Family With Quadruplets Knocked Back For Government Rental Help After Donations | 10 News

It's been revealed the Brisbane mother of rare identical quadruplets had an application for state government rental assistance knocked back after receiving generous donations.Let's go to Brendan Smith now.And Brendan, this happened after Queenslanders dug deep online.

Yeah, Sharon, more than $60 ,000 was donated to the family to help them meet the cost of raising eight children.Currently, the Narmoanas live in a small three -bedroom private rental and will now need much more space.But less than 24 hours after the donations began flowing, a Department of Housing officer emailed the couple, warning that because of that extra income, they are now ineligible for rental assistance through Rent Connect.Advocates for the family say they were highly distressed by the news.This case was then escalated to the Housing Minister, his office rather, where the decision was quickly reversed.
