A farmer named Richard Wills was murdered on Easter Sunday.The locals are all pointing their finger at one individual.The locals say he blew in the town and he immediately started butting heads with locals.He was aggressive, he was rough, he frightened people.Wayne Flower here reporting for the Daily Mail.I am in the sleepy little town of Oyen.

It is about 500 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.Now, the reason I am here is that a farmer named Richard Wills was murdered on Easter Sunday.As the locals call him here, Ricky, went out.They were supposed to have a family dinner.He went out to his farm, which is just down the road from where he lives, just outside of where I'm standing right now.He went to his farm.

He was never seen alive again.Ricky was shot dead.His body was then dragged around the corner and he was dumped in a shallow grave.Now there's only about a thousand people live here in Oyen and it is the talk of the town.I'm outside the Victoria Hotel here where everybody has a theory about what's happened.Some of those theories have been pretty much slammed that have been going through the mainstream media.

Those theories revolve around sheep rustlers.We've been out to where Ricky Wills' farm was, but it's fair to say he's not much of a sheep farmer, and the locals here say his murder had nothing to do with his farming abilities.Now, I'm at the Oyen Cemetery, and the reason I'm here, it's ghoulish, but it really tells the story of Richard Wills and how he came to meet his fate.I'm at the grave of Montana Wills.Now, Montana Wills was Ricks.daughter.

It's important to understand that Rick had a pretty tragic life and Montana was only 19 years old when she died on Boxing Day of 2015.We have been told that she died of an asthma attack and her death absolutely gutted the Wills family and the entire community.Richard Wills also lost his sister in tragic circumstances.This is Lorraine Wills.Now, we understand that she was killed, we're told, when her own vehicle reversed onto her in a tragic accident and she died.Now, it's important to know that this family, that there are Wills scattered throughout this cemetery, including Wills' own parents.

Now, Richard's parents, they're both also Like I said, there's Wills throughout this cemetery.Shirley died in 2010.She was married to Thomas.The locals all knew these people.These Wills have lived here for generations.Now, I'm sitting just outside where Richard Wills lived.

It's really a quiet spot.It's on a main road, but when you say it's a main road, there's nothing really main out here.It is a quiet place.really out in the wilderness.So Richard Wills, it's Easter Sunday, he told his family he's just ducking down to the farm for some reason.Now his farm is a very short distance, he doesn't live on the farm but the farm is not far away, it's really about five kilometers from from where he lived.

So Richard Wills did this very short drive out tofarm.As I said before, there's a few sheep on this land, but this crime, really, no one here believes has anything to do with the few sheep that Richard Wills had on this land.He came out here to meet someone, and he met a very grisly fate.I'm outside Richard Wills' farm.You can see it's a vast expanse out here.

There really isn't much of anything on it.There are some sheep wandering about this paddock but the locals have really told us that these sheep might be best in a dirty old slow -cooked mutton curry.He wasn't much of a farmer despite some of the stories that have been going around.Now you can see there's still police tape here.It's been a crime scene.Richard Wills came to this location He's met with someone and he never left here alive.

Police have said that he was dragged, he was killed and his body was dragged to a location out here on his own farm and he was dumped in a shallow grave.Whoever killed Ricky Wills had a pretty significant beef with him.That is clear from the way that police suspect he was murdered.Biblical in its atrocity, the way it happened.The rumours swirling around this town, and I'm not talking about just one or two people, this is everyone in this town, believe they know who killed Ricky Wills.This is Richard Wills' farm.

Now, as you can see, it's a barren sort of wasteland, really, that the soilhere is pretty much sand.Locals said that they have been out onto this property and that they have found the shallow grave where Richard Wills was placed into it.Donna Wills came out after this happened.Donna is Richard's beloved wife.and poured her heart out to the press looking for information on someone who may have done this.

This is a vicious killing and it's not lost on the police that a man who went to work on Easter Sunday, one of the holiest days in his calendar, has not come home.There's somebody in this community who knows what happened.Somebody who has information.We suspect that a person who knows Rick is responsible.There is some evidence that Rick's body has been dragged behind a vehicle.

Why would they want to do it to me?Five kids.Lots of grandkids that are going to miss him.He just kissed me goodbye and I just imagined that I'd see him lunchtime.I just thought maybe a mate's come and they've gone for a drive.

Like we've mentioned, the locals are all pointing their finger at one individual.Where that individual is now, is he on the run?Is he under police surveillance?Where is he?We don't know.The locals say he blew into town not long ago.

He's not a local.and who immediately started butting heads with locals.He was aggressive, he was rough, he frightened people.People suspect that gentleman.Now I think in the coming days and weeks we'll see movement on this case and there might finally be some closure for the Wills family.We know that Richard Wills has a plot set next to his daughter's grave back there at the

Oyen Cemetery, which we looked at before.He's yet to be buried.There will be a big outpouring of emotion for him when that happens, and when that happens, we don't know.But until then, we've got to wait and see and wait for the police to carry out their full investigation.And the Daily Mail will be here to keep you updated on all of those developments.
