HUGE Liverpool Deal! Arsenal 100 Million BID!

Hello, everybody.Welcome to That's Football.I'm Mark Goldbridge.This is your latest football transfer news and it's big deals.The World Cup takes a break ahead of the final and Liverpool, Arsenal and a couple of other clubs to discuss.We're going to start off with a huge deal for Liverpool, but also Villarreal.

and Arsenal could be doing two deals, two very, very big significant deals.I also want to talk about what Graeme Soon has said about Declan Rice being a limited midfielder.Is it right to pile on Rice after the World Cup?Or is there a little bit of context that's key there?We'll talk about that in a moment.But the big deal for Liverpool and maybe some Liverpool fans will be thinking, when are we going to start doing big deals around incomings?

I'm sure that's about to follow.

And I think if they get Barcola, as I've said before, All right, I think Yam Diomonde is a good signing, but I don't think Barcola is that bad either.So that could be the big Liverpool deal.

We'll keep an eye on that over the coming days.But the big deal that has been announced in the last 24 hours is Subozlai.

I know when a player signs a new contract in the transfer window, you fall into that trap of, is this the club?I remember Man United doing this a few times.We'd do a new contract in a January transfer window or a summer transfer window.And you'd be like, well, we could do that in -season.Why are we doing it in a window?We're trying to fob it off as like a new signing.

And you get a bit concerned about whether that's going to mean limited funds.But I think in relation to Sir Bozlai, This is a very big, significant deal for Liverpool.Their player of the year last season, as far as I'm concerned, and tying him down to a contract till 2031, it just heads off any issues.Maybe next summer, if Liverpool have a bad year and Sebas Lai is being looked at by the likes of Real Madrid, which I think he would be, there is a huge sense of security there for Liverpool now in relation to fee and long -term future at Liverpool.So look, if Liverpool can build a new future under Iriola with Sboslai a huge part of that, you know you've got him long -term.So I think that's a very, very significant deal for Liverpool and I'm sure Liverpool fans are happy about it.

I do think there's a lot of things Liverpool need to do.and we would expect that in the next coming weeks, about a month now until the start of the Premier League season.And Liverpool normally are a club that like to get their players in early and especially with the new managers.So I'd say watch this space with Liverpool over the next few days.Watch this space with Arsenal as well.Lots of reports today from credible outlets talking about Morgan Rodgers being Arsenal's priority.

Obviously, we know that they're still very much in for Bruno Guimaraes.Can they get a deal done with Newcastle?I think Arsenal are in a really, really strange situation.They won the Premier League, they got to the Champions League final, but you can see it in the World Cup.So many of their players, we'll talk about Declan Rice in a moment, just look tired.and understandably so, they look tired.

And Salaiba obviously collapsing on the pitch for France in the semi -final with a back issue.He's going to be out for a few months.They've now been linked to Konza at Arsenal as well, which I think is very interesting because Premier League proven experienced centre -back.Would that be a clever move for Arsenal?They could be doing a double move with Morgan Rodgers as well.And I think they will get Morgan Rodgers.

It's an interesting one with Morgan Rodgers because I sort of look at Arsenal And I go, yeah, Trozad's left now.You've still got Odegaard.You've still got Eze.You've still got Madawiki.You've still got Saka.You're now going to bring Morgan Rodgers in.

I mean, to me, Eze and Rodgers are not out -and -out wingers.So how does that work then?I mean, they're basically competing for the same position with Odegaard and potentially Havertz as well.But you know what?Arteta has never conformed to common sense.He doesn't do that, does he?

So he probably sees a vision as to how he can use Rodgers on the wing or whatever.But 100 million pounds is what they're going to pay for him.It's a lot of money.I'm not and I do think Morgan Rogers deserves the right to go and play for one of the elite teams in the Premier League And I'm not saying that Villa don't do well they do but I don't think that financially in a position where they can mix it up with the likes of Arsenal.So if Arsenal drop their money, I think Villa will take it.And I think it's, you know, they're probably ready to take it really.

So definitely keep an eye on that.I can't see Rodgers going anywhere else.There was talk of Tottenham and there was talk of Rodgers being open to that.But I think it's a little bit like Ezeh, isn't it?If Arsenal don't come in, he probably would go to Tottenham, Morgan Rodgers.But if Arsenal come in, then I think that deal will happen.

And I think it will happen quite soon.And If we're being completely honest, this is loose change to Arsenal.They are a consistent team in the sense that they compete for the Premier League every year.They qualify for the Champions League every year.and they're benefiting from huge revenue coming in.So spending two or three hundred million pounds every summer on players.

That's the model for Arsenal now.And they'll keep doing that.So I think they could get Alvarez.I think they could get Alvarez on Rodgers and Bruno G if they wanted to.And that's a scary thought.Probably Konzer as well.

So keep an eye on Arsenal.But look, I think Arsenal What are your thoughts about Arsenal?Very early thoughts.Of course, we don't know what the season is going to be like in relation to the transfers yet.But I do think Arsenal will start the season as, you know, deserved favourites.But there is an exhaustion to Arsenal.

Absolutely.And it was very interesting what Graham Soonas said after the England World Cup exit, where he was saying that Elliot Anderson and Declan Rice are limited players and spoke about how this sort of high -octane, high -energy style of play is good, but they're not the sort of player that can get on the ball and keep the ball, which is obviously the problem England had in the last 40 minutes against Argentina.Look, I think a lot has been said about England and I don'tready to move on from it now.You know, it is what it is.We're out.

We're going to move on.I think big mistakes were made tactically with the substitutions and the way that we wanted to play.And I don't think Declan Rice made those substitutions.And I don't think Declan Rice made those changes.

But I was looking at the amount of games Declan Rice played last season for Arsenal, and it was like 55.55 games.And I think he played nearly 4 ,500 minutes as well.Well, 90 minutes per game.That works out about 50 full 90 minute games because Declan Rice isn't one of those players that gets subbed off.So 55 games and he nearly played all of them, like four games.

So that is an immense workload for a club that's grinding out winning the league, which would have been mentally and physically tasking.Then the Champions League final as well.A huge amount of football.Then you go into a World Cup where they've been here, there and everywhere.Loads of travel, loads of different climates.I mean, I just think Declan Rice was also carrying injuries.

I hate to say this because we say it every tournament, but the World Cup in the summer for certain players is an absolute killer.I don't think Dembele or any PSG player looked particularly good in the World Cup consistently.They all seem to fade away as well.

I haven't analysed the seasons of the teams in the Argentina side and the Spain side, but certainly the volume players, PSG, Arsenal, there aren't that many of them, is there, playing in the World Cup final?And there will be isolated cases.I'm just trying to think, is there any Arsenal or PSG players in the Argentinian side?No.And are there any in the Spanish side?

No.Maybe there's some correlation there.But I think specifically for Declan Rice, he just looked absolutely exhausted.And so did Harry Kane.in the last two games as well.So I don't think we can start analysing Declan Rice as a limited midfielder.

He got to a Champions League final, and he won a Premier League as one of Arsenal's biggest and best players.I don't think there's a problem with Declan Rice the footballer.Yes, I think England need to keep the ball better, but I think England went out of the World Cup because of Tuchel.And I think what naturally happens is, and I predicted this, Tuchel universally got the blame for his tactics.And that's the right thing.You trust your instincts.

But what happens is people get bored of saying the same thing.So after about 48 hours, they start trying to find other things to blame.And now we're blaming Declan Rice and we're blaming Elliot Anderson.And it's wrong.It's wrong.You know, if at 1 -0 against Argentina, we kept a back four and we played more on the front foot, they would have had chances.
