Guy Wears (legal) Body Armor in Public, Gets Arrested, Held for 3.5 Hours

So basically I'm wearing this for my protection because when I go out in public there's people always trying to f*** with me, especially here in East Steward. Okay. So what am I doing wrong?

This guy got arrested at a Christmas parade in Florida for wearing a body armor vest concealed under his shirt. The problem is that was not illegal. I saw this in the news with the cops taking a victory lap and Karens rejoicing about it.

I'm still horrified about what happened.

Sounds like he was up to no good.

Why you need that type of protection and why you didn't come out if you were that afraid. So I put in a request for the footage and I just got it. And it's even worse than I thought it would be.

He's being detained. He's being disarmed. They're looking at his pistol. They're checking out his body armor and they're asking him questions. He doesn't appear to be acting in any sort of a threatening way. He appears to be 100% polite and cooperative with these officers.

And yet they are holding him and they are giving him no information.

We're gonna take our time, we gotta do a little bit of research and stuff like that, so we're just gonna be chilling right here for a minute. How did we get to this point? Because I kind of walked in after them.

This guy thought I was following him up the parade, but I was just trying to get the store notice so we could see my family.

Gotcha. Matthew explains that he was not up to anything nefarious, that he was just at the parade looking for his daughter. His daughter was there watching the parade and he was supposed to meet up with her. He couldn't find her. He was looking for her. That's why he was walking around.

And he also explains that the reason that he was wearing the vest was because there had been some sort of threat on his life or threats on his life. And he even said he had proof of it and was willing to show it to these cops.

I mean that's like not normal for like you know like they're banging on my door and no

nice and they're gonna kill me. Yeah I know well like why? I don't understand. I have no idea.

I don't even know who it is.

So they verify with hours of interrogation from a polite and cooperative suspect and numerous corroborating witnesses that Matthew Beagle had committed no crime whatsoever. They were going to have to let him go and release him to his family. So that's what they do. And three and a half hours after initially detaining and handcuffing Matthew, they release him to leave with his parents.

There were no subsequent charges, yet the officers kept Matthew's gun in his vest as evidence. Evidence of what? No crime had occurred or even was alleged. When I say freedom is scary, lawful conduct does not become illegal just because police officers or Karens are

afraid of something. afraid of something. My rights don't end where your fear of some perfectly legal object begins.
