Welcome back, Choms.It's nice to see you.I'll tell you one thing I did notice on that spectacular Wales' day out up at the wonderful Commonwealth Games in Scotland.Did you notice?Well, as ever, they look fabulous, in my opinion.And, you know, they look such a well -grounded family.

What I liked, actually, was Prince Louis' adoration of look.We can't use the pictures, sadly, because obviously they're licensed.But there was a wonderful picture where Louis is looking up at his elder brother, Prince George, and that really tells you a terrific bond.

obsessed with Prince William when he of course was around about that same age, posters on the wall, that sort of stuff.You know when Harry famously said that George was his sort of problem he meant it nicely but it's true George will be the problem he's a good -looking fella and only going to get better looking naturally as he gets older and this is a real sort of I think this is going to be a big smack in the teeth for Harry because he was used to sort of being the good -looking if you like you know this is what he thought the good -looking younger brother who you know could command all the girls all of this sort of stuff and you know I have to say both brothers are very photogenic at points I mean you know you have to look there are some terrific pictures of Harry and at points he does look like if you remember the Duke of Edinburgh.I mean there's just similarities are there you know you kind of think the genetics clearly don't fall far but as I say George is going to be a problem and this is going to be interesting.

Now, listen, if you were around, and I mean this nicely, in 1953, this struck me as being quite strange, wouldn't you think?Because way back on this particular timeline in 1953, the year of the coronation, of course, Queen Elizabeth, well, rationing for sweets finally came off.It actually had come off, I think, in around about 1949.But there was so much of an influx, they had to put the rationing back on, typical Brit say.The thing is, I wanted to know, if there was a sweet ration now, which would you now truly miss more than anything?I've got to be honest with you.

I think it's not going to be sweets for me. I think it might be biscuits.But even then, I mean, there's not many you like, is there?Is there something maybe even in the previous point that you thought, yeah, if they stop those, I think the original wine gum boxes, do you remember round trees when they actually tasted of fruits and lemons and blackcurrants and stuff?

They were nice.And of course, round trees, fruit, pastels, all made in York, of course, Yorkshire, naturally.Good brand, absolutely.

But was there something or were you around in the rationing that you actually got something for the first time after many years and thought, wow, this is terrific?Can't believe it.Yeah, I'd love to know.It's always lovely to look in history and think, what did people do when it finally happened?You know what I'm saying, chums?Now, let's get back, of course, to your story of the day.

This story was supposed to be the big thing of the year, you know.And as I told you at the time when Harry and Meghan finally decided to condescend to go and visit His Majesty the King at his private home in Highgrove.Very clever move off palace grounds so that really it is truly a private event.Well, where this was interesting again, simply is this, because obviously Markle, as I told you, thought this was going to be the big event, the big relaunch.And sadly for her, even though this particular meeting was told to the press from the palace that it was a private event,On that same day we had the horrific murder of the British former Conservative Party minister Anne Whittacombe and that just literally took over the world's media, you know.

I mean that is, you know, the way it goes, isn't it?Rolling news.

So of course this wasn't the biggest story that they had and consequently sort of worked in their favour because no picture, no backup, just a simple message.Where this gets really interesting though, and this is, you know, again you just find things out as the story goes around, is the fact that when Harry and Meghan did decide they really believed that no doubt at least William if nobody else, would finally want to come up and support his father.That's really what Harry believed behind the scenes.You know, he thought, well, you know, maybe he'll just be there simply to be a backup to the king.And of course, Harry, as you know, had no intention of facing the woman who he described as dangerous in his book and on television, Camilla.But of course, Camilla's standing by her man, as I told you.

And this is where this is interesting, because Harry could not comprehend that William simply want to know.Now according to my excellent source this is where it got really interesting because Harry pointed out, well did you point out to him or did you tell him, you know whatever phraseology he used, that I was bringing my children And apparently it was conveyed back to him.Yes.And Harry just could not comprehend that William would not want to meet either of his children, even though Harry was apparently ready to step out at that moment and just let the children meet.Now, when you think about it, I'm not quite sure exactly what Harry was hoping to attain from that particular meeting.Perhaps, you know, the children could say we've met him or that sort of stuff.

Maybe there was something convoluted in that.But it took a long time out of the 47 minutes for this to comprehend through.Then Harry found out that William was in fact doing a very public engagement and could have, you know, basically fitted it in by flying back and flying back into Highgrove.And according to that source, you know, they literally left bewildered because according to the source, Harry felt that the bringing of the children was the icing on the cake.The one thing, you know, that everybody thought, well, this is it.And as I've told you before, both Harry and Meghan are desperate to try and get some connection through to the next generation.

What's also interesting regarding this is how they now plan to do it next, because, as I said, You know, Harry is hopeful, even in September, of some kind of, you know, meeting again.And we're not quite sure.

And I think this will be remiss if he didn't, you know, considering that, say, George is now attending events on a more regular basis, like Wimbledon and the Games.Well, why can't you bring Archie to the World Child Awards?

But of course, Markle is still fizzing over the fact that this was not the big recall, the big reset that she originally thought.Is she truly going to let Archie out of her sights with just Harry being in charge?given the mess that, of course, it has made recently with things like the Daily Mail court case.But for Harry, this truly was a defining moment.He kept saying, so he just didn't want to meet them?No, came the answer.
