You redefined what a handshake means.You did more splits than I think anyone has ever done on this earth.And you became truly one of the most debated islanders of this season.That's wild.When you got your phone back, what conversation surprised you the most?

Um, probably just kind of just being exactly like sincere and stuff that that kind of threw me for a loop.And then also just the hate comments on Dylan.I was not expecting that because he's been nothing but amazing.And I was like, I was just, my jaw was on the floor for him and it hurt my heart so bad to see him upset.

Well, I want to get into all that because I feel like, yes, a lot of people either were like, you were so messy or they thought you were misunderstood or they were like, this is the only person that's actually doing the experience completely right.Yeah.I want to go back a little bit, though, before we get into the details of Love Island.How did you even end up on this show?Like, what made you want to apply?

So I actually had never watched the show.I've watched the UK Love Island like once.um love them huge fan uh but my best friend in nursing school hannah she like told me hey you should apply for love island and i was like uh okay and i'd been studying all day and i just like did a 90 questionnaire talking i was eating dinosaur nuggets in my coffee it was like 4 p .m right aftermy hot girl walk and then i'm like i i did that and then after that i failed nursing like failed my last tests in nursing school, you have to get a 75 and above. II got a 74 .96, so it was .04 off.

And - It was the 20 -30 thing.

Yeah, it was 100 % the 20 -30 thing.That's what fucked me fucking over, bro.Like, ah, what the fuck?But I ended up having a break.I went to, I got my hair done and like all different.And yeah, I took a breath for myself.

and then got back in the game and finished on December, or no, when did I graduate?It was like literally right before June, February, March, like March.and then I was sent on the 13th, like the day after.

So your friend was the one that was like, maybe you should do this.Yes.And is this like typical Kenzie fashion?Were any of your friends surprised you were doing Love Island or were they like, oh, that's so classic her?

No, it's actually crazy.Cause they, my dance friend, like right before I went on, she's on the Hawks dance team.And she messaged me and was like, I think you would be amazing on Love Island.And I'm like literally about to go on.I'm like, ha ha.

And were you a relationship girl before Love Island?

I was, but I got my heart broken like three, Well, one big time.And then for two years, I was single and I did not talk or text anyone, like no one.OK, well, yeah, I remember you were like, I haven't had sex in a year and a half before you entered the villa.

Was this by choice?Like, how did you feel about being celibate?

It was definitely by choice because it was for for a while and it was only like my boyfriends, like the guys that I had very seriously talked to.And then for a year, I was like, oh, For it was three guys three more guys, and I it made me just feel like I needed that connection I need that connection with someone and we're using you had slept with only four men for a minute your life Yes, and then I summer here.I slept with three like and it just made me feel kind of icky.I was just like oh Like to be a relationship girl, so I stopped and because I wasn't talking to anyone I wasn't gonna do it and then I'm like well, I'm going on love island like I'll just hopefully find someonethere.

I feel like so many women are gonna be watching this like actually like we I fuck with you because you're just so honest.Like most people I think most women are like scared to even be like, what's your body count?How many people have you slept with?Because there's so many like weird negative connotations.And you're like, oh, so four than three that.Yeah, I love it.

Yeah, I have no idea how to manage a roster at all.I think it's pretty obvious and clear, but everyone's surprised that I've never had a roster.It's just like I was going on the show to find my best connection, and that's what I was there for.

But do you think now that you have a better idea of how to manage a roster, you're like, I'm never doing that again?

I don't think I ever want to do that again, but like, I don't know.It was fun.It was like the best experience ever.But yeah, Even on Snapchat, I've never done that.I never could text or talk to any more than one guy.And I never understood how other people could do that.

It's a full -time job.

It is definitely a full -time job.How much is a girl allowed to talk about with another guy?Can I not talk about my family?

I know we're gonna get into that because it was interesting seeing like you got backlash for certain things and that's I was wondering like what was your understanding of Love Island etiquette when you first got in there of like how you're allowed to move with multiple connections?

Um, honestly, I didn't know any like love island etiquette.I'm just more just like, I'm just gonna be me have a connection, see if we connect really good.I did want to be upfront, honest every single time like, and I tried the only thing I didn't say was that one kiss with, um,

Also, I don't know if you've seen this online, but so many people are like, the way that Kenzie would have thrived of on Love Island UK this season because everyone on this season of Love Island UK is moving like a Kenzie.Really?Oh, you would have been you would fit right in Kenzie.Um, do you think the like closed off somewhat you know, like playing it safe mindset hindered any of your other castmates experiences?Because obviously you moved a lot different than a lot of other people.

Yeah, I moved a lot different than them.But also I feel like the people that came in, they were able to connect with them immediately.It just so happened to be that my person came in later and at Casa.But I don't fault them for it.If you like someone, you like someone.You want to stay.

You want to stay with them.I just I my person just didn't come in till later.Okay, let's get into it.We're going to go through the whole season.

Episode one, you chose Zack Storr.You guys end up coupling up and almost immediately into coupling up, he lets you know that he has literally never been with a blonde before.He goes with people with darker features.You're kind of not his type.And we saw you obviously get in your head about this.How did that comment so early on affect your confidence?

I don't know if it affected my confidence, but I would say it hurt because I was like, damn, Charlie's into blondes, the fuck?

I thought Zach would too, but I guess that's just not how it goes.I'm not OK.

Yeah, I was just telling myself, I love who I am.I'm in love with myself.And whatever guy is here, he's going to love that too.But it just wasn't going to be him, and that's OK.

And prior to the villa, just in normal life, how would you describe your confidence and your self -esteem?

I I do EFT tapping like I'm always like I'm a goddess.I love myself likeI pray that God gives me all that love and support.And that's how I feel about myself now.And it hasn't always been like that.I went through really hard times when I was broken up with, and I was so down on myself.

But you can pick yourself back up with all the positive energy.It's all you.

And I think we saw that truly.Your confidence, as much as you kept getting kind of like, this isn't working or this isn't working.You kept it moving in a way that was really refreshing to see that you didn't get too down on yourself.One of the main things the internet grabbed onto the first episode was how shocked you were that you were not anyone's type at first.Yeah.Did this have you immediately comparing yourself to the other women that you were in the villa with?

Yeah, I feel like naturally it does make you compare yourself.It made me feel like not as beautiful, you know, to a point.It did suck.Cause I was thinking that I was gonna have like a Erin and Kayla situation where I just met my person and seeing that happen right in front of me.And then, you know, Zach bringing Keita back right away, and then they're in the bed next to me, and they're making out and stuff, and then I only just laid on his shoulder like he didn't even wanna cuddle or anything.I'm like, yeah, it definitely made me feel a certain type of way.

Eventually though, you had a slow start, but eventually someone came in who caught your eye.During the office challenge, a new bombshell, Corbin, entered the villa.What was your first impression of Corbin?I was like, he's not 100 % my type, but he's hot.

We just ended up having a great conversation.I was like, wow.We had a really good conversation.The chemistry was there.And I'm like, OK, if he chose me and he did, we pursued each other after that.

Early on, I remember you told Aniyah you were worriedCorbin had fuck -boy behavior.Yeah.But it was like a gut thing.Yeah.What do you think you were picking up on?

Um, probably like his swag, kind of, and his nonchalantness of just...And then I heard about the kisses, and I was like, hmm.

I should have taken it more with a grain of salt than I did, but I'm like, hey, wait, this is Love Island.

Like, shit, I'm like, a kiss is like a handshake for me.So it's like, this is Love Island, babe.And you just got here, so I'm not gonna fault you for that.

That's fair.Do you think you were shocked by how many people were in shock when you said that you thought that a kiss was like a handshake?

Yeah, like, okay, clearly I'm not gonna do that outside of here.It's not like that, but when I'm on a fucking dating show, we kiss and challenge each other.What's the fucking difference if I'm if I'm fucking like what is it?

Like come on now, that's fair I mean, I I think that's fair.Yeah outside of the villa Would you say though that you're someone who has a good read on guys?

Tell me.So when we had that kissing challenge, when she went back and forth to both of them, I had a conversation.I was like, so did you know that you were kissing him?No idea she was kissing Corbin or sincere or who was who and to me I told her that was really hard for me to believe because you've been kissing sincere for how long and and Corbin's a lot bigger Yeah, you know, but we talked about that and then she told me that She was not into Corbin, that Corbin was her type to a tee, but she's very much into sincere.She said, you have nothing to worry about not pursuing him.I'm not going to talk to him like we're good.

So then the next day, we're like pooling and, you know, like beach and whatever.And then she pulls Corbin for a chat.to talk to him.And then I didn't get to talk to her until later that night and I pulled her for a chat and I was like, hey, I'm just confused because 20, not even 24 hours ago, like last night, you told me that you weren't going to talk to him, that you weren't pursuing him.So I'm like, there's a disconnect there.I'm confused.

And she said, yeah, well, that was yesterday.Like me and sincere are not good anymore.So I am going to pursue Corbin.And so that's why I was so upset because I just felt I felt blindsided and I felt likeif she was interested, just say, you know, I am interested in Sincere, but also I do still want to kind of chat with Corbin.And I would have been cool with that.

It would have been, it would have been different.I don't think we saw that initial conversation between you and Melanie for being like, I'm not interested in Corbin, like me and Sincere are good.

So all we saw was me getting upset, you getting upset, which makes total sense.

Like I understand why everyone's going crazy because it is like double standard kind of thing.Like, but I wouldn't have been upset.She was my best friend in there.

And she had approached you saying, I'm not going to go for that.And then her and Sincere get in a fight and then she's going for Corbin.And I'm sure to you, it kind of felt like, wait, hold on.Now is this just like to make Sincere jealous or whatever?Because I actually feel like I have a real connection with this person.

Holy shit.It did seem like you and Melanie had a few ups and downs this past season.What were some other moments when you look back that kind of like tested your friendship?

It was definitely that.And then right after that, Soul came in.And Sincere, they had a thing going.And Soul was very much like, she just felt isolated in there.I don't want to like speak for her, but she, She was having a hard time.She was crying a lot and I just wanted to be there for her So I started pulling her for chats and I just said hey I wanted to let you know you have a friend in here and I'm here for you and I think she's beautiful and amazing person But also at the same time you could there's only so many hours in a day.

You can only have so manywith so many people.And Melanie was pulling Trinity and Anaya more often.So I could only as well talk to so many people as Melanie also.So it just so happened we didn't have as much time together.But of course I wanted to be there for her as a friend.

So that's why I was so emotional later when we had that conversation and she was talking about that.

Right.Did you feel like there was an unsaid dynamic in the villa that if you were friends with Sol, you were kind of also then going against Melanie to some degree.

Yeah, um, I don't agree with that.I like to, like, I was just trying to be there for someone who needed someone.And I think Sol's an amazing person.I think Melanie is an amazing person.But Melanie had a ton of support already in the villa, where I just saw Sol and I just wanted to comfort her and be there for her.

Did it feel like Sol was being treated fairly in the villa?

I think that it was really hard for her to come in when she did.I mean, she's a bombshell.She really bombed.I don't know.I did feel for her on a couple of days, but I think she ended up getting along with people after that, but I felt for her.

Yeah.Where do you and Melanie stand now?

Well, right before I left, I don't know if they showed this because I haven't seen it, but she pulled me for a chat and we talked like we're really great friends.I love her.Since the day before I walked out, I remember holding her hand right before the door opened.And she's like, don't worry, they're just as nervous as you.And like she was my comfort and she'd had been that comfort.I know we went through our ups and downs, but I love her down and I always support her.

I think you had a kiss.Like, was the physical attraction there once you had a kiss?

The physical attraction was definitely there after we had a kiss.I was very much into him.

And once you guys had that first kiss, were you still more into Corbin or Caleb?

Um, yeah.So after that first kiss, I still had more of a connection with Corbin.different levels other than just like attraction and just like one initial, like I fall in love by someone speaking to me, like in my ears, I have to have time with you.So on that initial chat with Caleb, he was like, who do you like more, me or Corbin?And I was just like, Oh, my God.I have a really great connection with Corbin.

And I told him I still wanted to pursue that with him and that I was very unsure, but I really did like Corbin.And I said, I'm very interested in also getting to know you.

So this was essentially the first love triangle you experienced, not only in the villa, but in your life.You said, I'm a one person kind of girl.I'm confused as fuck right now.What do you think was the most difficult part of managing these two connections at once?

Um, probably just like stepping on other people's toes in the villa.There's other girls there that also want to explore them as well.Um, not knowing like what I can and can't say to either of them.It's like, it's kind of weird.I grew up watching The Bachelor like, like what he says I love you to how many three girls and I can't talk about my family.It's kind of wild.

Like I'm on a Love Island dating show.Am I supposed to be having conversations with other guys?I don't know like it it's confusing and it's so hard because I'm like I'll be kissing Caleb and yeah it's a great kiss but I have a great connection with this other guy and that's why it was so hard for me I'm like my mind can't compute I'm like uh well it is so I agree with you Kenzie because what's so weird is I'm also watching UK right now and like Everyone's talking about being at home.

Why are we chatting about everyone else's couple in here?How is that going to bring me any closer to you?

It's not.Okay, the internet then was like, you know what?As America, we're deciding to break Corbyn and Kenzie up and we're gonna put her in a couple with Caleb.And I think America at first, by the time the voting was happening, really thought like, she should try with Caleb.And then I think they were like, fuck our life.Wait, it feels like she actually really likes Corbyn.

We just did her dirty.And I remember seeing everyone online being like, wait, did we just fully fuck Kenzie over by voting her into a different couple?In hindsight, Do you think that fucked up your experience a little bit because it really put pressure on you to give Caleb an even bigger shot than maybe you were gonna intend to.

Yeah, I don't think it, like, fucked me over in a way, because I was also interested in Caleb, and I like that we got that chance to be together and talk and see how it would go.But I was still feeling Corbin a lot, and I missed being in a connection with him.And I wasn't understanding why Corbin, like, we were very kissy and touchy at the pool and all of this, and then right when he was coupled up with Melanie, he's like, let's not do any of that.And so I was very much confused.And then like the night on the dock, I was like, I want to kiss you.And so it felt so weird.

And then Caleb was also like watching me on the dock, which I was like, that was a lot.
