I Booked Blackpool's Worst Rated Hotels... Disgusting!

I've just booked Blackpool's three worst rated hotels.Like you do.Why have I done it?Well I'm heading up to Scotland.I've rented a car.I'm heading up to Scotland.

It's that way.Scotland.Tenerife.Scotland.I'm heading up to Scotland to do some vlogging and anyway last year I did a Worst Rated Blackpool.It did really well.

I did Best Rated Blackpool.It's not all negativity on here.So I thought, yeah, I'll call in Blackpool again because it's a nice sunny day.Let's make a little worst rated hotel type vlog.So I've booked the three.The three worst according to booking .

com.I mean, to be fair, they're really cheap and we're going to have a look round them.We're going to look at all three, but the twist is...There's a twist.The twist is, obviously, I can only stay in one.

So I'm going to choose one and stay in here.Hello!Are you alright?I thought, who's that waving at me?Sorry about that, I got temporarily distracted by Dave and Pauline and it was lovely to meet you both and they've come here for a few days from the North East from... where did they say come from?I don't want to... did he say Durham?

I think they'd come from Durham.So yeah, what's going on here in the sea?There's something going on here.Funny thing just happened, so I've seen because I've done a bit of stuff in Blackpool I've seen a few subscribers this morning and you get a bit like you know and then this bloke come up to me and he's like oh excuse me and I'm like yeah yeah yeah you got a photo do you?I weren't really.I'm like yeah yeah he says have you got any spare change mate?

I'm like oh charming.Now as I am about to undertake this ordeal for the sake of this video I'm sure you knowthat I deserve a little treat.You know, something to keep me going, something to look forward to.So, with that in mind, I am going to treat myself today, later on, to fish and chips.And that is a big treat for me because I'm trying my best to be healthy.

As you know, I'm eating a lot of salads.I'm down to just four pints a day.so it's a special thing and i put a thing on facebook i put a bit of a well i just asked the question if you're not following me on facebook get following me by the way i asked the question what's the best fish and chips in blackpool and overwhelmingly the winner was yorkshire fisheries hey we're better at everything out of yorkshire and it's ironic that we're in lancashire and the best fish and chip shop here in blackpool according to everyone on facebook is yorkshire fisheries A big shout out to Tower Fisheries, a lot of people suggested them.But obviously, being a Yorkshireman, I'm going to the Yorkshire one.That's going to be my treat today.The first hotel is right down here near Pleasure Beach.

And it's a bit early yet, so I'm going to just mooch around.I might even go in Wetherspoons actually for a coffee.I think it's down this way.Is it Velvet Coaster?

I better have walked past it, you know.

The Velvet Coaster.I'm going to go in there and have a coffee.It's massive, Blackpool.Absolutely huge.

Where is that Wetherspoons?

You see that hotel across there, the one in yellow, the Craig -y -Don.What's that like?Has anybody stayed in there?Because that's, it always seems busy.There's always people, like there's a bar in at wind of the inn, people always, it seems like a good proper traditional bed and breakfast type place.Is it any good?

I might review some places like that, you know, bed and breakfast.That looks a bit grim, doesn't it?I'm gonna walk down this street, we'll see what's going on.The back streets of Blackpool.It's Pandahomium.What do we think that is?

That looks good.Is that a hotel?A bar?Is it open?They do brunch.I like all these seats out here.

So you can look out to sea.That's the sea, just in case you didn't know.Quite nice.This promenade at Blackpool is absolutely mahoosive.I mean, I don't think there's any official start and end point, but depending where you start and where you end, it's between four and seven miles.So yeah, it's massive.

they're always building new hotels there's building work going on back there and there is just coming up here and what's really interesting is that there are over 10 ,000 hotel rooms in Blackpool the official figure is more closer to 10 ,500 which is quite a lot when you think about it but that's dwarfed when you compare it to Benidorm which is over a hundred thousand hotel rooms and then that's dwarfed when you compare it to Vegas.So Las Vegas has got the most hotel rooms in the world and that's around about 150 ,000 different rooms.I mean, think about it.I think I'll have a cheeky cup of coffee in here.Sit inside, it's a bit nippy out there.Well, that was a nice coffee I had.

I didn't film it.You don't want to see me drinking a coffee, do you?Okay, so we can check into this hotel.The first one of three.This is the hotel that cost £28 and it's called the Crosby Hotel.It's just down here past the Pleasure Beach.

I'll get a little bit closer and then I'll read you some of the reviews and then we'll check in and we'll have a look around.Right, I'm going to read the reviews as we walk to this hotel and these are all real.Richard says... don't see it ahead oh my god review number two liam says avoidis the worst hotel i've seen ever in regards to cleanliness owner walking around smoking while showing the rooms not being decorated in years live exposed wires in bathroom no towels no toilet roll should be shut down by trading standards and here we are let's go and have a look it's the one with the cladding missing on the side and the caravan parked on the drive maybe that's my room the caravan which to be fair i'll be all right with that i'd quite like it so remember let's not be too critical because it's cost 28 quid i'm going to go in and have a look around this room there's nobody answering though it's a good start isn't it it's half two and check -in's at two there's a camera in the window maybe they can see me have i been scammed yeah it's 28 quid isn't it but is it a fake listing it was from booking .comcom so i'll get my money back but There's nobody here, can't get in.That's a right start to a video, isn't it that?

Thank you.Okay, will do.Thank you.right we've got in so it's not a scam that lady was very nice i've got to be honest but this is the room this is what 28 pound gets you we've got a fridge we've got a minibar there i mean would you sleep on that bed i mean look at this got a stain there hear me kettle the light don't work there's no light in the bathroom but you reckon this is the worst hotel room i've ever had it's even worse than the one that I had the last time I come to Blackpool the main downside about that one was the other guests the room it weren't too bad this room is absolutely terrible and there's no way I'm going to be staying in here so I'm just going to go out and I want to dump the keys back in the bowl and never come back and yeah I know you're going to say what do you expect for 28 quidI know that I get that I'm not being funny I'm just doing this to make the content and they're just to show you what some of these hotels are like it's absolutely minging she asked me if I wanted any shower gel or shampoo I've got me on anywhere if I was staying here but I don't even want to sit down on that bed to be honest I mean what's the purpose of that I forgot a massive fridge as if it's not small enough dear me that lady were lovely as well You know, you can paint your walls, can't you?Paint your walls and put another tenner on price or something.

You know, you could put a little bit of effort into each room and then put your prices up a bit and it'd be alright.Anyway, I'm just gonna dump my keys down there and get off to the next one.Or maybe go and get some fish and chips, I think, first.And drown my sorrows.Right, one of the owners was outside there, he smiled at me.He seemed a nice bloke as well.

You can just tell, you can tell in somebody's eyes, but...She was a nice lady.I've just dumped keys in there.I'm not staying in there.Obviously, I'm not staying in there.Gosh, that was grim, wasn't it?

I'm going to go and get them fish and chips now.i need my treat already i've got two more i just hope they're not as bad as that that was the cheapest so we're working up that were 28 pound the next one was 30 and then the one after that i'm not telling you but it was a little bit more the one after that is one of the most hated hotels in the uk right i've got a dilemma i've got to stay at one and i can't stay at that because i've dumped my keys in the bowl but look i'm not going to be one of them fake youtubers if they're all as bad as that right i'm not going to pretend i've slept in one i'll be honest with you and i'll go and get it premiering and be honest i just want to emphasize that doing worse rated is not me sort of disrespecting Blackpool.I'm doing it because these are the cheapest hotel rooms in the country right now.So I think people are interested to see them, aren't they?I've done the most luxurious hotel in Blackpool.I've done the best restaurant.

I've done quite a few of the attractions and stuff like that and Blackpool is what it is.People either love it or hate it but we've had some good nights out here, me and Helly Bob's.You can have a... well I've had good days.I've fetched my daughter here and still it's alright.So don't start with all your trash in Blackpool because I'm not doing that at all.I've just put onto Google how far it is to the fish shop and that is an example of how deceiving Blackpool is.

So it's near the tower.Let me spin around.So it's near the tower.Can you see it off there in the distance?And it's 1 .9 miles.It's going to take me 40 minutes to walk it apparently.

I'll have earned some.

I'm shattered.I'm nearly there, nearly there now.I was just thinking as I was walking along the front there that I need to remember what my mum keeps saying to me, you need to ask people to subscribe and I forget a lot so if you're not already subscribed please subscribe to my channel I'm begging you.It's completely free and all it means is that when you log on to YouTube and that you'll see my videos pop up and you can choose whether to watch them or not so yeah I'd appreciate that and I like your feedback in your comments and thumbs up and all that sort of stuff right I've worked up an appetite we're just down here Yorkshire fisheries let's hope they're fantastic down here somewhere I can see a pub ask and tap I might go there after can see it I'm excited I hope I get a seat in cafe is it open I hope it is!Right I'm in, it's nice, it's a very nice, it's quite a big and I've got to say I've got a cup of Yorkshire tea and the lady that served me, really really friendly.So when I put the thing on Facebook and ask people to recommend, obviously I've gone for the Haddock Chips and Mushy Peas, they always have that tartar sauce.

But somebody's told me to try the curry sauce as well, so I've ordered that.And they do a spicy curry sauce, so...I like these.Mini milk bottles.And here it is.We have Haddock Chips, Mushy Peas, curry sauce, and... and Yorkshire tea.

Great.I'm excited.Let's put the vinegar on first.Let's try a chip.Mmm.When you order, you can either have it crispy or lightly fried.

I went for crispy.Puppy tart is awesome.Eating all that.That, I can understand why a lot of people like it.It's a little bit too spicy for me though.But you know, you either like it or you don't.

I don't really like curry sauce on fish and chips to be honest.But I tried it.It's the trying it that counts.Well that was awkward.I couldn't do a review.I couldn't do a proper review because they were really lovely in there.

The staff were right nice and they were chatting.And then the owner come up and I chatted to her for quite a bit.The way I'd sat, I shouldn't have sat there really because it's where I was facing the counter and they're all there watching me.They weren't watching me if you know what I mean, but I just felt really conscious.She's saying, well, I hope you like everything.They were really nice.

Hope everything's satisfactory, let me know.And it just didn't feel right.Do you know what I mean?I couldn't do a proper, I couldn't do a proper review.Yeah, they were nice.That's all I'm going to say.

They were all right.They were good.But the curry sauce situation, Can't go up with curry sauce.fish and chips i tried it i can't do it people are loving this statue there's somebody dangling there's a dangler so i'm just parked here with all the the outdoor lager enthusiasts i'm going to go and get a couple of cans and join them i think so we're going to the next hotel it's called the mellory hotel and it's costing 32 pounds i'm going to read you some of the reviews first and these are like i said genuine reviews Right, Robert, he says, this is the worst hotel we've ever stayed in.As you walk in, the smell hits you.Well, I think he means hits you, but it's you.

The woman who says she works here, she couldn't be bothered to say hello.Just, it's £10 for the dog.When we got to the room, it was horrible.There was one old towel on the bed for two people.The fridge is mouldy and dirty.There's a crack in the sink, an extension cable across the floor, no hot water.

It's all happening.This was our first and last time ever going anywhere near this hellhole.Take our advice and stay clear.Lisa says the hotel is shocking and extremely dirty everywhere trading standards need to visit.and it fails on health and safety regulations.It has hazard breaches and no hot water is available anywhere.

It is the worst B &B ever and it smells awful and the owner is very rude and abrupt.I don't recommend this place at all to anyone.I won't be coming back at all.Done.She's never coming back is Lisa.So this is the second hotel.

This is Mallory.Let's go and check in and have a look.Right, we're down here apparently.I think we're at the bottom on the left.There's so many B &Bs in Blackpool.There's no vacancies at the Silver Birch.

So I'm just walking down this street and I've booked into these two lovely ladies and they've come to check in this hotel here and What do you say, it's been repossessed or something?

It says on the sign, we've just seen the sign, saying that it's been repossessed.

Oh dear.

So you've paid up?Three weeks ago, yeah.

So you've paid for two nights?

Yeah, two rooms, two nights.

And a dog.I mean you can have my room that I've booked down there, but I've heard.Because I've booked three rooms, I'm doing a video and I've booked three different rooms and I'm only staying in one of them, but I'm just so I can have a look at them.but that's going to be an empty room you're welcome to have one if you want but i'll tell you what i'll go and have a look and then i'll come back and let you know what it's like yeah but i don't i think it's it's one of the worst reviewed rooms this hotel has closed and repossessed if you have a booking at the ruggery please contact booking .com customer services.

I was just walking down here and I just saw those ladies and they were saying, I'd sort of overheard the conversation.They've paid to get in that hotel and it's been repossessed.But when they booked it,the owner of the hotel knew that and has taken the money.That's really bad.Fortunately it's through booking .

com and they'll get that money back.That's one of the advantages of going through booking .com or sites like that.I think we're this end one you know.Oh God.It's that.

Hello, I've got a reservation in your hotel, I'm just stood outside and there's nobody here, I can't get in.Could you give me a call back ASAP?It's a bit of a worrying thing this.Couldn't get in the first one, but I did eventually after ringing, tried a couple of numbers and I managed to get through to somebody.This one I've been banging on the door, I've rung and it's got a straight to answer phone, so I can't actually check in.I spoke to the lovely family down there whose hotel had gone bankrupt or been repossessed.

So, I don't know.it's an interesting insight into the state of the Blackpool hotel scene.I know they're cheap, but that's probably the problem, isn't it?They're probably not bothered, are they?You know, to them.it's a bad review they've already got absolutely loads of terrible reviews that's why they're worse rated so they obviously just don't care do they that puts me in a little predicament because i was going to choose one of the hotels to stay in the first one i just put the key back in that ball i wasn't going to stay in that room that i've not even had a chance to have a look at it i'll see if i can find some photographs online and put them on for you to have a look and now i've got to find where the next one is i think it's quite a long walk away So what I'll do, there were a nice couple of pubs around here.

I might go in a pub and have a beer and decide what the next thing I want to do is.Oh dear.Conveniently, there happens to be a Wetherspoons here.So I'm going to go in and have a beer, cancel my booking off booking .com and see where this next one is.

Nipping at it.Busy, busy.

Right, so I've ordered a pint.It's called Mad Squirrel.That's the brewery.And the pint is called Sumo.So it's a hazy, fruity, citrusy IPA.Oh, it's very nice.

It's very refreshing.Just what I need.So I'm going to sit here.Before I cancel off that booking on booking .com, I've actually, there's an email address.So I'm going to email the hotel.

they've got until I finish this pint I mean I'm hoping that they come back to me because I'd like to go and have a look in the room but we'll see goodness me it's very windy when you come out on the front it's always windy on here in Blackpool anyway I enjoyed my little pint there it was very nice and there's been a development on the what was it called Mallory Towers or something that hotel I couldn't get in So here's what's happened.I was going to cancel it off Booking .com and it says there's a thing underneath where you can contact the property so I thought I'll give them another chance.I'll email them and I'll say I wanted to check in blah blah but there's nobody there and then so about 15 -20 minutes later I received a terse reply and it said checking is between 2 and 4 read our terms and conditions or worse to that effect it's quite just it weren't like a hi it weren't like a oh i'm sorry you missed checking it was nothing like that it was like check our terms and conditions and i've stayed in hundreds of hotels now and i've never had that like such a small window to check in so yes i am responsible i guess that is their terms and conditions but you know you book a hotel on booking .com you don't check the terms and conditions do you So I emailed them back and I put oh I'm really sorry I was a bit late it was 4 .30 when I got there to which another terse reply came well if you pay £20 late check -in I will send somebody down so it was just you know when you're reading somebody's message and there's no sort of niceties in it at all I'm not being funny at all so I just said don't bother I don't want to stain yourdump of a place anyway.

I mean, you sort of stared through it, didn't you?I mean, the least you could do is have a little bit of customer service skills.So it is one of the worst rated hotels in Blackpool for a reason.And that probably is one of the reasons.So that leaves us with one last hotel.It's quite a long walk.

And this hotel happens to be the lowest rated on booking .com.with just a 2 .6 out of 10 and it is regarded by many and I don't know why but it's regarded as the most hated hotel in Britain I don't know why as I said and when I went in chip shop I bumped into a lady who watches my videos and I told her where I was going and she says whatever you do don't eat there because there's been a case of norovirus this is the type of place I'm going to now and I've got no option I've got to stay at this place I don't even know what name of it Is it Norbrek Castle?Right down here.I've heard a lot of bad stuff about it.The reviews are shocking.

That looks lovely, doesn't it?I like that font on the sign where it says cliffs on the top.It's very 1930s, I reckon that.That's a beautiful building.When you think about it, it's not in bad nick that either, is it?It's been kept well.

I wonder how much is in there.Oh, there's a restaurant and everything inside.That's the sort of place I like.A lot of history.No doubt, I mean, I'm saying that.

It's where the Nolan family were discovered.

There's a swimming pool, a nice restaurant, this bar.So I wish I'd booked here.But we don't know what the other one's going to be like.It's just further down the road.We'll get there in a minute.I'll just have my G &T and then we'll...

I'm just building up to it.It's in there.I wanted to stay.Don't make me go to this place, please.And do you know what, to rub it in, there were a door off to the left and people started going through and I got a glimpse of the magic that lay ahead for those people.And there was a stage and there was lights, lovely sort of fluorescent purple and blue lights and lots of chairs arranged.

Because there's a turn on, a turn.I'm not going to be having a turn here.The only turn I'll be having here is turning around and coming back out again to see if I can get in there.No, I'm going to see it through.I'm going to see it through the Norbrek Castle.I don't think we're far now.

I feel like I've been walking all afternoon to it.But I like it down this end, you know.It's nice.There's lots happening.Lots of nice hotels.I reckon a lot of the people that stay in these hotels up this end they probably don't really go down into town because it's quite a way they'll come and there's be they'll be all entertainment and shows and everything nice meals look at this one here Elgin that's the Elgin marbles so it's like those you come away don't you and you're more or less staying hotel anyway we're nearly there oh it's not even it this isn't it at all from down there i saw that thing on top and i thought that's a bit castley And it's called Norbrek Castle.

I just assumed that were it.But it's not.That's a casino.Right.We've made it.That's been an ordeal.

They may as well say it's in bloody Markham, this place.I mean, God.I just looked on my phone.I've walked over eight miles today.But here we are.The Norbrek Castle Hotel.

And it really does look like a castle.It's got turrets and everything.I'll have to be careful that nobody shoots me with a bow and arrow.from up there and they say there's no food around here.Yorkshiremen are not allowed in the Norbrek castle hut.Look, live nightly entertainment and star cabaret.

I want to watch the cabaret.I want to watch that tonight.It's like a cross between a castle and prison, isn't it?I mean, that does look a bit weird.It's a massive building, isn't it?But before I go in, all this army and everything outside.

I told you it's like a proper castle protected by the army.I don't know what they're expecting.Right, I'll put my glasses on and I'll read you reviews.And again, they're all real reviews these.What an absolute disgrace this hotel is.It needs closing down immediately and bulldozing.

Not just closing down, she wants it bulldozing as well.It's absolutely filthy.The rooms are a nightmare.I'd rather a trip to hell.The room was filthy urine everywhere.The bath filled with dirty water and hair.

There was no soap or toilet roll, no pillows on the bed.Had to ring to ask for them.The room was over 50 degrees.50!That's like quite special, isn't it?There were massive pipes throughout the whole room causing it to turn into a sauna and they didn't even charge extra for that.

We couldn't sleep.We needed up.We needed up roaming the corridors of the hotel and streets all night.They were roaming streets because it was that bad as the room was just unbearable.It goes on, it goes on, I'm not going to read all that.As she finishes it saying, it's honestly vile.

And Trish, she says, Norbret Castle Hotel was dirty in room and outside areas, hazard tape in lift, community areas, no facilities for drinks or food except vending machines, fighting, just drop that in, fighting, fire alarms going off at night, children left to run feral in rooms corridor, cigarette area full of butts, dog chews in room, phone under bed, hair in bath and sink,heard that a couple of times hair in bath and sink no toilet brush handrail fell off wall no bingo no bingo get your priorities right staff running around after each other dirty mirrors in communal areas look like someone had licked them yeah i'm not not a family hotel more like a house faulty towers without the comedy she's really gone to town on trash but we shall see i'm gonna check in I want to see what it's like.If I can get past army men here.Yeah, I weren't kidding.They've got proper army protecting it.Look at guns on that.

I wonder what that's for.Right.Let's go in.I'm excited about this.Very excited.That guy's got a pint.

So there's obviously a bar.And first thing there is a vending machine.So that review was false.In fact, several.And another one.Look, there's so many vending machines.

Cheers.So we've already dispelled some of those reviews.We've seen vending machines andoh we didn't have any reviews about bad staff that were another hotel but the staff were nice zero five three four here we are that's all right isn't it we're in can you hear that wind that wind was that the wind yeah it talked to me that is mental we've got a good view gonna drive me mental in it you're joking me i can't listen to that is it just that windows not shut properly Look at that, I've got guns down there protecting my room.That's how important I am.And that is a lovely view.

So as you come in, I could see on the...I don't know if you can see, there's something that's being painted on the door.It's that window's open.That's not an official murder hatch, that.

I need to shut that.There's no little triangles on my toilet paper, I'm very disappointed.But, here we are.It's alright, isn't it?£40.We've got pillows.

Somebody said there were no pillows.It's not too hot.They said there was hair, didn't they, in dirty water.There's no hair in that.Is the water dirty?No?

It's not dirty.They said there were no pillows as well.Well, there's a pillow there.And there's two there as well.And we've got towels as well.We've got everything we need.

I've got a little workstation there where I can do some work.

So, I think this is alright.40 quid.Do you know what I mean?It's not in Blackpool though, and there's no round here.But, I'm gonna go downstairs and have a look at the bar area.Let's have a look down here.

I've got a bar in here.Oh, we've got karaoke.Brilliant.Right, so that's too much excitement for me for one night.I can't be doing my karaoke.You know, each to their own though, that's what I said.

But, do you know what?It was alright down there.There was two bars.There's one which I didn't go in because it looked a bit...Do you know what I mean?There were like a big gang of blokes in, effing and jeffing, and I can't be doing with that.

So I went to a family area where they were doing karaoke, and then there's a quiz, the staff were lovely, and then as I've just come upstairs in the lift, I've seen that they've got a cinema as well, and they have all different films on, so obviously that's what they do in cinemas, isn't it?So it's alright, isn't it?It's not bad, this, 40 quid, it's just a single room, but I'm alright with it.But I'm going to do a bit of work now and then I'll see you in the morning and I'll let you know how I get on.All right.

Good morning.It is 7 .55 a .m.I've had a shower.I've got dressed and I'm ready to leave.It went all right.

It were a bit noisy, if I'm honest.The walls are like paper and there's quite a few, shall we say, drunken people coming back to the room in the early hours.Another thing.it's freezing cold believe it or not i actually got up and put my jeans on because i was that cold in bed and i put i had that my fleece my gilet on top for a bit of extra heat so that's not very good is it but it was a cold day yesterday anyway so there you go i won't stay in here again it would if i had to i would but i wouldn't choose to but i wanted to show you so i'm going to walk all the way back to the center now i've got a I don't know if I mentioned, I've rented a car, because today is the day.or today and tomorrow, I'm going to drive up to Oban in Scotland.So that's going to be the next video that will be on on Wednesday.
