Father talks after 4 children found dead in Mechanicville apartment

We're continuing to stay on top of what's happened in Mechanicville with the death investigation.It was Channel 13's Dan Levy has been following this since it first happened.He joined us earlier in this newscast, but he's going to join us again because he's just spoken with the father of the four children.who were found dead inside that Harris Avenue apartment in Mechanicville.Police say the children were 13 -year -old Harper Harmon, 11 -year -old Hudson Harmon, and 10 -year -old twins Gavin and Gracelyn.Dan joins us now with what their father is saying this afternoon.

Dan, good afternoon to you.

Good afternoon, Mark.I was able to get in touch with Brady Harmon at his home in Salt Lake City.Just a little while ago, he told me Local Salt Lake City Police came to his home two nights ago to give him the horrible news and to say that he's devastated and heartbroken.That would be a major understatement.He told me that he's been trying to get custody or at least visitation with his four kids for six years.The last time he saw them in person was in November 2019 and he says he's gone through every legal channel he could and he thought he told me he was near the finish line because he was getting ready to fly to the East Coast next week to pick up his kids on July 1st and to fly them back to Utah so that he could spend the summer with them.

But then all of this broke loose.And here's more of what he had to tell me.

Yeah, I wish there was something else I could have done legally.But I went through everything I could, everything that my lawyers could do, everything.I just never thought that someone would go and do this.You talk about the feeling of, how do you prepare for this?You get down to almost the finish line just to have someone cut your legs out from underneath you.And the only thing left to do is crawl across the finish line to bring the remains home.
