Hello everyone, welcome back to the second channel.Join us fresh off the main channel where we attempted to do a top speed run in this and every time we tried to do something the car broke and it was a different fault every time. This fault we're getting now is no communication with the fuel pump control module. So the car will start up for about one second. Then it will turn off.So the low -pressure fuel pump is working, the high -pressure fuel pump is working because it runs, but the fuel control module is the one that decides when it should inject fuel at right times.
And that one is not communicating.
I have got hopes and prayers that this is a fuse.
Because if this is a fuse, we can continue on our way.Do you know what?I'm going to set now.Don't worry, we're not going to do top speed run after you're fixed. It's heard that and it's going to fix now. It's going to be a fuse.
I'm just going to pull every fuse out. Here we go.
Number one, please be the first one.
That one's good. But I don't know whether it's going to be in here or is it going to be in the engine bay?Nice fuse. That one's all good. All fuses are good under here, but normally things for the engine are in the engine bay.so let's take off the back panel and have a look at the fuses in the engine bay see if we can see anything gone there and if we're not then we've got a bad fuel pump control module which is not good at all right in the front luckily i bought the exact tools i need to take the rear panel off it's almost like i predicted something was going to happen let's start taking the back panel off then you just have to do these 10 mils about half a turn is this car easy to work on or not no You're like, when have you ever had to get into fuses?
completely taking off the back of the car?Getting this off, they could have made it a lot easier.Like it could have made everything like a bit quick release, like the SVJ, you know, it's like, and off.T30 in the middle, two multi -spines just here, three bolts down here.We should be able to lift it off then, but normally you have to put the wing down, but we can't put the wing down, because to put the wing down, you need to start the car.And this car only starts about 30 seconds.
So it won't go down.So we're going to have to see what we can do here. There's loads of fuses in there. We just don't have a multimeter to beep them all.So I'd have to remove every one.And then there's fuses on the other side as well, which are really hard to get to.
We can't move this panel because this wing's in the way and we don't have a 13mm to take it off.I'll be so annoyed if we trail it all the way back and it was just a fuse that we could have just done here.We need a diagram, don't we?So we're nicking a fuse puller out of Matt's Murcielago because That is going to be easier for me to get the fuses out by using this.Take it out of an Italian car because the German car doesn't have it.What is going on there?
Yes!Right now, I can start yamming fuses out.
Right, we're going for the side first where it had the heat issues before.Looks good. That one looks okay.Right, about 50 more to go.
Why is it that this car is really prone to fuse situations?
I'm wondering whether it's the Halfords battery or Look, something to do with that tracker. That's the only thing I could think of.
Do you know, when you actually look at it, we're stood on the Top Gear test track, working on a Bugatti.
Do you know when they were filming here?
Yeah.
Do you reckon like this is what they used to do when they had a Bugatti here themselves?

Get started freeNo, they would have had to have it in Bugatti.
Surprised it even drove when it was here.
Would you rather this, or do the Rivolto again? To be fair, when we fixed the Rivolto it worked, didn't it?So, at the minute the Rivolto is better. And he really liked it.They're all good.I think I've had a look on eBay, I found the fuel control module.
It's what we're getting the issue with, and I think it's behind the seat.So let's have a little look, see if there's anything visually wrong with it.Because I think they're going to be coded to the car and all sorts. But let's see.Does this just come out like it should?Yes, it does.
Nothing.
Yeah, I think it's going to be behind all this isn't it?Annoying there because there's no fuses gone I think the fuel control module is packed up which means I'm gonna have to order one and there is there is one on ebay But why would that just pack up such a random thing?I'm gonna order it because if I don't order it and then I want to order it later on then We've got no hope of where so let's order this fuse pump control module. There it is 1100 quid Why would that just pack in?We just gotta hope that is the issue. But that's all it's saying.
It's saying fuel pump control module is the problem. At least it's telling us the issue. On that note, I think we need to try and get this car back home.
I think the fuel pump control module has gone.Hello again.
The second video in the row. How's it going?
I'm alright. What's broken down this time?
Oh, the Bugatti.
Just in case, because Ethan came yesterday, it was, to pick us up, other side of the road, because it broke down in a French car.It started working. It starts up, so don't get excited when it starts.Just get excited if it stays started after two seconds. We're pushing it on?Yeah, we're pushing it on.
Should I put it in neutral?Yeah. There we go.
That sounded like it was running alright then.
I got excited, it was a little bit longer wasn't it?It was good, but that...
That was smooth, it wasn't smooth before.
But that explains why, like, so the fuel pumps work, but then the fuel pressure control module doesn't work, which is what controls all the pressure, yeah, so like, at the minute it's just blasting fuel in, left, right, centre, it doesn't know what it's doing, but then to maintain it, that computer's got to kick in and it's not kicking in.
Well done guys.

Liam, when are we actually going to make it to Monaco?I don't think we're going to be going. No, we're going to do it in this video.
In this video?
We're going to do it in this video. It is 10 for June because it's 10 for June, 10 o 'clock, the day before his birthday. This time next week, we might be there.
The hopes are still there for Monaco. But let's see. We've got to fix it first. And there's a fuel pump control module in Villeneuse in Lithuania, along with some Bugatti show and headlights that we need as well.
It's back again.
Right. We've had a great day.The car's back and we're just thinking, if it was something to do with the fuel pump, why does it start and run fine and then turn off?Is it something mechanical? But the other thing, one thing I want to take out before we even consider going any further, is we just had a tracker fitted. Is it possible that the tracker could shut the fuel pump off?
That's what we're about to find out.So we're just going to ring and see if there's any kind of, if that's something they can do.
I don't think the trackers affect the fuel though.
But they did say it took Jay's one out and Jay's one can shut the fuel pump off.
So do you think we need to put Jay's back in for it to work potentially?I really don't know.
Because I don't know anything about it, it's not one of them.I don't understand how it works, so I can't understand if it's even possible.Because it is like when you have a ghost in it, turns on, boom, boom, straight off.It is like a ghost. It makes me think it's not a failure of a... like a computerized thing because they normally like gradually go or they get a bit funny where sometimes they're not others this just went like just stopped immediately working so it's like a fuse blown hello um a couple of days ago we had a tracker fitted on uh my uh Bugatti Veyron and i'm just wondering if there is any way that it could like it could shut the fuel pump off or demobilize the car because like just yesterday The call will only start and then just shut off straight away.I don't know if it's got any relation to that.
something could happen with what you said is if you have one of like our mosaic no starter mobilizers yeah um but the standard devices wouldn't be able to do that to a vehicle okay he did mention he removed one to fit one that would be it wouldn't have anything to do with that no okay okay well that that takes out one issue that we need to look for yeah okay so there's one thing crossed off potentially if it ends up being that i'm going to be annoyed but The next thing, let's try that speed key, because the only thing we did different from driving it from here to Dunsfold was we twisted the speed key before we drove it.So could it be something to do with that?Let's have a little play.
The only thing we did different is we put that speed key in.
So I am just going to have a little...The thing is, it is pinging back to where it should.I don't know. Can hear the fuel pump.Fuel pump primes.Could be the fuel control module, but ping that round a bit.
It's so weird because it runs perfect, doesn't it?
Then it just shuts off like a ghost immobiliser.
There's not something wrong with the key. It's not de -immobilising the car.It feels like an immobiliser fault. It does feel like it.I wonder whether it's worth disconnecting the battery and then connecting it back up.And then the next thing is take that clamp off, check all the fuses.

Get started freeAnd then if it's not that, we need to get to the fuel pump control module, see if we've got power to it.If we've got power to it, then that fuel pump control module has got to be full.or this is an immobiliser fault, and it's got a problem with the immobiliser.Where does this key go?Oh, it does.Yeah, it was made off of that key.
But it's not got the immobiliser in that key, has it?There's not an immobiliser.
How did that start the car? There's not an immobiliser in that key.
Yeah, there's no immobiliser in this key.
There's an immobiliser in the galley key.
Well, yeah, there's got to be to start the car, because this is a hollow key. There's nothing in it.This won't do anything. All that is, is a blade. But how is that starting it?
It's gotta be an immobiliser fault.Because it's not picking up the fact that there's not an immobiliser.
Must be.It's gotta be an immobiliser fault.Because how is this key starting the car?Yo!Dit!Oh!
Remember I said my car broke yesterday?I think it's an immobiliser issue.Yes.Yes.
Okay, yeah, that sounds like immobiliser.
I've just put in your pug -gatty key and it starts the car and then turns off.
Yeah, no, that key will start it and cut straight out because it doesn't have a chip in it.And it's not coded to the car, yeah?
But my Bugatti key does the same thing.
It's weird because if you're driving, the immobiliser should never cut the car out because that's a safety issue.Do you see what I mean?
It didn't actually cut the car out, so like, I was driving, I was driving and then it wouldn't...I come to a stop, I turned it off, didn't I?
No, it turned itself off.Oh did it turn itself off?You come to a stop and it turned itself off.
Yeah as soon as I come to a stop then it turned itself off and then every time I tried to turn it back on again it would turn off.
Fuse blown.

Get started freeThat's this is what I originally thought the first thing I thought I thought it would be a fuse blown. What would you think a fuse is blown for?Because it says no communication with fuel pump control module so yeah.
This is what caused it in the first place. What was that fuse for?
well this is the funny thing is that that fuse when we changed it the gearbox pump started working again and so we thought it's for the gearbox pump but i've managed to get a fuse box diagram and it's saying that that's for a fuel pump you reckon it's a fuse so yeah okay so really we've got to get this clam off the back yeah the speed key is that aside for now yeah yeah and just use your main after you've checked the fuses, because I've got a feeling it's going to be a fuse blown.
If it's not that, then let me know, because I've got diagnostics for that as well.
Right, we're going to try and get this little wing off the bottom here. That will allow us to lift off the back panel. We're going to check every single fuse.If it is a fuse, this car is just blowing fuses for jokes.I don't know why.I really don't know why.
I've never known a car blow so many fuses, but now I'm thinking, is it to do with the battery?Because when we took the battery out, It wasn't an original battery on it, but we've replaced it with the same battery haven't we?So is that a wrong battery for it?Why if you put a non -OEM battery on would it cause fuses to blow?I've never known that to happen, but if it's like too high of an amperage or something, like it could randomlysurge i don't i don't really know to be honest but i've never known it's happened i've never known the car to blow so many fuses in fact there's not many cars which i've known to blow fuses and then you put them back in and they work fine like it's just normally if a fuse blows it's because of a different problem on the rolls royce when it's flood damage there was something broken and we've put my fuse in and it was kept popping until we fixed the problem but this it seems that fuses work and then they just randomly pop but it did rain a lot didn't it so it's a fair weather driving car yeah yeah like all of this is open all of that is open in the wet isn't it do you know where it belongs where does it belong monaco i thought you was gonna say autostrada there we go i'm gonna start beeping there are you gonna try that side while he does this side yeah That's okay.
Okay.Okay.Okay.Okay.
Okay.
Good.Good.All the top ones are okay. That's not a good sign.
Everyone's good on that side.I'm going to check foot well, and if it ain't, we're going to have to speak to DIP to see whether it's like immobilised somehow, or that fuel pump control module did just give up.
Checked like nearly everyone.
something toby finds hilarious as well just to add a little cherry on top the cd in the cd player jammed in what cd is jammed in do you know i don't know because it's not quite in and it's not quite out it's just jammed in there it's there it's close
It's there.This car's rubbish.
Absolutely rubbish.
I knew someone said it.
Right, so the engine control faults, the engine faults were for the fuel pump, but we didn't get as far as like scanning the rest of the car, so I'm just having a look what's in this comfort thing. It's probably CD stock.Control module incorrectly coded, locked for central locking.Front passenger side, implausible signal.
Control module incorrectly coded.
Let's send that to DIPS.So sending this to DIPS as well.Invalid data received from fuel pump control module. No signal or communication.

Get started freeWhat we got here then?
Again, fuel pump control module.
It's so weird. So I'll just have a look at Volkswagen Immobilizer reset.Turn the ignition on to the on position with your working key and wait in 10 to 15 minutes. At the minute, from what we know, we don't have a working key, because it don't work.If this fails, disconnect the negative battery cable for two to three minutes to kill electronic modules.Do that.
Last try.Where did you even find that?In the glove box, where it's supposed to be.The old off and on trick, is this going to work?I've got 30 % hope.Right.
See what happens.
That's all folks.Dips is here.
Yes.
Here to save the day.
I hope so.I hope so.
So no pressure.
Yeah.
But we really want to get this car to Monaco. But if it's not an immobiliser fault.
Yeah.
It's got to go back to Bugatti if it's a fuel issue.
If it's a fuel issue, it'll definitely have to go there because yeah.
So it's all on you.
Well, if it's not on me, it's on them.So what do you think the problem is?Right. So it could be a number of things. It could either be the chip inside the key.it could be the immobilizer where the key is knocked out so it's still it was coded to the car but it might have dropped out coding or it might be um the fuel pump side of it so first thing we need to do is make sure we can check everything on the car um we're going to be using avdi just to check the key the transponder in the key and make sure the vehicle is recognizing the key.
And if it's not that, then we'll do a quick fault scan, see what it comes up with. And if it's a fuel pump related, then it will have to go back to Bugatti then. This is not good.Probably not what you want to hear.No.Right.
Transcribe all your audio with Cockatoo
Get started freeSo what I want to do is I want to check the key as well, just to make sure that the key is okay. But as we can see, we can see it says ID 48.So that tells me that the chip is okay in the key and it is definitely reading okay.See that's the other weird thing about this is on all VAG vehicles you'll either have a light for the key if the key is not recognized like a little LED or it will come up on the dash saying immobilizer active or key not recognized or key not found but weirdly it's not even doing that.See now When it's been left on for a while, I try and start it, there's no crank.
Wait, you don't start it by doing that?Oh!
Ignore me, alright? This definitely looks like fuel pump, because it says, invalid data received from fuel pump control module.
That is not good news.
No.And there's no immobiliser faults whatsoever. No immobiliser faults and keys recognised as well.
But why is that Bugatti key doing the same thing as the...No, but that's how they do it.Yeah, but the Bugatti key is doing the same as the Bugatti key.Yeah, but this is what I'm saying.
To me, it's acting like immobiliser fault.Yeah?Do you see what I mean? But it might not be immobiliser because if the fuel pump fails...So when the fuel pump primes, it throws fuel all the way to the rail, yeah?Or all the way to the rail.
When the fuel pumps stopped priming, that's it.Now, when you try and turn the car on... if that fuel pump is no longer supplying fuel if it's not pumping then the only fuel that's in the line the only fuel that's available is the fuel that's in the line which basically means that it will start and then it will cut immediately out when that fuel runs out these obviously drink a lot of fuel as well so it's going to last a couple of seconds but the way it's reacting is exactly how the immobilizer would if that had kicked in so we've got one fault but it acts as though there's two different problems.Do you see what I mean?So both of these problems would give us the same symptoms. So if it was a mobiliser, it would start and cut out.If it was fuel pump, it would start and cut out.
Okay, so what I'm doing at the minute, I'm just removing, well, this back panel enough, so I can get behind it, because there is a fuel pump control module, which is what my fault is coming from.If I can get to that, I can see whether there's anything visually wrong with it.This doesn't seem to be budging anywhere yet.I can just about see the control module, literally just there.
You can just see it, just there.
Nothing visually you can see wrong with it.Is it all bolted in?Yeah, it's all bolted in.I'm going to take this off and see if there's any damage to the pins or anything like that. Here's the connector for it.Can't see anything obvious on there, but those wires go into it.
We can test to see if we've got power going to that, which we probably should do because that controls the flow of the fuel going into the engine and these things control the fuel pump.I think we found the issue.I think I have found the issue.I've unplugged that fuel control module. That's saying no fuel. We've got a flashing engine light.
That fuel control module regulates the fuel, but without that plugged in, the car's running fine because the fuel pumps are constantly running.I've mechanicked it.I've absolutely mechanicked it.I've unplugged this fuel control module.Left that unplugged.what that does is tells the car how much fuel it's got and also regulates the fuel i just thought you know what i just start it up to see how it reacts without that plugged in because i thought at first it was just literally the sensor for the fuel but it's not it regulates the fuel but without that plugged in somehow that's still running because the fuel pumps are now uh just running constantly that's not telling it when to push fuel in or not I don't even know what to say.
But do you know what I found so much more whilst I sat there on my phone?I found recalls for this fuel control pump.Oh my god.The lads are gonna go mental. The lads are gonna go mental.I didn't even think that was gonna work.
Hence why I didn't film it that much. But yeah, I've unplugged it.So it is the fuel control module. We need to find a new one.whether it's coded to the car I don't know but oh my god My heart is going because I did not think that was actually gonna work and now it's working fuel control module I've unplugged it.It runs without it, but it doesn't run good because if I try and boost the boost the car if i try and use the throttle to accelerate it's probably not going to know how to regulate the fuel very well and you're probably going to limp mode yeah look now we're getting tank system fault um but it's all because i've unplugged the fuel control module at least we found the issue we found the issue i've just got to get one of them we found that 72 bugattis had a recall for a fuel pump control module so really Bugatti should replace it free of charge if this is one that's affected by that fuel pump control module which is faulty which clearly mine is faulty because i've unplugged it i've not removed it yet but i have unplugged it and the car now does this runs but it says we have zero fuel so we've got no fuel at all because the module tells the instrument cluster how much fuel it's got.
We also have a flashing engine light, we've got an EPC light as well, a P light. We've got loads of lights which have just been caused by that fuel pump control module.Do you want rev it?
Barely rev it, like it will barely lift off the revs.
I know what's going to happen.Tomorrow, Monday, we're going to end up calling Bugatti.I'm going to say to them, we've got a faulty fuel pump control module. And before anything happens, they're going to say they need the car in.I know it.So really, I would like to be able to fix it without them.

Get started freeBut I don't know what the actual problem is, if it's in the car.that module. The best I could do is get that module out, have a little look at it and see if there's anything obvious that's broken on it.and if not then we have no choice but to call brigade because the fuel pump control module which i did find on ebay is in lithuania and it's not even the right one it's completely different plug it's the wrong type like it won't work on this so finding one of these is going to be hard i don't even know whether actually just unplugging it and plugging it back in would have worked like we don't know but let's take it out first see if there's any obvious things which are broken on it and then we'll plug it back in and see if it all works but I don't know.Let's get it out. There it is.
Interestingly, version 3 .03 I think is the revised version.Right, so I found this recall document online.Literally all I did to find this recall document is put in that part number because I was searching for it.Then I found this recall thing.Fuel tank control unit requires replacement with the later version and it affects Veyrons and Grand Sports. It says install the new tank control unit.
5B0906020B software version v3 .03 we've got the new one and the new one's gone faulty but do you know what do you know what i'm worried about now if we split this open and then Bugatti say we've tampered with it so they won't honour the warranty so like i've got to be careful to make this look like i've not opened it up let's have a little look if there's anything obvious in here is there anything obviously burnt on that It doesn't look like anything, does it?Dips can get his magnifying thing on it and you can see if there's any little crack solders.
I mean, there's one joint there.I don't know if you can see it.Can you see that one's not got much solder on it?Yeah. That's basically lack of solder. So that's like it's not got enough solder on it.
And if it's not got enough solder on it, if the pin moves continuously, that will just crack away from the actual copper that you can see there.Around it, it will just crack away.So you'll still see the solder sitting on top of it.It will look soldered, but it's actually cracked away.So that's potentially why it might work sometimes and sometimes not work.Dibs, this is going to work.
I hope so.This is going to fix it.
I hope so.You're going to fix something, Dibs.
What do you mean, I'm going to fix something?I fix loads of things, all right.
If this works, you're going to be the reason we go to Monaco.Seriously, if this works, I'm coming.
You done, Sune?Yes.So on here, pin seven from the right hand side, that pad looked like it was lifting. Why would it have done that?Hot and cold, hot and cold. That's why I asked you, does it get hot?
OK.
Worth a try.It's worth a try.If that doesn't work, there's one more thing I want to try.But I thought, let's try this first.So give that a go first.
Let's see. We're okay to win it without that cover on, yeah?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Come on!
Come on!
Go.Abigail again.Such a wounder.
I really needed a holiday as well.

Get started freeLiterally, I had a passenger seat free all the way to Monaco.Seriously?
Yeah.Okay, let me try one more thing.Back in the van.Right, so that didn't work.So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to reflow everything just to about as much as I can do at the minute. So, reflowed in three, two, one.
That's a clap.Oh.Done.So basically what we've done is we've reflowed both sides. Now, I was saying that if the voltage regulator is faulty, we can probably get another one, but not for tomorrow. So we're going to have to just hope and pray right now that it is okay and the reflow should do it.
Let's see.Let's try.
So if it's not this, it's got to be an internal fault on one of these little buildings.Buildings? It's like a little city there, isn't it?Right, let's try it.Hang on, hang on.Bonjour, je m 'appelle Bugatti, j 'ai start.
Okay, Monday morning. We know we've got a faulty fuel pump control module. Now, I think we've got to call Bugatti. So, here it goes.Whether they pick up the phone is a different story because every time I rang them, they don't seem to pick up.But hey, a lot could change today.
Do you think they're gonna pick up?
I think they'll pick up and then they'll say, let me speak with someone, we'll get back to you and we'll never hear from them again.
Always good when you buy a million quid car innit?
Imagine having a baguette and they won't even answer the phone to you.
It's not even me.They don't know that's me either. They don't know that's me.What do you actually do?What do people do when they've got a baguette? What do they do when they've got a problem with it?
Because I cannot get through to anyone.
Well, maybe that's why this got left.
Yeah, they just left it.That's what I'm thinking too. They just leave it.We're going to have to try a baguette in Paris, aren't we?
Have you ever been to Paris?
No.Have you?
Yeah, I have. This is actually a joke, isn't it?Say bonjour. You've got to say bonjour.Do you know any French?
Unbelievable.Unbelievable.It says call us back Monday to Saturday. It is Monday to Saturday. It's midday on a Monday. Why are you there?
Any other Bugattis?I genuinely am worried because if you bought one and you have this problem, what happens? What actually happens?I think we've got to go down.
Try and vent now.
It ain't just me.What do you do?What do you actually, like all these pictures of Bugattis in there, how do you? This is a jet this is no like this is genuine test site. This is there's no doctor in here I don't want to devalue my car.I'm just shutting Right a little experiment now we're gonna ring sales, let's see if they'll if they pick up if you want to buy one.
Right, this is the one in Mayfair.Watch this.Unbelievable.Unbelievable.So have you got free 10 on yet?No.
I can't even buy one. There's something not right here.
Maybe they know it's your number. They don't.They've put your number in the system. They don't.Mighty Green Man's got your number in them.
Insert that in the system.Do not answer calls.Got a phone call.Hello?
This is Jack.I just missed a call from this number.I'm burning from the gas in London.
Hi, you're right.Yeah.Yeah.Oh, yeah, it's perfect.Okay, which so I've got a Veyron here and it's got a faulty fuel pump control module now I've read that there's somewhere there was some recalls on that on that part, but I don't know the full situation with it What is the process on getting that part or getting it replaced?
That's fine sir, so you've come through to the showroom.I need to get you through to the service centre.I've got a direct line that can get you through to the manager that works there, who will probably just need, I don't know, your name and the chassis number of the car that you've got and then he can get you through the process.
Perfect, perfect.Cheers, bye.Bye, bye.Unbelievable.The sales team rang me back.So I got a phone call back.
from the sales team not the service team that's because they want to sell you a car not service it unbelievable jeff but now rather than them calling you you've got to call them again and what's the chance of him answering that phone and now i've got a personal number like people think that I'm like deliberately attacking Bugatti when they're not helping themselves.I'm literally trying to do what a genuine Bugatti owner would do right now, is I've got a problem with the car, I'm trying to call them and I want a solution and I can't get it.I literally can't get it.You know being up for an R8, a Ferrari, they're going to pick up the phone in a second. It's saying right, is it?Let's call the service manager now.
We've got the phone call, the phone number of.Let's see how this goes down.I apologise in advance if any of these are watching the video, but you don't help yourselves.
This can't be real. Are we in a dream?
I've got a perfect business model.
Listen to this.
We make 450 cars.We sell them a million pound each, say.If they ever have a problem with them, They have to bring them to us, so we've got control. We can sell the parts. We're getting the parts from somewhere else, yeah?but we'll 15x or 100x sometimes the price of the parts that we're getting on Yeah, but if they do ever have a problem just don't pick up the phone.

Get started freeThat is smart business That is because you've already sold the car. You've made money on the car.Yeah, but but if they want if someone wants to buy another one Pick up the phone.
Yeah, because they're one they've already got is broken and they can't get parts for it because no one answers the phone. They'll just want another one.Oh, that's good.Yeah.So I sell them another one.
Exactly. And because there's only like 450 ever made, made limited numbers, they are going to increase in value. And people will think they're like these amazing, they are these amazing things.Like, so I think it is, it's a perfect business model. Why have you not thought of that?I don't know.
Why has it only took till now?Why has no one done that?
What should we call the brand?
I don't know, I'm thinking of something with a B. Magatti?Yeah, it sounds...Like that?Should we ring Pagani anyway?Just ringing Pagani now, just to see if they...Oh, no, sorry.
Thank you for picking up.I was trying to contact Bugatti but it was just a point I was trying to make that you guys would actually pick up and Bugatti wouldn't.So that was unbelievable.Thank you so much.Hopefully speak to you soon.Yeah, you pick up the phone.
You've got the wrong brand.Unbelievable.So can we park XS in or what?Yeah, I think we should, yeah.Get rid of that thing.I've ran every one.
I've even ran Paris.
And they don't even pick up.No, they weren't even open. They were like, oh yeah, it's Monday to Saturday.
Yeah, it said drive to call back Monday to Saturday. But it's bloody Monday. What are we going to do?We're actually stuck. We can't get a fuel pump control module.
Get it on a trailer drive it there and just leave it outside.
That's the only way we're gonna do it I think that's the only that's the only way we're gonna do it and then they just make up a bill though Didn't know they just Google random number generate a bill Accumulator will be deleted this was the better accumulator out of two bad ones so we're going to remove this we've got a new one then this gearbox should be running sweet engine on the other hand it's in Bugatti's hands right let's replace this here is my fresh one which we managed to source look at that beautiful we'll keep these because i think there's a lot of companies that can rebuild them so next year when we have to replace them we've got two pairs we can keep bouncing around so if we have to replace it next year then we can then get the other ones refurbished and then the year after that we get the ones that we just took out refurbished so we just keep going right in this one goesWhat a job.Doing it so many times now.So what we're going to do before I put it back together, because we've been here before, we're going to do a timer when the gearbox pump kicks back in.So we got to 1 minute 30 last time with a good accumulator and then the 4 out of 10 accumulator. So let's see.
OK, 1 minute. So that's better than when we had 2 bad accumulators.1 minute 30.better than when we had one bad accumulator and one 4 out of 10 accumulator. Two minutes, still no pump. You'd think I wouldn't be able to do four minutes, 20 seconds with shifting gears.
Well, that's a successful fix.So four minutes, that's with shifting gears. If it didn't shift gears, that pump, that pump might as well.like have a day off now that is that's way better isn't it do you think that's why the pump overheats because over time the accumulators get worse yeah they're working more yeah they're working more and obviously he's never had the accumulators changed at all okay right let's put it all back together right more information we're gonna have to keep diagnosing until we get any word back from Bugatti but look if we see here the only live data we can see is the fuel pressure at the fuel rails in the engine and we can see 25 .5 bar 25 .5 bar but when we start the car check this 0 .8 shuts off like starves of fuel one side starves of fuel now when we turn it off unplug the fuel consumermodule fuel control module unplugged look it's immediately it's automatically gone to 4 .5 bar both of them and when start it stays at 4 .5 bar both what happens on a rev nothing no difference when a rev so that's like going to a default setting of 4 .5 bar to obviously idle But the one side of the rail is not doing that.So what we're trying to now work out is whether it's this thing telling there's two fuel pump ECUs, one brain for one fuel pump, one brain for the other fuel pump, controlling two sides of the engine.
Now, is one fuel pump ECU having a bad day and it's not working?and this is trying to tell the fuel pump ECU you should be going to 4 .5 bar and then the fuel pump ECU is going I can't and then that's the issue or is this not telling them to go to 4 .5 bar not telling the other one to go to 4 .5 bar that's what we need to work out so when we spoke to Ricky at RE Performance he said that The best way to diagnose this is to find the signal wire which goes from this to fuel pump ECU 1 and fuel pump ECU 2 and switch them over. That way we then should see the fault move over to the other bank and if it doesn't move over to the other bank then we know we've got the issue with that actual specific fuel pump control module on that one side because it will stay consistent even though this is telling it to do the same thing so what is another way of doing we could switch the plugs over couldn't we good thinking okay let'sflip over the fuel pump ecu's the relay ecu's which are at the back if we can switch them then the fault you would think it would stay in the same one if it's this that's the issue because this is still sending the same wrong signal to that wrong ecu oh my days okay let's see if we can get to one right there's one these two ain't gonna might reach to a one another other but you can give it a go let's unplug this i don't know whether they're grounded out so we've unplugged that one and we can unplug that one right now let's switch them over and then if we see the fuel pressure stay on the same fault on the same rail then we know it's not these and we know then it's the fuel pump ecu which is sending the signal, sending the incorrect signal to one of these. So let's switch that around.Right, here's number two.
Let's put this baby here.Plug this baby in.Plug PSG2 in.No, one in.Right, that's in.Let's see if the fault's switched.
Here we go.25, 25, 25 .5, 25 .5.So, Our diagnosis is correct. It is the fuel pump control module because we're still getting the same pressure, the same flow out of this fuel valve. The only other thing it could be now, no, it can't be.I was gonna say the only thing it could be now is the fuel pump, but it can't be the fuel pump because when we unplug that, it gets 4 .5 bar.

So we need Bugatti to call us back.
What are we gonna do?
What time did you ring Bugatti earlier?Midday one. What time is it now?Quarter to seven. That's good service.Yeah, that is great service.
The really cool thing is like, whether i end up liking this car or not liking this car at the end i think it's going to be worth a lot more than what i paid for it like if you think i got this just under a million pounds these are worth over 1 .3 1 .4 million pounds now and on top of that when you put the registration plate in to carve vertical of this car comes back as a completely clear check like you can see that the mileage goes up gradually but then around 2023 -2024 it sort of comes to a stop and that's when we suspect that it started getting all the faults and the previous owner didn't repair it.Now I'm hoping that on the car vertical graph it continues to go up afterwards because I'll be driving it but we will find out.On top of all that we can see a full timeline of the car every time it's had an MOT check when it was like imported into the country it said when it was first registered in the UK as well because we know this car come from Dubai and we can see if it's ever been in an accident if it was you might see the photos of the car when it was auctioned off at the car crash auction website but luckily for this one there's no signs of an accident So that is really good news.Another cool fact I will tell you about this car as well is that there's no cigarette lighters in here. There's not one cigarette lighter.Like, even when you open this, there's nothing in there.
Obviously, we'll strip to that all out in a minute. But there's no cigarette lighters. So the only way to play music is through a CD.And the funny thing is, is if I press that, the CD is stuck. So the way I play music, I've used my brain.Check this out.
I've got a power bank, and then with a little USB thing here, so this USB thing tunes to the, well these specific radio stations, 87 .5, 85, 103, and then I bluetooth my phone to this transmitter, and then change the radio station to what's on here, and then I can play music on it.Big brain! So remember to check your car out on Carvertical, click the link in the description box below and use the separate discount code for the Mark 2 channel which is on the screen now to make sure you're checking your car out.
It's Tuesday.
We've got an answer.Bugatti have come through.Bugatti Manchester called us back. We've got an answer.I don't know whether it's good or not.Do you know all these problems as well?
Like if... two, three, four years ago you told me you'd have these problems, I would have snapped your hand off to have this problem because it's absolutely unreal. But I think just the expectation of owning a Bugatti, spending that much money on a car, I think the expectation is so high that you expect like, maybe I'm expecting too much, I don't know. But I guess with like Porsches and stuff like that, you at least do get A phone call and an answer straight away.I don't know new to this world.Maybe it's different I don't I don't know but the news is the fuel pump control module is in stock at Bugatti Mulsanne four and a half Thousand pounds it is for that module four and a half thousand pounds.I don't know what I expected I don't know what I expected but it's four and a half grand for that module.
They've got it in stock and They're allowing me to order the part as long as I pay a deposit to get that part in, in Bugatti. So I can pay a deposit for that part, get it in, but the car has to go there for them to fit it.So I'm going to make it like my job.to make their job as easy as possible to fit that fuel pump control module. So I'm going to get like everything out and all in the right places.I'll probably even put the tools out for them and everything.
I'll put the bolts out.I'll make it so like my labour cost is as minimum as possible. And then hopefully that is their answer. How long that part takes to come, I don't know.Because originally they just said two weeks.Which is crazy for something that's in stock, like are they gonna walk it from Molsheim, France to Manchester?
Like surely, but the parts manager has said like, I think he's actually going there. So he might be able to just actually pick it up and take it back.So let's see.Hopefully by the end of the video, we may have it, but who knows? If we don't, I will keep you guys updated.
