So many parents say, your friends aren't everything, but they're wrong. See, I've been here for four months and I was getting to a point where I was giving up on making new friends in LA and it made me feel so alone. It actually made me feel like I made a big mistake leaving Australia and I just felt so lost. So the minute I met this girl who said she'd just moved to LA, I was telling her about how Deja is making friends so easily and she was invited to her first HOKO event tonight. HOKO is short for homecoming, which is basically like a semi-formal in Australia. Anyways, while Deja was getting ready for that, we went to Manhattan Beach
and I'm slowly learning that each suburb has its own personality. Like in LA, there's just people, and Manhattan Beach is a little quieter. Kind of like me and Deja. Deja is having the time of her life, she's got so many friends and got so many events, meanwhile I'm taking a little longer to fit in. And I guess it just takes some people a little longer to find friends, but I will tell you the second I did, it just started to feel more like home. the second I did, it just started to feel more like home.
