That's internet engineer number four because we still don't have working fibre.But he suddenly called and said, could I come this morning instead?And I'm figuring that an internet engineer in the bag is worth at a later date.So I'm thinking, yes, I'm going to run in and meet him there and see if we can get the fiber working.Can you imagine having Wi -Fi at the house?I mean, each of the little things that we managed to do is making it feel more like home.

I am loving, loving, loving this weather.I am having to use an actual umbrella.

I could not be happier right now.And don't get me wrong.Usually, I love blue skies.That's my favorite thing.This sort of weather is more fillet.But, oh, my goodness, you can have too much of a good day.

Two engineers arrived this time, and they spent ages, I mean, well over an hour looking at the live box.And they're not really responsible for the live box itself.They're responsible for the line.But they've been so adorable.They said that they've tested everything.They're sure it is the box itself.

So they've decided to locate a live box somewhere this afternoon and come back and try and fit it for me, which is not actually part of their job.So they're being really, really sweet.The saga of the internet continues.And I don't know, what do you think?Is it going to be fixed today?I mean, I'd put it at 50 -50 at the most.

But as I'm here, I'm going to go out with a measuring tape and measure the width of the gate, because we need to order a skip for all of the demolition work that needs to be done here.But we have to bring it into the garden.We can't keep it on the road.And our gate is quite narrow, so I'm not too sure if they're going to have anything narrow enough to get in here.So I'll call the skip company today.with the measurements.

Please hold, hold.Let's call that 263.actually i nearly made a big mistake i was saying that's not that narrow but i measured from here and look it goes in here i need to measure from the base it did seem a lot to me okay 253 that seems more like it let's hope they have something that can fit in because having a skip right next to the house in the garden would make all of the building work so much easier here you're not going to believe this wait until i open this box Do you see it?A solid orange light.Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that means we have working Wi -Fi and I've tested it and it's super fast.This is a wonderful, wonderful day and now I can go home.

I am home and not only am I on a high about the Wi -Fi, I am wearing sunglasses.Yes, the weather has gone completely insane and now it is absolutely absolutely beautiful.And we can enjoy the sunshine even more knowing that there's been rain on the garden.So everyone's happy.In fact, I'm going to go and open the door of the chapel to let it air because we try and keep it all closed up when it's raining so it doesn't get humid again.It's doing so well.

There's no smell of damp anymore and I definitely don't want it coming back.Wow, the light is lovely in here today.But I am realising that I'm going to need some sort of specialist cobweb remover that can get six metres, five metres high, because we're starting to get cobwebs around the stained glass windows.And without any scaffolding, I can't get up there to get them down.Surely there must be some sort of telescopic thing that I can use for that.because right now that spider is laughing at me. I feel as though I've done all the fun stuff of the day now.

I've got the wi -fi sorted.That's really exciting.I've been to the chapel.I actually had a little sit there and it was lovely.And now I can't put off the fact that I have an enormous mountain of paperwork to do so I've decided I think I'm going to do it in the kitchen.I've set a little space up for myself.

Marie's not cooking this evening because we're having sushi night.She is going to go and pick up Maria at the train station and they're bringing back sushi with them so it's going to be a lovely evening but it means no one needs to cook in here so I can make a bit of a mess and it's more sociable being in the kitchen because I don't like doing the paperwork and it really helps to have people popping in and out and seeing them.Yes mummy it made it like chaos but all of the piles mean something to me.Okay I've been at it for nearly an hour now so I'm allowed to stop and have a little bit of fun and there's something I've been wanting to tell you about.I've been looking forward to it so I will do that now and then I promise I am getting back to the admin.

I got some other outfits from them that I've been wearing during the week.I've been getting summer trousers from them.I have a beige pair and they're incredibly comfortable.And I also got a pair in pale blue.So I think that they're going to be quite a staple from now on.I've been wearing them a lot since they got here.

So I have about half an hour out here reading the Georgetown novel that was in the collection that Philip got for La Touche.I haven't got very far yet, but I'm reading a chapter or two a day, and occasionally glancing up to enjoy the view.And it's actually quite shocking because when I'm reading Georgetown, I'm reading a writer whose books were published only 15 -20 years after those of Jane Austen.But they could not be more different.I just read a bedroom scene that can only be described for the day, certainly, as quite raunchy, not something you would ever, ever read in a Jane Austen novel.I don't know if it's because the French have always been just a little bit more risqué, or if those 15, 20 years really made such a huge, huge difference in what was acceptable, or was it simply the fact that Georgetown pushed all boundaries of society.

She would dress as a man to make a point that she wanted to beas a man and have the same rights as a man.She ran around the whole world having affairs.I mean, she lived in a way that you would not expect a woman of the day to have lived and her novels definitely reflect that and it's pretty good reading.
