FULL SCALE ALARM - THE MAGA THREAT TO CANADA GETS SERIOUS

Hey there Midas Canada viewers, Resisters from all over, Charlie Angus here.I want to share the interview I did with our sister network, Midas Touch and Ben Macilis, because we were talking about the need to frame the latest level of threat against Canada in a very, very clear way.Because Donald Trump threatening tariffs over climate fires seems ridiculous.It seems just more like the crazy blunder and bluff of the predator in the White House, but it's actually a much more dangerous situation.We are dealing in the age of predator politics and the fact that an unprecedented climate disaster is hitting North America and affecting the lives of millions.Donald Trump and MAGA are using this as an excuse to threaten Canada, to undermine us, and even to threaten to take us over.

And what we're seeing also is we've got to stop pretending this is just Donald Trump being crazy.There is a larger movement now of politicians across the United States who see Canada as their enemy, who see Canada as a reason to rally their base in hatred and to target us.And this is what's happening with the climate disaster that's unfolding right now.It also needs to be pointed out that in a time of climate breakdown, and that's what we're having here, predatory players are going to start getting more aggressive.And this is what we're seeing right now.So just in terms of the nature of the climate disaster, I think of their book Fire Weather by John Valiant, who wrote about the brutal Fort Mac fire and the new level of climate fires and the intensity and the danger that we're facing.

He said that no one living today will ever experience a summer as cool as 1996 again.We are now in a new epoch.the fire epoch.And that's the world that we're in and it's only going to get worse.It's only going to get worse as the United States pushes harder and harder for fossil fuels and Canada goes along pushing harder and harder for fossil fuels.We are destabilizing the planet and we are giving an excuse for political predators to destabilize our democracy and our sovereignty.

So what are we talking about?Well, Eric Nesbitt of Michigan Senator is basically threatening to take us over if we don't deal with our own problems.Senator Bernie Moreno is talking about seizing assets and targeting Canadian leaders for sanctions.When you target people for sanctions, that's what you normally do with narco -terrorists or Russian oligarchs.But no, mega -politicians are talking about sanctions against Canadian leaders.Just think about that for a moment.

Are they going to target Prime Minister Carney?Are they going to target him if he tries to travel internationally?Are they going to target the premiers?It all seems crazy, right?It all seems lunacy.But there's a pattern here.

They're now talking about, well, maybe we should close the Gordie Howe Bridge, keep it closed to punish Canada.They're using all the tools in their hate toolbox to rally their people.And as we watch the fires burn and people get sick, they're trying to make us their enemy.when we know that this past year over 40 ,000 wildfires broke out across the United States, that multiple fires are burning all across the U .S.The U .

S.fire services say that they have to be on top alert because of the fires in the United States.The New York Times reporting that the big fires in the northwest jumped the border from Minnesota.The fact that Canada helped kids in Minnesota get away from fires in Minnesota.The fact that we lost a firefighter from CanadaColorado.

Those are all important facts but facts don't matter when you have climate deniers like the MAGA regime and all of their politicians who are stoking people with hatred and and disinformation and excuses and blaming Canada and now threatening our border and our sovereignty, our leaders and our economy.This is why Ben Macilis and I felt it important to sit down and break down what's happening and to explain to people why we need to be really, really focused at this time and Canadians have to keep the elbows up.We have to be standing in resistance to the American threat.Going along with them, trying to be nice to them, trying to negotiate, trying to make concessions.It doesn't work.They hate us.

They're targeting us.And with the fires this summer, we see that they will use whatever excuse they can to come after us.So I want to share this interview with you and my friends.Stay strong.We're going to get through this.

Get a famous if there was a revolution.

Charlie, great to see you as always.Now, the Trump regime continues to use new tactics to try to implement their 51st state invasion of Canada.When something doesn't work, they use something else.I mean, even right now, thinking about how the Trump regime is using these horrific and tragic fires in Canada as also a tool to try to sanction Canada and attack Canada, you're seeing Trump and MAGA plot that way.You know, also when it comes to the Gordie Howe bridge also.you know, when it comes to secession, also when it comes to, you know, again, pulling out of the trade agreement.

I mean, it's it's it's a still a relentless barrage.And then, Charlie, it is the Trump regime playing victim.If Canada stands up for itself, then you'll hear the Trump people.Oh, my God.Can you believe it?They're doing this.

So they're Canada's boycotting this.So they don't want to show up.I mean, it's it's.What do you make of this moment?

Well, Ben, I think this is the real issue here is to recognize that this is constant, constant pressure where our sovereignty is always on the line.So, you know, there's been a lot of talk here about with the fact that Donald Trump basically ripped up the agreement that had been in place for over a dozen years to build that Gordie Howe Bridge, saying that America had been ripped off when Canada put the money up.There was an agreement with Michigan.There was an agreement with both governments going back for years.This was all about intimidation and the day after they got the agreement to get the bridge open, Donald Trump has a meme of Canada with the American flag on it.We have Elridge Colby, the guy who threatened the Pope.

warning us that you know if we try this middle power stuff it's gonna cost us well i think the cost was yeah we'll shut down the bridge will take you on so now the the fire catastrophe that's unfolding is In some ways, it's ridiculous, but I think it's also very, very, very dangerous right now.We have, you know, these mega politicians basically threatening our sovereignty that they're going to come over the border if we don't fix the climate catastrophe.Well, great.That's how things have always been done.We've always crossed the border to help each other.Right now, we're mourning the loss of Nicholas Dale, who died in Aspen, Colorado.

A Canadian firefighter was over at the border.side helping put out an American fire and died.Yet this is now going to be the latest tactic for threatening the sovereignty of our nation, and we've got to keep our eye on the ball and understand what they're up to all the time.

You know, you see Donald Trump continue to make the posts where he'll do AI images of himself and NATO leaders, where he'll show the flag, you know, show the American flag over Canada and Greenland.You know, it is relentless.And I think that one of the things, and you've studied authoritarians and, you know, Donald Trump in the same mold, you know, yes, it is psychotic and dangerous, but he doesn't stop.You know, he'll just come at you with a new tactic.He'll take you from there.You know, if you think about it, I mean, on Thursday, he was ranting and raving about the 2020 election.

And it's easy to say, look, He's psychotic.He's an idiot.He's deranged.He's a lunatic.But when you study authoritarians like you have your entire life, you know, you repeat the same thing over and over and over and over again.Sometimes the reaction from people is, all right, what do you want from me?

Fine.Just take this.And then they keep on taking and taking and taking.Speak to that moment of what you're seeing in Canada.

Well, what really worries me, Ben, is I think because this is dragging on and on, Certainly the average canadian is not bending this is why we're seeing the rage of claudia tenney the republican mega gal demanding that we do something to put the booze back on the shelf it doesn't matter what they do people are not gonna drink it so the boycott remains really strong.But we see Marco Rubio holding this forum that anybody who's not a fascist, if you're an anti -fascist, you're somehow tied with terrorism.And the strong army that went on to have Western alliesattend this, and I'm very concerned, Canada sent somebody.I figure Canada sent somebody because we just want to not always be fighting with them.But here's the thing, you don't go along with fascism.

What this Antifa summit is about, criminalizing dissent in the United States.That's what it is.It's about using the power of the state against the American people to crush dissent in the midterms.To do this on the international scale and expect Canadian officials to attend, to me, is very worrisome.It goes back to the crocodile metaphor of Winston Churchill, who said, you know, the collaborator is the person who figures if other people have been eaten by the crocodile, he'll be eaten last.It's this constant, constant pressure, this constant demanding that we go along to survive so that otherwise they're going to hit us harder.

That's my concern right now.And I think this thing with the wildfires is really concerning.At some levels, it's absolutely ridiculous.I mean, there's 45 ,000 wildfires happening in the United States right now.Donald Trump has trashed the clean energy regs, but you just need sometimes a symbol to get people angry.Certainly we see how they're using this against us and they're threatening our sovereignty over the fact that climate fire doesn't care what side of the border you're on.

And we can't just think, well, we'll explain to them climate science because they don't believe climate science and they don't care about climate science.

You know, whether it's the NATO summit, ASEAN, G7, wherever.I mean, we see Prime Minister Carney with his delegation inking deals.I mean, we're seeing, you know, the Bombardier Gripen, the Bombardier Saab, you know, the globalizedare being sold.And so, you know, there's a real emphasis.I mean, we've always known.

that when there have been major world wars and when it's fighting fascism, Canada's always not just stepped up, but really has been first to lead.And it's important that, you know, people throughout the world recognize that because it's part of what makes Canada so incredible.But no one thinks about Canada or no one thought about Canada in modern times as, you know, OK, well, Canada's got to arm up and build up its military.But I think what we're seeing is while Trump is escalating the war in Iran and Trump has, you know, this genocidal war crime agenda in the Middle East, he then uses that to go around the Western Hemisphere to make these threats, whether it's in Cuba, whether it's with extortive measures, working with the Bolsonaro's in Brazil, whether it is, you know, putting in his proxies in Colombia, etc.And you've been covering that a lot.Talk to us about both of those things, Charlie.

First, arming up military and then the overall Western Hemisphere dynamic you're seeing.

Well, certainly it's been very impressive how Prime Minister Carney, I mean, I disagree with many of the things happening on the home front because I am very, very concerned about the total picture.On the international stage, the role Canada is playing with NATO, with our allies, and this whole push to create a middle powers alternative.I think in Washington, they see this middle powers move as somehow an attempt to create a power block to oppose the United States.It's not.It's about creating an alternative so we're not being threatened constantly by the United States.I mean, Donald Trump says he doesn't want to have anything to do with NATO.

He doesn't want to have anything to do with Canada.So we say, fine, OK, we'll start negotiating with the Europeans.And then they say, hey, whoa.do you do when you belong under our umbrella?And I think the Gordie Howe bridge debacle was very much trying to teach us a lesson because right after you had again Colby come out and say this middle power stuff has got to stop it's gonna cost you if you pursue this it's gonna cost you in time and it's gonna cost you in money and so What did they do?They blocked the Gordie Howe Bridge.

So they see the real threat from Prime Minister Carney's Middle Powers Initiative.The issue for the Canadian people is to recognize, and we've talked about this, Ben, many times, they're coming for us because they can't have us standing up to them.They're going to give us only so much runway before we end up in a confrontation moment.So is it the confrontation going to be over whether we send somebody to their Antifa as terrorism conference?Or is it going to be because they demand that we stop the climate catastrophe that's unfolding, even though, heck, I'm just going to throw this in, the New York Times is reporting that the big fires in northwestern Ontario came over the border from Minnesota.But hey, that's okay, because people in northwestern Ontario and Minnesota are good friends, and we'd help each other out.

But what's it going to be for the next level of threat?And we can't lose sight of the fact that as authoritarians, they never ever shift.They don't become nice down the road.And you don't get to sit down with them and try and talk them down.I mean, that was always the mistake people thought with Hitler in the early 30s.They didn't think he was that serious.

They thought they could bedazzle them with their smarts.These guys are playing on a whole different level of menace.And that's something we can never lose sight of.

Charlie, we've been speaking with each other now for close to two years.As we always end these interviews, I ask you, we know that the Trump regimewatches these interviews.I mean, they've reached out to you before.So what's your overall message to Trump and his regime right now?

Well, Donald, you know, we're watching what's happening with Vladimir Putin and his war going down the tubes and you backed him 100%.We know that the road is running out for Benjamin Netanyahu, one of your fellow monsters in terms of the massive damage she's done and the road is running out for you towards the midterms for whatever comes next.You have never lost sight of your hatred of the Canadian people but the thing, the reason you hate us Donald is because we are democratic.Because we don't buckle and bend.And because, you know what, we're basically decent people.We don't go and hang out on Epstein Island.

We don't vote for sexual predators.We don't go along with the crooked oligarchs that you look up to and that you worship.So you are going to threaten us.Is it going to be on the Gordie Howe Bridge?Is it going to be on the evacuations and fire zones that are happening?Hey, because you and your government And your oligarch friends thought that getting rid of all of the renewable strategies to lower emissions was going to somehow save you, save your ass.

It ain't going to happen, Donald.So we know what's coming.We know that the threat remains.And the idea that we're ever going to buy your booze again, you should go to Kentucky and explain why you continue to fight with us.And you should explain to the American people why you continue to betray them, because it's coming for you, Donald.Your days are running out and we will be there.

It's a really sick and twisted perspective on everything.I mean, their view is if we abuse people more, if we harm people more, they will want to do deals with us.And, you know, Trump may see that.That's their view on everything and just abuse people and then they'll then they'll fall in line.

Yeah, it's it'sThey're shocked that because they abuse us, we're not kissing up to them and it's not going to happen.So we just got to keep holding our ground here.But pay attention to the level of crazy that they're trying to stir against us.
