That win for Croatia means that Scotland cannot qualify.And we've just heard that Steve Clarke has stepped down as the head coach of Scotland after their failure to reach the knockout stages.I mean, he had a deal through, I think, for the next four years.What do you think about it?

Yeah, I'm disappointed to hear that.Listen, it's been a tough few weeks for him.He's done a brilliant job with them.But he didn't seem happy in himself, particularly dealing with the media, some obviously tough results.Disappointed to see that.We shouldn't forget what a brilliant job he'd done for Scotland.

He did so well to get Scotland two championships, but when they were there, it was the same for the two Euros.

I know, but that's a horror group, by the way, he had.Morocco and Brazil.He had the worst group of the lot.Seriously, I mean, if England, playing like they're playing now, had Morocco and Brazil in their group, they'd be in trouble, let alone Scotland, who haven't got the resources of England.So, look, it was painful.I think they should have had a penalty against Morocco in the last few minutes, and all of a sudden we're talking about a completely different game.

But I think Roy's right, he didn't look like he was enjoying it.And talking to the media, whether you like it or not, is part of the job.because you're the conduit there.

Look, Mark, I think my view is if you give a manager a contract before a tournament, no matter what happens, if you sort of don't get out of the group in that tournament, you're going to be in trouble.I think the USA have tried to do it, Mauricio Pochettino, obviously England have done it with Thomas Tuchel.If Thomas Tuchel fails in the last 32, there'll be pressure on him.That's the way it goes at international level and in football in general.

I think what's important is that they get a manager that can try and galvanise them.You know, not only just the players, the fans and everything what they've got, but there's a lot of work.

Honestly, I take no pleasure whatsoever, because I want Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales.When Wales have Bale and when they have Ramsey, they've got a real chance.When Republic of Ireland have Roy Keane and they have Robbie Keane and they have Damien Duff, they've got a great chance.You know, when Scotland have Dalgleish and Soonies, they've got a great chance.So what I'm saying to you is that they haven't got those types of players right now, these countries.And that's why they're not qualifying for tournaments.

And when they do qualify for tournaments, they're struggling sometimes.

What's happened?The only thing you would say about Scotland where we've been probably critical is you are sitting at them and obviously the fans have been great for them and have a bit more of a goal.I think that's another bit you're looking at.

Yeah, they lack quality but The next person to come in should qualify for the Euros.Why should they qualify for the Euros?Because it's so expanded that it's quite hard not to.Scotland didn't need the expansion to qualify for the World Cup.Exactly.So once you get there...
