Gunshots interrupt BBC interview with MP in English Channel. #BBCNews

Anyone who did cross the channel and arrive at Dover could be immediately deported within around about a week.

Strange moment in the channel just a few minutes ago when we're interviewing the Shadow Home Secretary right out here in the middle of the channel.when a French patrol ship went around 300 meters from our boat and unloaded around 17 shots in close proximity.It's not yet clear whether it was a training exercise or what exactly was trying to be achieved.We're still trying to establish exactly what was going on with that French patrol vessel.
