I MADE A BIG MISTAKE FIXING THE WRECKED BUGATTI CHIRON

Welcome to the Mark 2 channel, the second channel.You get a bit more behind the scenes, I can have a little bit of chat to you guys and we can go through literally everything in detail.For example, some of you guys were asking when we fixed the Bugatti, I repaired this wire here on the crash sensor and some people were saying, oh you should have used heat shrink.I did use heat shrink I just didn't put that bit in the video.It was like there's a heat shrink underneath that tape.And then also he said, oh, well, this solder that we use could change the resistance in the lines.

Well, I checked the resistance on the autel to make sure everything was all good.And that's just something that wasn't that entertaining to put in the video.But we can gather that type of stuff up in the second channel.And also we can talk about loads of other things on here, which is so cool.Like, for example, We've been here like three weeks now, and I've run out of contact lenses.So I've not really been able to see for five days.

You can get like laser eye surgery, but I don't know whether to do it.But it's like 99 % successful.So if you're in that 1 % and you just go blind afterwards, is it worth the risk?Maybe I should do it.What do you reckon, Tobi?

I don't think you're blind enough to do it.

No, but wearing contact lenses is a norse.But anyway, back on topic, the Bugatti was running in the last video.Everything was good running to temperature cooling in everything and we we've got it up to speed but we did have some warning lights on the dashboard that we need to get off we've got the airbag light due to one thing which we think is a pyro fuse but there's two pyro fuses on here one we've learned cuts the power to the starter motor when all the airbags gone but for some reason that didn't blow in the accident don't know why some cases it does some cases it don't i don't know it should have blown but it didn't and then there's another one which cuts power going to the entire car it literally cuts the the power fuse blows and then it cuts the electrical power from the battery going to this fusebox but this still had power as well so maybe there was some kind of fault or mistake or something I don't know something is not quite right happened right there but generally on all Volkswagen Audi cars when they have a crash the power fuse does actually cut off and it does well we see a lot on Lamborghinis they have crashes and the airbags don't even deploy whereas this one deployed all of them so the good thing is that when it crashed Alex and his cameraman were safe inside of it but the power fuse didn't cut out but I guess that's a bit more convenient for when you need to drive it back Anyway, we've got to solve that.So the airbag light has got to go off.We also have a fault on the ECM, the engine control module.

And that was the big one.Let's go to the back.The engine control module has got a fault because we haven't plugged in a sensor.And the sensor is a pressure sensor, which senses the pressure inside The fuel tank so the pressure in the fuel tank the gases build up when you start filling it up So obviously the fuel is filling up in the fuel tank and then the air above it is that's obviously creating more pressure that needs to go somewhere So the pressure needs to escape somewhere and in the old old cars that just used to go into the atmosphere but They've learned that that's quite dangerous, harmful to the environment.All that weird jargon now, even though there's a W16 in here.So that needs to be circulated now back into the engine to re -burn.

So all the gases then, instead of just being exposed to the atmosphere, they go down pipes, there's a solenoid which opens up and pumps it back into the intake.So then it's more efficient and there's less gases in the atmosphere.Now, the pressure sensor, which tells the solar noise to open and close and that is uh in the fuel tank and it's just like down here like i can put my torch literally like directlyon it.There you go, you can just see it.

Go give it a full zoomage.

That one there.There's the plug.There's the plug.And that, that's going to plug into that sensor.The issue is, I've put the car together and I've squashed the sensor between the car.Well, it's not exactly squashed.

Like look, the car isn't actually together.As such like look there is an actual hole But the sensor is wedged between that and I just need to spin it around to plug that in But because it's wasted in between that I literally can't spin it around.So what I want to do I don't want to have to undo these titanium bolts again to split the car apart to spin that sensor around because The more times we undo these titanium bolts and put them back together.We've got risk of them snapping and that just wouldn't be good.We don't want to stress it.Although titanium doesn't stretch like a steel bolt, but instead of stretching, they'll just snap.

And that's why they're here at the back, because if there was an accident, it's designed just for the whole back end to snap off.I don't want to keep undoing and tightening, undoing and tightening, because we could eventually snap them and that wouldn't be good.So I think the best thing to do is just call it a day with that sensor and we're just going to try and butcher it off.and get a new sensor.I've already found what the sensor is off.Surprise, surprise, it's off an Audi A3.

That is the sensor right there.That's what we need.Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Volkswagen light suppression sensor.It's $129 and it's going to be here today.We need to butcher that one out and get a new one on and that should solve our light.We also have a pyrofuse from a Mercedes -Benz.

I don't know why they're using Mercedes -Benz pyrofuses.But there must be a reason we've got to figure a way how to fit that on The only thing we need is this fuse in here because the explosive would have popped off So we'll figure that out so much.We got to do we've got this as well.I want to see if this fits.No, I think it worksbig there, didn't I?

Damn, what a loser.

Took a guess at that.It's like $8, but I took a guess.I'm going to have to get another one.And yeah, so I can fill up the washer fluid.There's all little tiny bits that we've got to do to get the car good.Oh, also, I've got a horn.

That horn is perish.So yeah, we're going to have to solve that.Someone says the painting on the crash bar was not great.Should we solve the hardest problem first?Yeah, let's do it.Let's get that sensor off and see if we get a new sensor back on.

Let's get to it.Here we go, let's get this off.

I can just see the edge of it.

Yeah, we're never getting that out.

Nothing.No.

Let's try and take it off the tank.If not, we're just going to try and butcher it.We'll try everything.I'm going to try everything.We're going with brute force to start with.

That did it.That's actually knocked it.Yeah, I've got it.No way.Yeah, I've got it.It's come out.

It's come out.That was not that easy, surely.Yeah, it was.

I'm not sure it's in the best condition.But I don't actually think it's damaged.Oh yeah, it's damaged.Yeah, look.So that little bit in there, that'll be sensing the pressure.Yeah, look, you can see that that is squashed.

It's just wedged there because it shouldn't come out that way.

Because we got that sensor out, well, not fully out, but out, enough to put hopefully a new piece in, we can put all this part back.So I'm gonna just put all this back in.because we can get to the sensor from the other side now.Okay, we're waiting for that sensor, waiting for that pressure sensor to arrive.In the meantime, let's have a look at this pyrofuse.So here's the CAN wire which goes to it.

That unplugs and that will send a signal to detonate this to then stop power travelling from the battery to this cable here.That cable goes to the starter motor.And that goes to another power fuse on here.Then also this cable is the body electrics, but this cable is completely different to the one that's on the car.Because the one that's on the car is a specific Bugatti cable.Now I don't want to have to like cut this cable and join it to the one that's on the car.

What would be really nice I could get this pyro fuse and put it onto the one in the car But I need to switch over the cables which it could be trickier No, do you know what?I'm gonna cut open this one because I thought I don't want to break the one that's on the car because it's the Bugatti one I'm gonna cut open this one and then we'll see if we can switch them over Never done this might be dangerous.Let's give it a go because I know there's an explosive in there See what's inside There's gonna be a little explosive in there That blows off only that needs to go on the car, but obviously this is all connected as one So the only thing I could think of is if we literally change the wire first, let me see if this actually works So I could do with just plugging it in and see if it takes the airbag light off the dash That'll probably be the first step, but if that does work plugging that inthen we know we've solved the problem.We've just got to get this on the car somehow.So, right, let's go up in the air and let's have a look.

That's the problem.We need this cable to join onto this.

But we need that to stay on this.Let's cut this off because we know we can't use it anyway.If we plug that plug into here and we put everything on there, I want to see if the fault goes Okay, so if I plug that onto there Okay, we're in let's see if that takes the airbag off the dash Oh look passive arrays airbag no faults.We should have no airbag right now.Let's have a look.It's gone off and Stayed off get in do have a check engine light.

You can see check engine and that is because we've got a new one the pressure sensor so if we plug this in then we should have no lights on the dash anymore apart from like headlights for some reason transmission light and we can't clear it because my fault code won't read the transmission unit although i can see there's no faults on it they're all passive i can't clear the lights off the dash we might need a different different code reader for that we've got an esc light on but that's because the four -wheel drive computer is in the rear quarters so they need to plug in we've got to add washer fluid But we need, obviously, to add wash fluid to do that.But we just need to solve what we're going to do with that airbag pyrofuse now.

I'm thinking we may need to join the wire and do a proper nice joining, because it's a really thick wire, so we might need to get some proper wiring stuff.

But let's put this in.then i think we need to join the wire underneath when we start it we should have no light let's check it out this is the bit that's broken we're hoping we can just replace that part there so let's see if we can open it up and get that out yeah that's sealed in it's got like some sealer on it let's try and get this fully out right that's the end of it off i don't know if that's going to help but let's see come off Yes!Yes!I'm sweating in my new HWBT top.Look at that.That's it.

New one could go on now.Once this is on, we know it's never coming off because that is impossible.Yeah, that's on.

Look transmission electrics seven faults, but look, let me show you this.Let me show you this Look all of these faults in the transmission are passive passive passive passive Which means they ain't there like they were there but they ain't there but for some reason when I try to erase them I can't get rid of it.I don't think my auto is going to communicate with the transmission control unit I don't know why so I think we need like another Code reader for that, but the good news is that engine control module pass engine control module pass now I don't think we'll have an engine light.Let's give it a go just for the brakesswitch.Oh, that's odd.

The brake switch, I wonder if that is communicating with those modules that are in the rear quarter.Right, these are the modules that go in the quarters.Let's see if this makes a difference.One.Right.

See if I get a brake line.Yeah.

Yeah.Yeah.Let's erase them codes now that they've got those computers in.Let's see if they come back.The engine warning is now gone.So we do have a brake light now.

All wheel drive control module, no signal.Where's that?

Or unless we do have to drive it and then that goes off.All wheel drive control module, steering angle sensor.Okay, I hope that once we drive it round, the steering angle sensor will pick up and the all wheel drive.So when we start it now, we should have literally only the transmission light and a steering wheel light and a ESP, no EPC light.Let's have a look.So we've got no engine light now, no airbag light.

We need to solve a permanent solution for the airbag and then we should be good to go and give it another spin up to get all the lights off the dash.And then we're clear.We're literally all clear.So homework.The port does work, but we're going to switch over the broken one.Okay, so what I think we need to do is we need to connect this onto there, like that.

So that's just how it is.This wire needs to connect onto this wire.So we need a permanent connection there.So we're going to go to Harbour Freight and see if we can connect this positive wire to that positive wire.But because it's so big, like it's a really thick wire, it's important for us to have a really good connection.on that because we don't want to lose the battery charge so I've got an idea come with me see look see how they're drawing that in there I want to do the same I think I can do it as well so people are gonna cry about it but you know what where's my hammer look at that wire oh my god that's chunky that's that is some chunky boy in it but what I want is to get it like this on the on that one and put the old one in there squash it all down and job done innit.

Okay.This is the one that's just come off the car.The broken one.Even though, look, the fuse hasn't actually popped, but there's something got to be wrong with the terminals.I've had a look, couldn't find anything wrong with it, but obviously this one works.This is the one that we're going to fit, but Look, you can see it is different.

So, look, the terminal's upside down, like, you know, look, the way it comes out is different.And because it's different, look at this.When we, like, connect it up, we put it on there, then this wire then is just not going in the right place.Like, it ain't, it's not, like, we're going to have to extend the wire.It's just going to be a bit of a budge and you don't want that on the battery, it literally powers the whole car.So, what I've looked for is one, and I've found one here, on a mercedes sprinter 2019 and you can see on this you can see the way that comes out you've got the bolt there the bolt there then you've got the terminal which that goes over to there you've then got a stud there you then have the pyro fuse which you have the pyro fuse there and then you've got the wire which comes off it there so we're going to order that that's actually in miami and then we can replace just that pyro fuse

and connect that wire to the existing wire on the car.And then that should be literally OEM repair rather than trying to fudge something to make something work, which we could do, but it's just not like we're going to have to make a connection in the wire.So we're going to leave that.Let's see if we get that tomorrow.And then we hopefully should have a faultless car after that.Fingers crossed.

I've got some solder as well, so we'll fill it with solder, heat shrink it, clamp it all down, put it on, hopefully it runs good.We haven't tested this one, see if it works though, but I trust the place you bought it off, it was really nice down there, wasn't it?

Give it a little number one off the top.Ooh, looking fresh.First bit sleeve putting the heat shrink sleeve over the top that'll cover it over stop there being any exposed wires because i don't think this is going to go in that nicely next thing the wire we go clamp it right gonna add a bit of solder on it just hold it all in heat shrink over the topRight, bit of solder's on.It's not that good.But it's on and it's holding it.

that's the annoying part isn't it?Oh my days.Okay, so I can't get another one of those Mercedes things because we're going tomorrow.So I'm going to order one for when we come back and which in the next video we're going to be putting the front end on.Hopefully windscreen and headlights because we're just waiting for them all to be made.Obviously the front of the car is completely bare at the minute we still got other bits to bolt on oh yeah other people said bob didn't make this it was a bugatti one because it has a bugatti logo on there when this part here literally bolts on so like that's completely debunked that because that is made by bob that is made by bugatti that bit wasn't broke but obviously the whole front end of the car isn't here but we're having that all made so all the stuff that's being made like front end headlights bonnet windscreen roof glass and everything like that that should be here in the next couple of weeks but if it's not then obviously the next video could take a while but we're just pre -warning you now because this stuff isn't as easy as just ordering it and getting it we're literally having to make it so at the minute what i've done i've what they've liked to call bodged it I've plugged in the one which does work, but obviously it doesn't connect up to there.

It's just plugged in separately and I've just zip -tied it away.But that's just to get the light off the dash.It should bring the light off the dash, but then I'm obviously going to order the proper one, but I can't get that for now.But I'm well annoyed because that looks like proper OEM, so I will have to get another one.That's definitely come off a crashed Mercedes Sprinter, innit, and we got scammed.Never mind.

It was $100, so there's like, what, 60 quid or something.Right, let's see if that's took the...light off because well it should because we did it before.Let's get the wheels on as well and then hopefully we'll take it for a little drive around the block and then it should have no lights on the dash and we'll feel like we've accomplished something even though we did get scammed.Now there's one bit of trim left on the Bugatti which is like down by your feet which I forgot to give Matt at E3 Customs and this is it so we're gonna head inside and then we can see how he does it as well.because I like to learn.

So this is just heat activated glue.Oh, so when you heat it up, it unsticks?

Yep, it comes right off.

Normally I'll just kind of center it up and this is pressure so like as soon as you push down on it it's stuck He's definitely made this look quite easy.

It looks like, I feel like when I get home I want to buy some trim and start trimming stuff.

Some of it is really easy and some of it not so much.

And then this, you know, I'm just going to trim.I'm going to leave a little bit, but not a lot.

So by driving it, we should get all of the other lights off.Apart from the airbag light.Lights are all off apart from the airbag You've got just the airbag and fuel light transmission light and Tire pressure light And that is complete we finally now have tools and a workspace we've got All the beater work benches and we've got the roll caps just like at home full of all the kit and two of them one for me one for my dad because look we have two different styles of working this is i normally do this get something work then i'll put it back my dad normally gets it out and goes We've got everything we need now to actually start Rebuilding the car in here, like full kitted out transmission stand as well, which drains all the oil.

Goes in there.
