite thing about it. It would be
Watching him grow in that area
She also likes just watching me work.
Next. What's the kind of content that you don't do but you've always thought about doing? What is something that I haven't done? I think I've done everything on the channel. I've literally like reported from the toilet before on the channel. Y'all remember that? I've literally done everything. Um, hobby videos. Hobby videos. I've always wanted to do hobby videos. Um, like cross stitching because I love cross stitching and reading books and things. Have you ever watched those creators? Most of it's on other platforms, like short content, short form content, not long form content like YouTube.
But they do these cozy vlogs where there's not really a whole lot talking, they just walk around with a snuggle blanket and the lights are dim and it's just really, really chill.
And the music is going, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Yeah, the music's like ambience music. I've always wanted to do videos like that. Possibly. Always. They literally will go like, cozy vlog weekend or something like that, and they'll take a whole weekend off,
and just like, keep you updated on what they're playing. Some people play the Switch, and you watch them play the switch. It's just very like an aesthetic like I don't know it's relaxing. It really calms my brain. That's really like the only thing I watch on YouTube anymore. I don't watch my kind of content anymore because whenever you become the creator that makes that content it kind of takes the fun out of watching that content because all you do is focus on like their edits. All you see is like when
they splice a video or like or is that times 2 speed times 3 speed. I mean it so that's all I focus on. That's all I can focus on. So I don't watch those videos anymore. But I do like hobby videos. I like hobby videos and I like book videos. I wouldn't trade what I do for those things but if I could do something like that on top of what I already do I would love that so much because I always want to make content like that. Especially now that I have hobbies because for a long time I went without
hobbies but last year whenever I started doing a lot of things that Shane was doing to you know just hang out with him and kind of meet him where he's at He's always kind of met me where I'm at and I wanted to make an effort to meet him where he was at So I started playing fortnight with him and I started reading manga with them and I started watching nerdy Shows with them and all that stuff
Calling what it is
Uh oh, I ain't there yet started doing all that that's when I really was like wow I love that and I started watching that content then and I was like wow I love this content. Before that it was mainly just like books. I would get book recommendations off of YouTube and book reviews.
Why is my foot black?
Daddy?
Chewing gum.
I had chewing gum stuck on my foot. Next! This person says that they've been around a while but they still don't understand exactly why I don't do sponsorships. No matter whether I'm live or over on Instagram or in the comments of the video, something about that always gets brought up. Like somebody always mentions it.
I was actually in a group call with one of my bigger YouTuber friends. She wanted me to come help her on her paid platform. And so I was over there hanging out with her and her people, her members over there. And that got brought up.
Somebody said, let me hear more about why you don't do sponsors. They said, because we don't see that very often. And if you want me to be honest with you, the reason I don't do sponsors, the only reason I don't do sponsors right now
is because I said I wouldn't when I first started. That's the only thing keeping me from doing sponsors is I told you guys I wouldn't do it and so I haven't. I know a lot of you have said it would be okay if I did but I told you guys I wouldn't do it. I told you guys I wouldn't do it and I've stuck to that for five years. And unless you guys and me have a conversation one day about it,
then I'll continue to stick to it. That's the only thing that keeps me from doing it because I could do triple, quadruple what I do in my home. I could have a video of every single day of me doing a makeover if I did sponsors. Like, I could do that. I could literally have a video.
You guys would have so many videos. You'd get sick of me. But that's money that I'm missing out on right now. And when I say I'm missing out on that money by not taking sponsors, I'm talking I'm missing out of $10,000 a month by not taking sponsors. I'm talking, I'm missing out of $10,000 a month by not doing sponsors.
So while it would give me more money to do home makeovers and to get more of that kind of content out to you guys, that's not what my channel's all about, so I don't really worry about that. Like, cause I do a lot of home making content and I do a lot of,making content and I do a lot of you know
Mobile home living content and all that stuff and so I don't always So I'm not always Spending money to make money because that's kind of what it is You spend money to make money on on in my niche on YouTube if I did just do that kind of content then I would probably really regret saying I wouldn't do sponsors. I was just at the reason I said that at the
beginning is I talked a lot about Jesus and I didn't want to get Jesus and money mixed together. That doesn't make sense now that I look back on it, but that was my mindset at the time. And a big part, I realized especially whenever I started the FairfaxCredit website, I realized in order to get the message out on like shirts and stuff, money has to pass through hands. You have to. If you want a message out like that, then you've got to turn over that money, right?
So it costs to sell stuff. That's what it comes down to. It costs to sell stuff. And while I don't make a huge profit on what I do sell, my percentage of profit is very low, I still make a profit off that and I put it back into the business. Doing that taught me a lot of things about Jesus and business. And a lot of people would say, I've had the comment like, the word is free, freely, you've
received freely given. And that's, I won't argue a Bible, I never argue a Bible. But I will say, if you have a problem with people making money off of shirts with scripture on them or off of Christian content or things like that, then I really hope you haven't bought a Bible because that Bible costs money to produce. I hope you haven't bought any shirts with Christian scriptures
on it. You know what I'm saying? Like everything, everything media wise that is Christian, money's had to pass through hands. And that's just how the world works. So while the Word is free, and you should freely give it, the shirts ain't. It ain't free to make. Did I say that right? But when I first started that was my thought process and the other reason is I started out and when I started out it was an era where a lot of youtubers were changing when they got bigger. Like they would start out small and then as they
got bigger their their whole like personality would change and they would buy really big houses and have really nice cars and a lot of people viewed that negatively. And I didn't view that negatively. I'm all for people getting nicer homes and nicer cars if they want it. Not changing their personality per se, but it depends on how long they've been on YouTube. Because I've been on YouTube for 5 years and change is inevitable. I'm 33 years old now. I was 28 when I first started. Change is inevitable. But like that was a
big thing when I first started. That was an era where everybody was talking about YouTubers getting big. YouTubers changing. And I was afraid I would fall into that category. And so I purposely limited my income because I didn't trust myself to not be that way. I should have trusted myself to not be that way. I just didn't want to change for the worse. Every part of me being on here is to change for the better. And I didn't want to change for the worst.
And so I tried any way I could to remain authentic to who I am, not who I was, who I am. Because who I am is who I was. She's just grown in some areas. And back then, the decision I made to not do sponsors was the result of that. That's where you had your dookie stains on the wall. Next, if you could sit down
face-to-face and have a conversation with your followers, what would you talk about? What would be the topic of conversation? Playing off of the last question, I wish I could sit down and talk to some of you guys about how change is a good thing sometimes. It can be a bad thing, but change is a good thing. I think a lot of people liked watching Circa 2020 Fearfully Created because I made them feel better about themselves because I was so awful.
Does that make sense? I think that it was they were entertained and that's what I mean that's what the videos are for. To entertain you. But I think that same mindset played a lot into the hatred of when I started to get better about things.
I didn't do the best at what I was doing and I was a hot mess and I made some people feel better about themselves in the same regard when I started doing better I made people feel bad about themselves. I've got the comment before of like your house isn't messy anymore, I'm subscribing. And I always like sadly giggle at that because I'm always sad to see somebody go.
But I did find it humorous because that was the whole point. Like I've used YouTube as a diary, a video diary of me becoming a better homemaker and the whole point of the cleaning content was to show my progress to myself.
There has to be an end game.
There has to be an end game. There has to be an end game. But in the same regard, if I was still a hot mess, then they would say she's still a hot mess after five years. Sometimes change is a good thing. It depends on how you view change. If you see somebody becoming successful
and providing for their family and making a ton of money, like not me, I'm talking about like a third person. Like if I see somebody being successful, if I see somebody making a lot of money and providing for their family, and they used to not be able to do that,
and it's a huge change, am I gonna view that as a negative change? And if I am, then I need to change my heart.
That was really deep.
I mean. That sounded like that kid.
Can't teach you from a packet, y'all. No, no, like, and that's hard for somebody who doesn't like change. But if I'm looking at somebody doing better for their family I'm not gonna be upset about that. I'm gonna be happy for them. Now, I'm not talking about flaunting money and stuff.
I don't think people should flaunt money. I don't like watching content like that myself. But change is gonna come. In five years, I'm in the most important part. One of the most important part of the whole motherhood is important, but with my kids like I'm in a transitional period. These kids are growing and they're growing fast and I've got preteens and I've got teenagers and it's new territory for me.
And if I had the same mindset I had five years ago, I'd be in trouble. And if I didn't have y'all, I'd be in trouble cause y'all, I use y'all as therapy cause sometimes I'm like, y'all, I don't know what to do. Help me. I'm still hot mess just in different ways. But that's what I'd like to have a conversation about. Like not all change is bad change. Now if somebody changes their character
and it's a negative change, then that's different. But if I have done that, I haven't meant to. Like that I haven't meant to change that way. I know I have changed for the better. I hope you guys see that I've changed for the better and not just that I've changed. Who knows five years from now I Could have an immaculate home. I don't believe it It could happen. I could I could you know be like the Martha Stewart like
Mom, I always wanted to be and it would be late, but it be it happened or I Who knows what's gonna happen in the next five years? I can only pray that I get better in the skills that I've got right now I can only pray that what if I can sew by then if I can sew by then
You better sew me up a pair of socks I don't know if you're gonna sew
I'd have to knit knit you a pair of socks
No, you need to sew my socks cause they got holes in them
I'll just buying you new socks. But I can only hope to change in those kind of ways. In the ways that I've changed in the last five years. I can only hope to change that way. Don't let the makeup and stuff fool you. I'm still very much a hot mess in here. Not in here.
It just looks a little bit different. You can paint a turd.
You're not a turd
I mean you can't paint a turd though
You can paint it and put it in a garden and it'll look like a decorative rock
While I'm down here, I'm gonna wash these baseboards
And get these cobwebs. What even is that? that. I'm getting the floors swept up and then I'm going to do a quick mop even though I've hand washed the floors there's still some areas that just need a mop you know so I'm gonna do a quick mop and bring the old rug from the second living room that we were living in I mean living in the one that we had the TV in that we call the living room I'm bringing the rug from in there until I can find a rug that I really like for this space. I've not sat on one. I've seen several online that I absolutely love. Most of them are out of
my price range right now and I just don't want to make that big of a purchase for a rug unless I'm absolutely sold and it's really hard to buy rugs online because you can't feel them. You can't really see them. They can tell you what color it is, but you can't really see the color until it arrives And then if you don't like it, it's a whole process sitting it back So a lot of times I try to go to Ross to find discount rugs and I can feel it there, see it there, Get the real feel of the color and everything there and that's that works out for me
I haven't been to Ross in a while I try to give it a little bit of time in between my trips that way they get new stock in. So I'm doing another trip to Ross and I'm gonna check their rugs out and see if there's anything I like. I know I want something light but not too light. I do have a lot of dogs. My dogs are really good though about not running through the house like muddy. Like when they come in they let me wipe their paws off if it's raining. I've had this whitish beige couch here to the left of me for what a month over a month now And it's I'm not even gonna say anything just I'm a 1g. I'm not gonna say anything, but it hasn't been a problem
So I want something light, but just not too light preferably something with a pattern in it So it could hide stains if stains happen the good thing is I don't have any puppies So all of my dogs are are completely potty. My dogs will literally bust before they use the bathroom in the house. I have been so adamant on making sure my youngest, the two Dotsons, Shiloh and Duncan, I did two-hour schedules, three-hour schedules, four-hour schedules, in the middle of the night, bathroom trips. I did everything I
could in order to get them completely potty trained by their first year of life. And that's huge because it's Dotsons. Dotsons are known to be really hard at housebreaking. So, they're good. I mean 12 hours, they're good. I used Scotchgard on the couch when I had a lift. I need to get another can and I'm gonna wipe down these windows and the window frame because it's super dusty from sanding the joint compound. I'm gonna do all that and then get these curtains back up. Y'all hold me accountable. I need to, within the next few videos, get the other two windows in this living space spray-painted. I'm dreading it because it's such a big project. It's huge and so
time-consuming and the weather has to be permittable and it's a whole thing but I have to because I want at least the the windows in the main living area I want those done before I decorate for fall And I definitely don't want to decorate for fall have to take my photo core down and do all that and then put it back Up and I definitely don't want to have to spray paint the windows in between the fall and Christmas decor So I need to get it done ASAP
Within the next few days because we're gonna be decorating for fall a little bit earlier than normal because we're going on a trip. Usually, I usually decorate on my birthday, September 1st. Every single year I will decorate for fall. It's like my fun thing I do on here, and I love it. But it is gonna have to be a little bit earlier this year, and I'm okay with that because we're going on a trip for the girls birthday, if you guys saw that video, and I want to have it done so I can come back home to a decorated house. I went ahead and put the curtains back up. Now eventually I have to... you can see it there at the top... we've got to put some
crown molding on the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling. I have an idea for that though and it's super budget-friendly and I'm excited to show you guys. I'm really excited to see how it comes out. A trick I learned from you guys a long long time ago is to get the curtains at the very top of the wall where it meets the ceiling because it makes your room look bigger. Go further out than your windows and way higher than your windows. It'll make your
windows look so much bigger and it just like fills up the wall so much prettier. I'm telling you y'all teach me everything man. I never knew that before y'all.
Not Reina over here acting like she's building the pyramids or something.
I actually felt like a Snow White instead of a dwarf.
Am I Snow White and you're the dwarf?
No.
Silly little dwarf! Help me find my man's. Her man didn't have a name, did he? He was just Prince. Prince Charming. I don't know,
I hate him. Even when I do get a new rug, I'm not getting rid of this one because this is the first rug I have been able to keep clean. And I think it's because it's a short rug. It doesn't have like a really shag sort of feel to it. It's on the shorter side, so it was easier for me to spot clean and easier for me to keep vacuumed. And I just did a really good job at maintaining this rug. So we're not getting rid of this rug,
even if I get a new one. I'm thinking about actually using this rug throughout fall because it has that plaid look to it and it has that brown dimension in there. And it just feels really cozy and that's what I'm focusing on this year for fall decor is we're going cozy. We're going low lights We're going I mean oranges browns. We're going traditional fall and a cozy feel at that
I want pretty blankets warm lighting Cozy fireplace all the feels that's what I'm going for So I really feel like this rug plays into that because of the dimension and because the plaid. Plaid screams fall for me. I love plaid during the fall. I like all kinds of different plaids. I like mixed plaids together.
I did a lot of mixed plaids last year. I like it all. So, it goes perfectly with the thing I want to do for fall. With this rug being on the shorter side, it really gives me a look into how hard it is get Moonpie's hair off of a rug. So I can imagine how much hair gets missed out on whenever it's a shag carpet because her hair sticks to everything. I don't know what it is. I don't know if she's a mutant. I don't know if she's an alien.
She don't have her dewclaws. Me and Shane were talking about how she's a mutant the other day. But I don't have a tail either. So I don't know what it is but her hair out of all of them is the stickiest. All my dogs have different hair. The little Datsuns, they have shorter hair. Moonpie has sticky hair. Rocky has very coarse hair. His hair, oh my gosh, it'll itch the holy far out of you. It itches so bad. But Moonpie's in particular stick so I have to literally go over and vacuum over and over and over on the rug to pick it up. And Shane, it doesn't help that Shane broke the belt off my favorite little $20 vacuum bless his heart he was
trying but he broke the belt on my little $20 vacuum and I loved that thing so it lasted longer than a lot of people said it would when I said it was a $20 vacuum everybody's like that won't last two weeks it did it lasted quite a while thank you it lasted a quite a while time I'll probably end up getting another one. I don't trust my house with the fancy vacuums I don't get a robo vacuum because I don't trust the house. I have a lot of dog hair I would kill it. It would burn out in no time. Same with those really fancy pretty cordless vacuums
Uh-uh, it wouldn't live in this house. So I'm going with the $20 vacuum every time it's corded, but it works and it isn't expensive to replace if it gets messed up I tried bringing my leather chairs in here and it just didn't look right It felt too crowded and I loved the color brought in here, but it just felt really crowded I saw I didn't end up leaving them in here But I did end up taking these pictures off the wall in here, which thankfully I hung them with tacks I will do that from here on out if it's nothing heavy I'm doing that because whenever we removed all with tacks. I will do that from here on out. If it's nothing heavy, I'm doing that because whenever we removed all these tacks, I didn't have big
gaping holes in the wall like I would have if we had used nails for every single one of those. So it's either tacks or command strips and I prefer tacks because command strips always bring off the paint in in my house for some reason. I don't know. I added a green tree in the corner to the left of the fireplace to add some greenery in here and I love that tree. It is so pretty. It's got something like grapes or dates on it like faux grapes or dates. I'll show y'all towards the ends of the video. I'll show you guys here in a minute a really close-up look and it's absolutely
gorgeous. I got it on Amazon. It was a little bit of an investment but it brings such a like cozy feel in here. It feels very homey. I love this thing. I'll have it linked somewhere Like I said, it was an investment I could just went out and chopped a tree down and put it in a pot and called it a day But I really loved the way that this look I love the way that all of this came together And I'm so stinking excited to get on the other wall
I can't wait to show you guys what we're gonna do in that area. Thank y'all for hanging out with me. I hope y'all have a blessed morning, evening, night, whatever it is, wherever you're at. Know that I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more! I can't wait to show you guys what we're gonna do in that area. Thank y'all for hanging out with me. I hope y'all have a blessed morning, evening, night, whatever it is, wherever you're at. Know that I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more! I'll see y'all in the next one.
