EXPLAINED: Kylian Mbappé's situation at Real Madrid | "He's become a scapegoat"

Well, first of all, I think we have got to be a little bit careful because, you know, If really 30 real people have signed this petition, it would make it the biggest petition in the history of the world.Also, just for perspective, the population of Spain is around 50 million.So you're honestly telling me that 30 million real people have signed a petition asking for a player who scored 41 goals for Real Madrid to be thrown out of the club.Take it with a pinch of salt, but I think it does highlight the fact that a lot of Real Madrid supporters are unhappy with Kylian Mbappé.Why are they unhappy with him?I think he's become a scapegoat because Real Madrid are not going to win a trophy again this season.

He's been injured for a couple of weeks and he was photographed and filmed going on holiday with his girlfriend, a very famous Spanish actress called Esther Exposito.They flew off to Sardinia on his private jet.I think they were on a yacht.They were having some romantic meals.It was all over the papers in Spain.This hasn't gone down well with Real Madrid fans because their team are 11 points behind Barcelona at the moment.

The Clasico on Sunday.It's likely that Barcelona will be crowned La Liga champions again on Sunday.Meanwhile, their star player has been off on holiday with his girlfriend.Now, to be fair to Kylian Mbappe, his representatives have come out and said, this is a storm in a teacup.This is getting out of hand.The player has done nothing wrong.

He had permission from Real Madrid's medical department to have a holiday for a few days and he's back in Madrid now.But this petition does highlight the fact that Real Madrid fans are unhappy with the fact that their team are not doing very well at the moment they were knocked out of the Champions League and they're not going to win La Liga again and Barcelona of course doing so well under Hansi Flick.

Yeah as you said maybe take the 30 million with a pinch of salt but they are estimated I think 600 million global fans around Madrid so we'll see how many of them are bots we don't know as you say he has delivered goals.But you sort of touched upon it there, Kaveh.This is a wider unrest about the state of the club at the moment.Barcelona running away with the league, but it's everything around the Bernabeu at the moment.

Yeah, I think the problem with Kylian Mbappe is he is a Galactico.And PSG basically decided that he was more trouble than he was worth.Luis Enrique, brilliant manager, probably the best manager in the world at the moment.He's all about the team.And if you watch Kylian Mbappe play, He is the kind of player who, when his side don't have the ball, he does very little.He kind of hangs around the centre circle waiting for somebody to pass to him.

In modern football, that doesn't work.Also, Real Madrid fans asking the question again and again, can we have a side with Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe in it?There's no balance if you have both of those players in the side.I think that's another reason why We've seen this petition and Real Madrid fans saying, look, we need to get rid of this guy.He's more trouble than he's worth.Of course, look what's happened at PSG since he's left.

They were trying to win the Champions League.That was the holy grail when he was at the club.As soon as he's left, they won the Champions League, and now they're back in the Champions League again.Whereas at Real Madrid, despite the fact that Kylian Mbappein two seasons has scored 85 goals, they haven't won a major trophy.

Yeah, and that European Cup for Real Madrid is the most important thing, isn't it?We've seen this before with Gareth Bale.When Real Madrid fans perceive that something is more important in your life than the football club, they're not happy.How do you see it all playing out?

So bad news perhaps for Kylian Mbappe if Jose Mourinho really does become the next Real Madrid manager because Mbappé has already seen off Xabi Alonso who was trying to instill some discipline in that Real Madrid dressing room.I don't think he'd be seeing off Jose Mourinho any time soon.Mbappé and Mourinho, now there's a clash of egos.Cave, fascinating stuff as always.
