Hello everybody, welcome to That's Football, I'm Mark Goldbridge and we've got some huge news for you. Jose Mourinho heading back to Real Madrid. David Ornstein confirming that Florentino Perez is pushing this through. What are your thoughts on this and what does this say about football and the big ramifications it will have on the Premier League? Because I know Jose Mourinho is going to be looking at players here. Also, we are approaching May, which means our daily transfer show
is going to be coming back very soon on That's Football. But some hilarious updates here. I'm just going to drop this one. Newcastle are going to explore selling Wizzer in the summer, less than a year after signing him for £55 million. Newcastle exploring the opportunities
of selling Wizzer a year after he flopped is like exploring the Tot of selling Wizzard a year after he flopped is like exploring the Tottenham dressing room for a backbone, isn't it? But you're not going to find one. However, they'll stay up now.
We'll delve into a little bit about that. But here we go. Fabrizio Romano, not. David Ornstein. Real Madrid, Perez is driving the process for Jose Mourinho to go back to Real Madrid.
He wants him back. Not everyone is supportive of the return, but Florentino Perez is Real Madrid, isn't he? What are your thoughts on this? Remember, we've got PSG by Munich tonight, the purists football game. Like this is not a Premier League team in sight. It's a football game. It's a football game. It's a football game. It's a football game. It's a football game. It's a football game. It's a football game.
It's a very reputable award to get. Overlap won an award, I think Rio Ferdinand won an award as well. That is for best YouTube show for our coverage of the Bundesliga this year. So thank you to everybody who got involved in that.
Bundesliga, YouTube for platforming it, everyone behind the scenes, real achievement. I. Bundesliga, YouTube for platforming it, everyone behind the scenes, real achievement. I said it was an achievement when we got it and we've now had an award for it. So that's your award, it will sit up there as your award.
So there we go. Thank you very much to all of you. The channel goes from strength to strength. I said at the time, having official game footage on a YouTube fan channel is incredible. And there it is, vindicated in an industry award.
So well done if you're into all that sort of stuff. Well done. Mourinho back at Real Madrid. I think it's interesting, isn't it? Because I think that I've said this time and time again, there is this
desire from billionaires to change football. I think we've seen it at other clubs. We certainly saw it at Chelsea. We might be about to see it at Manchester United, where you bring in an inexperienced head coach
and then the board controls them. But this is not the foundation of football. When you look at Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and Inter Milan and Real Madrid the first time round, he cannot be controlled. He is a manager. When you look at Jürgen Klopp at
Liverpool, it's the same. When you look at Pep Guardiola at Man City, Sir Alex Ferguson, it goes on and on and on. And it's interesting that Real Madrid are moving away from Xabi Alonso, who, let's be honest, was a head coach.
They're not going to give for a head coach. They're going to bring Mourinho in. Now, technically, he might be a head coach but come on, he's not the guy who sits back and says tell me what to do. And it's very interesting that the biggest and most famous club in the world is now going for an experienced coach. And I applaud it. I applaud it from a from a story perspective. I think it's fantastic that Jose Mourinho is going to get that opportunity to go back to Real Madrid and we'll talk about how that might go in a minute. But I also applaud the direction. I want to see Pep Guardiola, I want to see Jose Mourinho, I want to see managers managing football clubs and players playing
for football clubs. I don't want boardrooms running football clubs. I think it's a bad idea. So I think it's very interesting that the biggest club in the world is going for an experienced coach and it'd be very interesting to see how it plays out because Barcelona have been the better team in La Liga and in the Champions League for the last couple of years when it comes to Spanish representatives. So look, I'm very excited by it. Will it work? You know, I think that he's been very impressive at Benfica. I mean, I don't know whether they've lost the game in the league yet, but he's been very impressive at Benfica.
I mean, I don't know whether they've lost a game in the league yet, but he's been very impressive there. And, you know, let's be honest, Mourinho has had to take jobs that are difficult and Real Madrid is a difficult job, but on a different level.
They are going to rebuild that midfield and I think he'll do well. I think he will do well there. I think he makes Real Madrid Interesting. I think Real Madrid have become a little bit about their players and not necessarily about their manager And I think Mourinho gives them that authority and leadership that they need Fantastic players there and that's gonna be fascinating to watch. I might start watching La Liga again I might do but let me know your thoughts. I'm very excited about it. Hopefully it's going to happen fascinating to watch. I might start watching La Liga again. I might do.
But let me know your thoughts. I'm very excited about it. Hopefully it's going to happen and I agree with it. On the transfer front, look, make sure you subscribe to the channel. We did this last summer.
We're going to do it this summer. Every day, a transfer show, talking about what's going on in the news, et cetera. A little bit, maybe people might say tame, but a few things to get our teeth into. English striker Liam De Lappe wants to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea. According to the Telegraph, Chelsea fans are crying.

Get started freeI'm laughing. No, look, I think Liam De Lappe had his choice of clubs a year ago. Man United was one of them. I think Newcastle, Everton. He did a little bit of a tour, didn't he? And then he chose Champions League Chelsea and Chelsea went,
I wish he'd chose someone else. Liam De Lappe took a step too soon. I don't think he's a bad player. I just think he's not a Champions League top four player. He should have gone to Everton. Ipswich to Chelsea is a massive step up after one year in the Premier League. And I think you have to question the judgments of Chelsea
and even Man United for trying to get him. But I look at it from a United point of view and I think glad we didn't. He needs to get his career back on track. And I don't know whether he's gonna do it at Chelsea. I think a loan move might not be a bad idea
if Chelsea got the money to do it. Also, Newcastle, as I said, are exploring options to sell Whizzer. I mean, how? I mean, it's almost like this the shortest exploration in the world, isn't it? Does anybody want Whizzer for 40 million pounds? No. OK, that's over. Incredibly bad deal.
It reminds me a lot of Mason Mount to Man United. We paid 55 million pounds for Mount when he had one year left on his contract. He clearly had injury issues. We gave him quarter of a million pounds a week and the number seven shirt. Actually, Mount's worse than Wizzer. Newcastle fans, there you go.
I've made you feel better. It's not as bad as Mount. But they got Wizzer because they were desperate. They needed strikers. They'd been rejected a lot. They spent, what was it, £55 million on him with one year left on his contract and he's been injured for most of it.
When he does play, he misses sitters. I think Eddie Howe has been dealt a difficult hand with what they actually recruited last summer and the money they spent on Valtimeder and Wizzer as well. They might just have to crack on with it. I don't know what you do with that. I really don't know what you do with that. In other news, Stephen Gerrard could be heading off to Bristol City.
That's interesting. There we go. Dortmund are closing in on Jadon Sancho and Liverpool could miss out on Ivory Coast winger Jan Diamonde as the 19-year-old is likely to stay at RB Leipzig, says Christian Falk, who is a German journalist. I have said this before, Liverpool fans, I'm very interested over the next coming weeks and months as the 19-year-old is likely to stay at RB Leipzig, says Christian Falk, who is a German journalist. I have said this before, Liverpool fans, I'm very interested over the next coming weeks and months
who you're gonna replace Salah with, because you ain't getting a lice, never gonna happen, and he'd be perfect. And if Yandi Amonde is gonna stay another season at Leipzig, which he might do, he's only 19, he's only had one year in Leipzig and they're going to be in the Champions League, then where do Liverpool go next? Maybe Anthony Gordon at Newcastle, but you'd want to get in on that early. But it's tough, isn't it? The market's really good for midfielders.
It's not so good for wingers and Liverpool probably need two. So it's gonna be very interesting. Let me know your thoughts where that's gonna go. And Harry Kane may be signing a new contract at Bayern Munich, according to the Mirror. I hope he is. I hope he is. I mean, I am so excited about this game tonight.
I think it can't not deliver. It can't not deliver. PSG, Bayern Munich, it cannot not deliver goals. I think it's these two legs are the two best games of the season, footballing wise, for me. They are two incredibly good teams going head to head
for a place in the Champions League. And we saw Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, fantastic games. I think we're going to see them again. And I think Harry Kane is wise to stay at Bayern Munich. I think some people mocked it, but I think Harry Kane's move to Bayern Munich has taken him from a decent striker where some people thought he was world class
and some people didn't, to absolutely one of the best strikers in the world. His status has elevated to a level it never could do at Spurs. And they're Champions League semi-finalists and the world's gonna be watching and then you've got a World Cup to come. If I was Harry Kane, I wouldn't leave. I wouldn't leave.
If he can win the Champions League with Bayern Munich as well and they've got a very good chance, I'd stay for another year. I mean, look, we're very biased. We do watch the Bundesliga here, but incredible crowds,
incredible football, loads of goals, he's a better player for it. And you know, Alisse ain't going anywhere is he? Luis Diaz is loving himself there, loving it there, so yeah, I hope he does. Anyway, get your comments in, loads to get your thoughts in on there. Make sure you subscribe and make sure you're tuning loads to get your thoughts in on there. Make sure you subscribe and make sure you're tuning in tonight, 8 o'clock PSG by Munich, leg one, on That's Football. Speak to you all soon.
