Fox News Host HUMILIATES Hakeem Jeffries after Shutdown BACKFIRES On Democrats
American Zone
Welcome back to Zone Media Network. So today, Hakeem Jeffries was on Fox News, kind of not exactly friendly territory for him, and he was completely humiliated. You see, the government shutdown has continued and it is backfiring on Schumer and Jeffries. And now he's so desperate that he's even decided to show up on Fox News, the enemy's network, for him. And he went and tried to defend himself. So I'm just gonna break it down, show you the interview, because you're not gonna want
to miss this. Check this out.
Well, first of all, we don't view the current bill as anything other than a partisan Republican spending bill that continues to gut the healthcare of the American people.
It's at levels that you guys have already agreed to. A number of Democrats voted for this extension back in March. It's not adding or detracting anything. It's just continuing the levels of spending that currently exist. Actually
it's not at levels that we agreed to. Democrats strongly opposed this legislation in the House because in our view it gut veterans health care, gut funding for women, infants, and children programming, gut funding for affordable housing, and we know we have a housing crisis in this country, housing costs are too high, and gut funding
for healthcare.
Just to be clear though, it's not changing current levels, nothing's getting cut, it's at levels that you may not like, but it's about extending levels as they currently exist. Fair?
Right, we agree that current, no, we agree that current spending levels are unacceptable. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was called out and exposed for lying in the middle of his interview on Fox. He literally was trying to imply that the Republicans were cutting funding in the resolution even though the proposed levels are exactly the same as what Democrats voted for earlier this year. Chuckie Schumer, he was fine with it before but now he's not. The blatant lying is just it's not working for Hakeem Jeffries and the Democratic Party. You see for the last 12 days, 12 days, Hakeem has been trying to lie about the reality of the
situation. Now as we said many times on this channel before, Hakeem is trying to connect a completely separate issue to the Republican Party. He's trying to get it to stick because he's like, I need this to stick. Otherwise my life is going to suck. It is right now for him, but he's really trying hard to blame the Republicans. For the shutdown and this issue, he's trying to connect the two.
It's not working. And the fact that Hakeem feels the need to go on Fox News and to convince the public that like The Democrats are the so-called heroes Okay, you know that's gonna give you a hint of how desperate he is right now because he would never show up there normally ever Why would he?
The Democrats are bringing the Obamacare subsidies into the conversation, even though they have nothing to do with the shutdown. They don't even expire until the end of the year. But the Democrats would love to have you believe that the Republicans are cutting the subsidies. Now Hakeem Jeffries has taken the country hostage. With no action, he'd willingly have the troops go without pay. But thankfully, Trump has reallocated funds from other non-essential
federal agencies to ensure that all military members are paid when their paychecks are due to be sent.
First, let's talk about the continuing resolution that Democrats are voting against. It's been repeatedly voted against in the Senate. We're now, I think, eight votes into this. So, the New York Times describes the bill this way. They say Democrats have misused budget jargon to assail the Republican budget proposal as dirty, but the bill is considered clean, meaning all it does is extend current funding levels for I believe about seven weeks is what the Republicans are proposing. The Democrats say you want to undo part of what Republicans call the big beautiful bill,
that you want to add money back for things like NPR, and that's at the cost of funding the troops, funding air traffic controllers, funding SNAP benefits. So what's the message to the American people about why you won't vote for this clean measure where you could continue to negotiate these things instead kind of holding it hostage in Republicans verbiage to these other interests that are partisan in nature?
Well, Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the presidency, and unfortunately, they've made the decision to take a my way or the highway approach. We've repeatedly made clear—
But of course, it's important to make clear, too, that they need Senate votes.
—we want to sit down, reopen the government, and negotiate a bipartisan path forward.
They do control all of those bodies, but they do need Senate votes from Democrats, and they've had some in order to move something there.
Which is why there should be a bipartisan negotiation. Now, my friends on the other side of the aisle, they seem to believe that health care is an extraneous issue. We don't believe it's an extraneous issue. It's a central issue. This is the wealthiest country in the history of the world. And people throughout this country should be able to afford to go see a doctor when
they need one for themselves, their family, their children. We're fighting for couples which, in this particular moment in time, for instance, a couple that makes $88,000 a year, currently receives tax credits connected to the Affordable Care Act, pays about $8,000 a year, which is already too expensive, but if we allow the Affordable Care Act tax credits to expire, their costs will triple to $24,000 a year.
That's unacceptable. And, by the way, the states that are most affected are all states that Donald Trump has won. In fact, I think it's the top five states are West Virginia, Wyoming, Alaska, Mississippi and Tennessee. So, this is Alaska, Mississippi, and Tennessee. So this is not a partisan fight for us. We're fighting for everyday Americans,
working class Americans, and middle class Americans, by the way, who are also dealing with a cost of living crisis in this country, because costs are far too high. Life has gotten more expensive this year, not less, despite the Republican promise that they were going to lower costs on day one.
I'll keep Jeffries. We'll continue beating this dead horse and calling out an artificial healthcare prices that apparently he thinks is the Republican's fault, but it's not the reality of the situation. You see, the Democrats are holding out until October 18th. It's been confirmed. They want to hold out until the no Kings protest shows up in DC and then they're gonna
I it sounds like to me they're just gonna basically know all hell's gonna break loose they're gonna unleash it and really try to pin a really bad situation on the president and use that as a reason to convince people to not vote for Republicans in the midterms and also score a big political victory saying, aha, see, see, see what he's done? And that's, you know, sounds like what they're pretty much they're going to do. They've already outright said they're going to wait until the 18th or that they can't.
I believe I heard from Speaker Johnson the other day say that. So it's like great. You're gonna have to wait till the 18th, which is crazy. The Republicans, it's not their fault. It's not. The Republicans have no connection to this deadline the Democrats have set. In regards to the subsidies, ending in December, I mean, it was set to expire on December 31st, whether or not the shutdown happened anyways. But the Democrats have decided to completely shut down everything else because they haven't gotten what they wanted. The
spending package that the progressives have demanded has not been granted, thankfully. And they're throwing a hissy fit. So Democrats are believing their best plan is to blame Republicans for the shutdown, hold out until October 18th it sounds like, and use a combination of that and also, you know, the Obamacare subsidies thing. They're going to try slap that on them too. They're really trying hard because they've not had a lot of wins and they are really trying. They seem like they're committed to this, which is kind of scary because no King's movement, also not a good one, just like Antifa.
So it is concerning what could possibly happen on that day. But it is great to hear the president said that he allocated funds so that way the military personnel will be paid. Which I think kind of resolves a potential issue of things getting really bad because the mayor of DC already okayed Trump to have military personnel in DC so I think that whole scenario where like a lot of rioting gets out of hand I think is
actually gonna get squashed pretty quickly which is good and so that's kind of a relief now that I think about it but we won't know until it happens and we'll you know pay you know we'll pay really close attention on October 18th when it does come around. You see, right now the Republicans, they are holding a majority in Congress and also in the White House.
But the American people, they're not dumb. They voted President Trump into office and he's doing exactly what he said he's going to do. So they're not really mad at him. They know the Democrats are the reason the proposal to reopen the government is not getting the 60 votes in the Senate that it needs. And if a few more Democratic senators were to side
with Republicans, then the whole mess that Jefferson should have created would be over instantly. The entire country deserves to have their government work for them. And yet the Democrats are holding the federal government hostage until they get what they want. You know, public tantrums like this. They haven't worked in the past, but the Democrats are desperate, it seems, to harm the Republican Party's reputation because they, the Republican Party's been on a win streak with President Trump. They want to do whatever they can to elevate themselves and get some more seats. They do not want to give the
president more margin of error, especially even like the RINOs or Republicans who are not for the president's agenda. Because if you have a lot more MAGA type senators and congressmen, you know, in the Capitol then that gives the, you know, the Trump administration more wiggle room to get things done. So we'll see what happens but I wouldn't put it past the Democrats to keep pushing this narrative and even think up some pretty crazy and diabolical things even if it means hurting people through
financial hardship or by shutting down their welfare benefits. Listen as part of the CR that's
not the conversation to have that issue comes up later in the year. Are you, would you be willing to vote on a CR moving forward with assurances that you would address the subsidies at some point? Because a number of Republicans say they agree with you that they're going to need to do that.
So what deal do you need right now to be a yes vote on a clean CR? Well, first of all, we don't view the current bill as anything other than a partisan Republican spending bill that continues to gut the health care of the American people.
It's at levels that you guys have already agreed to. A number of Democrats voted for this extension back in March. It's not adding or detracting anything. It's just continuing the levels of spending that currently exist.
Actually, it's not at levels that we agreed to. Democrats strongly oppose this legislation in the House because, in our view, it gut veterans' health care, gut funding for women, infants, and children programming, gut funding for affordable housing. And we know we have a housing crisis in this country.
Okay, just to be clear—
Housing costs are too high—
Just to be clear, though, it's not changing current— And it gut funding changing current levels. Nothing's getting cut. It's at levels that you may not like, but it's about extending levels as they currently exist. Fair?
Right. We agree that current spending levels are unacceptable, and it also incorporates massive cuts that have occurred over the last several months and cuts funding for local law enforcement grants to support police officers by $500 million. So, there's a variety of different challenges that we have with respect to this partisan
Republican spending bill, but the main one is that we're facing this health care crisis. Open enrollment starts on November 1st. Tens of millions of Americans are receiving notices right now that their premiums, copays and deductibles are about to explode, which is why we need to address it. Even Marjorie Taylor Greene agrees that we have to address this health insurance crisis right now.
OK, so let's talk about an analysis of these enhanced Obamacare subsidies and where we are, because you mentioned a number of figures there. They were passed, of course, under the Biden administration in 21, extended in 22. They were about being a temporary measure to help us through the COVID emergency. So here's what an analysis over at The Federalist says. Now, this is based on data from the Kaiser Family Foundation, which tracks all this health care stuff. They say if the enhanced subsidies go away, the federal government would still pay for the vast majority of premium costs. The federal government would fund quote
only 78 percent of the premiums as opposed to 88 percent of the total premium under the enhanced subsidies. So that means taxpayers will still be footing nearly 80 percent of the cost of the premiums. Should we be having a broader conversation about the fact that Obamacare was supposed to make everything more affordable and yet that is the U.S. taxpayer—you and me and everybody who goes to work out there—who is footing nearly 80 percent of the cost of these premiums, even if the subsidies expire.
More than 70 percent of the American people agree that we need to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits because they are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the American people. We do need to have a broader conversation about fixing our broken health care system, and we want to do that in a bipartisan way. It's unacceptable, in our view, that legislation was passed by Republicans earlier this year
that is actually triggering the closure of hospitals and nursing homes and community-based health centers throughout the country, disproportionately in rural America. We also need to talk about the fact that hundreds of thousands of veterans rely on the Affordable Care Act tax credits in order to ensure that they have access to a doctor when they need one for themselves, for their children, and for their families. We also need to lower the high cost of living.
I agree entirely. Costs are way too high. America is too expensive. Housing costs are too high. Grocers are way too high. America's too expensive. Housing costs are too high. Grocery costs are too high. Electricity bills are through the roof all across America. And now you've got people who are facing dramatically increased health care costs because
of the refusal of some of my friends on the other side of the aisle to even have a conversation.
Hakeem Jeffries is holding firm on his belief that the Democrats are on the right side of the subsidies. And now it sounds like he and Schumer will keep the government closed until they get what they want. Now, what do you think about all this? Do you think the Democrats are going to stick it out until October 18th, have the big riot
thing, try to pin it on Trump? Do you think that that's what I kind of like have a feeling that I think they're going to try to do that and they're going to see what happens and if it doesn't work then at that point I think they probably will you know open up the government because then at that point the people haven't rised up against Trump and now no kings that's been broken up entirely. So at this point I think maybe that's maybe their their big push, their big hurrah to try to get what they want is to like pin this on Trump and then be like listen it's all gonna stop if you give us what you know what we want. You know that kind of vile disgusting thing. But what do you think? Do you blame the Democrats or the Republicans? Let me know down in the comments do you think? Do you blame the Democrats or the Republicans? Let me know down in the comments below. I'm Griffin your host here at American Zone.
