A double injury blow for Man United.Sesco and Shaw could be out of the Liverpool game.We'll talk about that.Also, do we want West Ham to go down?Fernandes and Diop could be available for as little as £60 million.Now, what would we get from Spurs?

Is West Ham going down actually beneficial for Manchester United?A Liverpool injury blow as well.Isaac out tomorrow.How much easier does that make the job for us in the big game tomorrow where we can beat Liverpool twice in the same season for the first time in 10 years?Champions League music.Get it playing.

Some people say you can't do it officially.I say you can.We'll talk about that as well.And a few other bits.I mean, look, I was asked a really good question today on That's Football.

Who would you say would be the dark horse to win the Premier League next season if it's not Man City and Arsenal?I think people expected me to say Man United.I don't think Man United.I don't.

We'll delve that.We'll get your thoughts on it as well, of course.But look, let's start off with a little bit of breaking news.Apparently, Luke Shaw and Cesco have failed to train yesterday, so they are a doubt for the game tomorrow.I'm not that bothered, actually.I'm not that bothered.

We're playing Liverpool and effectively they've got no Salah, no Ekotike, they've got no Isak now.I mean, I genuinely think we're going to win tomorrow anyway.I genuinely think we'll put a good performance in.And I genuinely don't care if Sesko and Shaw are injured, because we've got plenty of players that can do the job.Like, you could put Masraoui at left back, you can play Deleu at right back, we could put Mbwema at front and play Ahmad on the right.So look, hopefully they're not injured, but it's not that deep, you know, it's not.

not we're in a we're in a good position in the league we are basically going to be in the champions league of course it's preferable to finish third and fourth and all that but realistically um luke shaw's been quite shit for weeks if i'm in my opinion so i don't think he's a miss i like sesco to be fit because I think the more games he plays, the better he gets.But if they've got a knock, we've done all right without Cunha for a couple of weeks.And, you know, they'll be back for the next game.So these things can happen.Dawgoo's back as well, as is JMR.So look, if they're not quite right, don't use them.

You know, I think Luke Shaw went off against in the last game anyway, didn't he, against Brentford.So if he's not quite right, don't use him.And if Cesco is not quite right, don't use him.The worst thing you want to do is aggravate a minor knock and turn it into a two month layout and then they miss the start of the season.So we've got Champions League football.And if you don't know, by the way, we have got Champions League football because because Stone Cold said so.

No, we have got we have got Champions League football.The reason people are saying it's not technically true is because if you look at it, Brighton Brentford have only got three games left and we've got 61 points so they can only get to60. Brighton have only got three games left and they can only get to59. Chelsea have got four games left and they can only get to60. So the only team that can catch us is Bournemouth with four games left they could get to 61 but we'd have to lose all our games and Bournemouth would have to win all their games and overturn our goal difference.So technically, we're not confirmed in the Champions League yet, but I never took any notice of Bournemouth anyway, because it was always about whether somebody could go past us and nobody can anymore.

So Champions League for Man United.And I think you know what?Hopefully the only people that matter are the Jason Wilcox's and the Omar Barada's and the Sir Jim Radcliffe's.And if they're not sat there tonight planning on transfers and the manager for Champions League football, and they're still sat there going, well, it's not technically possible.You're wasting 24 hours.Just get on with it.

Get on with it.But look, it's good, isn't it?And it'll be even better tomorrow night when we're six points clear of Liverpool and firmly third best team in the league, which is what what will be a fact.So look, that's that will do me.That will definitely do me.But look, you know, you still look up and you go 15 points off Arsenal and probably going to be 15 points off City very soon when they win their games in a hand.

So look, yeah, we're best of the rest.But how good?I mean, look, a Liverpool fan said to me today, it's the worst season we've had in 10 years and we're still only three points behind United.So I suppose that's quite a humbling thing to say in a sense.But look, where I wanted to start on the show tonight, because, you know, we'll go back and forth a little bit.I was watching a lot of the football today, and obviously there's been a lot of chat about transfers.

And obviously Man United are going to be a club that is dictated to by, you know, the Glazers and Ineos.They're not big spenders.They don't want to spend money.They will spend money, but they don't want to.And I saw West Ham get beat by Brentford today and I thought, you know what, I don't really want West Ham to go down.I'd rather see Spurs go down because, and I don't know why, I don't know why, I think it's more a warning.

I'd like to see a big club go down to make people like the Glazers realise that if you mismanage a football club, you can fuck it up.And they have fucked it up, but I mean, you can get relegated.I think there's this invincibility cloak that the top six wear, that no matter how bad things get, you won't get relegated.And although Spurs would be the fall guy, I think it would be a shot across the bows to Manchester United's owners that, you know, you can relegate us.It is possible.

You know, we're not invincible.

So I sort of was of the opinion that Spurs needed to go down.to sort of send a message.But then I was thinking, well, we're not going to get anyone from Spurs.I don't want van der Been.We won't get Bergweld.We won't get Vuskovic.

There's not really anyone from Spurs that I massively want.

But at West Ham, I quite like Diop and Fernandes.And I was sort of like going, well, we probably won't get them if they stay up.But if they go down, why would we not be at the front of the queue for those players?So, Do we want West Ham to go down?

I'm not here to pick on West Ham fans and maybe we wouldn't buy both of them, but I certainly think that Fernandes is a very interesting player at West Ham.Very interesting player.

And Diouf is a left back as well.So, you know, do we want West Ham to go down?Do we think that those two players are suitable for what we need to improve our squad in the summer?

Look, I don't mind Diop.He did give a penalty up today.I don't mind Diop, but I do like Fernandes.I do think he's an interesting player.I really do.

Yeah, look, I'm looking forward to this weekend.I think Liverpool tomorrow will be a very interesting game.I expect us to win.

I think the crowd will be up for it.I don't think Liverpool are a good team.I don't think they're good enough to beat us.I don't think they've got many goals in them now.And with Isak injured, and Ekotike injured, and Salah injured, I don't even know what their front three will be.

Gakpo, Rio, and I don't know.I genuinely don't know.I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know what even Liverpool's approach will be tomorrow because I don't know where they're going to get goals from.So will they?I don't know.I could see someone in the chat just said they're 3 -0 Man United.

But look, we could, I mean, look, just just going back to just going back to this for a minute.I mean, I know, I know we just take care of our own business.But when you look at Liverpool, right, they're our biggest rival.They'd never do us any favours.And really, I just need to check this.

I'm just seeing if we can get them out of the top five.Operation get them out the top five now we're in it.So obviously they've got us.

If we win, they're on 58, then they've got Chelsea, then they've got Villa, then they've got Brentford.I mean, look, it's a stretch.But with the injuries they've got, could Liverpool lose three or four of their last four?

And if they did, 58 points, I mean, it's still They've probably still got enough buffer, haven't they?I think Villa and Liverpool are fine.I can't see anybody catching them.But having said that, if Chelsea win on Monday against Forest and then they beat Liverpool and Liverpool stay still, they're probably all right, aren't they?They're probably all right, to be fair.They've probably done enough already.

But I was thinking, could we, you know, batter them and really set them up for a bad finish to the season?But look, let's go send a message.You know, let's Let's kick them when they're down.They'd certainly do it to us.

Man United are a better team under Karrick, says Vidyas.I mean, do you want to go there?Do you want to go there on a Saturday night?Do we want to go there?Do we really want to go there?I mean, I'm happy to go there.

We're still playing a deep line.We're still massively underwhelming in the attack around Mbuemo and Kunya and Ahmad.We're a part of the bus counterattacking Gareth Southgate team, in my opinion.And I think it's a massive mistake to back this coaching network next season in such an important season.So win tomorrow or not, I won't change my mind about that.Unless we go and win four or five nil and play really, really good football, I'm not going to change my mind on it.

And you know what?I don't really care if anybody else does change their mind.It's your opinion.You're entitled to it.And I'm entitled to mine.Nothing has changed.

Just because we qualified for the Champions League, nothing has changed from the fact that I thought we were crap against West Ham, crap against Everton, crap against Newcastle, crap against Leeds, lucky against Villa.You know, this has been going on for weeks.It's not hate, plug.It's not hate.It's an opinion.And I'm entitled to the opinion.

And I would never hate Michael Carrick, because if you've watched the channel for a long time, he's one of the players that I speak about the most from the past about being massively underrated.So I would never hate on Michael Carrick.I wouldn't hate on anybody anyway, but I would never hate on Michael Carrick.It's about what I think is best for Manchester United.And I don't think this is the right choice to make.I don't.

I really don't.And that's fine.

That's absolutely fine.It's funny, I was watching the Newcastle -Brighton game today, and in the first few minutes, Beleba hit the bar.Now, Beleba has been shit all season, but played well against Chelsea and hit the bar in the first few minutes against Newcastle.And people in the chat were going, we've got to get Baleba.Baleba's really good.And, you know, I was laughing in my head.

I'm laughing because I'm like, so 95 % of the games this season, he's been absolutely shit, but he hits the bar against Newcastle and has a good game against Chelsea.And now he's going to solve Man United's problems.And this is the problem.

Some people are ridiculously shallow in their opinion.They'll flip like a light switch.Half an hour.One good shot, they're good enough for Man United.We are the most inconsistent I've ever known Man United.We are so inconsistent over the last few years.

And the reason we're inconsistent is because we recruit inconsistent people.And if we want to be the best, you've got to recruit the best.You've got to recruit players that do it week in, week out.

And Bilebo played shit today for Brighton.Brighton weren't very good and he didn't play very well.But he hit the bar in the first few minutes, so let's buy him.

Always back your opinions with with your values and what you think's important.Don't be led by other people.Make your own mind up on what you think is best.And look, I can flick a switch.I think Michael Carrick should get the job.The results since Christmas have been fantastic.

Football is a results business, and he keeps winning games.He's earned the right to get the job.And yes, he's inexperienced, but you know what?Just because he worked with Oli for three years, playing this brand of football, doesn't mean that he's you know, it won't work out this time.I think Carrick deserves the job.Can I flick the switch back to, I'm not lying anymore.

Right, back to truth.I don't think he should get the job.I think it's too big a risk.I think we should be recruiting best in class.And I don't think I've seen anything so far that makes me think this is going to get better.

In fact, I think it's getting gradually worse.I think it's getting worse.I actually think it's getting worse.I think Arsenal and Man City were good.Spurs was okay.

Fulham was okay.But since then, it's been getting gradually worse with less intensity and poorer performances.

Am I banned from Old Trafford?No.Jeremy?No.I was banned from Goodison Park, but you don't get banned from Old Trafford for having a fucking opinion, mate.Absolutely not.

You know, I didn't expect us to be doing this, but it's a Saturday night show.Whatever you want to talk about, we'll do it.You know what it is, right?This happened on the Arsenal game today.I was arguing, well I wasn't arguing.An Arsenal fan said, sit down haters, everyone having a go at us, we're winning 3 -0.

And I said, but just because you're playing well and winning 3 -0, doesn't mean everybody who's criticised you for eight months for playing part of the bus football is wrong.

I applaud the way Arsenal played today.

They used Jocarez in the right way.But two weeks ago, he's benching Jokerez for Havertz for something he's done for the last two years.Football is about results to some people, but that's just a certain opinion.I believe that football is an entertainment business.

We pay a lot of money.We give up a lot of time to support Manchester United.And the reason we have happy memories and love Man United is because most of our happy memories are entertaining.

When Solskjaer won it in 99, or Giggs scored the goal in the semi -final, or Roy Keane scored the goal in the semi -final of the Champions League, we don't go, yeah, but we

parked the bus and scored from a corner.We go, we were absolutely brilliant.We were so entertaining.Barcelona in the group stage in 99.York and Cole.Like, everything I remember positively about Man United is because we played good football.

This is not going to meet my bank manager.This is not popping down the shops to buy milk.I expect them things to be quite mundane.But football is entertainment.And entertainment is what I want.If you are so, if you're happy with, I don't care if it's shit as long as we win, fine, fine.

You do that.But life's short.And I don't see Bayern Munich putting up with that.I don't see PSG putting up with that.I don't see Real Madrid putting up with that.

I don't see Barcelona putting up with that.I don't see Liverpool putting up with that.So why is Man United going to put up with shit, boring football, chasing results?I think we are Manchester United.I think we have a rich tapestry.And I think, unfortunately, we have people in charge who shouldn't be anywhere near it.

Because what you need in charge of Man United is what Real Madrid have got, and what Barcelona have got, and what Bayern Munich have got.People who understand those clubs and say, yes, it's about winning, but it's also about winning in the traditions of what this football club stands for.And we completely lost that.We've lost that so much that people have forgotten it.

And we've lost it so much that some people who I like and respect will say, well, it's just about results at the end of the day.

What are you moaning about performance and vision?It's just about results.And I go, it's really sad.It's really sad that you're a Man United fan and you've lost your way.And hopefully one day you'll find your way back.because you've been manipulated by this ownership.

Because there are big football clubs out there in the world who are not just about results.They're about winning in the traditions of their football club.And they chase that.And they don't want to just win 1 -0 every week.They want to win in the right way.And, you know, playing good football and winning goes hand in hand.

Playing good football Winning and grinding it out is very difficult.You know, Mourinho burns himself out doing that.Oli ran out of time doing that.You've got to win in the right way at Man United, is my opinion.And that's what I'm chasing.So look, I respect the results.

I absolutely do.But PRV means something to me.Performance, results, vision.I want all three.And if I was in charge of Man United, that would be on my wall.And I would tell my staff and I would tell my players and I would tell my CEO, PRV, I want performance, results and vision.

That's what this club's all about.I want to win and I want to win it in the Man United way.I don't want to bore people.I want people to come to the Theatre of Dreams to dream.I want that atmosphere to be...I mean, look, I was listening to the Arsenal game today and the crowd, unbelievable, because they're being entertained.

So that's what I'm chasing here.There is no agenda, certainly no hate.I'd sit and tell Michael Carrick and Steve Holland it right now.If you can deliver me P, performance, R, results, and V, vision, you can have the job.Inexperienced or not, you can have it.But if you're just going to grind out results, this is only going to end in one way.

There was nothing wrong with Mourinho's reign.We never should have bloody sacked him.It was just stupidity.Absolute stupidity.So don't rewrite history.Mourinho's reign at Man United was very, very good.

Very, very good.Don't ever put Mourinho in the category of Van Gaal or Oli.It was a good reign.It was the best reign we've had since Sir Alex.And we stabbed him in the back as a football club and a fan base, if we're being honest.

And we all regret it, or a lot of us do.We never should have sacked Jose.He wasn't actually doing anything that couldn't be turned around.He just needed the support from the players and the board, and they didn't give it him.And that was the beginning of player power.I'd go back to Jose any day of the week as not necessarily him, but that model, best in class, experienced manager, defined style of play, who has experience of managing in the Champions League and a domestic league.

That's the sort of manager we should be going for.Absolutely.As for comparing Carrick to Arteta, I mean, you're having a laugh.Seriously, you're having a laugh.Michel Arteta, who spent years sat next to Pep Guardiola.and has been at Arsenal for however many years and has had them finishing second in the league.

And I mean, look, if you think if you think Carrick's going to be the next Arteta, I will write that down and remember that.I don't see any indication of that at all.I hope you're right.I hope you're right on that one, actually.I really do.I would like to beat Liverpool like they did as a few years ago.

Look, you know what?When I look at the game tomorrow, it's very hard to go and predict you're going to win 6 -0 or anything like that.

Of course it is.But there is an opportunity there.There is an opportunity there because they're a wounded team with no goals at a 75 ,000 capacity cauldron where we're hungry.And, you know, Bruno wants his assist record.The fans want to beat Liverpool twice in a season for the first time in 10 years.I don't think Liverpool want this game tomorrow.

I really don't think they want this.I think they look at the league table, they look at the season and they go, well, it's there.Liverpool know they're in the Champions League.They've basically done it.This game tomorrow is a hindrance.There's probably some of them thinking about the World Cup.

They don't want this tomorrow.If I'm in the dressing room and I'm Carrick, I'm saying they don't want this.And not in the sense that they're not going to try, but they don't want this game.You know, they want the season over.They're going to get in the top five.They're going to lick the wounds.

They're going to rebuild over the summer.They don't want this game at Old Trafford tomorrow.We've got to want it.We can send a message.You know, we can move six points clear into third place.We can send a message about the football we want to play.

You know, we can shut Goldbridge up about, you know, we park the bus or whatever, you know, and all those fans.And we can beat Liverpool home in a round of 16.time in 10 years, our biggest rival.And on top of that, remember what they did to us at Anfield.Remember that 7 -0 or whatever it was.Let's see how we're going.

But, you know, this is our...I genuinely think you can't predict 5 -0.You can't predict 7 -0.It's arrogant.Of course it is.But I do think it's an opportunity tomorrow to really, you know, send a statement.

And look, you know what?Going back to what was said there about Carrick being the next Arteta, I mean, I'd be fucking happy if he was.I know they haven't won the league, but we've been nowhere near winning the league.If he can challenge for the league four years in a row and finish second and take us to two Champions League semifinals, I know it's not silverware, but I'd swap four years finishing second and two Champions League semifinals for a Carabao Cup and an FA Cup.You know, I know trophies are important, but in the modern day, second place in the Premier League for four years and two semifinals in the Champions League, I'll take that over a Carabao Cup and FA Cup.So look, if Michael wants the job and he wants to do it and he wants to go and do that, you know, games like tomorrow help your cause.

They do.And I think he can do it.And look, and you know, maybe maybe in the match reaction tomorrow night, I'll be saying, look, I've seen something.

I've seen something there.I think it, you know, I think he can do it.I still think it's a mistake, but you know, maybe, maybe it can work.

And I would have thought we would have beaten Leeds, lost to Chelsea and beat Brentford.So I think, you know, I think we'd be OK. I'm very, very glad.I'm very, very glad that we haven't given Carey the job like we did Ollie in March.And I'm very, very, you know what, I can't believe I'm about to say this because I very rarely do it.But you know, this is why I don't run agendas.I just run opinion.

I'm very impressed with the football boardat Manchester United.I can't believe I just said those words.I'm very impressed that they're adamant that they're not going to appoint the manager until the end of the season and they are going to interview other candidates because I think that's the right thing to do.I really, really do.I think giving the job to Carrick before the end of the season without interviewing anybody else puts more pressure on him in the long run and puts more pressure on the board.

If I was Omar Barrada, I would be saying to Jason Wilcox and to Jim Radcliffe, Even if we're giving Carrick the job, we must wait till the end of the season and we must interview other people.Because if we interview other people and we give it to Carrick, then at least we did run a process.Whereas if we don't interview other people and we give it to Carrick and it goes wrong, people will go, what a bunch of idiots.They didn't even run a process.So look, Peter says so.They say, I don't think the process is, I think it's fake.

I don't think it's true.I don't think there is a process.I think it's pantomime.But at least it's a pantomime.At least they're pretending to do it.I don't genuinely think they are going to run a process.

I think Michael Carrick's getting the job, 100%.But at least they're trying to run a process because I think that just helps everybody out.

GGMU says, I want Spurs to go down.It means one less game for the Big Six.How does that work then?Because it's one less game for Man City as well.It's one less game for Liverpool.I mean, I think we're very different, GGMU.

I would rather play games like tomorrow every week than play Wolves and Burnley.I hate them games.I hate them because, well I don't hate them because I don't hate anything, but what I mean is..like them.When you play Burnley or Wolves or, you know, next season Ipswich, you're expected to take six points.

And if you win, you're like, well, it's only Ipswich.But if you lose, it's embarrassing.Whereas when you play Liverpool or Arsenal, you don't know whether you're expected to win or not.And they're the best.So you learn about what you are.You know, there's nothing worse than a stat padder scoring a hat -trick against Ipswich.

Oh, we've got the best striker in the world and then they play against Liverpool and Arsenal and they're shit.I don't want a Super League.

That's not me saying I want a Super League.What I'm saying is I've always loved playing Liverpool and Arsenal and Man City and Chelsea and Bayern Munich and AC Milan.I've always loved those games because they're the big games.That's where you test yourself.When you're playing Wrexham and bloody Grimsby and all that lot, all that can happen is embarrassment, really.

You know, but look, it's part of a league season, isn't it?Would you take Poirot as right back from Spurs?

Look, my summer transfer window is this.I don't think we'll buy any more than five players, right?So if I could spend 300 million pounds this summer for Manchester United, this is what I would spend my money on.I would buy Tonali.I would buy Stiller.I would buy Scott, and that would be my three midfielders.

I've got this absolutely down now.Left back, I would buy Truffet, and I would also buy a backup striker of probably somebody like Harry Kane.I wouldbuy, I don't know, I don't actually, I don't know who that striker would be.It is difficult.That's the only one I struggle with, because I don't know who you'd bring in as a backup striker, but I actually don't, but that would be my five positions.

Interestingly, I've just bought two Bournemouth players, so I should probably give the job to Areola, shouldn't I?Areola.

What about Mateta?I mean, yeah, Mateta, Thiago, yeah, maybe someone like that.Yeah, maybe.MMA Lover says, I think United need a multitude of players, not just two or three.

If you want to get top four next year, Tonali should be the number one target, but also gems from abroad, like Mascara to Arsenal for 30 million.I mean, I was massively, massively awake to what Arsenal did tonight.And, you know, when I mean awake, I think a lot of people don't like Arsenal, and a lot of people would take the piss out of Arsenal.But, Where I will applaud Arsenal and criticise Arsenal is in this very narrow area, right?For the last four years, they've finished second in the Premier League to very strong teams.Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and Pep's Man City.

In the last two years, they've been to Champions League semi -finals whilst also finishing second or maybe even first this season.Something somewhere in that club is right.To do that over the last four years, second in the league, and two semifinals in the last two years of the Champions League.That is incredible, right?Obviously, give Arteta some credit, but also give credit to the club and the way that they've built that.Now, I'm looking at Arsenal today.

Arteta has been playing pragmatic football.They scored six goals in seven games in April and never scored more than one goal in any game.They go and win 3 -0 tonight.That's because Arteta said, go and play football.Go and play attacking football.So Arteta has to take responsibility for his pragmatism.

But when they want to play football, they're a bloody good team.I just think he's become pragmatic.But that's not my point.My point is, you look at Arsenal, right?And considering Timbers injured, and Havertz is injured, and Odegaard was injured, and off the top of my head, maybe some other players were injured, their bench was incredible.on top of a good first team.

They have the best squad in the Premier League, without a doubt.And in the summer, because of the money they're going to make from the Champions League and the Premier League, and because they'll be guaranteed to make it again next year and the year after that, they're going to go and spend.And I don't know what they're going to spend on.They've got an incredible squad and they're going to go and spend again.They might get Alvarez and Tonali.

They might get another player as well.I don't know.But like Arsenal are Look, the football was boring at times.It wasn't today.But what they've built around that manager is incredible.

So even if you want Carrick and his pragmatic football, look at Arsenal.You've got to build it all around him as well.Whoever the manager is, I could see it today watching Arsenal.I was like, whether he wins the league or not, whether he's the right guy or not, second, second, second, two Champions League semifinals.How has that happened?Well, the coach has to take a lot of credit, but the squad is incredible.
