It's All Coming Out.

It's good to see everybody.No, I did not go to Bungie, but I have been seeing the news.I've been seeing things getting thrown left and right.It seems like while I've been away, it has been a hell of a weekend.And I am seeing a community.me right now.

All I can say is that these next 30 days, it's gonna be interesting.It's gonna be interesting.

We are not gonna lay down.I'd be damn if we walk away.And we let this IP get motherfucking iced for the next 1015 years.

After the next three to four weeks.It ain't gonna be good boys ain't gonna be good.I'm not gonna lie.We're probably gonna make some enemies.Some partnerships may fall apart, which is unfortunate, but we got to stand on it.We gotta stand on it.

I did.I did.I've seen the signatures.There's there.There's so much.And I don't I don't think Sony realizes and the higher ups at Bungie realize how catastrophic, how expensive this mistake will actually be.

See, in their minds, they truly believe that Destiny players are going to go, oh, all right, well, yeah, we'll go play Marathon.And this is not about Marathon.This is not about Destiny versus Marathon.

This is actually about Destiny.versus every IP Bungie has under their portfolio, and by extension, what Sony values at $3 billion.The problem is, is this.

If you sync Destiny, people are not going to play anything else from Bungie.You realize if you try to do, you know, any other reboot game, relaunch of any sort in the future, that's Bungie related.You realize how tainted that will be?Sony's thought process on this is, well, we're going to take games that Bungie was working on and put them under our wheelhouse.For instance, Team LFG, they did it with Gummy Bears.They took Gummy Bears away from Bungie.

They put it under Team LFG under Sony.But that is still attached to Bungie.And so what I'm really trying to say is that $3 billion valuation, if you decide to completely ice the Destiny IP and do nothing with it, your community here, and by extension, the wider gaming community,will not trust anything you make going forward.I'm just telling you, that's the way I'm seeing it.They are not going to trust anything Sony slash Bungie related.

Again, this is common sense.This is common gamer knowledge.or I'd say common gamer knowledge, at least the people that actively play these kind of games.But there are higher ups that are delusional to this.They don't understand this.If they understood it, they wouldn't have ever invested three, $400 million into Concord.

People are not exactly making the best of calls.But if you think Concord was a disaster, sink Destiny, sink Destiny and watch what happens.Is that a threat?Brother, I'm just speaking.I've been gone all weekend.I've been out at West Palm.

getting lit up on the water.And every time I opened my phone, I met with article, petition, article, everybody, everyone, even people that don't even play Destiny have rallied behind this.It's not a threat.It's happening, man.It is happening.And look, here's the thing.

It ain't even fully peaked yet.You know, whenever we get in there and everybody plays the final updates and that really starts to sink in, when it really starts to sink in, that it's over, that it's done.

When you see everyone announcing on Twitter that they have been laid off, officially laid off, this is just, this will be the result of it.Alright, hold on, let me pull up this article.

Alright, more details about the end of Destiny 2 from inside Bungie.It's from Paul Tassi right here, guys.Fans are working through stages of grief now that support for Destiny 2 is ending and the franchise has likely been shelved for years at best.This has affected Bungie itself, of course, and the studio is grappling with what this means for the future of the company and their jobs in the short term.Now, here's more of a breakdown of what's gone on inside of Bungie.Part recap.

part new information from my sources.The decision to end support for Destiny 2 and move at least some amount of resources over to Marathon was made earlier this year.Now, work continue on future Destiny 2 content, including futureexpansions, like Shattered Cycle, and did not stop immediately when the decision was made.So we literally have content, who knows, maybe even a raid, maybe even like part of a raid that was supposed to launch later this year with the annual expansion, already been worked on.This is because the vast majority of Bungie did not know about Destiny 2 support being dropped right up until it was publicly announced.

Can I ask why?Like, hold on, no, no, like for real, like no one wanted to have like a, hey, let's have a team meeting here, all right?This is what's about to go down, and we all collectively need to be on the same page.Leak control, right, because your employees learning about the potential of them getting laid off from a TWAB, that right there is good policy.You see where I'm coming from?Can you imagine working at Bungie?

You're taking lunch.You're like, hey man, what's happening?Oh, the 12 just dropped.Oh, let me, let me, whoa!We're shutting down?Hey, can you imagine trying to go back to work after that?

There were certain teams within Bungie that did know what was coming.Some were working on final destined content for the June updates.Some who had already been moved to Marathon.These people begged leadership to tell more people and keeping so many people in the dark divided the studio.And these in the no teams felt extremely isolated.I mean, yeah.

Can you imagine being the one team that knew, and you're sitting there having lunch every day with these people, and they're like, you know, the people, the guy across from you is talking about how excited he is about maybe that raid or that dungeon content he's working on, and he's like, dude, Shattercycle's gonna pop.

I'm excited, brother.And they can't see.I don't know, man. I would have been like, I would have wrote a note or something to be like, you know, some Shutter Island shit, just just move it across the table.

You know, that's terrible, though, guys.The exact scope and timing of layoffs remain mostly unknown.They are significant, but not immediately imminent.At a town hall after the announcement, multiple questions were asked about layoffs but were dodged by leadership.I gotta ask, who the hellis leadership?

Who, who is leadership?As previously reported, there are no other projects greenlit at Bungie right now, including a number of pitches that use the Destiny IP without being a full sequel.Destiny 3 is neither in production nor greenlit.Sony has been wary of committing to such an expensive undertaking in a market that is in flux and more challenging than ever.There's a reason you do not see many sprawling MMOs like Destiny make it to release these days.Right now, Sony is too risk -averse for something like that.

Now, Sony is supporting Marathon with more resources and will now be at least some number of ex -Destiny workers, in addition to the ones that have already moved over.get some time to try to find his legs, and there's no mandate to try to turn it into the new Destiny.New PvP PvE modes are meant to expand the player base, and larger teams are meant to put out more content now.There was always a lot riding a marathon, but that's even more true now as Bungie's only active game.Destiny 2 ending and no new projects, even Greenlit, means all of Bungie's revenue is coming from that game.The fate of Bungie will come down to how much Sony wants to continue to invest in the studio, which does still value at close to $3 billion in its asset, in terms of time or money, and how small they think it needs to be to be sustainable going forward.

forward.Now the main questions now are, how many layoffs will there be?How big the team supporting marathon will be going forward?How much time marathon has to prove itself and what milestones it must hit?

Will any other projects get green -lit at Bungie?What are they and what is their timeline?Those I don't have answers to yet, but we'll see what happens as the weeks and months press on.So that's kind of the lay of the land right now.Now there is a petition going on.I think it's got over 200 something thousand signatures.

Obviously there's a lot of Destiny players and even the wider gaming community that would like to see a Destiny 3.And again, I think that those signatures and everything else is just going to continue to accumulate and even peak once we get into the June update.I even had friends, man, that were hitting me up once they heard this news.And yeah, some of them are literally just going to be coming back just to play Destiny's final expansion, if you will, in this case, final update.Here's the thing, man. I'm going to say this right now to the Marathon community.I'm sorry.

I'm sorry you're caught up in this.You who just wanted to play a cool FPS extraction shooter set in this sci -fi universe, I'm sorry.You know, when I picked up Marathon in February slash March, you know, I had a good time playing Marathon.And I believe that, you know, playing Marathon in some indirect way would contribute to Destiny 3.With that being said, Marathon community, you guys have been seeing some of the comments out there.And the reality is this.

You're kind of the target right now.But really, the target is Bungie leadership and Sony.But you're going to be one of the targets by proxy.OK, I know a lot of people that are not going to be playing Marathon season two or season three or whatever.I know a lot of people right now that from from since last week's announcement have essentially completely walked away from Marathon.I don't want to play Marathon.

I'll play it, maybe seasonally.I may jump in a few weeks.But I want Destiny.I want Destiny 3.I want this universe expanded.And Marathon, if I have to fucking bury you myself to send that message, I shall.

I will do everything I can to destroy you, piss on your corpse, and light you on fire afterwards, to send even the smallest of messages to Bungie leadership and Sony.I know what I'm saying right now won't bode well for me in the future.Believe me, we have so many partnerships, sponsorships, and I appreciate playing those games and having those relationships.And from this point on, well, probably not going to be good in that aspect, but I want Destiny.So this is this is a personal decision, probably not a good overall decision, but it's a personal decision.And I only got into this thing because of Destiny.

So it's not that we're going to be coming after Marathon, but we are going to be showing all of our support for Destiny.and in retaliation or the effect will probably be negative for Marathon.

I do want to make something very clear.

This thing right now that Sony and Bungie leadership is trying to do, is going to be a much bigger disaster.Way beyond the $200 - $300 million commit for Destiny3. And by the way, we've laid out some game plans here.I thought it would have been so smart to come out Have your final expansion for Destiny2. End it with the showcase for Destiny3. Let the people know you're working on a Destiny

3. Tell the community, thank you, still have your monument of triumphs.And then say, hey, we know it's going to be a few years, but while you're waiting, you can play Destiny 1 remaster, Destiny 1 classic, whatever.It won't be enough content to keep everyone around for a year, but it would bring a little bit of revenue in.Keep a little thing going.Don't want that to detract from a D3.but I thought that would have been so smart.

I think he would have bought a lot of time.It would have, it would have brought in some money and it would have shown since right now, Sony right now has no, they, they, they don't have faith in destiny or, or better yet.

They don't have faith in Bungie, but because marathon is so new and they don't want another game crashing out like so many games do.essentially right after launch, Concorde being the biggest one of them all.They're going to do everything they can to keep Marathon alive.But it goes way beyond this.If you kill Destiny as a whole, I'm telling you, Sony, You are tainting, you are tainting the water.Anything you ever do, you're on out.

Bungie related or creatively related.Even if you were to siphon all of the IPs and move them under Sony, gamers remember, gamers know.Gamers will keep tabs on things and they will see whether it's Gummy Bears or Oni or anything else that might move out from Bungie's umbrella if you think that's going to safeguard and move it under Sony.And you're going to try to make a game with it down the future.

Gamers will remember.Remember this impairment that you recently have done actually both impairments that you've done the one at the end of last year and the most recent one is going topale in comparison to the valuation that you give Bungie today if you sink Destiny.Gamers will remember.And I'm not saying this in a threatening way.I'm saying in a, hey, I'm just being a messenger right now.

Although there may be some threatening stuff back there, but this is what I'm seeing.I'm already seeing the movement.I've been going on weekend, man.You f**kers were already moving.You call on me, you say, hey, Cross, you need to do something as well.This is where I'm at.

This is where I'm at.I signed the petition and bought my We Won Destiny 3 t -shirt copium.Yeah.And look, I just want to say this really, really to the Marathon community.I got nothing against you guys.I've enjoyed your game for a little bit.

Really.I hope you guys have a good Season 2.With that being said, we gotta send a message.So, nothing personal, okay?Truly, nothing personal.Bungie would've been gone without Sony.

Logistically, Bungie has not been ran well.Pete should've been out a long time ago.There's probably people in positions of leadership at Bungie that shouldn't be there.I get it, guys.I'm not disagreeing with any of that.I am not disagreeing with any of those things.

Sony, axe leadership, but don't axe.You're most profitable.You're golden goose.You're best IP.That's just stupid.Now, let me be honest, is this going to have any effect?

Probably not at first.You know, Sony's not exactly receptive to this kind of stuff.Who is in the corporate world, right?They may become entrenched, but never know, man.You can be that thorn in the side of which I plan on being.I will be that thorn in the side.

We were gonna we were gonna hit it hard.We're gonna hit cryo.We're gonna do all the content play with the new classes.It wasgoing to be a damn good time.And then we were going to roll into the Destiny content afterwards.

But no, I cannot in good conscience go play a game and allow leadership to believe this is actually acceptable.That killing Destiny is acceptable.I can't do it, dude.Bro, Destiny's been dead since Final Shape.Y 'all on Copium hard.Keep in mind, Destiny's still doing better than Destiny.

Marathon.

Marathon community.Even so, destiny's lowest lows are still your highs.

Remember that.We've looked at the charts, boys.Actually, it's even worse than that, because console numbers for Destiny are actually much better than Marathon's.Why do you talk about Marathon?He's just saying the game was dead.Listen, Marathon community, I want you to enjoy Marathon, all right?

I'm just letting you know that unfortunately, by proxy, we may have to bury you motherfuckers.And don't get me wrong, they're not gonna do it anytime soon.They'll definitely, they'll make sure, you know, they can, they probably already got funding for it, for who knows, maybe for the next year.All I'm saying is that if you kill Destiny, which is exactly what what's trying to happen right now, if you kill Destiny, kill Destiny 3, this is going to be a very painful experience.And I'm not saying this in a threatening way.I'm just saying that I've already seen the community move.

They are moving.They are stirring like never before.You know, the last time I saw this community stir like this was when Bungie was breaking away from Activision.Now, no one's necessarily rallying with Bungie.They are rallying with the developers.And believe me, there needs to be internal changes at Bungie for sure.

But Bungie without Destiny?Good luck.Unless Sony's goal here is to have two, three, maybe four more impairments down the road.Then they chop up the IPs, pennies on the dollar, and they see if they can sell them to someone.But that's not what Sony wants.Nobody wants bad investments.

Everybody's trying to look for that next Riot, that next Mojang.Man, trust me, that's what Sony wanted.Will it not just kill Bungie to not play their game besides Destiny?If you think that all of us are going to die,to Marathon is somehow going to produce a Destiny 3, you're out to f***ing lunch.Now that's copium.

You want to talk about copium, talk about us having copium, that's f***ing copium.Go look at the graveyard, just the graveyard of IPs that Sony owns.We discussed them last week.But it's not about whether or not Bungie can make a D3 two, three years from now if Marathon becomes successful.It's about the loss of the creative talent that made Destiny what it is, who will inevitably move on.Many of them will not be transitioning to Marathon.

Many will, in fact, branch off, like Joe Blackburn and others that have broken off over the years, like Chris Proctor.And as you continue to bleed out that talent that made Destiny what it was, then you will never be able to make the D3 that needs to be made.It'll be called D3, but it won't be D3.They've gone already.I could tell you right now that D3 was to be announced.These individuals that I'm talking about, these individuals, these creatives, these talents that have left over the years, they would make a return.

Some way or another, they would make a return.And let me just say a lot of them only deported because a D3 was not greenlit.Look, it's not about Marathon.I need Marathon.I need the Marathon community to know it's not about you guys.This is bigger than us, okay?

It's not about you guys.It's not about us trying to wage war against y 'all.It's just that Bungie is not Bungie without Destiny.And you were about to have some pissed off.I'm talking potentially this entire Destiny community, which is large, pissed off.And they will remember this shit.

And they will touch nothing Bungie related.Nothing.And I mean Bungie related, IP related, Gummy.I've already seen conversations about Gummy Bears, although I don't even know what the fuck Gummy Bear is supposed to be.I would never touch anything Sony again.Most technology has ties with Sony.

Grow the fuck up.There's alternatives.
