Floodwater Was Pouring Into Our House… Then We Realized the Puppy Was Missing

It's happening! The water's coming in!

My daughter screamed as water started pouring under our front door and spreading across the floor. I grabbed towels and blankets, shoving them against the door, but the water kept forcing its way inside like it wouldn't stop. Within seconds, the hallway was soaked.

It's coming in too fast!

He had run into the back room earlier. and grabbed the handle, but it wouldn't move. The pressure from the water outside had jammed it shut. The water kept creeping across the floor and all I could think about was him trapped in there. I stepped back and kicked the door as hard as I could. The frame cracked and it finally burst open and the room had inches of water covering the floor. His favorite chew toy was floating slowly in circles,

but the puppy wasn't there. but the puppy wasn't there. My heart sank.
