Hello, everybody.Welcome to the United Stands.I'm Mark Goldbridge.This is your latest Manchester United transfer news.I told you I'd be back at eight o 'clock, and it's a bloody good job I was, because there are some big updates coming in in the Man United transfer world.Fernandes, Chumini, Edison, lots to get into.

The summer starts here.We may have only finished against Brighton a couple of hours ago, but it's kicking off.Simon Stone, Fabrizio Romano, Chris Wheeler, all big updates around Man Utd's transfer activity.And we may already know who our midfield three is.It's exciting.It's the summer.

We've closed last season off 71 points.Michael Carrick is the manager.Next season is judgment season.can we do it?Well to do it we need to be active and it looks like we are going to be active.Edison could be done this week.

Big update coming in from Fabrizio Romano.There is an agreement in place with Man United and Edison for personal terms.Face -to -face conversations took place in recent days to discuss a deal.We've also spoken with Atalanta.Man United have agreed personal terms with him.He is prioritising the move to Old Trafford and is currently waiting for United to push forward with Atalanta after face -to -face talks in Italy.

We've also got a Tuomini update from Fabrizio as well.Ben Jacobs jumping in two -footed and saying verbally agreed a five -year contract at Man United.Club -to -club talks are advancing.Also talks of Fernandes from Ben Jacobs as well.And Simon Stone, BBC journalist for Manchester United, says there is concrete interest from Man United in Edison.Talks have taken place and a transfer is not being ruled out.

Just to add to that, when Simon Stone says an Edison deal it'swe move on to the Chiomini story, which is very interesting, and the Fernandez story, which obviously is very interesting now West Ham have been relegated.None of what I'm talking tonight is, by the way, speculative.It's all coming in from journalists.I'll give you the opinion on it.There is a risk with Edison.

there is a risk with Edison, but there is an opportunity to get that deal done.And you balance that off with, I don't like Edison, I don't like Edison, to we've got one of our three midfielders in and it's not even June.And I think that is the balance.I think the Edison deal is a little bit like Michael Carrick.I do.I think that, you know, I saw Andy Mitton saying that Carrick's points per game ratio is incredible.

If he'd had a full season, he'd have more points than Arsenal.in relation to his points to game ratio and then somebody replied to his tweet and said that's not yet but one game a week and he replied and he went oh of course it's in you know it's it's it's virtually impossible to do that next season so you know Carrick's done really well but there's an acknowledgement that there are circumstances that have helped that I think you know there are people myself included who worry about the Carrick appointment and hope that it goes well And I think there are people with the Edison deal that worry about it going badly, but hope it goes well.I think Edison's that type of deal.But if you're signing three players, one of them can be a bit of a risk.You know, they can, they can be.And I think that from what I've seen today, it feels like our midfield three is Chiomini, Fernandes and Edison.

which is very interesting because two of those players are external to the Premier League, which sort of flies in the face of, oh, we want Premier League proven players because, you know, Edison couldn't be more out of our parameters, not Premier League proven over 26.Tuominy will be 26.in January as well.So look, Edison's 27 in July, Tuomini's 27 in January, and he's not played in the Premier League before.So look, in a way they're exciting in the sense that we're signing players that aren't, you know, Premier League proven players and aren't under 26.What would you feel like if it was Edison, Fernandes from West Ham and Tuomini?

I mean, There is an element of risk there, but it's not a bad combination.I'd probably say it's a 6 -7, you know, and I hate doing that, but I'd probably say it's a 6 or a 7, depending on how they settle in.With Edison, it looks like it's like there.It's a weird one.And you know, in football, you never fail to be surprised by things, because I think with the Edison deal, I genuinely You know, I've been doing this for a long time, but I've also been following transfers since I was about eight.Teletext, page 312.

Transfers have always fascinated me, not just Man United.I've always been fascinated by the transfer window and, you know, the bullshit and the reality.

And I did feel with Edison that it was a I felt that it was agent -led.I just didn't think we were going to do this deal, because he's a player that we were looking at three years ago.He's never played in the Premier League.He's not a Brazilian international.He's 27 in the summer.He's quite expensive at 35 million with one year left on his contract.

I really did think it's just paper talk.But we've agreed personal terms.It's a straightforward deal with Atalanta.I think it's going to happen.I mean, for a deal that I thought was a load of bullshit, I actually think it's going to happen.I just think, I just think I can't speak for anybody else.

but if it does happen, I'm just going to have to get on board with it and say, welcome to Manchester United.I hope it works out.I hope you're not the next Agaté.I hope you're not the next Fred.I hope you are the next Ander Herrera.I hope it works out.

But it looks like it's going to happen.And as I said, to have one of the three in before the end of June might not be a bad thing.

The only thing I will say is I think there are better options but I think it probably does come down to price and as much as we moan about price, it's not the transfer fee for me, it's the wage.I don't like what I'm hearing about wages but, and I'll come back to that in a minute because Ciumini and wages has been mentioned, I think we have a wage structure and I don't like it but also in relation to budget, we can't buy three 60 million pound midfielders we clearly are working to a budget around 150 and if you buy edison for 35 you've got 120 to spend on the other two so if you get one in for 50 you've got 70 for the other and i think that's what it comes down to but in relation to edison there's been a raft of updates in the last hour saying that this deal is basically for Manchester United to do.

Mo says, what about a five year contract?Yes.

I mean, you know, I can't, I can't, I can't swerve that one.Although I was going to swerve it and you've sort of pulled me in.And this is the brilliance of the United stand is that if somebody puts me on the spot, I won't swerve it.I wasn't going to do anything other than Man United have verbally agreed a five year contract with Edison.It's too long.It's way too long.

He's 27 in July and we're giving them a contract and he's 32.It's long.It's very, very long.But it's probably four years with an option.But, you know, his wages are probably very cheap as well.Yeah.

I mean, I can't say anything more than that.He's never played in the Premier League.He doesn't play for Brazil.He's 27 when we sign him and we're giving him a five year deal.I'd take him to 30.I'd give him a three plus one.

I think that's fair.But it looks like we're doing a four plus one.

Roy Keane doubting Anderson.I need more than that rate.It's not exciting to bring your strategy at the first occasion.It's concerning.Only positive is Carrick leading since 26 plus as 83.Why three?

Edison feels a bit underwhelming, says Goldbridge.

But I feel he can be the Wijnaldum type signing that can be a crowd favourite and important squad member for a decent price.Goldbridge, I'm loving.I am absolutely loving the Wijnaldum.That is knowledge.I love that.I absolutely love that.

How misleading is 10 Hogs, 75 points?No one talks about it.I mean, we will talk about it now because it's fresh, but next season, no one will talk about third place and 71 points because nobody spoke about 10 Hogs, third place and 75 points.It got completely and utterly forgotten.So you're only as good as the season you're operating in.So I don't think there's anything to discuss there.

Ciuomini, I want to discuss.This is only probably going to be quite a quick show tonight, by the way.I was going to do a 10 minute pre -record, but I thought, fuck that.We're live.We're going live.So this was a significant update.

This was what Romano said tonight about Ciuomini.

Internally, he is a dream target and a potential long -term Casemiro -style signing.

However, the deal is viewed as very difficult and very complicated due to his high salary and Real Madrid's current stance.Doors are closed for now.Ciumini is a player Man Utd believes could be another Casemiro, and he is a player they love and dream of, Fabrizio Romano.And look, on the one hand, yeah, tell me something I don't know.Man United would love to sign Chiomini.On the other hand, we are getting exactly what we have had with Anderson and Tonali and now Chiomini.

Concerns about the wage and the price.And this is where it's going to all fall down.You know, Edison, we debate Edison, but he's cheap.We debate Fernandez, but he's cheap.And when it comes to Anderson, Tonali and Chiomini, oh, they're too expensive.We're going to struggle if we rule out expensive players, because there's a reason they're expensive.

If Edison was on 250 grand a week and 100 million pounds, we won't go anywhere near him.

The reason Ciuomini and Anderson and Tenali are going to be

grand a week and 100 million pounds in some cases is because they're worth it.We cannot use that excuse for every good player to replace Casemiro.I don't mind Edison and I don't mind Fernandez if you get Tenali, Anderson or Tuomini, but do not turn your back on them because they're too expensive.The reason they're expensive is because you are replacing a three times Champions League winner who you paid 350 grand a week, who scored you a shitload of goals and was one of your best players this season and is gonna play centre midfield for Brazil in the World Cup.You are not going to replace that with a relegated West Ham midfielder or an Atalanta midfielder or a Brighton midfielder or a Bournemouth midfielder or an Everton midfielder.You are going to have to replace that person with a Champions League proven international who plays for Newcastle and has played in the Champions League, or a Real Madrid French international who's played in the Champions League, or an England international who is at the wrong club who has the potential to be one of England's best midfielders.

That's how you replace Casemiro.You do not replace him with what you're looking to do it with.You can get the Atalanta midfielder and the West Ham midfielder as one and two, but three has to be the real deal.We need three midfielders.Two of them can be Fernandes and Edison.But the third one defines the other two by being the Casimiro replacement.

You don't buy three players around the same level but that aren't Casimiro.So we have to spend the money on the Casimiro replacement.It's a little bit like Bruno Fernandes leaving and Man United going, oh, Leeds have got a good number 10.Oh, Everton have got a good number 10.And why don't we get Tottenham's number 10 as well?No, if you remember

Bruno Fernandes, you have got to go and get an elite number 10 and it's exactly the same with Casemiro.I mean, you look at Manu today, good game, 20 years of age, he's gonna dip, he's gonna go down.It has to be an elite midfielder for Manchester United and I'm getting a little bit tired of hearing Oh, I mean, look, this is literally what Romano said.The deal is viewed as very difficult due to his high salary.What the fuck are we doing?What are we doing about...

Why is a high salary now suddenly a barrier to Manchester United?What is a high salary as well?We have, and this is complete and utter speculation, we clearly have set a bloody wage barrier up, haven't we?We clearly have said we don't want to pay over this for wages anymore.Well, we're fucked.We're going to end up like Nice.

We are screwed.If business people put business parameters into an entertainment business, you're fucked.

We do need to give Ali Anderson £250 ,000 a week for this, this and this reason.We have got to do that.

And I think it's disgusting, the lack of appreciation that has been given to Sunderland by everybody, the media, as everybody.

Personal terms are done.He wants to come to us.We don't even need to say yes.We don't even need to do that deal.

He's not going to the World Cup.We could leave that deal for a month.We don't need to do it.We could negotiate with Atalanta for six weeks.

What's their wage?We reckon we can get them for 125 grand a week.Okay, so half the wage of Tumini and Tenali, yeah?So Tenali is going to cost you a million pounds a month in wages, 250 grand a week.And over a year, that's 12 million pounds, yeah?12 million pounds for Tenali or Tumini in wages a year.

Half of that on 125 grand a week for Scott or Buleba, 6 million.

So across 12 months, it's a £6 million difference in wages, yeah?And you've got a problem with that.Next season, if we struggle and we don't get top five because Chelsea or Newcastle or whoever playing one game a week do, you've just cost this club at least £50 million by not being in the Champions League.

Your £6 million you don't want to pay to Tonali in wages suddenly looks very stupid, doesn't it?Compared to the £50 million you've just lost.Pay the fucking money for the player.I'm here all week.Imagine would actually let Bruno go last summer, where would we be since carbon?Yeah, but you know what?

There's a lot of people who are revising.I mean, I can only speak for this community, but there's a lot of people revising what was said.The offer from Saudi was 90 million and Bruno spent two weeks thinking about it.

So not only was there a 90 million pound offer on the table, there was also a player that was thinking about leaving.It wasn't like United fans invented this.

He spent two weeks thinking about going to Saudi.We knew the offer was 90 million.And even knowing all those things, everybody said, if he's playing in the midfield, take the money.If he's playing as a number 10, keep him.And that wasthe story. This

This nonsense that people are saying, oh, and United fans wanted to sell him last summer.

I don't remember anybody after the Europa League final saying, sell Bruno Fernandes at any price.He was in talks with Saudi.It was 90 million pounds.And everybody said, if he's going to play in the midfield, take the deal.That was it.That's the story.

And people are going, oh, Bruno haters sit down.You all wanted to sell him.And it was like, that wasn't the story at all.It was actually multi -layered context.Just a thought, Mark.Maybe they want to avoid a situation like Rashford's high salary.

But I agree, we need good players with high wages.It's done.And thank you very much for that.

And if our board is hell -bent on getting Rodgers, then why won't Carrick rotate Sesco and Cunha up top and Bermo Ahmad right and Rodgers and Dorgo on the left?I mean, that could work, one and only.That could work.Edison, Pounds should be going to Anderson or Tonali deals, says Mo.Do you think the board is stuck between buying squad players for a rotation or buying one or two top -tier players, given our budget not looking like much, says Spears.

The problem you've got is that We're trying to build something for the future on a cheap wage budget.

But you've got Luke Shaw on £170 ,000 a week.You've got Maguire on £190 ,000 a week.And you've got Mason Mount on £250 ,000 a week.And those wages are a joke.And I think Delitz on about £200 ,000 a week as well.So we've got a lot of money.
