Elgin man says armed burglars ransacked his property, stole cash and guns

Elgin family says they woke up to discover armed masked burglars had spent minutes roaming their property while they slept.

Now they're sharing security video and hoping it helps investigators catch those responsible.K views.Jessica Cha has the story for seven years.This Elgin man says his home has been a place of peace, nice and away from the city.

Quiet, peaceful and supposedly no crime.

We're not sharing his name for safety reasons because.On Thursday morning, that piece was stolen.

All my vehicles, all the doors were open.My.My shed was open everything.

He says it all happened around 130 in the morning while he and his family were asleep in their home.Security footage shows a black SUV driving onto their property and a group of masked men entered his shed with guns drawn.

Every glove box, every single item it was haunted.

Footage also shows two of the men helping themselves to a drink out of the fridge right in view of security cameras.

They don't care what happens.They're not afraid.

Next, he says the group went through the cars parked outside.

They broke into my car and my wife's what they take from two firearms, truck accessories.So I had some money in there.

Overall, he says about $10 ,000 worth of items were stolen from them.He says he's just glad he and his family are safe, but claims they weren't the only victims that night.

found a report with the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office and the Sheriff's Office says they are investigating the case for the safety of the community.This Elgin man says he hopes these people are caught soon.

Material things are material things that can be replaced.I can go by them whenever, but they hurt somebody and you know, take their life.You can't fix that in Elgin.
