Hermitcraft 11: Episode 15 - MAKING MUSIC WITH MUMBO!

Welcome back to the next episode of Hoimycraft. I have been one very busy boy. As a group, most of us went over to the Microsoft Studios recently to do a big old charity event. We had lots of segments such as Hermitmaster and Silly Games. All of the stuff that I was involved in is either on the second channel

or Hermitmaster, which is my personal favourite, is on this channel. So go and check it out if you missed it, because it's very funny, and Bdubs stole the show. In fact, he probably stole the entire thing. Ow. He stole the entire thing, to be honest. It wasn't, what was your favourite moment from the charity event? But now, I'm back in Old Blighty and we are doing...

That... that about sums it up. That is from Hermitmaster. That is a baby B-dubs. That is exactly what I'm talking about. But we're back now, back on the Hermitcraft server and back trying to make some progress. And the big thing for today is trying to build

this structure. And there's two things that I'd like to achieve this episode. One, we finish the river. This is going to take a little while, but it's completely doable as I've got quite a lot of the resources now. I've got to go all the way around. It's, you know, it's quite a lot, but we'll get there. But the big one is moving on to this. I want to get the structure up. Maybe not the details, but the actual structure up and running. It is an octagon, so it's going to be quite difficult. So my plan is to do a very plain

Shape and then bring it all together later We've got all this space inside of the mountain and I don't quite know what to do with it just yet But I do need a sugarcane farm. So that's something that could go in there. So the server is also Hello, oh Red suit, What's up?

I was kind of hoping you'd just float away. That might have been the best 45 minutes of my life. That was, uh, that was exceptionally, exceptionally funny and unexpected. Whenever Mumbo turns up, I end up just having the best time. I haven't seen him in blimmin' ages. I guess just, I don't know, he's just not been on at the same time as me.

I'm gonna have to try and just like, get an alert on whenever Mumbo's logged on, get like a text. Mumbo is online and I'll rush wherever I am in on the planet, rush to my computer and get the kit on hermitcraft right I've been putting it off now for a while. Let's crack on with making this I don't sound very excited because I'm not very excited, but I will get this done as soon as possible all right ready Let's go Okay, so flying through here you can see that the river is now covered. It was a four or five hour job, and I definitely just stopped when I got to the rest of the

terrain. I've covered up all the ugliness, and I've started the structure. I couldn't wait. I just, I was just started building it up. I've been trying to figure out Exactly how tall this thing needs to be to work now There's a few things that dictate the height of this one the scale of the island to the scale of the things in the background

Gems, mansion-y type thing is going all the way up to that point.

So, in contrast, I felt like I needed to make this a bit taller than I perhaps was going to do initially. So, this is what I've landed on so far. I'm not, you know, 100% convinced of this. I just freeform that. But I think this is a roughly the height that I need it to be. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this octagon actually just has a perfect cross section and a perfect center. I kind of wasn't expecting that. I was expecting to have something with like a two-block centre or something really complicated to have to deal with. So I'm gonna make my way all the way round and this gives me the skeleton of this structure. Right, there we go. We've got the

octagon shape all the way round now and I think scale-wise it looks impressive enough as it is Now something I definitely want to do is not have this be a standalone structure I want to add a few more shaped elements around it to give it a bit more personality than a single structure What those are I don't know yet. I think that's gonna look really cool. I might have to go into Axiom again and just experiment with a perfect sphere. I have a weird feeling that a perfect sphere will look a bit odd

on top of this, and I might need to do something a little more custom. Now one of the questions that's been plaguing me is where is the telescope going to point? So we're going to have this dome or something that resembles a dome across here. But which way is the telescope going to look? Does it look this way in one of the X and Y? Or does it look in a diagonal? I actually don't know the answer to that.

I love builds like this because they almost build themselves. At least in my mind, I don't have to think too hard, the build just tells me what it wants next, which is why I'm going around here again with like an extra layer, because the build said I need a thick top. So by going around again, I can fill in between these two, and it really gives it a much bigger anchor point for your eyes to look at.

When you've got a build this big, it can look really flimsy if you've only got a single block layer as a top, but by making it like four or five blocks thick, it feels much more in scale. Right, I'm not really set on anything at the moment, but let's take a look at that. So far, so good. But there's one burning question that is far more important than making progress in this episode, because we've made a lot of progress. And that question is, what am I going gonna do with all these B-dubs paintings?

I've got stacks of them. I've got- I've got so many. I wonder if I can fill an entire hall with these paintings. Yep, this looks good. Two by two by two by two. Yep, that- this feels right.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I think I need more B-dubs. Well, maybe you can never have enough B-dubs. We're gonna need more B-dubs. It feels wrong to be wasting this much good planks when I could be making this out of bamboo, but I don't have a bamboo farm and I can't be bothered to go and borrow some. And I think we are pretty much there.

We could put another layer here. I have got some spare B-dubs. Yeah, somehow this just feels right. The hall of baby B-dubs. Look how happy Skiz is. He is the proudest father in the world.

And why wouldn't he be? My work here is done!

I'm at the stage now where I want to take this off into my creative server and

experiment because I'm not a hundred percent sure what colors I want to use and it is a lot easier to change stuff out with commands than it is to replace everything and decide I don't like it. So this is a great place to start, this is where we're going to be going from here, and I can also figure out what these additional structures are that are going to go on the side. Well, I think we've done pretty well this episode. We reunited with Mumbo for the first time in ages and it was as glorious as I hoped it would be. And we didn't just just mess around We've created an entire river which I think between episodes

I'm gonna just fill in the places where the beach is in the correct place I think I can just fill this in it's a bit of a pain to do this But water is changed and it's a lot easier than it used to be you just got to make sure you fill in the corners And minecraft kind of just does the rest.
