Also, Laurie Whitwell from The Athletic giving a very interesting insight into Manchester United's managerial recruitment process.Bruno Fernandes slamming Roy Keane as a liar.And a hell of a lot more to get into as well as Nottingham Forest put an incredible price tag on to Anderson.Is it true?Is it safe?Also, we've got my Premier League predictions reactions reaction coming up after this.

if that makes any sense, but loads to get into this morning.And look, I suppose the place to start is, and there are so many places we could start, is that I want to sort of start off with what Fabrizio has come out with and said, I think it was early hours this morning.Maybe, maybe it was later last night, but essentially saying that from what I understand, these are the quotes from Fabrizio Romano.He says, from what I understand, Man United are in discussions with several players and quite soon before the World Cup, they're going to decide side on at least one priority target to go and close the deal.Now remember, I don't take any credit for this, I think we collectively can take credit for this as the United Stand and the amazing community you are and the amazing work goes in behind scenes.I did a video last week on the 10 o 'clock show saying that the source we used last year for a couple of things haven't really had a lot, but what they said is Man United are going to make a big signing before the World Cup.

And now a lot of people went, bullshit, that's not going to happen.Well, it clearly is, again, a brilliant early exclusive for you if you watched last week, but you're getting it now from maybe sources that you want to believe more.

That is going to happen.So very, very pleased about that.And hopefully that's up, you know, fingers crossed, that's going to be a big signing.of things to come where maybe we can get it slightly ahead But United are gonna make a big signing before the World Cup Maybe maybe even more according to Fabrizio what it feels like and somebody said do you think Edison will happen today?I feel with Edison United have basically done the put done the deal done the personal terms five -year deal wages He wants to come.

There's probably not a lot of competition.They think he's cheap at £40 million, which I don't think he is. I don't think £40 million is cheap for a one -year player from Serie A who's 27, but United think it's cheap.It's an easy deal to do, and it's there to be done.

I don't feel like...And look, the one Don says, is Edison a big signing?

Look, what we think is a big signing isn't necessarily what Man United think is a big signing.Yeah, I mean, that's subjective, isn't it?I mean, do I think Edison's a big signing?Yes and no.I think it's a big statement to get a midfielder in before the World Cup, considering the World Cup starts in the first week of June.Do I think it's the signing that's replacing Casimiro?

No.So I can see both sides of it, but it's a signing and it's and you know, whether you class it as big or not, it's down to you individually.

I think with Edison, does it happen today?It can happen today.Does it happen tomorrow?It can happen tomorrow.Does it happen on Wednesday?It can happen on Wednesday.

It might not happen at all.I think it will happen.But ultimately, I feel like United and I think the Athletic reported this as well.A few other people have reported it.It feels like Man United are lining deals up and then they're going to make their mind up.

That's what the press is saying.I have a different sort of take on that.Fabrizio is saying that, from what he understands, United are in discussions with several players and will make a move before the World Cup.And I think it was also in the Athletic that they said that Manchester United are advancing on a number of deals and they'll make a decision on whether that actually happens, who that player is going to be ultimately.I'm just trying to see if I actually flagged it.I don't think I did, but I'm sure it was in the athletic as well.

But I don't know that I believe that, because how does that work in any industry?Edison, Atalanta, his agent.

Fernandez, his agent, West Ham.

Baleba, his agent, Brighton.Scott, his agent, Bournemouth.I mean, that's an incredible amount of work.And I sort of call bullshit.Even though it's been reported by Romano and I think it was Laurie Whitwell in the Athletic, I sort of call bullshit.Not on them, they might be being told that, but we know Man United are ridiculously slow at transfers.

You're telling me that we've done personal terms, fees and talks with the club with four targets.I mean, that's a hell of a lot of work and we're not that club.So I think we might be putting it out there that we're in advanced talks with lots of different players and then we're going to make a decision.

That would be a hell of a lot of wasted energy to take every player to the door and then say, no, you're not coming in.You're not coming in.You can come in.And that's why I think Edison will happen, because universally, everybody has said that we've done the personal terms.We've agreed the deal with Atalanta and that deal can happen.I don't think we'll have done that with West Ham, Brighton, Bournemouth or any other club that we might be linked to.

So I do think that Edison will happen and I think it will happen this week.simply because he is very, very advanced.It's what we're going to do next I think is interesting.

But look, if we've had talks with four or five clubs and agreed terms with four or five players and we're going to be sat in a boardroom on Wednesday saying we can take our chuck pick because they all want to come, yabba dabba doo.

But that would be an immense amount of work.And it would be very difficult also to keep all those players happy in that situation, because one or two of them might go, fuck that, I'm not going to sit around and wait.So I think that I think Edison will happen.

And, you know, it's a bit like when Harry Maguire got left out of the England squad.I was quite annoyed by it.at the start.And then I woke up the next day and I was like, well, Tukul's the manager.

You know, Maguire hasn't played for a couple of years.He's 33.It's a hot climate.It benefits us anyway.And I think with Edison, I still retain the fact that he's a decent player.I just refuse to say he's going to be a brilliant player because, you know, when he flops, everyone goes, well, you said this.

I'm not going to do that.But I think we need to sign three midfielders.And it does look like Edison will be one of them, of course.

Interestingly, I do expect the Fernandes deal for West Ham to move very, very quickly.

Now, I was told this not by our source.I was told this by a certain journalist about a week ago.Bruno Fernandes has been asked for his opinion on a few things at United, Carrick and players.He's a big fan of Fernandes at West Ham.Michael Carrick likes the idea of Fernandes from West Ham.Remember, he was at West Ham himself.

I mean, I don't think Carrick's doing that because he used to play for West Ham, but Carrick really likes the idea of Fernandes.I think they feel with Fernandes, he is...The feedback on Fernandes at West Ham is that he's almost like another Mainou.Not similarly in play style, but here.at that age.

I think he's about 21.He's knocking on the door of the Portuguese national team, which is very difficult when you think about the Betinhas, the Jal Neveses, etc.He's available at a fantastic price.

And whilst United are wary that they need players that can hit the ground running, they feel with Fernandes, he's a player that can hit the ground running, but also massively improve.

He's almost like the perfect signing for them because he wants to come to United.The price will be relatively competitive because they've been relegated.He's knocking on the national team door in a very strong midfield.But more importantly, he has got Premier League experience and he's got loads of potential as well.So United unanimously on that board and some of the players really like the idea of this signing.What I'm told about Fernandes is Man United will try and move on that very, very quickly because West Ham have been relegated and West Ham are suddenly having to wake up this morning with a completely different mentality to what they would have if they were in the Premier League.

They're now in the Championship.They have players that want to leave.They are going to be up against people like Wolves, Wrexham, Birmingham, you know, clubs that want to get in the Premier League next year.And it's going to be very competitive.And the squad that they're going to use won't be able to use it because a lot of them will want to go.So West Ham have got to move very, very quickly to start building a team to win the Championship.

And the best way for them to do that is to cover off the financial loss.And the best way they can do that is by selling some players.And Fernandes going quickly is key to West Ham's summer.So there is a deal that can be done with Fernandes.The feeling is United need to move quick.very, very quick because PSG and Arsenal are playing a Champions League final.

They're two clubs interested in him.They will want to wait until next week.Man United have got four days, five days of a golden opportunity to be getting into West Ham and saying, look, there's the money.We want him now.He wants us.You need the money.

Let's do a deal.PSG and Arsenal are linked, but they're obviously got their eyes on other things at the moment.So there is an opportunity there with Fernandez as well.

And as I said last night, there's also an opportunity where United have two of their three midfielders done.before the World Cup.Now, that might be a stretch, and I've not heard that from anybody, but there is that opportunity that that could happen, certainly.Would you...Hi, Marks, says Rasler.

And we'll go through that.all the targets United looked at and why it didn't go anywhere.But Nagelsmann was one of the targets.

And it goes to say that Favell really likes Nagelsmann and he scored really highly on our recruitment process.But because he's managing Germany in the World Cup and Germany won't entertain anything around Nagelsmann, United didn't want to wait until after the World Cup.So if we're doing that with managers, we're like, we completely wrote off any manager that was managing in the World Cup.We might be doing that with playersWe might be doing that with players.There might be players that we like that are going to the World Cup that we're going to go no.

Now, in a way, from a player perspective, what are your thoughts on that?If there's a player that's going to play in the World Cup and you're not going to be able to speak to them until after the World Cup, do you park them and go for players that you like that aren't in the World Cup?Because Tonali's not in the World Cup, Fernandes isn't in the World Cup, Ederson isn't in the World Cup.So those three players, you could have them at Man United by the middle of July.Chiomini, Anderson, you know, you might not get to talk to them until the end of July.So do you want, you know, sometimes we critique, but other times, I think when it comes to players, what if you wait until the end of July?

late July for Turmini and then he says I'm staying at Real Madrid or actually I've had a better offer from Arsenal and then you haven't got anything.So I think next season for Manchester United, is going to be incredibly hard.

And if I was a Man United player, or I was Michael Carrick, I would bathe in the success of this son that we have today, because next season, it could be dark times.Like, you know, it's great when you're third in the league and you've qualified for the Champions League and you can say, look at what I've done, look at what I've done.

But next season, there are a lot of factors that can make it very, very difficult.So I sort of think that Next season might be about stability.Next season might be just about a good Champions League run and making sure we're back in the top five.

I mean, I want to be better than that, but, you know, I'm almost, if somebody said there's fourth place and you can take it now next season, do you want it?It goes against everything I'm about.I want to, no, screw that, I want to go higher.

But part of me, well, would you?Would you take fourth place if somebody said it's guaranteed you can take fourth placenext May, now, or you can twist and see what happens?Part of me would take that fourth place.And it's not...I'm not like that.

I don't...Fourth place, shove it up your arse.But I sort of think fourth place next season, you don't know how competitive that season's going to be.You don't know how many injuries we're going to get.Also, you don't know what we're going to do in the Cups.Fourth place, quarterfinal of the Champions League, and a Carabao Cup might be a very, very good season for us.

So I might take fourth place next season.But to do that, stabilise, consistency.We very rarely stabilise.We'll have a good season, a bad season, a good season, a bad season.So a stable season next season probably works better on the foundations of Pre -season is going to be a bit shit for United because half our team is going to be on holiday after the World Cup.But if Carrick is back on the training ground on the 10th of July and all those pre -season games in Europe, Fernandes, Ederson and Tonali are playing, that's a positive.

Now, flip that the other way.You sign Ciumini or any other player from the World Cup, they're not playing in the preseason.So there is a flip side to that.There is a flip side to that.Rowe doesn't agree, wouldn't take top four.That's fine.

A lot of people will now say we don't need to sign Elliot Anderson because he's too expensive.£115 million is ridiculous.We shouldn't sign Elliot Anderson.

And all you're doing there is giving Ineos and Jason Wilcox the opportunity to walk away.Lee Berman says, as if Man City are going to spend £115 million on a player, it would be too much.1 -1 -5.Good one, Lee.I remember back in November, I was in New York.Beth was doing her weekly show with Ben Jacobs.

I was in Bryant Square, is it, in New York at the Christmas market and I was listening to voice notes and it was going back and forward about Ben Jacobs had said Elliot Anderson's going to go for less than £80 million and there was some problem with it.I don't know whether it was an agent or Forrest or something.They weren't happy that that story was out.And I've never heard anything ever since.And it definitely wasn't a release clause.So I've always remembered that.

I'm a little bit like a, you know, what's that thing that never forgets anything?An elephant, right?I just don't buy this £115 million story.

I don't even know if I buy a hundred million pound story.I feel there is something with Elliot Anderson that is not going to be a hundred million quid.So I am not falling into the trap of we should walk away, it's too expensive, because that's what United want.United want you to say, don't get Tonali, don't get Elliot Anderson because they're too expensive.The way I look at it is, if you spend a hundred million pounds on Tonali at 26, and for the next five years, he's one of our best players, like Casemiro has been this year, that's cheap.because I'm paying £20 million a year plus wages for one of the best players at Man United.

If Elliot Anderson comes to Man United for £115 million at 23 and stays until he's 30, that's seven years divided by £115 million and he's one of our best players.

And he's probably going to be worth £150 million at least for the rest of his career with spending £100 million, £150 million on a player because he'sI've seen Chelsea do it, I've seen Liverpool do it, I've seen Real Madrid do it.I don't give a toss about spending ridiculous money on a player if they're a ridiculous talent and they're going to give us years.There seems to be this strange thing in our fan base, and I can only blame the Glazers for this, where they've turned some of our fans into accountants who hear a wage or a fee and go, no, we shouldn't do that.

Like it's going to impact you.Like you're about to get a knock on the door and say, we will be taking a grand a month out of your bank account to help pay for this deal.It will cost you nothing.It will cost you nothing.Man United have just made nearly £200m from finishing third in the Premier League.They've made another £100m from getting in the Champions League.

We're not poor.We can afford big deals.We're just in debt because of the Glazers.So we can afford big deals.I am not walking away from the right player because people think it's too expensive.

And I will hold judgment on that.If Man City pay £115 million for Elliot Anderson, Fair Play will come back and say, OK, it was expensive, but I don't think that's going to happen.

So I think that naturally there are a lot of good players out there and we can't buy them all.

So we've got to make sure we get the right players because, and that comes down to higher pay grades than us, the Scouts, Wilcox, there's almost too much choice.

You know, if Elliot Anderson was the only midfielder available, and if you don't get him, you end up with Bledi Belayba or, I don't know, Edison or, you know, some kid from Brazil.

You don't get Anderson, you're taking a risk.But if you don't get Anderson this time, there is a Tonali, there is a Chiumini, so there is a lot of choice.And I think Nusa falls into that category where I think he's a really interesting player, but he could end up at I mean, he could end up in the Premier League at arrival playing for Chelsea.You don't know.I think he's a good player.Talking of Chelsea, by the way, I mean, we shouldn't do this, but isn't it ironic, don't you think?

He asked the players their thoughts on Carrick getting the job permanently and received resounding feedback, especially from Bruno, who does not instigate or try to influence such decisions, but will give his opinion if requested.

I mean, This is one of my big issues with Wilcox.He's got no experience and he clearly has done the thing that I detest and do not like.Why do people, when they get the job at Man United, not do the research that we already know?Why would you not look at why Mourinho lost his job?Why would you not look at what happened to Rangnick?Player power.

Player power.Why would you ask the players who they want to be as manager?At what point does your brain kick in and go, Man United's dressing room shouldn't be asked anything about managers?They really shouldn't.Whether you like some of them players or not, they should not be asked.One of the biggest problems we've had in the last 10 years is that dressing room turning on managers.

You don't ask the manager, the wrestling room, what they want.And that, to me, just shows the absolute inexperience of Jason Wilcox if he's walking around the training ground asking players what they think about the manager.

I would rather live in a world where people say what they think, than live in a world where they can't.And Bruno Fernandes may be offended by what Roy Keane said, and Roy Keane might not rate Bruno Fernandes, I don't really care.The reality is, Man United have underachieved for 13 years, and third place in a league this season is good, but it's still not where Man United need to be.Some people have standards, and some people have forgotten what those standards are.

Ronaldo.Like, professional sports people who succeed get criticised and they take that criticism and they use it as energy and fuel.So I ain't got a problem with it.I ain't going to be, you know, I'm sure there'll be some content creators doing videos on how great Bruno is for calling Roy Keane a liar.Maybe he is, but let's hope that he takes that and uses that because criticism is never going to be a bad thing when Man United aren't where they need to be.

And I think Michael Carrick is a big advocate of that.And I agree with him about that.We've got to use that noise and use it as fuel.But look, Bottom line is, in my opinion, that team ain't doing anything next season if it starts next season with the squad that it's got.Michael Carrick, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, they ain't going to be able to deal next season with this squad and what's coming.So it all comes back to what we spent the first half an hour talking about.

What will Cox & Co andto do over the next three months is going to define whether this is a first step towards United getting back on track or whether it's going to be what we've seen for the last 13 years.Good season, bad season, good season, bad season.
