Welcome back chums. There's no real easy way to say this headline in fact because quite frankly Invictus Birmingham 2027 is without a shadow of a doubt very much in crisis as ever.Let me explain.Welcome back.Nice to see you.Thank you so much as ever for your time today and welcome one and all.

0:19

Our numbers keep rising and I am absolutely thrilled, delighted that so many of you are enjoying our channel on a regular basis. It's lovely, as I say, to have your company. And, you know, it's just nice to share stories with you, whether they are royal, whether they are nostalgia news, it's all important to us.And part of the channel, you know, I have to say was, again, to bring stories to you, particularly things that I thought we might be ripped off about. You know what I mean? And you think you don't know that, you know?

0:46

And as I pointed out a while back here on our show, I noticed that my council tax bill, they claimed I hadn't paid it.And then suddenly, on the phone call, you know, this one, oh yeah, it's gone into the wrong box.But you know, I could have paid that through fiat. You know what I mean?Because you don't know, do you?You think, oh, I better pay it.

1:04

Maybe it didn't get paid, you know. You know you've done the right thing. But we're of the generation that people, that sort of authoritarian stuff, makes you think, oh, so, you know, that's one of the points and this is another point really you know it's sort of sharing the stories behind the headlines because all of the dedicated spin and nonsense that we have regarding the royals i don't mean the proper royals but you know these two megan and harry it's always lovely to find the inner story because obviously a week down the line where prince harry was ostensibly coming over here to help promote next year's invictus games well it was an utter flop i mean you know, really from the off.And we said this, right, didn't we, that, you know, it's always about them. And so suddenly Buckingham Palace, not Buckingham Palace, meet the king, not the king, bring the children, but, you know, all back and forth. And a loss in all of this was the fact that there's supposed to be

2:00

are these games coming up i think the only good bit out of the whole games was on the podcast where jj charmers very nicely and succinctly explained what the invictus was about if you didn't know harry the inventor the founder looked clueless it was very very clear that he didn't know really how to put this over and this remember is now the head of, if you like, the focal point of this.

2:28

The reason why Harry, you'll notice this, Chums, doesn't really want to talk too much about his... you know, what he's doing because Archwell's down the pan, right? You don't get that mentioned anything, do you?Oh, no, no, no.There's more on that coming.Trust me.They couldn't wait to talk about Archwell at one time, but no, the Archwell Foundation not really brought up anymore.

2:49

And of course, what you've got is the huge problem now with Invictus, because, as I said, originally, you know, this was going to be this massive catapult of interest. The problem that we have over here right now is we've got a government in complete disarray. This man, Keir Starmer, departs within a matter of days, right, and on one of his very final acts decides to reward the Mayor of London with a peerage, Sadiq Khan.He was already made a Sir, yes, in the honours list, and it's interesting because he now has to give that up if he wants to go into the House of Lords. These are the House of Lords that Keir Starmer wanted to abolish until he got nearer them. You see what I mean?

3:31

Now why is that a problem? The problem is simply this, the government aren't focused on anything outside, and that will include the Invictus Games. Now the outgoing, some say, Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, has already stumped up quite a bit of money, public money, you know, not her money, our money, to try and shore this up.What's happened is this, and this is where it gets really messy.me explain You see, another problem that Harry had last week was the fact that, you know, very clearly, he decided, somebody advised him, I would suggest, not to bring LaMarcle into the games. And according to an excellent source, people were absolutely thrilled inside the camp because they knew that she just takes over, wants to do the speeches, the designer frocks, you know what I'm saying, chums, it's a complete farce.

4:20

And by keeping her away, what it was hopeful for was the focus on the games, right?the games themselves. But Harry didn't bother turning up to the launch of the train. Then he found out mid -week, of course, Tuesday, I think it was of last week, that he'd lost that catastrophic Daily Mail court case. And so all the attention shifted onto that.I mean, honestly, virtually nothing for the Invictus Games.

4:45

The problem is simply this.As Harry did turn up, what they would have hoped of, you know, a week down the line, a conclusion to a week at the time of recording this, was big people getting on board, big corporate sponsors. The problem is the corporate sponsors, the big hitters, are all leaving this country or down to the government, really.I mean, you could dress it up any way you want, but, you know, they're driving main businesses out.And there is your problem. You know, will they risk putting something in something already that is very much a tarnished brand?

5:17

Now, as I've often said, I am a supporter of the Invictus Games.I do believe in it.I think they do a terrific job.

5:23

And there's lots of good when it first started out.

5:26

The only way that they can salvage this, and this is where I predict if this doesn't come on board, quite frankly, the whole thing could be wrested, you know what I'm saying chums, it won't be axed, but wrested while they have time to do more, will be of course to have some real royal attendance there. And as I said to you all along, Harry's, you know, bottom line really was he needed to get his father backon board. It's going to be interesting how the King, because this is difficult in the United Kingdom, if somebody senior doesn't attend. Now obviously Mike Tindall's out the pan because he said he remembered Harry when he was fun, so he won't be welcome, all thanks to La Marcle. There is the Duke and Duchess of course of Edinburgh, but they're not necessarily associated with this brand.

6:13

They would go fit, but Mike Tindall would be better.Harry and Meghan obviously think the King, the Prince and Princess of Wales, hence the reason they've tried to move this back.Behind the scenes where this gets really messy is that obviously on this week where Harry's now looking at exactly how much money he's going to have to pay out to the Daily Mail and where it stands with everything like that, which has now really overridden everything, The next phase is that he's going to have to come back to England a lot more in the run up to this.I would say pretty regularly a lot more to meet, greet, shake hands with potential donors, investors, corporate sponsors, that sort of stuff. They will tell you they're doing well. They're not doing well.

6:57

Hence the reason, and this was a really pivotal point, when Australia decided they didn't want it.right?Because they looked at the books, they saw how much this truly cost. Now what happened at that time, you know, somebody thought, oh this is a good idea, let's take it on board.Birmingham Council are just coming out of bankruptcy, I'm not sure how well they're doing, and as I say, this time next year we have a brand new British Prime Minister in Andy Burnham. He won't be here, right so that will be another mess who's going to sweep it all up if we find out that the british taxpayer are having to now shore up this we're not going to be thrilled because ultimately this is a vanity project for those two and that really is it you know if it was genuinely for the games but as i thought before

7:45

exposed by the author Tom Bower about exactly who was doing what and how few people there were at the previous one in Canada. You know, we can't afford it.We're a country on the brink and certainly not if we're not giving the security to Prince Harry. And if we're not certainly loving him in the tabloids, nobody's wanting to shore up even more money. It's literally on the brink.Harry knows this.

8:10

Seemingly, the best he could do was be very, shall we say, vulgar on a podcast where he should have been basically doing a Bob Geldof and saying, give us your money, because that really is his job. It's developing.Neil Sean in the heart of Kensington.
