How An Artist Knows When To Be Done

Hey, Kim, I know you've been working on this painting for almost two years, but how do you know when a painting like this is done? When I feel like there's nothing more that I can do to improve on the painting, that's when I know it is done. But here's an example in this area where I just was not completely happy with the lighting. I felt like I could warm it up more.

So I added more lighting to the rocks here, and I added a rock here. This is what I had before, and I added this rock, and then I thought, if I slide it over, maybe I can improve on the shape of the bush. So I slid this over, and I really like what this did to the shape of the bush, and it allowed these 2 rocks to be shown.

So that really improved that area of the painting for me, and if I can paint that in on the original itself, and if I can paint that in on the original itself, I'll be happy with this area.
